I disagree that it is ‘healthy’ eating fruits when you have a sugar craving. This information is misleading specially in a country like Sri Lanka when all tropical fruits are full of sugar. The amount of fiber in the fruit is still not sufficient to prevent from a glucose spike. What’s best is to always pair the fruit with a healthy fat like peanut butter and to eat it at the end of a meal! I also think what’s not right is that the Cardiologist giving diet advice. These are two separate streams of science and the diet advice should come from a Nutritionist.
@sasankabi Dr. Gotabhaya is an exceptionally qualified doctor, with extensive experience and dedication to saving lives. He provides valuable advice based on years of medical training and a deep understanding of health, including the impact of diet on the heart. Are you also a doctor or a certified nutritionist to comment on these topics with authority? Cardiologists like Dr. Gotabhaya are highly knowledgeable about how food choices affect heart health, while nutritionists bring a broader focus on wellness. Watching a few TH-cam videos does not equate to holding an MBBS or having specialized training. We should be grateful that Dr. Gotabhaya is sharing his insights with the public, taking time out of his busy schedule to educate us on crucial health matters. His advice is grounded in expertise, and we owe him respect for his dedication to our well-being.
