He was always singing very high and very low. he could shock you if he wanted too. the early Elvis fans that left him after the 50's rock era, never knew he would be one of the best vocalists to ever live. when I mention Elvis to people they say, "yeah I liked Houng Dog', I hate that they never knew his range or his power. It was a 23 year career. and people still don't know how he is such an icon to this day. and the greatest of all time. People like you Seph are helping bring that out.. thanks for always bringing him out to new fans. Mary🤩
wow another 🌋 and I totally agree - this is one of my favourite songs by Elvis - the power in his voice is just amazing and as per usual he makes the song his own - love it 🎵🎶💙🎤🎧
With this version ,elvis puts to shame the tony bennett version. I like also the jackie wilson version, but Elvis voice in this one is just magical with the high notes. Double volcano
You're getting some really, really top-notch Elvis lately. This one is a goosebump producer. Love it. Elvis the operatic Crooner. In 1976 he hits that high note at the end of Danny Boy. There are some others where he switches octaves and he does it so smoothly you hardly notice. Yes Tony Bennett had the original in the 50's. This is a 1940's/1950's type ballad, which Elvis turned into something special.
I love Tony Bennett, big time....... but Elvis Presley takes this Italian classic... and OWNS it. Elvis was a HUGE fan of the Rat Pack.. and many of the Italian crooners of the 1940s through the 70's. Tony B, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis so many more. Elvis was NOT just inspired by black music, as some believe. He loved venturing off into other genres and finding a way to FUSE IT with the blues, gospel and Rock.
It's top of the pile Seph. This is the song that I first heard as a 14 year old and I said to my big brother who is singing that. I bought the record and wore the damn thing out.
Steph some of these songs are only sung live but only caught from fans footage . Which yes isnt professional but you see elvis being natural and caught on stage after 73 was rare until 77
Was an old song (early 50's) by Tony Bennet, and was in Goddfellas (in the top 5 best films ever) - Elvis' version blows it away (obviously lol) - think this was the flip side to Where Did They Go Lord - only ever sang it once or twice live 75/76 - put a link in another comment for you to check - it's shorter but brilliant, even though sound not the best.
Mmm oh, yes a great reaction on a great performance and song which has not found its way on my playlists !! There is no professional film for 4 1/2 years (1973-1977 but a much vaunted amateur filmed performance on New Years Eve 1976 has an improvised sensational vocal performance, but at this stage of the concert the amateur film quality was hit and miss and this was the latter.
What a powerful voice it can melt hearts, move mountains and set the world on fire. 🔥 Great top notch song that he performed live at his New Years Eve concert in 76. Bootleg version only but rather good sound and poor video.
I fell behind because of my recent injury 😭 if everything was going smoothly i would have done a request or 2 by now. 😞 I have to keep doing what im doing just to keep my schedule 👀 i have a lot of Elvis *plans* for the next couple of months. But i dont have a great deal of time left 😅
@@SephPlays I'm hoping you meant you don't have a lot of time left *over*, what with your other reaction commitments. I'm with Barbara - that doesn't sound good.
Ohhh gosh!! Noooooo no i'm fine haha When i say that i don't have much time left i mean that i'm working on a very strict schedule. I *have* to get to his songs from 1977 before a particular date "This year". If things were running as they were meant too i would have had 50 songs left to listen to. But i'm currently sitting at 110 ishhhh. So theres definitely going to be days where i post more then 1 Elvis reaction a day "Like what happened yesterday" haha
@@Barbara-lb5yt I fell over and hurt my shoulder, had a ligament tear. But thats healing nicely now, its still extremely painful but i have full movement back in it 😄 Ohhhhh and ya, i cant reallllllyyyyyyy say much, but lets just say i have something kinda *Cool* planned for a certain date this year. Nothing *Big* but something that i have had planned for a little over 2 years. But for it to work i have to be into 1977 by this Date. Otherwise my plan will have to be postponed 😭
live version here for you (new years eve 1976) - never been released as far as I know as it's a 'good' audience recording with film - th-cam.com/video/C0NjS5zC-vg/w-d-xo.html
He’s like a sportscar… from 0 to 100 in a second. ❤
*THE MOST BEAUTIFUL POWERFUL VOICE EVER*
One of his most underrated love songs .

Another fantastic example of the power and magic of the Elvis voice. ❤❤❤
« Love letters » in this album is so good ❤
Fabulous vocal performance.
👑✌️
Elvis' "I'm Hurt" starts similar...you'll get to it 😉
I had that 8 track back in the day, but did not remember this one. Its a great display of his vocals. ❤
When the Elvis performs like this im incapabale of breathing he takes your breath away.TCB&TLC
I love that album
Elvis sings this even better live in the CountDown 1976 NYE concert where here his voice goes even higher than the origanal
wow another 🌋 and I totally agree - this is one of my favourite songs by Elvis - the power in his voice is just amazing and as per usual he makes the song his own - love it 🎵🎶💙🎤🎧
Sweety, Another Banger!!! His voice is heavenly!! Such heart and soul in his voice! ❤❤❤❤❤!
Wow that is all I gotta say❤
So many fantastic Elvis reactions in one day!! Thank you, Seph!!
Ur reaction to this is wonderful and it's such a great song he blows my mind every time l hear it
That last note was in "falsetto", Elvis was very adept at it, "Blue Moon" being a prime example!
My favourite Elvis song. Fantastic and the lyrics really apply to Elvis.
I love this one so much! It starts off running and never stops! Showing off his higher register. 😊❤️
Love the haircut Seph!
You've had some great songs to react to tonight Seph I love Elvis in the seventies well I love him full stop ❤
Another beautiful song! ELVIS voice is so powerful it,s amazing! ❤Love this song!
Wow! wow! wow one of my favourites, just incredible ❤
Isn't it great to get goosebumps!?
Love your reactions!☀️💚
He only did this song live one time, New Years eve. Pittsburgh Dec. 31, 1976.
Thanks Seph. If you want to hear Elvis hit a very high note. Then try Hurt. and How great thou art. 1977 LIVE.
I saw him when he sang Hurt and to hear it live was even more powerful ❤

Love EP singing this..... stunning vocals again 💯⚡❤️
Edit: Love your new haircut, Seph.... looking good 🙂
There's a really good impromptu live performance that you can check out here on youtube. From 1976 if I recall. Really good also.
Tony Bennett did the song in 1953. Elvis' take was a thousand times better.
But of course ❤
Hurt, starts out like Rags To Riches
Cuando llegues a 1976 tenes que reaccionar a su version en vivo
S rang for me, so inreadable

....... This song is a vegas standard to the crooners in the 70s, Elvis breathed new life into it, albeit Tony Bennette certainly did it justice too.
Steph some of these songs are only sung live but only caught from fans footage . Which yes isnt professional but you see elvis being natural and caught on stage after 73 was rare until 77
I know this is heresy, but while i really like Tony Bennet's version I LOVE Elvis' take!

DEPECHE MODE SO CRUEL
You should try listening to Elvis sing HURT it will blow you away.
He will - when he gets to that year.
I saw him sing it live, more powerful then on record ❤
I am sure the singer Tony Bennett had the original version of this song. However, l love Elvis version best just love it.
