Aurora's song version of "Into the Unknown" would have fit nicely into the end credits of the movie. So glad I got it into my iTunes with most of her other covers when I did . . . {-.-}
Her covers are excellent. She always walks that fine line between doing something new and her own....and honoring the original. Her take on God Is A Woman is pretty wonderful. I love the vibe of that cover. The original is a pretty great pop song, though it doesn't move me much. But Aurora's take on it is super cool....something sensual and playful about it that I love.
Aurora is the only singer, other than the original, who does justice to Teardrop. In fact, understandably (& with respect I say), as the original singer has aged even she doesn't carry the sound & emotion of this song as she did in her youth
The camera work during this performance really needs a shout out, especially for a radio station performance! And Aurora, once again, absolutely adds their own flourishes to an iconic song. Simply wow.
This is perhaps my favorite cover of all time, by any singer. How Aurora slides her notes in this song, is incredible. It is absolutely magic. I like the beat as well, I simply loved this from the start. Even the interview was impressive 😊
The identity of Banksy has been shared knowledge in the Bergen music scene since the late 1990s. You see, Banksy popped up on several occasions (including on release parties for Røyksopp albums and in the musical collectives around Mikal Telle. In terms of "degrees of separation", Aurora is "one away" from Banksy from at least partly belonging to the same "Bergen-school". I thumbed up once you declared yourself a MA fan - a lady of culture. And I totally agree - Teardrop was released originally almost completely "Aurorafied". All she had to do was to induce her sliding tonal lifts and some "kulning" (yodels) to claim it while honouring the original that really does not need improvement but do handle interpretations.
And Mikael Telle is a main founding member of MADE (Aurora's management) I heard some of the artworks Banksy left behind (after his visits), actually saved the share capital of Telle's business after his Royksopp involvement almost left him bankrupt. So indirectly, Banksy has helped Aurora's career too.
Like a Version is a weekly segment on the Aus radio station Triple J, where artists are invited on to perform 2 songs live - one of their own, and one cover. Aurora's been on the show at least a couple of times.
Hello dear! Yes. She have done a lot of cover and she is always within a armlenght from the original. But she do it in Aurora Style. Always simplistic anf she do it always nearly or better than the original. My favourite is Beliver written of imagine dragon. The tone she have there is the neares you come to an angel. Love to see your analys of Aurora. See ya next time. Stay safe and healthy
She nailed it. Totally. I think this song suits her because she has kinda same vibe as Liz Fraser when she was cocteau twins vocalist. Same uniqueness (listen cocteau twins' "ivo" or "Sea, Swallow Me")
Lovely reaction Nina! This might be my favorite cover done by Aurora - though it's really hard to choose just one! I'm also partial to Walking in the Air (she performs it at the Nidarosdomen Concert) for sentimental reasons as well as Believer by Imagine Dragons. Oh, and Into the Unknown - which she covers as well as her part in the original.
I love this cover. And thank you for making reaction in her Birthday - it is very nice:). It is strange but i hear this cover before original, and then hear original. Both songs (original and cover) are great. For me a little better is Aurora cover, but it is probably matter of taste:). Also i really appreciate like Aurora put her "stamp" on most covers.
Wonderful reaction as usual from Tou Nina. I see there are text notes in front of the band so this may be a challenge on the spot cover. Also Auroa and her folks did`nt know at forehand what to make a cover of. Usually in those cases they have an hour up front in the studio to create and rehearse before put on live.
I completely agree with you comment on this track being the sort of thing you'd expect Aurora to write for her next album. Luckily, it sounds like we haven't got long to wait before we find out. She made some very strong hints recently that the next single and album were due "very soon".
Banksy is a very famous streetart artist but no one knows his real identity. One of the speculations is, it could be 3D (Robert Del Naya) from Massive Attack. When you google Banksy art, you will instantly know some of them. And great reaction of Aurora's cover. If you would play the original and her cover side by side, you would notice some cool harmonies and a big similarity to Elizabeth Fraser. 🙂
Really good reaction video - and nice pacing, too! Many of your peers either play the whole song with hardly any commentary, or they cut off the song every five seconds in order to comment on some miniscule detail, which makes the whole reaction experience either extremely boring or incredibly jarring.
I love this version and Aurora. I would recommend also checking out Jose Gonzalez's lovely cover of Teardrop as well, as he is also a master of simplicity and mood.
Then there's this. You have to imagine, first, singing this song, and then singing it in front of Bjork, sitting next to her Father. th-cam.com/video/mr3-1ZSsOVs/w-d-xo.html
Hey Nina, I think you should react to Demi Lovato at iHeart Awards performing a Tribute to Elton John, you will love it !! Love your videos, sending you the best from Brazil ❤️🇧🇷
Nina, Can you react to Guy Sebastian and Johnny Manuel The Voice Australia Finale's Performance? I mean, It's another level of vocals and runs! It would be cool! Btw, I love your channel so much!
“I’m happy because we are in good hands”… awesome!
I love how AURORA’s covers are so unique that they could be her own song. Her ‘Into The Unknown’ cover is like an entirely different song, I love it!
Yeap! I really wish they'd included an AURoRA version in the score.... but atl we have her version on yt. ^^

I think this cover is a masterpiece 🤩🥰 I would celebrate her birtday with her Nidarosdomen concert, it's amazing and magical 🥰🥰

Go Aussie!🇦🇺👍
Go JJJ📻🎶
Go Aurora🦄
And it’s been around long enough that, if it wasn’t obvious, ‘Like a Version” is a play on “Like a Virgin” by Madonna
Absolutely mesmerizing :)
So nice to see you again Nina. Really love to hear your take on music.
I love her covers
I always thought of the kick drum in this track a heartbeat

Great commentary, detail blended in as if it was written as a part of the song, thanks.
Can't wait for your reaction to her album a different kind of human
This very well could have been my birthday gift. Thank you Nina and HAPPY BIRTHDAY🎂 Aurora!
This was my 1st Aurora song. And an accidental click as well. Best mistake ever :-)
And the intro to House starts.
Its beem a while for a Aurora reaction.. 😍🔥🔥🔥😍

Oh, and Into the Unknown - which she covers as well as her part in the original.
Ooooh you should do a video on her live version of Lucky from the bergen 2020 show. It actually made me cry.
I always love originals better just because the writing came from them but Aurora's version could not be topped by anyone else out there.
I love this cover. And thank you for making reaction in her Birthday - it is very nice:).

Hi Nina, could you please react to KATRINA VELARDE cover " I BELEIVE"? 👍❤
This woman continues to talk during the song missing much of her dynamic range and harmony. Pity!
Too MUCH talking for my liking, so many interruptions.
