I got snow and ice tires on my z28 bought it like that and I’m too broke to change it for now

When I went to FD Seattle 2022 the tire company’s were giving away the old used ones and I got one it was a amazing experience

The rear fenders on competition drift cars are always caked with a thick crust of rubber, it's crazy

A lot of those will be shredded up and used for things like play area floors. So doing skids stops kids from getting hurt 😆

Good. FD is dumb. I'd rather see racing than fancy sliding. Not to mention EV racing means you can race without the noise pollution now, and no risk of racegas fumes! Win-win!

and that's what I call brand new racing slicks
wrong, they manage the power output as the tyres limits them to 4 laps (they need to be able to do a rerun)... We had an opponent who had to drift in 4th gear instead of 5th because of the extra tyre degradation of spinning the wheels in 5th gear.

@@Night-tq6pw tires can be recycled and turned into other things. Some playgrounds use recycled tire rubber mulch. Id guess drift tires can't be retreaded. I might be wrong though.
@@Night-tq6pw yes but no. Tires cannot be melted down into new tires of same quality and durability. This is extremely wasteful. Vulcanized rubber is different.

@@Greeko_Poloz Not often and the process is expensive, bad for the environment, as well as toxic. Rubber is one of the worst forms of pollution humans have come up with. Unfortunately we don't have a way to safely recycle, dissolve, or replace rubber.

Too bad oil for tires isn’t really infinite. Mind you I like watching drift cars but yes tire waste is a big part of it
I’m pretty sure the rubber it laid to waste didn’t get recycled. I didn’t realize you went around recycling the smoke it causes which stinks like crap. Considering what went into making them how long used and then “recycled”. It really is a waste. I live next to someone who has stacks of these craps and they end up a breeding ground for other crap. You actually have to pay to dump these as well they aren’t freely recycled.
Honest to God question for people who drift. Do you use a tyre that provides the best grip? Like Nt01 or Toyo 888R Pilot sport cup2? Or do you guys use the worst performance like nexen as seen, or milestar or Ironman if they make one. It be self explanatory. Having a tyre that doesn't grip cause that's technically what's happening.

Hard non sticky tire is exactly what you don't want. It would be like driving on ice with summertires.
You want soft and sticky tire for speed and control.

There is a company here in the USA that buys/receives used tires. They have a machine that separates the steel belt and nylon cap and grinds up the rubber. That rubber is used for Mulch for playgrounds, a certain percentage of rubber goes in the manufacture of Asphalt, when soft sidewalks and tennis courts are made the ground up rubber is used.
