    Issue 3: neutral position plug disconnected. Anyone who has any idea, can fix this issue in 20s. You probably disconnected it accidentally washing the bike etc. Happened to mine too.
    Issue 2. Did you bed them in properly? Is there any chance you sprayed something on the rotors accidentally maybe when cleaning the bike?
    Issue 1: I guess you didn't read the manual how to operate your bike. You can use only this when back off on the throttle + there is a little arrow on your dash telling you when you can shift without the clutch. It's also called auto-blip...

    Just did my 600 mile service on my 21 MT09 and have none of those issues. My down shift works great in higher rpms, it goes Bop,Bop,Bop... No brake squeal, and definitely can start and warm up my bike in neutral. Hope those issues get fixed fast for you cuz it sure is a fun bike to ride

      Glad your bike has been running smooth 💪 I was able to get the neutral and quick shifter issues fixed. It’s a whole new bike! A ton of fun. Thanks for tuning in!

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@corruptionoutdoors it ended up being the neutral sensor (it was unplugged!). Brakes still make a bit of noise, but otherwise it's running great.

    Stop twisting the throttle when quick shifting down. If that doesn't solve the problem then your bike has something wrong with it.

      It's been 5 months but, I will still say, the owners manual says fully let the throttle out to downshift.

    • @gregaozbot
      @gregaozbot 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It says in the manual to be fully off the throttle...he is trying to revmatch with the throttle and the bike does that by itself...

    You certainly got a lemon.. I just passed the 2K miles and not issues. Have you done the 600 mile service? Those are things that can be fixed and should be cover under the manufacture warranty. Don’t wait is only 1 year.

      Glad to hear you haven't run into any issues! Just took it in for the first service and appear to have gotten the issues resolved. Finger's crossed that nothing else comes up. Thanks for tuning in!

    There has been a few who had problems with the gear position sensor plug who has gone loose.

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just got the bike back and that's exactly what it was.
      Tightening the connection seems to have fixed the "lazy" quickshift down as well. Thanks for sharing and tuning in!

    You got some weird issues. Have the 2021 mt-09 storm fluo, no downshift issues, no gearing issue, no brake squeak. We have a recall for our ecm recently but i havernt had those issues either.

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely some weird issues! Glad to hear your experience has been smooth 👌 I haven’t experienced any issues with the recall either. Overall the bike has been a blast to ride.

    My 03 Bandit 600 had same issue with neutral. Was a loose wire. Maybe when they put the bike together at the shop they forgot to hook up or gor knocked off?
    Hope they get it sorted. My 22 SP is fine, however I am getting brake noise a bit also. Happend after a few runs on HWY 9 nothing too crazy, just breaking in. Bit I didnt bed the breaks like my Cadillac ATSV. So maybe that's the issue?

  • @whyjiro

    Mine makes an electrical whining noise upon decelerating, could it be the ride by wire system?

    When my XSR900SP got delivered earlier this year Yamaha didn't torque the front retaining brake caliper bolts they fell out before the bike had done 100km. Hope the dealers are better there than in Australia. Goodluck!

    i have the brake squeal on mine too but the downshifting problems only occur if i press the lever halfway in only, the neutral problem on your bike otherhand is non-existent on mine so i think yours has a faulty sensor somewhere and i would get that checked out when the bike is still under warranty.

    Yamaha stripped the threads in my oil strainer assembly when I took the bolt out to do first change threads came with it. Still driving with a slow slow drip until the backordered part gets in! Other than that my baby rides amazing taking me to work everyday.

    Modern fuel injection bikes don't need warming up before riding them. Also the properties of modern oils mean they operate at lower temperatures. You should just not rag them until the bike is up to normal operating temperature.

    I haven’t had any problems with mine , although the down shift does take some practice… the throttle needs to be shut when you shift. After watching your vid I went round and checked all my nuts and bolts😂… all ok.

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Downshift does take some getting used to. Glad your bike didn’t have any loose bolts! 😂

  • @Bacon676
    @Bacon676 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you read the manual...
    It says roughly, "for quick shifting function, press firmly and decisively on the shift lever. The system is designed to ignore light pressure and accident input"
    100% user error there, wasn't anything wrong with it in the first place 🥴
    Brake squeal is normal if the rotors get dirty. Road grime occasionally gets in there, have had it happen on more than one bike after following a car that was burning oil pretty bad in town.
    The neutral position sensor was definitely broken though. Won't affect shifting though, thankfully

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I gave the manual a “glance” 😬…definitely user error on the quick shift, it works like a top now that I apply proper pressure 👌.
      The brakes still squeak a bit but have gotten better…is there a proper way to clean them?

  • @Jesusprayerwarriorbw
    @Jesusprayerwarriorbw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Mine was similar but figured out that I wasn't off throttle and it was denied DS cuz of it. The manual states that for DS must be off throttle, likewise US needs open throttle. After reading that zero issue.

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  3 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @ajojoseph6052

    I rode both the MT09 versions at IMS last week and was mighty impressed, so much more improved than the previous gen. Down shifts I prefer to rev-match and use the clutch. I get to hear the sweet exhaust spool up and gives me enough time to position myself for the turn. Unless you are on track, that millisecond savings has no advantage. Quick up-shifts are nice.
    There was some chain noise on my demo unit. Where were you able to solve the issues?

    • @TylerCharest
      @TylerCharest  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ajo, the neutral issue ended up being a simple fix (it was an unplugged wire). The brakes still make a bit of noise, but that should clear up with a new set of pads...at some point, for now they still do the job. The quickshifter has been a great feature! Thanks for tuning in!
