I have noticed remarkable improvement since I've been using it. I have a rescue kitten that I found starving a couple of months ago. She's healthy now but when she yawned her breath would knock you down. Her teeth, even though she was young were yellow as well. I started giving her about a teaspoon of this yogurt when I had mine each morning. I would say it's been about three weeks and she no longer has bad breath and her teeth are whiter. I'm not exaggerating either. Seeing the profound difference it has made on her makes me realize that stuff is really amazing.
I have been making and eating the L. reuteri yogurt since last November. First of all, I am 75 years old and my gut has never worked so well in my entire life. I eat it everyday and my health has improved significantly because of this yogurt. I recently wanted to make a double batch in order to give some to a friend. I had bought both the Osfortis and the Gastrus brands of L. reuteri. What I did was to make this double batch with both types of L.reuteri. The results were amazing. The combination has produced a very thick and creamy yogurt without a lot of the tangy taste. I absolutely love this new combination and will continue to make it. We have nicknamed this yogurt, "Turbo Turd Yogurt", because of what it does to make the gut work so well👩🏻🍳😂 I always make it with Jersey cow half and half.
I am just now on my 3rd day of my first L. Reuteri yogurt.I am 76. I have nearly a quart in the fridge. I will keep making it in cycles. I have such hope. In 2019 I had a surgery and they removed a lot of hemorrhaging intestines which left me with chronic diarrhea. I am praying this will help me return closer to normal. I am primarily carnivore so I eat no wheat or sugar or carbs. I have severe long term fibromyalgia. I suffer overall relentless inflammatory pain, uncontrollable gout, high diastolic readings, and severe weakness. I have hope now.
@@susans7091 I did it for about 3 months and noticed an overall quietening and relaxing of my entire GI tract. I just finished a course of antibiotics for bronchitis and as soon as I can I'm going to make some more with the additional two suggested bacilli and do the whole process over again. I am very pleased and I believe I got the results I was looking for
My microbiome studies extend into my garden. Seriously, composting rehabbed the soil and my gut followed right along behind it. I mulch oak leaves to replenish what the veggies extract. The refrig is full of ferments coming from that miracle taking place in the yard. The microbes do the work..outside and inside. Somehow, I am participating in an ecosystem even if don’t have all the details.
Yes! Three years of learning about our soil microbiome...Dr. Elaine Ingham! Sure prepped me for this wave of personal microbiome information. You just know that paying attention to the two will bring us a world of changes❤️
@deepost2604 The sixth result on my search engine brings up Korean natural farming, which people are Now Calling natural farming in america. @@danaharden6283 I got introduced to JADAM via Huw Richards a UK Gardner. Bought the book and have doing organic ferments for the garden. It makes sense that this approach is coming from Korea, a culture that’s been farming for thousands of years in an area with limited expansion. The US should have learned from the dust bowl…but alas, agriculture continues with extensive tillage. What I learn of fungal networks, encourages limiting interference with fungi because they literally FEED plant roots. Not wanting to break the underground feeding chain…
I added L. Reuteri "yogurt" to my diet one month ago and eat it daily. About one week ago I was getting a massage and, while laying face down, my massage therapist asked me how much weight I have lost. I told her that I have not lost any weight and the I could tell that since I haven't been exercising (I also lift weights) as much since rotator cuff surgery I felt that I have lost some of the firmness that I had. She said, "Well, your waist is telling a different story because it is visibly smaller than it used to be!" Also, I was back at CrossFit (with limitations) one month after rotator cuff surgery and released with no restrictions (although I do need to build up my strength) after only 12 weeks post-surgery. I attribute this MAJOR success to clean eating, which includes raw milk kefir daily.
@@teresahobbs5089 Donna shares how to make it in her podcasts. I've been making & drinking raw milk kefir 9 months and feel fantastic. I am now adding L Reuteri and learning to make yogurt like they are discussing here. I'm sharing it with a group so we can keep each other growing, learning and getting.stronger together.
@@teresahobbs5089, you buy raw milk at a farm and then there's tons of TH-cam videos showing how to do it. Some health food stores carry the packages of the grains (starter), but if you have trouble finding it, I can mail you some. As long as you provide an address. I'm not charging anything, it's my pleasure to help ...
Thank you so much Dr Davis and Donna, iv been taking L-reuteri now for 4 weeks and can honestly say it's the first time my psoriasis is clearing after 9 years, I have tried everything under the sun to get rid but failed, after watching your videos I bought myself a yoghurt machine and bought your book Super Gut and it has already changed my life, I can not thank you enough as I feel so much better and happier, I am 68yrs old and looking forward to living a better life, thank you so much ❤️
❤ I am 80. For years i have eaten almost no sugar. I am also a hypnotherapist and have (for 30 years) guided regression for trauma clearing for suffering people. (PTSD, also, weight loss, stop smoking, etc) Coming from the mental health world, I feel like my remarkable health and looking 20 years younger than i am (few wrinkles, quite mobile, no drugs or health insurance, etc) nonetheless lives on the edge of falling apart because I work by clearing emotions stored in physical symptoms and especially from guidance from dreams. Further, as miraculous as this work (power of the mind) is, when I think of all the mental health issues in this world, i have had to fight despair. Two weeks ago I learned about Dr. Davis's work. My first client (yesterday) was a nurse who needs to lose 130 pounds. He already knew about your work (wheat belly, etc) and was unable to take action from what he knows. We will see! I deeply appreciate your work! Dr. Davis's honesty, his metaphors, his comfort with helping the whole person, especially our mental health, is wonderful. I especially appreciate his putting cause and effect in its rightful place....(i actually wrote this a moment before the good doc mentioned cause and effect). I now feel some hope for the whole person and the future. You two are talking at a wonderful level that i don't hear in other interviews with Dr. Davis. Thanks to Donna's wonderful ideas!
Thank you so much. Only after 4 days eating L Reuteri I started to sleep so much deeper. Now even my babies (who get it through my breastmilk) start sleeping so much better❤️
The symptoms of dementia cross over with mycotoxin exposure in water damaged buildings. These biotoxins are extremely acidic and get into the cells and contribute to the loss of most intracellular electrolytes like potassium and magnesium. This destroys brain function when the mycotoxins enter the brain. I am suffering from this right now after 16 years employment in a nursing home as a registered nurse where the roof leaked all the time in that building. The hospital always said that there was no mold problem! I am hoping that this yogurt can help bind these mycotoxins and restore my gut bacteria. I was forced into early retirement and struggle to meet my own needs now because of extreme weakness, insomnia and problems with word finding. I pray this is what helps me because there is few doctors in Fairbanks Alaska who do not just say that I am delusional! I have no help but what I study to hind answers for my own health.
Please check out Dr. Darren Schmidt at the nutritional healing center in Ann Arbor Michigan. He had really bad mold from his medical office and he’s got a huge protocol that actually gets it out of your body.
Would love to see a what I eat in a day or what I eat over the course of a few days, especially because you eat such a wide variety of fermented foods and it would be great to learn how you get them all in!
Dr. Davis recommends Gasseri BNR17, Reuteri, and Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086 to make the sibo yogurt. You are suppose to heat to 106 degrees. Since he recommends Reutri to be heated at 100 degrees, I worried about killing Reuteri, so I make Reuteri seperate from the other strains and then just mix the two when I get ready to eat it
Please email what machine do use ? I hv a Ninja Foodi and someone said they used the dehydration option but that the temperature has to go upto 180 degrees ??? Why ????
I have been making an L. Reuters yoghurt yoghurt for a few months now, and based on Dr. Davis tips I also add l. gasseri, b. Infantis, and b. coagulants. My first couple batches I aggressively mixed the spore powders and probiotic inulin (and later batches a couple tbsp of yoghurt from the last batch) into the half & half with a whisk. The resulting yoghurt was tasty, but not a good consistency with watery whey separated from the creamy solids. Then instead of hand whisking I started using the Ninja bullet mixer (that I bought for making smoothies) and suddenly the yoghurt had the consistency of a good whole fat Greek yoghurt. Doing this also significantly reduced the fermentation time from 36 hours down to 24 hours or less. I'm 65, and my wife and I are enjoying the yogurt, and all the benefits described by Dr. Davis and in the comments.
@@richardgomesarruda5590. Absolutely all the videos that I’ve been watching with Dr. Davis. He said that it’s the last 12 hours where the L Reuteri just explodes.
Hello, It's 0930 AM, January 14, 2024. Ambient room temperature (72-77 degrees F) in the apartment that my wife and I are living in. I've been able to make the L. Reuteri Yogurt drink at room temperture for 36 hours following the "Super Gut" book by Dr. Davis pg 240. I use the milk that I get off the shelf, since its hard to find half-half creamer. We have a lot of power outages here in the mountains of Dominican Republic.
@@lorettamargaret2243 L.Reuteri is not a thermal ferment like the ones for yogurt, L.Reuteri is growing even a 10°C, it s a ambient room temperature culture, 37°C is a near maximum warmth for L.Reuteri and only make it duplicate the fastest possible ! but faster means more difficult to handle, you get more separation, you favor other ferments to grow quicker and end results will be more yogurt or cheese rather pure L.Reuteri culture. My advice is culture around 30/35 °C and go for 48Hrs.
I have spent soooooo much out of pocket money and time - so much time trying to recover from long COVID. Somehow Dr. William Davis showed up in my TH-cam feed and for once I feel hope that I can have my life back. Thank you, Donna, too. The more people involved in spreading the message, the more people who have lost hope can finally do something that doesn't involve insurance companies and is easy to incorporate into their lives. The first batch took me awhile to get into the hang of but my last batch went so much faster. I appreciate you!
It is funny that you mentions that folks are making this in their RV's because I do! Honestly the hardest part is finding a pure half & half as we travel.
I make it with coconut cream and a little organic tapioca powder and water...mix in l. Reuteri ... and gasseri and couglans and 100 degrees for 3 days...I added a touch of coconut sugar to ferment...and tart cherry juice extract and stevia for flavor...
My most successful batch of L reuteri was obtained using only one tablet of gastrus L reuteri starter with 2T insulin (I used Now brand), 1 qt ultra pasteurized half and half preheated to 104F in my Instant Pot Pro set to 101F for 36 hrs. My result was thick creamy mild yogurt. IMHO people are getting a lot of separation in the first batch from using too much starter. I’m sure my cfu’s may be lower but subsequent batches should be higher bc I will use this yogurt for my next starter. Now the exciting part will be consuming this yogurt to see if I achieve benefits!
I think you’re absolutely right. My first starter batch highly separated the whey from using too many tablets. Reducing to 4 tabs per gallon was just fine.
She did not even mention his channel or provide his links in the description which is only proper etiquette. He has a TH-cam channel, blog, and NY Times bestseller.
Why Donna appears so much younger is because she has exhuberant wide-eyed joy popping out from every pore-its that addition of oxytocin to her diet. Looking back at older videos...she's always had the enthusiasm in sharing her knowledge, but this is different. Her jaw and neck also appear slimmer than from the first interview with Dr. Davis. Dr. Davis' face looks more taut, as well. Great conversation!
This is great information, but just FYI guys, if you are only lifting weights for 10-15 minutes a week, and you also purposely avoid heavy weights, you aren't going to need "recovery" from that and it doesn't really help your case to claim L Reuteri is the reason why. Try working out 3x a week for an hour with real loads, to the point you are sore the next day and report back to us how your recovery goes.
MARCoNs is antibiotic resistant bacteria that lives in the upper sinus cavity. I’ve been tested twice after I have tried natural treatments twice but I still have it. (I have Lyme and CIRS as well). I need to try this yogurt!! I always have sinus pain for years. Thanks for sharing this info!
Look into zylitol nasal spray; they say it kills a lot of bad bacteria by killing the hard outer shell of the bacteria in the nasal cavity and makes a slippery surface that bad bacteria can not stick to. You can buy it or make it. Also chewing 6 grams of it a day in gum after meals cut down ear and sinus infections significantly and also cuts down on cavities. I personally just ordered it so haven't used it yet but do chew the gum and it has made a difference. It is a prebiotic.
I had permanent sinus blockage and pains problems since I was a small child and even had to attend hospital to have them drilled out which then involved wearing a bag on my nose afterwards to catch involuntary discharge. The problem never went away it was diagnosed as Chronic Rhinitis by my doctor who could offer no cure, I had beconaise nasal sprays however these only ever gave a minor reduction in symptoms. Last summer I started with Dr. Davis's L. Reuteri yogurt and noticed many benefits including a 100% cure to my almost life long sinus problems at age 59. It seems like a miracle but I guess it's just great science and common sense application of medical knowledge by Dr. Davis. I've just added a post which lists the main health benefits I've experienced so far.
I’m curious if anyone has looked into the possibility of L. Reuteri helping to remove toxic mold. Mold has been shown to have negative effects on the brain that can cause depression and even dementia.
Soreness after exercise is due to fascia tightness, not muscle strain/growth. The l.reuteri must be affecting the hyaluronic acid and collagen that build and lubricate the facia. When the facia is hydrated and healthy, soreness associated with workouts is minimal.
I thought soreness was due to the accumulation of lactic acid post exercise. Fascia are a super interesting mystery. We definitely need to know more about them. Lymph too… intriguing. Not even medical schools teach anything about them… 🤔
The most important thing that you can do, prior to and once you build your flora back to stable levels, is stop putting substances in your body that destroy the flora. Alcohol, antibiotics, white vinegar, smoking, some medications, chlorinated water, and essential oils. There are several more that plummet your PH levels and contributes to the problem.
I loved this conversation; thanks for sharing! I will get the L. Reuteri yogurt because I want to rejuvenate! I’m in my 7th decade & have been following Donna since HayHouse first published your books & I used to listen to you on their talk shows. I have bought 5 of your books & given 3 away to friends that wanted to know more. I sure hope I can get your products in Canada. I was gifted milk kefir grains, a kombucha scoby & do sourdough baking, thanks to you sharing your knowledge. Blessings to everyone 🤗💗🇨🇦
I am 75 yo in shape /healthy lifestyle and had no digestive issues until I adopted the L Reuteri cultured dairy (A2 milk) and kefir regimen, starting slowly and using sparingly. Since then I have developed severe constipation and am in the process of seeking medical attention for this condition. Having read all of the glowing reports for these products I bit on this hook line and sinker. I can only say "let the buyer beware".
Donna, i was so shocked when you said your age! You look wonderful! So healthy and glowing. I have read Dr Davis books. I was so excited to try l.reuteri yogurt. I have methane sibo with histamine intolerance, and the yogurt caused a huge flair, so i had to give it up. I tried different strains, i tried cooking for a shorter period, itried everything i could think of…i wrote to Dr Davis website, but nobody had any suggestions. If you have any knowlwdge of a resolution, please let me know. I cannot eat any fermented foods either, because of the HIT. I am hoping it will go away when my sibo is cured, so i can eat fermented foods again. I wanna look like you!
Consult a Functional medicine doctor or a herbalist & do a herbal-antibiotic course for a few weeks then try the super yoghurt. Also I have heard even after killing off a good number of SIBO bacs, your intestine needs a few more days to heal, so try Glutathione as well. But consult your Functional medicine doctor.
I have just recently heard about Dr Davis a couple of days ago and am very excited about trying this yogurt. I have diverticulitis and my guts need some attention, It's a mild diverticulitis I was informed by my Dr a couple of years ago. I'm 63 yrs old and live a pretty active life with work and everything else, starting this year I felt nauseous on my first day back to work and felt better after taking a cap full of Pepto Bismol, but I know in my heart that wasnt the right fix. I'm very excited about this yogurt and want to order a yogurt maker online to start making my own yogurt and get healthy. I will order some yogurt starter from your site but I could use some help in getting started in the right direction with this. I appreciate your podcast and hope to hear back from anyone in this regard, to get me started. Thank you in advance.
My first batch turned out grainy and had a strong weird flavor…my second batch is absolutely delicious and a great texture. On my first batch it was probably my fault as thought I had ultra pasteurized …turns out it was just pasteurized… so didn’t boil it. I used the Ultra yogurt maker and it was great. Very consistent temp. I am really glad I stuck with it for the second batch and didn’t get discouraged with the kinda weird sweet taste, because it’s delicious and creamy. ☺️
I've just discovered the world of fermentation, etc. I asked my rheumatologist about changing my microbiome and he stated that you can't change it because it was formed in your gut during your gestation. You and Dr. Davis seem to be making a case that it can be changed? Btw, I also just learned of Dr. O'Mara who is very much aligned with the fermented food, HIIT exercise and carnivore style diet. I started carnivore about 4 1/2 months ago and have lost about 45 pounds but have plateaued. I think of this diet more as a sugar-fast and am looking forward to starting the L.Reuteri and see where this all goes. I am currently seeing a Dr. at Mayo clinic as well as my "usual" rheumatologist and they are concerned that even though I am on a strong biologic my ANA, CRP, Inflammation Markers are insanely high they are considering if I may have Lupus. I am hopeful that this regimen will help?!
Wow that's a weird thing for your doctor to believe! All the stuff you're doing is really good. Look up Mary Ruddick to learn more about altering the microbiome, she's amazing!
Hi Dr. Davis, thanks for your videos. We tried your process (from your book and podcasts) using a sous vide wand in a pot of water but when the fermented dairy was done (at 36 hours) the temperature was 125 degrees!!! Here's what we did. We used a sous vide wand in a pot of water. I tested this prior to the diary placing a quart mason jar with about 24 oz of water in it into the water in the pot with the sous vide wand. I set the sous vide wand to 104 degrees and after an hour the water in the jar sitting in the water in the pot got to about 100 degrees. I check this 3-4 times thinking this can work. Following your recipe, did the process with the 10 crushed tablets, 2 different capsules and inulin. We placed the mixture into 2 qt mason jars (half each) and 36 hours finished this morning. We kept checking the sous vide pot water temp, which was 105 and the dairy in the jars at around 104. At 36 hours after removing the jars and checking the temp, the fermented dairy was 125 degrees!!!! We killed our very first batch of L reuteri. We are very bummed but realize it could be any number of things. Maybe as the dairy hardens in the jars it retains more heat??? We used half 100% Grass-fed Ultra Pasteurized whole milk mixed with ultra pasteurized organic heavy cream (16oz each). Just guessing. I thought the sous vide method was going to work wonderfully since others on YT did this. Donna Schwenk recommends (in podcasts/TH-cam) a few different yogurt makers and I've seen similar on Amazon but none have temp controls like a sous vide or an Instant Pot Pro where one can dial in precise temps. Any thoughts? Suggestions welcome!
I use the sous vide inside the instant pot with it off Ofcourse, and covered with towels. I think the insulation makes the sous vide not over activated perhaps? I’ve had good luck with this method.
Higher fat from the cream would make the temp go up I would imagine as fat does get hot easily. I’m not an expert but I would guess lowering the temperature would be a logical next experiment?
@@barb987 I sleep through the night now, unlike before eating the yogurt when I wake up intermittently then have trouble going back to sleep. I just eat half a cup before bed and I just fall asleep. No more live wire brain for hours before falling asleep. I will not stop making this yogurt for as long as I can. I give my dog a tbsp twice a day too. It’s another reason to make it
@@magelinekelley7536 This is so encouraging. Thanks for your reply. Still trying to gets my hands on what I need to start. My whole family needs it for all different reasons. Just listening to some older podcasts of Dr. Davis! 😘
I just made my first batch of reuteri and it turned out REALLY WELL!! I’m so shocked! I was expecting it to separate a bit but nothing at all! I’ve already noticed a happier mood, libido increase and more. Can’t wait to see how it keeps improving. Thank you SO MUCH for this!
Use half and half and set temperature between 100 to 102 F with instant pot or yoghurt maker for 36 hours and use good reviews L. Reuteri capsules. I added 7 capsules for my first batch and Inuse acacia powder instead of insulin and it came just perfect to my amazement.. it works every time.. I am enjoying the yoghurt benefits already :)
What is the difference in the L Reuteri strain that is in the BioGaia probiotics that Dr Davis suggests vs the L Reuteri Superfood Starter that is made by Cutting Edge Cultures
Also, the “myreuteri” product available on Dr Davis’ website doesn’t specify the specific strain that he initially was dogmatic about- any info on that please?
@@MariaWalker-qo3vi I started researching the same question. So far found this: For an interesting article on this, Google "L. reuteri, do strains matter?" (He wrote it.)
Hi there I have been making this 'yoghurt' since Dec 23 and after the 1st batch which I used fresh milk, I have been using full cream pd milk each time with 1 tab. Spoon inulin. The mix is lovely and thick. I was also able to buy 'Super Gut ' on line in Oz too. :)
I eat a couple cups of kefir a day second fermented with beet powder, moringa and cocoa. A couple teaspoons of each. Then I mix in a half cup of lreutri, some monkfruit for sweetener, and make icecream. I am addicted
Sounds amazing, but i highly suggest you look into sally norton and eo nutrition about oxylates. Unfortunatly cocoa is about the highest oxylate food you can eat. I was a previous chocolate lover, and was shocked at what happened when i cut it out along with sweet potato (painful journey)
@cynthiadavis3102 yes ive read about some specific ones, i figure if im eating kefir, l ruteri yoguet, and sourkrout i'll be getting at least some extra help dealing with oxylates
Dr Davis’ probiotic yogurt was exactly what I needed to heal my gut! Thank you for sharing your expertise and caring attitude. Donna, thank you as well!
There is a 2022, University of Vermont study that shows L reuteri could be linked to Multiple Sclerosis via a tryptophan pathway. I have tried to post a link to that article on this channel twice now and the comment was deleted.
The University of Vermont were studying mice that were already susceptible to MS. They were not studying probiotic use in humans. If you are a mouse living at the University of Vermont that is genetically altered to develop autoimmune disease then you should probably not participate in the gut microbiome experiments or you may make your MS symptoms worse. Vermont University was not feeding the experimental mice home made reuterii yoghurt.
Thank you. I've had a stuffy nose since COVID, - 4 and a half years now. The doctor said Flonase. Nope. Looking forward to getting this probiotic, and even getting to the yoghurt making stage 😄. Also have low testosterone, sarcopenia, osteopenia, so thank you!
I would love to know if this will restore my Thyroid that was irradiated in 2005! My Thyroid is still in my neck, but it was massively irradiated. Next week I start the yogurt!! I am improving just with the suppliments, in such a fast pace I can't believe it! I've been sick for a very long years.. and now I'm healing in days....!
Wanted to mention some info I found on Dr berg’s channel about “high dose” vitamin D. I’ve been seeing people taking this along with iodine that has greatly improved their health after thyroidectomy. New studies abound on what used to be considered high doses of vit D. Taking 30,000 IU’s daily myself. 🤗
@ Hi, yes I did make it and ate it for about 9 months. Eight of those months I was very consistent in having half a cup every day (then I simply got too busy to make it). But right away I noticed some improvements. I began to remember my dreams, and little by little more hair on my arms, and head, began to sprout and grow. I didn’t know hair growth could be a side effect and it was welcomed. Also I noticed very quick and easy muscle growth on my legs just by walking on a treadmill! I am a woman in my mid forties by the way. I didn’t notice more oxytocin and desire for social connection, which is one of the benefits I wanted to experience. I also was hoping my sleep would improve but I didn’t experience that while eating the yogurt. I do want to add that my sleep has improved very much, recently, and it’s due to having started a meditation practice. Five days into meditating I was suddenly able to sleep in again, and also my dreams have become more deep and rich. I mention that because I believe that the fact that I accumulate stress, very easily, affects my sleep and also affects my desire to socialize and connect with people. The meditation practice allows for reduced stress. I plan to start making the yogurt again soon. Then, I will compare how a more relaxed body responds to the yogurt in regard to oxytocin, compassion and social connection. Thank you for asking. I will update here again!
I wonder if the decrease in appetite has to do with increased nutrient absorbsion. If you can efficiently absorb nutrients you don't have to eat as much.
Hold a place for me . Will hustle over when the card comes. Have a list and membership ready . L. Reut is spectacular. I love yogurt anyway. But this is so much more. Thank you.
Greatest video !! I am so motivated to continue finding the answer to my health problems in food , yogurts, fermented food and other foods that have so much to give us.
So far I have been doing this for 3 weeks, will post more after. I am making this with organic Buffalo milk. I use my muscles a lot ( pro harpist, opera singer and dancer) I usually need recovery time, but no recovery time now, muscles are stronger. Vivid dreams. I'm allergic to dairy but can do goat cheese, but a friend makes Reuteri yogurt with Buffalo Milk, and he swears by it. Buffalo milk has 45% more protein and calcium, less cholesterol, better enzymes. My skin is going through something , shedding, I need to exfoliate more. I feel full more, and don't feel like I have to eat as much. I will report back in a few months.
Thanks for the info! How many batches can you make from previous before you have to start again with the tablets? Also, I'm having a hives reaction after eating the L. reuteri ferment. Has anybody experienced the same? I suppose I need to switch to a plant-based milk to make it?
I've made the coconut version twice now. The first one was great so I made it again but followed Luvele's recipe where the coconut cream isn't separated. The first time I separated the cream and only used that plus about 50% organic soy milk. So, 50% solid coconut cream and 50% soy milk. I used agar agar to thicken each time and Acacia pre-biotic. I don't want to buy inulin or potato starch since I have acacia in the house. The second time I used 2 tbsp. of the first yogurt plus 1 L. Reuteri tablet just in case it needed additional L. Reuteri. but this time it separated less than 24 hours into the ferment. Donna or Dr. Davis (or anyone), do you think adding sunflower lecithin before fermentation would prevent it from separating? Next time I'll go back to the first recipe I used.
I bought a new instant pot with sous vide function and the result is great. I have very little separation now and once blended it is creamy and smooth. I've been making it saving the first batch as starter for the next batch(es) using the saved starter for each batch until it is gone then I start over with L. Reuteri tablets. Using 50% coconut cream and 50% organic soy milk (organic is safe and healthy to eat. Previous soy studies have been disproved showing it is harmful) makes a very thick and creamy yogurt.
Donna, great video. My mother is experiencing repeated bladder infections. It’s horrible to watch her suffer so much. Dr. Davis mentioned L. Cris Spotus a bacteria that could help those that have repeated bladder infections. And, he mentioned you can take it orally. Where do I get L. Cris Spotus? I know you’re busy but I hope you can direct me as to where I can obtain this bacteria. Thank you immensely for your help.

Could you guys get in touch with Sabine Hazan to work together with clinical research? She has two clinical research companies, studies fecal transplants and the effect they have on reversing many, many diseases. It is all so very fascinating.
I'm loving the l. reuteri yogurt; ran across Dr. Davis on a recent Dr. Berg show. I just heard Dr. Davis mention l. crispatus in this interview. OMG, bingo! I've dealt with these issues since having my three babies in the '70s and '80s, and in the '90s had bladder surgery, and now that I'm 67 I'm having some of the typical vaginal issues he mentioned. Just ordered this on Amazon. Can't wait to try it.
Followed your recipe. Out of the 8 , 6-ounce jars, there is 1 that was more sour than the rest. Very noticeably sour. All of them had some separation. They were all submerged in 98 to 100-degree water in a flat-style yogurt maker for 36 hours. They all tasted great to me Perhaps I didn't mix them thoroughly, although I did crush them to a fine powder.. Nonetheless, would the one that was the sourest be the best one to use to make my second batch, as it may have the highest concentration of L. reuteri, and make the second batch less separated and more potent? TY
The thing is, usually what is anabolic decreases lifespan. For instance there is a study on mice where giving them extra testosterone decreased lifespan by a lot. IGF-1 and growth hormone also tend to decrease lifespan. I would like to know how a kefir yogurt would affect lifespan in animal models. Supposedly people above 65 years old benefit from more protein to fight sarcopenia so in that case more anabolism would be a good thing.
Excellent video. One of the very few with a discussion on fungal infections of the skin linked to the micro bio. Hi Donna, I’m new to your site and this channel and was wondering where do I get the starter for the bifido bacteria to culture? I bought the other starters off your website and waiting for them to arrive, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
I drank some rueteri whey on my first batch, it made me so sick i thought i was going to die. Hope this gets to someone and can maybe expand on what happened to me.
It is possible that you had a herxeimer reaction. That happened to me when I started drinking kefir. Because I have SIBO and Candida overgrowth, I was advised to start off real slow. I didn't know that when I started. It is possible that is what happened to you. I think it's something that should be mentioned, but I haven't seen it mentioned so far in any videos on kefir or yogurt.
Donna, I have a question for Dr Davis, can we grow Pendulum Akkermansia same way as SIBO? I saw some online discussions about this subject, it seems that some of them succeeded… What is your take as well 🙌🏻
I am a 25 year Firefighter. The years of shiftwork have affected me with sleep dysfunction. Im 56. I am on week 3 of this yogurt and hoping to get the sleep benefits along with the other benefits. Bad sleep starts a snowball effect, and I have noticed them bad as I have aged. What would I add to the L-Reuteri to help with more sleep?
I'm in the process of making this yogurt . I checked the temp. at 12 hours and it was 94 degrees and at 24 hours, it was 97 degrees. Does it need to start out at 100 degrees for 36 hours or work up to that temp. during the 36 hour fermentation ?
I've personally found that if you start with the milk heated to 100 degrees you will have a successful batch. I've done it without heating it up initially and it didn't come out with the same consistency.
@@nicolescarano9995 I have been researching different strains for different conditions. I learned about Lactobacillus helveticus R0052. It seems like it can help with blood pressure. In his book, he recommends to buy this brand "InnovixLabs Mood Probiotic Supplement". It has the strain. You can make Yogurt off of it.
I'm a beginner; can you take a supplement for this; or yogurt from the store (i have never had yogurt before!); I do not know how to make any of this. Ty
Omg wow I need to learn how to make this stuff! I just started making kefir & well.. it’s been a little of a learning curve but I’m doing it consistently!
U should post a picture

Hi there. Was it hard to make?
Where do you buy those?
The only BioGaia Osfortis I can find is for women's bone health. It has the L reuteri, is that the one you bought?
More details please. Description of product & recipe. Can you add this to prior ferment
What are the ingredients? Is inulin fiber included in the recipe?
I am just now on my 3rd day of my first L. Reuteri yogurt.I am 76. I have nearly a quart in the fridge. I will keep making it in cycles. I have such hope. I am primarily carnivore so I eat no wheat or sugar or carbs. I have severe long term fibromyalgia. I suffer overall relentless inflammatory pain, uncontrollable gout, high diastolic readings, and severe weakness. I have hope now.
Are you doing Dr Davis SIBO yogurt or just the l. reuteri? From reading his book it sounds like you've got symptoms of overgrowth.

This is so encouraging to hear about psoriasis. I have terrible scalp psoriasis and I am making my first batch today.. praying it works!
I appreciate knowing how it affected Donna personally bc she eats tons of good probiotics but says this strain made a true noticable improvement.
Hi Kimberly🤗 I hope you’ve gotten some help (and benefits from the L Reuteri) since your post. 🙏
Since he recommends Reutri to be heated at 100 degrees, I worried about killing Reuteri, so I make Reuteri seperate from the other strains and then just mix the two when I get ready to eat it
What an insight, thanks.
Is your L Reuteri after 36 hours of fermentation...coming like cottage cheese consistency? My first batch was so creamy compared to what I get now...

@@PardieDiem so funny indeed. My stupid auto-correct and me...not reading back.
Davis and in the comments.
awesome tip
The fermentation time I believe is not for consistency, more life bacterial count. With 36 hours the count do a really high jump.

Your place is 106 degrees, this product doesn’t culture at room temperature??
The first batch took me awhile to get into the hang of but my last batch went so much faster. I appreciate you!
Are you finding it helpful for long COVID? I have a family member who needs help with that. ❤
Thank you. Please provide a basic amount for the recipe. ❤
Very interesting!

Wow, this was amazing conversation. I have been listening to you for years and spreading your word. Passing this onto everyone!
Try red light on your face. Look into a good light . It may help to use infra red light on your sinuses
I would like to know too!
Same!
Make my L. Rueteri with a sous vide method. Has stopped my body itch and I'm only just finished my second batch.
Not even medical schools teach anything about them… 🤔
@@ethereumrise7860that’s what I thought too (lactic acid build-up)!?
The soreness is due to lactic acid buildup
The most important thing that you can do, prior to and once you build your flora back to stable levels, is stop putting substances in your body that destroy the flora. Alcohol, antibiotics, white vinegar, smoking, some medications, chlorinated water, and essential oils. There are several more that plummet your PH levels and contributes to the problem.

Very consistent temp. I am really glad I stuck with it for the second batch and didn’t get discouraged with the kinda weird sweet taste, because it’s delicious and creamy. ☺️
Have you noticed any benefits yet? Thanks for the info too!🤗
I really want to try this L Reuteri. I am 77 and have been carnivore now for 8 months but am still having skin and gut issues.
OMG!!! The Dr will get a huge surprise when you present with a much healthier body!!!
The L Reuteri is supposed to die at about 109 - 110 F
I use the sous vide inside the instant pot with it off Ofcourse, and covered with towels. I think the insulation makes the sous vide not over activated perhaps? I’ve had good luck with this method.
Higher fat from the cream would make the temp go up I would imagine as fat does get hot easily. I’m not an expert but I would guess lowering the temperature would be a logical next experiment?

@@GoodVibesOnly1914I too have been eating kefir and sauerkraut every day for months now. Looking forward to adding more L. Reuteri to that routine …
Dr Davis’ probiotic yogurt was exactly what I needed to heal my gut! Thank you for sharing your expertise and caring attitude. Donna, thank you as well!
You know what I'm saying just ordered my yogurt kit off Amazon can't wait My wife and I are very excited.
There is a 2022, University of Vermont study that shows L reuteri could be linked to Multiple Sclerosis via a tryptophan pathway. I have tried to post a link to that article on this channel twice now and the comment was deleted.
Yikes
Someone PLEASE answer this!!!
Which strand of L-Reuteri???
The University of Vermont were studying mice that were already susceptible to MS. They were not studying probiotic use in humans. If you are a mouse living at the University of Vermont that is genetically altered to develop autoimmune disease then you should probably not participate in the gut microbiome experiments or you may make your MS symptoms worse. Vermont University was not feeding the experimental mice home made reuterii yoghurt.
Мне хотелось бы чтобы ваше интервью не кончалось 👍🏼 Столько полезной и правдивой информации, столько позитива. Слушала с удовольствием 😊 Спасибо!
I am currently processing the second batch of "yogurt" using raw potato. The first batch is fairly tasteless, but will be drinking it until finished.
It is soo valuable to hear this. God bless you both for supporting the health of all of us.
Also, what supplements are you taking, if you don’t mind me asking?
Thank you! What a wonderful talk
I am very hopeful for my future now. Thank you for all the information
Have you made the yogurt (fermented milk) yet? If so, how’re you doing now? Any benefits?
Great thought!
@@celestebinus3072I was just going to say great thought too!
Hold a place for me . Will hustle over when the card comes. Have a list and membership ready . L. Reut is spectacular. I love yogurt anyway. But this is so much more. Thank you.
Dr. Davis and Donna, you guys rock. I'm off to the groceries and make that yogurt!!!!!
Thank you Donna and Dr. Davis. I’m wondering if L. Reuteri can help balance hormones?
Can you make it without dairy... Such as coconut or nuts or seeds
Just finished fermenting a batch of Super Gut Yogurt!
I noticed being warmer as well. Is it because thyroid is improving? As I am a little hypothyroid
Loved this video! I’m going to order this today and get right on this healing journey! I have suffered from sibo for 4 years and I’m so done with it, hoping this will help kill it.
Can I use agave inulin as the probiotic in my L reuteri?
Absolutely, l believe it is the best!
TY
Use a yogurt machine easier
Has anyone tried using sugar as a starter instead of a prebiotic fiber for those with sensitive guts?
The thing is, usually what is anabolic decreases lifespan. For instance there is a study on mice where giving them extra testosterone decreased lifespan by a lot. IGF-1 and growth hormone also tend to decrease lifespan. I would like to know how a kefir yogurt would affect lifespan in animal models.
Supposedly people above 65 years old benefit from more protein to fight sarcopenia so in that case more anabolism would be a good thing.
So glad I found this video. Great podcast! Have ordered my Bio Gaia Gastrus to get started on my yoghurt making health journey!
I eat goat Kefir from grains, I eat every day. Just got Sepsis from a virus, left the hospital on the 3rd day!
Are you saying you might have gotten the virus from the goat milk kefir? Please let us know how you’re doing! 🤗
Excellent video. One of the very few with a discussion on fungal infections of the skin linked to the micro bio. I have discovered i have zero yeast / fungus in my gut, yet have a very stubborn infection of the groin. I am working on boosting up my benificials and eating lots more fibre foods. Hoping my body will clear this eventually. Please give me some tips of your opinion. Thankyou
How much should we eat daily? I made my first batch, it's so good, I could eat a ton, but I'm afraid to over do it.
Dr Davis’ book, Super Gut, says 1/2 cup per day.
@@jenniferbond2311 Thank you! I have his book, but haven't had a chance to read it yet.
QUESTION....is sterilization of jars, utensils necessary or just heating them in the oven ok...? Thanks
Hi Donna, I’m new to your site and this channel and was wondering where do I get the starter for the bifido bacteria to culture? I bought the other starters off your website and waiting for them to arrive, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Would love to have a long list of testimonials.
Do you have to eat the super yogurt with food? and if you add blueberries and raspberries, is that sufficient enough food?
I drank some rueteri whey on my first batch, it made me so sick i thought i was going to die. Hope this gets to someone and can maybe expand on what happened to me.
It is possible that you had a herxeimer reaction. That happened to me when I started drinking kefir. Because I have SIBO and Candida overgrowth, I was advised to start off real slow. I didn't know that when I started. It is possible that is what happened to you. I think it's something that should be mentioned, but I haven't seen it mentioned so far in any videos on kefir or yogurt.
In his book Super Gut, he recommends a 4 week plan to introduce the yogurt. Maybe you needed to do that prep work first?
Yes prepping is really a good idea. It will help prevent herxes.
48:52 which one is she referring to that lowers blood pressure? I want to give it to my dad.
I didn't quite catch that either! I kept rewinding that bit but got nothing. Best bet is to study his book super gut.
@@yamani3882Interesting! Thx
Hi Donna, after making the L. Reuteri yogurt how long can you store it in the refrigerator before you make another batch?
You guys are amazing!! I love your fantastic deeds with microbiome Dr. Davis!! Really changes whole life!!
greetings from Brazil!
What is The Dr’s social media / website / yt channel etc. I could not find anything in the description box. Thank you!
