Aurora actually said herself that she moves around so much during performance because she cannot contain the musical energy she feels. In her first 2 years of performing, she used to struggle with this and shake her hands a lot during singing. Later on she learned how to move and dance with it. Srsly, because when she gained popularity in the tiktok community because of this song i saw people judging her for her hair and in that moment I knew that she is an artist that the world doesn't deserve :
Agreed. There are only a few singers around that can sit at that depth of their soul while singing. It's an odd way to describe it but you can feel it in every note she sings.
Agreed. I listen to drum n bass to disgustingly heavy metal with nothing but screaming. And her music is not something i listen to. But dam its beyond comparison.
Aurora said that in an interview once. Look closely at her live performances; most, if not all, were done bare footed. Some believe that shoes are prisons for the feet and that they feel closer to Mother Earth without them on.
I absolutely agree with that quote! When I was a kid I loved walking around barefoot. Even when I raced people I preferred barefooted. The feel of the earth, grass and more balance and control. I read a science paper on how the human foot is perfectly designed to walk barefoot. Shoes make our feet weak and fragile.

Watch some of Aurora's interviews. She was dragged out and did 200 shows her first year. She used to be terrified to go on stage. She almost peed herself a few times. She went from hating talking to her fans to loving it and the stage by 18. She actually wrote some of her music at 8. No one knew until her mother discovered one of her notebooks Aurora sang to her mother at 12. Very isolated background
I love that you noticed her exit from the song. That happens often with Aurora, the moment where you visibly can see her return to this reality. Love that.
@@TheCharismaticVoice I've seen that happen on stage with her, at a concert in Utrecht. Every song she would shake her arms a bit, grab the mic, and prepare herself for going into the song and you'd see her expression shift when she got taken over by the music. Aurora always moves her hands when she sings. Not technique, it's just who she is. She is totally lost in the music and probably isn't even aware of it. Pure magic to see.
I'm autistic and I've noticed too, she may be doing this to keep a focus or she's getting super far into her music emotionally. I'm not saying this is truth, but an observation and I find it very interesting.
@@evanjahn2216 I didn’t want to mention this but I thought the same. My cousin is autistic and this reminds me of her stimming a lot. But I don’t know if that’s the case for Aurora, it just reminded me of the idea.
PLEASE react to her performing “It Happened Quiet” that she performed on The Current and “With the Eyes of a Child”. SO GOOD!!!! She’s so captivating and precise in her live performances which I LOVE!!!
This song is so emotional it almost seems like she's looking back to a younger more innocent version of herself before the world took away that sweet innocent self. It's making me cry it's such a beautiful song.😭
and it's even more impressive when you realize she it was her 2nd song ever, and wrote it when she was like 11 or 12, like, this sounds like comes from an older person with all the wisdom in the world
When she sings it feels like she's the hero, or main protagonist of the world. Like she's the one that's gonna save the world and bring everyone together in peace. She makes me feel in touch with the planet and gives me the motivation to live my life.
I just made a comment saying she should react to Aurora's version of God is a Woman by Ariana Grande. I said this because it is a very beautiful song and performance by Aurora and I've never even heard the version by Ariana Grande. But if she wants to hear something just as beautiful and Mesmerizing the song you just listed at that church is what's needed.
I accidently stumbled into an Aurora concert looking for shade in the john peel tent at glastonbury festival 2019. Ended up sitting mesmerised and crying through the whole gig (btw im a 41 yr old male Mixed Martial Artist), and ive been a big fan ever since. When i finally had found out who it was i had just watched which took a few days
@@Theorangecrushgamer I think the person meant to add that in order to emphasize how Aurora can affect anyone, even people we usually wouldn’t consider her target audience.
John Peel! I met him backstage at Glastonbury months before he passed on. I sent a copy of the photo for the farm. Michael was very happy with it.Great you had a chance to see magical Aurora live at Glastonbury!
I'm a metalhead at heart, but I have a very soft spot for Aurora's music. She is just so ethereal and her songs have so much emotion and deep lyrical meaning. Definitely a treasure. This song's music video was the first I heard of her, followed by Running with the Wolves, another great song. My two current favorites are I Went Too Far and The River.
She produces both her music and her videos. If you really want to see her move, watch her performance of Conqueror on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon! The song is great but was co-written with some members of her band and has a little more commercial feel to it. Her performance of it was full tilt boogie and Katie bar the door! She loves to go raving and just dance with abandon.
In an interview I heard Aurora say that she feels the energy of the universe flowing through her so intensely when she sings that she can't help moving her hands.
Her hand movements may seem odd to others, but it tells me that she is so into the song that she is in a total different world. That she is alone pouring her hart out feeling every word and sound as if its burst of color and beautiful strokes of a painting. As if she stepped of the stage and into a empty space where she can be a hundred percent herself. I absolutely love it makes me want to cry to see someone so a hundred percent themselves and loving what they do. Its amazing that she shares that with everyone allowing other to see that and feel alone with her.
I think one of the reasons Aurora resonates with people is that we all long to have those moments in our life where we give ourselves over to pure expression, and she reminds of us those possibilities.
Welcome to the world of Aurora! No two songs are alike. No two performances are alike. You should see her now. She just continues to evolve at a wonderful rate. She sings with her whole body. When she first was dragged sooooo reluctantly on stage, she was, by her own admission, not only terrified, but tried to stand still, as she was told, but could not. Once she began singing, she always went (still does) completely into the song. She said the energy of it had to go somewhere, so it would come out as rather jerky hand and arm movements which she was unaware of until she saw herself on camera. Over time, she stopped trying to "stand still" and her movements became graceful and truly a part of the story she tells with every song. She is, btw, also an accomplished dancer, as you will see if you continue to review her music. :) And, no, no voice training. Dance training, yes.
I’m partially deaf so music is very hard for me especially the lyrics. I do not know why but the sounds she makes just do something to my very soul. She makes me want to happily run away and explore all aspects of the earth before calling my husband to find me where I’m lost lol she is not of this world. We will learn some day she was sent her to either save us or study us. I’m convinced.
Fun fact: Aurora has talked about suspected/being tested for autism (though I think she called it Asperger's but, yk) and the hand and arm movements are something a lot of us do to process music! Some are more fluid, some only do it with clear notes, some of us get every note we can with our arms, wrists and fingers. It's bringing a tangible expression to our unique sensory experiences as a result of unique brain structure. :)
I am happy to hear that she speaks of it. And that’s what makes her the uniquely beautiful angelic musical genius. Yes, her innocence and child-like vulnerability is deserving of our love and protection.
As a late diagnosed Autistic woman, she has helped me allow myself the freedom of stims.. at least in the presence of music that speaks to me. I get wrapped. It was long suppressed, and I felt so weird and self conscious about it and often shyed away from music. To see someone like her get wrapped up in the music so much she has to shake out the energy before she explodes, I can embrace a part of myself that was bullied out. I started listening to her before i was diagnosed, but I already knew i most likely was-I thought the same about her as well. She seems so FREE and carefree, unburned by the weight of feeling like you need to hide yourself. While I love her album tracks for consistency, she adds so much individual flare and energy to live performances of those vary same studio tracks that they almost feel like completely different songs.
I hope she stays herself. Performances like this are exceedingly rare. It almost feels like we are eavesdropping on something very personal. I love that.
Back again 3.5 yrs later to rewatch and listen to this beautifully enchanting song. When the struggle gets real, I need to hear things like this to ground me.
I just discovered her today, and she has such a unique style. I'm ecstatic that there are still amazingly gifted and creative singers like her in the world. After hearing dozens of female pop artists that all sound the same, she is definitely a breath of fresh air.

Aurora is a quirky, enchanting snow pixie from the north and I can't get enough of her! I could recommend almost every song on her list, but "The River" is one that speaks to me on a personal level. You may have been distracted by her performance (understandable) but the backing vocals were being done by her band. Also I understand her sister makes most of her outfits. You might want to check out interviews with her, as she is exactly as enchanting when talking as singing.

i'm with you on it being similar to stimming. i do the same thing when i'm listening or singing along to music, it really is just a way of regulating what you feel :)
I normally listen to Metal most of the time. But Aurora has entranced me when I first listened to "The Seed". She is just so authentic and unique . It's so fascinating for me to watch her sing and perform. I would definitely recommend "Animal (Live at The Current)" and "The Seed - HAIK Concert 2019". I really love those performances.

I've been amazed by Aurora´s voice for some years now, she's an absolute and unique artist! One more thing I'm amazed is by your beauty Elizabeth, you are suuuper pretty and i love your reviews. Keep doing them please!
I am 78 and there isnt much in the music planet I have not listened to. I stumbled upon this after lsitening to her brilliant cover of Bowie's Life on Mars. Brilliant because she understands the narrative must dominate above all else and she is THE ONLY PERFORMER wise and gifted enough to let the words breathe within the melody. Unlike ANY OTHER PERFORMER who has covered this with pounding guitars/drums and voice to match, she understates and gently performs in her haunting way and you hear the wonder of the song and are embraced by her. Then I saw this and despite it being an analysis I found myself sobbing and emptied of all my emotions. What an amazing and truly rare talent and human being she is. WHAT A GIFT WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN.
I discoverd AURORA one year ago... by accident... on TH-cam... I was so amazed by her concert at the cathedral. I listened to it again and again and again... and then I saw advertisement about a concert in Hamburg, my hometown... I went to see her. Since then I am under her spell... 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
it might be because I am depressed or it might be because I have been deprived of feeling my emotions I don't know which but her voice makes me cry each time whenever I hear this song
Depression actually make crying hard because you lost all your emotions or have a weird mixture of them But crying is natural, even happy person can cry when they see something sad ,touching or even beautiful
Listen to Aurora - Live at Nidarosdomen. Basically every song, but I like especially "Through the eyes of a child", "It happened quiet" and "Life on mars"
I'm deeply shaked and crying by seeing you reacting on Aurora's performance. It's so pure the way you feel her voice and for a couple of seconds go out of orbit and sudenly open a incredule smile. Thank you for that. For real.
I feel like with aurora, people try to break her down in her expressions (body movements and voice)... but when she records/performs she’s not saying “this is planned... I’m going to do this and that to make the audience feel a certain way or to sound a certain way.” She’s just bearing her soul and letting it flow out. I don’t know how to put it into words. It’s a natural expression of body and mind? Like an inner monologue being brought forward. Mind. Blowing.
actually she had a performance at "like a version" (you can find it here on youtube, i think it was with the song warrior) where she talks a little bit about why she is moving so much
People say negative things about her moving around like that, but I bet most of them do even more flailing around when they really let go and sing along to the radio in the shower or the privacy of our own rooms. Aurora just lets everyone see it.
Ok. It's official. I'm not crazy. Your expressions are literally mine when I first discovered this special soul. Words are useless, feelings are the only way...Aurora must be protected at all cost you would think but somehow I know she's far wiser than anyone that walks the earth.
I am impressed by knowing that she worte this song when whe was 11 ✨ What increadible imagination she would have, It took me 4 to 5 times to really understand meaning of this deep song ✨ and now i am listening it on repeat i love her voice tooo ✨

She is a national treasure, and reacting to more of her would be great to see. He live performance of Murder song is a must listen.
The emotional reactions Aurora invokes in people is really magical. I dont think an artist has brought me to tears more times than her. All kinda of tears, sadness, joy, in admiration of something beautiful. I hope you do some more by her. Its so fun seeing people be enchanted by her.
First time I heard her, I also instantly fell in love with her. I don't know, she just has something that relates to me on such a deep level. Somehow you feel she might be your best friend, because she sings something you feel you can never really express
What a great choice, Elizabeth. This was the first song I heard from Aurora and was blown away by the ethereal quality of her performance. Can't see Krakino but I imagine his expression mirrored yours in the thumbnail 😆
There is something that reminds me of Delores O'Riordan from the Cranberries in those vocal trills. I love her voice. Thank you for introducing me to her.
Best way to describe it, Aurora gets lost in music. I can relate. Close your eyes, allow yourself to be drawn into that magical place where music moves you. The expressive dance is a result. It's almost impossible to remain still once you're there. It really is a nifty little place and I like it very much.
At that time she was very afraid of being in public. On stage she was... and still is... really into the performance but at the end the public scared her a lot... It took some year for her to be completely comfortable with public, fans and people around her. Now a days she is very devoted to the fans, she really search for human contact, taking inspiration and emotions all around her. Incredible, she is just herself completely. No filters, real, raw, magical. We all have this magic inside of us, but we forgot about that, she is reminding all of us, how beautyful a being is, if it is just pure. I love what she is doing and how this music makes me feel. An artist.
She started learning music (piano) when she was six and started writing melodies. When she was nine (when she had better understanding of English) she started writing songs. I love Aurora, she is so unique and magical and I would definitely recommend "MURDER SONG (5,4,3,2,1)" also at The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert. It's amazing and my favourite song.

Hello dear Elizabeth! That was so nice to hear lovely word from one who understand voices for real. Also consider that she is very introverted and shy. When this performance was done, she really did not like large audiences. She was even close to quitting concerts. Fortunately, the worst has now passed. I have waited for long for this and it was worth it. Welcome to our loving family of AURORA. I hope the next one not take so long 😉😉 i suggest. Lucky in Nidarosdomen and that one is even more impressive. She wrote it when she was 9 years old. Arrangement is so beautiful that it hurts and her voice is extremly haunted and beautiful. I'd recommend you listening "Run Boy Run" from Woodkid, and then listen the live version at Montreaux, 2016. I don't mean to compare, I'm just saying that If you liked the live version of Runaway, you probably will LOVE the live version of Run Boy Run.

And Florence and the machines, heard her at a concert 3 times and she is magnificent live, even more clear than from studio recordings

Yep very true 👍👍👍
"Enchanting" is the word. she's utterly enchanting. I LOVE Aurora.

yes! even her name is so magical. reminiscent of the aurora borealis (not sure if that’s where her name actually comes from though!). whenever i see her it’s like i can visualise the northern lights- bright lights dancing freely and illuminating the dark sky, very whimsical and enchanting!

"I feel like I'm falling in love with her, just a little bit" That sentence could probably be said by 90% of people watching this performance.
Came here to say the same thing, she's intoxicating. What an incredible voice, and such a sweet personality too.
"Life is so much better without shoes" -Aurora
Explain pls
Aurora said that in an interview once. Look closely at her live performances; most, if not all, were done bare footed. Some believe that shoes are prisons for the feet and that they feel closer to Mother Earth without them on.
Oh 😊
I absolutely agree with that quote!
When I was a kid I loved walking around barefoot. Even when I raced people I preferred barefooted. The feel of the earth, grass and more balance and control. I read a science paper on how the human foot is perfectly designed to walk barefoot. Shoes make our feet weak and fragile.
Basically Luna from Harry Potter that's exactly Luna 😂

Yep
Her voice is so angelic and I love her Norwegian accent when she sings.
Very isolated background
... over 200 shows, I believe
I love that you noticed her exit from the song. That happens often with Aurora, the moment where you visibly can see her return to this reality. Love that.
I agree. That moment was exquisite.
@@TheCharismaticVoice I've seen that happen on stage with her, at a concert in Utrecht. Every song she would shake her arms a bit, grab the mic, and prepare herself for going into the song and you'd see her expression shift when she got taken over by the music. The most amazing thing is that she's able to communicate that shift in consciousness with her audience. It's not just her losing herself to the music, but she pulls you with her. Into that magical musical place she creates. I'd love to experience that again.

I'm autistic and I've noticed too, she may be doing this to keep a focus or she's getting super far into her music emotionally. I'm not saying this is truth, but an observation and I find it very interesting.

and it's even more impressive when you realize she it was her 2nd song ever, and wrote it when she was like 11 or 12, like, this sounds like comes from an older person with all the wisdom in the world
You should check out some of her other performances of it, it changes a great deal through the years as her relationship with it evolves.

Funny how you mention Disney since she is the one that's singing in Frozen 2

She loves to go raving and just dance with abandon.
you remind me of a metalhead friend who went in the rabbit hole that is aurora, he was hooked with runaway and murder song
Me too 😭✨
Yeah... I'm over on the electronic side (I make synths for a living) but greatness is greatness. How do you not love her? Special artist.
I think aurora said in an interview she also loves heavy metal
In an interview I heard Aurora say that she feels the energy of the universe flowing through her so intensely when she sings that she can't help moving her hands.
It Happened Quiet - Live on The Current is a wonderful stripped down performance that I'm positive you would love :)
And, no, no voice training. Dance training, yes.
I love that she just lets it all out. Beautiful.
She is absolutely ethereal! Magical! Not of this world!
This was an excellent vid!
It’s white witchcraft (white as in good, not the race)
Her face reactions while listening to it explain how deep this song hits
I’m partially deaf so music is very hard for me especially the lyrics. I do not know why but the sounds she makes just do something to my very soul. She makes me want to happily run away and explore all aspects of the earth before calling my husband to find me where I’m lost lol she is not of this world. We will learn some day she was sent her to either save us or study us. I’m convinced.
💜💜💜
World is bigger than yourself , find your life
🙏❤
Engaging description. Wonderful to find something that moves you so.
I love when singers show emotions physically. Not just for the deaf or hard of hearing but for those who cannot process lyrics well.
Thats what i said !!
I hope she stays herself. Performances like this are exceedingly rare. It almost feels like we are eavesdropping on something very personal. I love that.
She's not 16 anymore. She's pretty much wise and If she changes it's evolving

I'm convinced she's fae, absolutely otherworldly!
Aurora is Mother Earth talking through a human body ✨ you have a Magical Journey ahead
In my opinion, the facial expression at the end of the song means that she has returned to earth or reality.
It's like she's an avatar of soul and beauty, channeling it through herself and has to wake up and remember who she is at the end.
Aurora is an endless gem, so many of her songs are that kind of hug you never want to let go of and remember every time you need to be held.
She's not signing, she IS the song.
Thanks for the analysis!

Best way to describe it, Aurora gets lost in music. I can relate. Close your eyes, allow yourself to be drawn into that magical place where music moves you. The expressive dance is a result. It's almost impossible to remain still once you're there. It really is a nifty little place and I like it very much.
that last sentence is the best description I've ever heard of the altered state that is music. Lovely.

Lucky in Nidarosdomen and that one is even more impressive. She wrote it when she was 9 years old. Arrangement is so beautiful that it hurts and her voice is extremly haunted and beautiful. I know for a fact that you would love it. 😉 But i am going to see this several times. Thank you 💚🇸🇪💚
again.
I'm so impressed by how she handled not liking large audiences! Her instinct to focus on her message made the performance truly magical.
It's fun to see another swedish Aurora fan. I also look forward to possibly more Aurora reactions on this channel in the future=)
When you listen to Aurora sing it feels like your listening to such a pure sprit, a little piece of goodness in this world.
I've had the pure joy of listening to her before she released her first album...saw her at first Ave in mpls on her first tour for that album. She calls her authentic...you can hear it. What drew me to her. Angelic.
