I love hearing the little sayings and phrases, that come out of these reactions. At 7:48 when Wallace's old friend gets in the way of him approaching his future wife, you hear the term "Bone in the kebab". As simple as it is, I love that saying! I'm definitely going to start using it! Sometimes things can get lost in translation, which is understandable. However in this case it was interesting to hear something that you immediately understand even though it comes from a completely different frame of reference. It's just like in the west we might say "A fly in the ointment" or "A spanner in the works". Although "A bone in the kebab" is different it's immediately recognisable. Also, I absolutely love kebabs, I am English after all! 🍖🌮🌯
I think what Badshah said at the end about Wallace using his mind and weapon is interesting, because at the real Battle of Stirling he tricked the English into crossing a bridge so they didn’t have coherence and then attacked from the nearby woods in an ambush. It’s a shame they didn’t show the battle that way in the movie. Really glad you guys enjoyed it!
Stirling bridge was actually Andrew de Moray's plan and had he survived the battle, the war of independence may have gone a completely different way, Moray had all the qualities that Wallace was missing, he was a senior noble from a family that had always staunchly rejected the English, he was a seasoned soldier and commander and he also had 3 castles to his name by the time he met up with Wallace.
A historical society discovered the remains of the original sterling bridge a couple of years ago , it was barely wide enough to get two horses side by side across it . I agree they should've shown how the real battle of sterling bridge happened. Much better than making up a version with 2 armies facing each other . The real battle of sterling bridge shows the clever tactical side of Wallace .

To this day, if you walk through Edinburgh castle, flanking the doors are statues of Sir William Wallace, & King Robert the Bruce. No, their stories are not accurately told here, as I'm sure the experts in the comments will say. However, after 700 years, we'll never know precisely who Wallace was. And we'll never know precisely what motivated Bruce. All we have are pieces of folklore, and fragments of accepted history. As a Scot I appreciate this movie, which tries to generate a compelling story around historical characters. There are excellent Scottish history documentaries & books out there, if people are genuinely interested in Scottish history. I've never understood why people use the lack of accuracy in this movie as a criticism. It isn't a documentary.
No, but it is revisionist, and those not knowing the history might well think it fairly accurate. I used to work near Smithfield, and I often looked at the plaque there, that commemorated Wallace. Wat Tyler also came to mind...
As historian Dan Snow said, he likes the film and it it was set in a time in which the English were particularly brutal towards the Scots which the film reflects. The battles happened. Scots using pikes was a thing. Wallace was real and he died in the way the film describes. It showed the nobles selling out the common people and cross-border landownership politics was accurately highlighted by the film. Other things are details but the basic premise and narrative is accurate. Besides the film has a disclaimer at the very start about it saying some of the events you won't have heard about as 'History was written by those who hang heroes'. Finally, sorry to all the English boys who cry cos you're the baddies for once. Maybe go and watch a World War 2 film to wipe those tears away and remind yourself what a good person you are and for what you pretend you did in the war.
@@mw5549 I'm English & no tears from me.. The Scottish invaded England many times also, raping, looting & murdering English civilians. That is what i meant about the movies bias.
We get taught our REAL history in school , half of this take us 100pc correct , the other half is nonsense made by Hollywood , like Wallace’s son being born to the princess , that’s just comical rubbish . His rebellion , his victories and his eventual betrayal by fellow Scot’s and his savage death are all true . Even though I know Mel Gibson embellished and played loose with this Scottish tale I still get misty eyed at parts of the film . There’s an enormous statue of Wallace in Scotland called the Wallace monument you can look up online or go to visit in person , very moving . I seen the guys get emotional especially at the end , because this is a universal story of man’s wish to be free and fight against tyranny and injustice . Great reaction guys 👍🏴
"it is not treatment because they are dead..." hahah, such good content i hope these gentlemen know that their earnest conversations are insightful for us all...
I find these remarkable. Neither of them really know anything about Scotland or the history and YET... they have NO trouble following the character emotions, the themes and the morals of the story. Stories really are universal. Peace.
I appreciate their comments and their way of thinking. I always learn something from them and that's why their three channels are my favorites on all of You Tube.
I love this movie even if is upsetting at times, and even if much of it is pure fiction. I would love to see you react to more historical movies, and also perhaps videos about the true stories that inspired the movies. William Wallace has a very large monument in the town of Stirling in Scotland which is only about about 45 minutes from where I stay. Also - fun fact - a lot of this film was actually shot in Ireland because in Scotland we have tiny little biting insects called midges. They're not dangerous at all but they are really really irritating!!
@@mattnar3865 It's really not though. Mel Gibson wildly exaggerates the villainy of the English (particularly of King Edward), most egregiously with the entirely fictional law of ius primae noctis in some kind of semi-genocidal plan to breed out the Scots (there is no historical evidence for it actually existing anywhere at all in medieval Europe; in fact the only legitimate historical references for it I've ever seen are from the ancient world before the birth of Christ, and even these are extremely dubious). He also wildly exaggerates the heroism of the Scottish and of William Wallace in particular, and does a serious disservice to Robert the Bruce, who I would argue is the true hero of the Scottish side. Not to mention that basically all the minor superficial details like clothing, armour and battlefield geography are completely made up. Online amateur historians have nitpicked these things endlessly, and the authenticity is indeed comically bad, but they're not what we should be focussing on compared to the completely made up history of the course of the war which has real impacts on how real people view English-Scottish history and relations. It is not exaggeration or hyperbole to say that a not-insignificant number of modern Scottish separatists were inspired by the almost completely fictional events of this specific movie.
@@sulphuric_glue4468The film is Anglo phobic. I cant think of any other film where they would get away with saying "Do I gey to kill lots of English" and its meant to be a witty comment. and this channel bring us real genuine reactions, so great, good job
Another spectacular reaction from these fine gentleman. 👍👍
I don't know what motivated Robert the Bruce but I'm pretty sure it got something to do with watching a spider weave its web.
No, but it is revisionist, and those not knowing the history might well think it fairly accurate.
I used to work near Smithfield, and I often looked at the plaque there, that commemorated Wallace. Wat Tyler also came to mind...
Because its biased & people believe it as truth, it isn't!
I would do anything to watch that movie for the first time again. One of my all time favourites. Great choice!
Love these guys 😊👍🇨🇦🙏🏻
Great reaction guys
👍🏴
Badshah is really good at usually following whats happening in our western movies
Amazing reaction of this film from these Indians and their commentary and awareness were top notch! Namaste! 🙏
"it is not treatment because they are dead..." hahah, such good content
i hope these gentlemen know that their earnest conversations are insightful for us all...
"Bone in kebab!" I'm adding that phrase to my vocabulary 😅
Triple R. Great movie and also bahubali, or something like that. Its an Indian made film. Great movie from the east
I find these remarkable. Neither of them really know anything about Scotland or the history and YET... they have NO trouble following the character emotions, the themes and the morals of the story. Stories really are universal. Peace.
They won’t learn anything about Scottish history watching this movie
@@tevildo45 yeah but you can pss off you troll prck " Tevildo, also known as the "Prince of Cats"
Neither did mel Gibson
This movie didn't know much about Scotland or its history either.
24:28 I believe it's actually called a "long sword" Badshah dude 👍😅
I swear I must be psychic, I was just wondering yesterday when you guys would watch Braveheart
This was so incredibly charming to watch
I appreciate their comments and their way of thinking. I always learn something from them and that's why their three channels are my favorites on all of You Tube.
I love Watching Badshah react, He seems like a nice guy, a gentle Giant.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. These dudes are alright.
I love that I’m not the only ones who claps during movies
Badshah is so observant and intelligent. He is awesome
Amazing people,
I like their insight into one of my favorite movies.
Lurch was very philosophical. 👍🏻🫡
YEEEES THE OLD INTRO IS BACK! Now all i need is more Babu.
Ah the Battle of Stirling Bridge, without a bridge
The joy I felt watching them watch this film was great. Thank you
Being from Scotland myself , I am really looking forward to seeing your reaction
👍🏴
I love this movie even if is upsetting at times, and even if much of it is pure fiction. I would love to see you react to more historical movies, and also perhaps videos about the true stories that inspired the movies. William Wallace has a very large monument in the town of Stirling in Scotland which is only about about 45 minutes from where I stay. Also - fun fact - a lot of this film was actually shot in Ireland because in Scotland we have tiny little biting insects called midges. They're not dangerous at all but they are really really irritating!!
this isn't' a "historical" movie, it's a fantasy movie though. lol. Literally almost nothing in it actually happened.
@@scepteredisle Sure it's not historically accurate but enough of it is true for your sentence to be wrong.
@@scepteredisle You didn't read my full comment did you...
I wonder if in a film someone said "Do I get to kill lots of Pakistanis" it would be allowed? The film is completely racist. It should be banned.
I love these guys! I think because you see their wonderment, and hear them talk about it, it's like watching the movie for the first time again.
But more than that, I feel like I know these guys now.
These guys are fantastic. What a great review, it was fun to watch
watching these guys reaction's has been a daily favorite haha lots of wisdom in eastern culture that many here in America do not appreciate
Now with regard to actual history. King Edward is my 22nd Great Grand Father. Wiliam Wallace is my 1st Cousin x25 times removed, and King Robert Bruce is my 21st Great Grand Father, all on my paternal grandmother's side. So its like watching ancient ancestor's killing each other....
If they loved this have them watch Ben Hur the original not the new one. They will love it.
When he talks about a King has to keep Track of snakes i was taken back to the Godfather quote about friends and enemies
Dgod i love these people from the villages. So eager to learn. But these movies say more about them than just the movies they watch. The reactions are priceless. Honest and bring much more to the movies than i ever took away from them.
I have really come to love the guys.
I like you guys, hello from Ireland
I searched for 'Villagers react to Braveheart' 3 days ago. Now it's here....
Spooky
You made it happen.
@@mindtraveller100 I was worried it was some kind of AI thing haha
Fantastic ! I'm sure they will love Gladiator too, in the same spirit, fighting for honor and revenge in the Ancient Rome Empire 😉; by the way I like the new set-up with all the movie's posters ans lights !
@@caveatlector2671 I'll add my recommendation to yours.
Troy ☝
I really love watching you gents react to movies! you take each one as they are and react as should be! Reminds me of watching Star Wars and Indiana Jones for the first time! You understand the story and embrace the magic as it should be embraced. Love this one especially as being Scottish seen it a thousand times before but really loved the lads reaction as the story of Wallace is the story of all oppressed nations and perhaps an ideal of liberty which is universal! Thanks again guys 🙂
