Infections Of A Different Kind Part 1 and 2 was arranged and produced with minimal help from others by Aurora, watching a documentary about her and it was obvious she was under a lot of pressure from record company and management about the mix and arrangement and not least that it should contain a so called radio hit. But this girl stood her ground and the result is this stunner of a record :-)
After waiting for 86 years, I've finally come across your reaction to the Album of The Decade. Anyway, this EP was ethereal. Lyrically introspective, sonically out-of-this-world, vocally eargasmic, and artistically unique. People need to stop sleeping on AURORA. This EP is Björk's album Vespertine's little sister (which you also need to react to if you haven't already). I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as we all do, and thank you for dedicating your time to experience AURORA's music in full! I'm very pumped to see your "A Different Kind of Human (Step 2)" reaction! ❤
"Vespertines little sister". How beautifully put. And what a (deserved) praise. There are not many albums (or EPs) that I return to with some frequency years after. Oh - in addition to Nina's reaction to vol. 2, we should make a peoples front, demanding her to react to the entire Nidarosdomen and HAIK concerts (as they are near immune to be copy-right claimed and because yay!)
@@glacieractivity Stayed up into the wee hours of her birthday watching Aurora vids. Niderosdomen was the last one before bedtime. What a tremendous concert to dream on.
Wow with you comment now i understand why those albums (Infections of a different kind and Vespertine) are my favorite albums ever hahah I never thought a connection of those two
yes everything about Aurora is spiritual. her music isn't just entertainment, it's meant to awaken something in you. she has inspired so much hope in me
AURORA's "Infections of A Different Kind" EP Timestamps: #1: Queendom - 0:44 #2: Forgotten Love - 2:44 #3: Gentle Earthquakes - 4:43 #4: All Is Soft Inside (my personal favorite) - 6:42 #5: It Happened Quiet - 8:50 #6: Churchyard - 10:19 #7: Soft Universe - 11:55 #8: Infections of A Different Kind (title track) - 13:05 Enjoy :))
Yes! Finally 😊 I requested this way back. Love your way of breaking down the production of the tracks. To answer your question about the arrangement. Aurora is heavily involved in the production. She often produce her songs together with her drummer/producer Magnus. On this album she also had help from a couple of guys she trusts to help her. But she has the final say 😊 can't wait for step 2.
Yapp! That was the nicest and most interesting reaction and analys of my ever favorite album for a long, long time. Thank you dear. Make my friday for sure. I understand why but i would hear the hole album reaction It was that good. Stay healty and safe.
Right? It's literally just track #1 but it's already an ethereal experience. I love that song so much, and it's one of my favorite album openers of all time, if not my favorite ever lol
aurora dislikes this song. she was forced to have it on the album and she doesn't like to play it. watch the documentary "once aurora", you can find it on vimeo. very interesting and deep insights aurora and the music business
@@soleywolfgangsdottir Oh really? That's quite sad because I really love that song and I think it's one of the best album openers of all time- it's perfect in the album. I haven't watched that documentary yet so I'll definitely watch it soon, thank you for the sad-but-true information!
@@bananaman3981 you are welcome! i think that is always the problem when you suddenly fall into a career like she did. did you know that she played a song in a high school party, and some dude posted it on facebook, which was seen by her record company and here the story starts. at a young age, virgin to the business, she had to stand a massive pressure from the record company to deliver songs, especially songs to be played on the radio. you will like the documentary. like björk, when she had her very first folk song album released at the age of eleven, she explained, that she would never ever do a song again which was not hers. and she kept this promise, and still keeps it. i hope aurora will follow this example. if so, we can expect a lot good music by her in future.
Thanks Nina. My favourite reactor reacting to my favorite album by my favourite artist :-). Strongly suggest All is Soft Inside at the KEXP concert to hear how she brings this studio perfection to life. You asked if she had someone she worked with in particular. I believe she does a lot of the production together with Magnus (the percussionist) in her band. Though he did complain in the documentary that he was basically relegated to ‘just a drummer’ as Aurora had such strong ideas about the production. This is very much more her album than All my Demons ... and you can hear it in how it sounds. Again in the documentary you can see how much she has to fight with the record company and her manager to get her vision across. They are pushing for more ‘radio hits’ and she is pushing back strongly. Quite inspiring actually. KEXP link th-cam.com/video/IS2iVcGz_Ok/w-d-xo.html
Nice, I love her work and this album is so well done, great productions, lyrics, the music, the arrangements and the production is awesome.......and she is involved in every bit of it, she's a perfectionist and she has such a tremendous sense of visuals, she takes care of everything, she wants it done her way........she is tiny, but extremely powerful, she's wise and she has the gift of transporting you to another place or dimension asides of touching your soul core with her Love and Magic.
My favorite song in this album is the title track, followed by Soft Universe. Can’t wait for your reaction to the Step 2 which has my three all time favorite Aurora songs. It’s a masterpiece.
I love how you catch up many details I never caught before , like explaining things in background. It makes me really enjoy listening AURORA'S work more as I recognize those layers. And I wanna put more attention to other artists' works as well
I like Aurora in many ways and stands out a lot: she does not conform with Pop trends. Also I like she hates some Pop with that horrible snare beat and vocal auto-tunes. Also she has created music her self from a young age with her piano. She is very open-minded, expressing how she loves Metal and created a track called Under Stars, dedicated to all the Metal people. It is no surprise, as she is from Norway, where the Black Metal scene came from. She has also done some impressive work with a Norwegian Folk band live called Wardruna.
I got into AURORA this year and is one of the best things I could've done! This is my favourite album by her, I think my favourite song is Soft Universe or All Is Soft Inside, but I really love every song!
Great to see you doing this stunner of an album. Very interesting to listen to your comments. Could we hope to see you reacting to a couple of live performances before you go to Step 2? I'd suggest "Forgotten love" live at Lindmo at "All is Soft Inside" live at KEXP. Aurora live at her best!! And btw, "Queendom" is an awesome video.
The only reaction that I was wanting more than this is Sevdaliza's Shabrang, and if someday you want to listen, you will not regret it. Love you and your reactions Nina ♥️
Honestly, the more I get to know her music and find out more about her, the more I think she experiences the world musically. She is definitely neurodivergent and just like some people experience the world in colours, Aurora experiences sounds, rythyms, frequencies and vibrations. She is an absolute genius. A savant I feel. She's absolutely wonderful 💗
I know this might be a long shot, but I would love to see a video of you and Aurora talk about her music/composition together. Compered to other reactors, you really have a good ear and detect more then others I have seen. Aurora has done many interviews online and if you ask..maybe it will happen! Then you can find out for your self how much of a musical genius she really is. And we(viewers) will have another great Aurora interview to react to :) You deserved a sub after this one.
Thank you Nina! That was a wonderful reaction. Could we get some live performances before you go on to step 2? I think you would enjoy watching how she performs the songs from this album - it takes them to an entirely higher level. Also, no two performances of any of her songs are quite the same.
I love that you finally decided to do this album. I feel like her work can be challenging but rewarding. It really helps the listener to have someone who makes sense of the vocal through the whole of the production. I believe you are the only vocal coach/ reactor who has a thoroughly holistic viewpoint when it comes to understanding and appreciating music. I learn a great deal especially when you tackle the totality of an album. Thank you
To get a glimpse of how she produced this album, check out the documentary title Once Aurora. I thinks it’s $10 USD on Vimeo. You will also get a glimpse of who she is.
I am reeeeally loving your reactions, specially the aurora ones. Can you please react to a Brazilian song called como Nosso Pais? It's a song that became very famous during the dictatorship that Brazil went through years ago but that still maintains a very touching message. the song was originally written by singer belchior but its most incredible interpretation is by singer elis regina. I would really appreciate if you do. Thank you 🇧🇷
Thank you for a good reaction to our Queen Aurora. 😊 I checked your videos and couldn't find Angelina Jordan on it.. 😏 I think she will be right up your ally. Her latest originals are Million miles and 7th heaven. She has also made a beautiful cover of Adeles All I ask. You will not regret it, and she has a big fanbase too. 😊
Right?? Although I do think this album has a large upper hand than Melodrama, it's still a phenomenally-crafted piece of art. But, she has reacted to it already though if you didn't already know so you can immediately watch her Melodrama reaction :)
In the original version, not recorded or released so to speak, all her songs are more like "Infections of a different kind" the last song on the album. Just Aurora and her piano.
Amazing how few professional musicians reacting, cannot recognize a thumb piano as the plinking sound in a few of her songs. Such a common instrument. 🤔

This album was my first exposure to AURORA and I instantly fell in love.
Forgotten Love was actually my top Spotify song of 2019 too.
Omg me too
I'm beginning to think Aurora is this era's Bob Dylan. Her lyrics are brilliant.
And of course her music too
I'd say Taylor Swift and her are up for this spot
@@beej13 Taylor’s is amazing but their writing styles are so different I think Aurora’s lyrics have more depth
I agree. Her choice of what to cover is also magnificent.
@@beej13 HUH? They are way different and I'm sorry but Taylor Swifts is shallow song writing.
