    Great video. Could you explain how you got the connection from the HU for channels 1 & 2 to the LC7i? I have a 2018 Tacoma and wanting to do this set up but i can't seem to imagine how the wiring connections work to the LC7i from head unit and what specific wirings or if any additional equipment is needed to do this. I'm probably overthinking this 😅

    I’m between the 8w3 microsub or a Preloaded sealed box with a 10” TW3 fora crew cab 2013 Sierra.
    I currently have a JL RD900/5 powering a front set of C1 components and a 10” W1 in a sealed box built to specs. No rear speakers yet. The W1 is getting about 200 watts at 4 ohms. I can bearly notice it, It blends in too well. I want some more volume/impact and for it to sound a little deeper. I would port the W1, but as it is I can’t lower my rear seat, which is also something that I’m trying to achieve.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would give that W1 at least 300 watts at a 2 ohm load. Is it in a sealed enclosure? More power with polyfill and that W1 will come alive.

    I’m trying to do my first install based on your videos. I’m building my wire harness just like you did.. or trying to.. I understand all the speaker wire goes back to the lc7i and the amp as well as the yellow (power) and blue .. but what about the red and orange wires? Do you just pass them through straight from the 70-1761 to the 71-1761? Could you spell out how you wire it for a noob like myself.. thanks

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard to spell out the entire sound system because there can be miscommunication and can damage something on the vehicle. To do a system like this you honestly want to have a really good grasp on the the theory to perform it. I have a video that explains the wire colours that might help you out though. th-cam.com/video/buXRMeUCMi0/w-d-xo.html

  • @hortonj63
    @hortonj63 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very clean setup! my only concern is that you at MAX volume, you are sending a clipped or distorted signal from oem radio to the line out converter, then amp. Personally, find the highest volume before distortion, then use gain to match it and tune it.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hortonj63 Isn't that why we use an oscilloscope using a 1k frequency signal and adjust the LC7i and gains on the amp?

    • @hortonj63
      @hortonj63 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes but not at max radio volume. You should find the radios max volume before distortion, then adjust gains accordingly.

      @AnthonyJ350  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      hortonj63 But I just turned it up for the video... It is so hard to please you guys.... This is why I don't demo the systems in videos, impossible to please people with the simplest things.

    I recently purchased a 2015 Silverado and found out it has a "Regulated Voltage Control" Charging System, so while I'm driving the voltage always varies from 11.5-14 volts. I had planned on installing a JL Audio XD1000/5v2, should I be concerned about this RVC System affecting the performance of the amplifier? Or would I be better off with the JL Audio HD900/5 with RIPS Technology?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The RVC will adjust depending on loads its sees it seems. I have a 2005 Silverado which runs an earlier version of the system. If you can afford the HD I would get the HD9005/5. I would also consider Alpine's PDX V9 which is also a very efficient amplifier, I run one in my Silverado and one in my 350Z.

  • @1234halper
    @1234halper 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am curious why you went with that box instead of the stealthbox? Was it just cost wise or are the stealthboxes over rated and get the same performance out of the standard box??

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the time the rear of the new Tacoma changed and the new Stealthbox wasn't available. Wanted to show an alternative to custom or a Stealthbix because this is also significantly cheaper.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fuse the ground? The main power for the head unit is already fused. What are your thoughts on that exactly?

    • @sloppydoggy9257
      @sloppydoggy9257 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If somehow the grounds came loose, this configuration introduces the possibility of the amp grounding through that tiny wire back into the harness.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhh I see you're point. But they're on the same bolt, so wouldn't they both get loose simultaneously and arching would be the main issue? And if they're loose and secured at the same point, would the fuse do anything? In your theory the same could also happen through the RCAs.

    How do you make a t harness for the lc7i to factory radio

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I got a factory style harness and aftermarket one from Metra Electronics and made my own t-harness.

    What was your audio source? Will it play flac files?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Factory head unit, and probably not able to play flac

    why are you only powering the front stage speakers?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hitting a price point and focusing on the front is the most important as far as sound staging goes.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rears still play through the factory head unit

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need harnesses 71-1761 & 70-1761 from Metra Electronics and you have to wire in between.

    How much does a set up like this cost

    • @AnthonyJ350

      Gerry Gamo Roughly 2 grand with labour and parts.

      Do you sell that harness you made ?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gerry Gamo No I only make them in-house. Metra developed a t-harness with DSP I believe though.

    why not replace with another 6by9 speaker @1:40??

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Technically a round speaker sounds better than an oval one. A 6X9 would produce more midrange bass because it's bigger. So really it's a preference.

      JL Audio XD Series 5 channel amplifier.

    • @sethmarion2833
      @sethmarion2833 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      AnthonyJ350 quick question, why did you run a 5 channel amp instead of a 4 if your just powering 2 speakers and an amp? How did you wire the 5 channel? Thanks man

    Stealth installs are better, I don't want to SEE it... just see a 8/10in sub in my trunk.

    A woofer needs air to push and with it against the seat it’s probably not going to sound good

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you tried it with a good subwoofer and a good amp? Most factory systems in trucks put it there.
      Where would you put it in the truck without sacrificing passenger or storage space?

    Haha you guy did not even put in JL Audio Stealth box in this Tacoma false title ... just trying to get views the wrong way... I have a JL Audio Stealth box in my Tacoma. You guys made the install more complex then it is.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      LILBLUEAAA Ummm the theme is a "stealth" or "hidden" sound system. JL vehicle specific enclosures are named "Stealth Boxes" and as you can see I didn't title it that way. I thought it was a simple system. We're aware of JL's line up, our installs have been featured on their Instagram page.

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      LILBLUEAAA Would you say it's complicated because you don't understand the custom t-harness. Whether line output converter or DSP the wiring job would be the same.
