This is just a quick impression of the camera. My feeling is that it's very similar to the ZV-E10 but with better photo capabilities. If you shoot video and were wondering if it's better than the ZV line of Sony cameras I would say no. Don't FOMO into it unless you love Fuji photo presets :) Are you looking into owning this camera? Y or N? Thanks for the support :)
@@jonathonnordyke So happy to have a Fuji again. Never going to sell my X-M5, nad funny enough! I only got the X-M5 because I was tired of waiting for my X100iv to come in and guess what? Three days efter I got my X-M5 the other camera store told me my x100iv shipped :/ and now I don't know what to do
Just got mine a couple days ago too, my first Fuji. You’ll like the baseplate and grip, it does help a lot. I was actually impressed with weight and quality, way heavier than I expected actually. I expected it to be lighter than an a6000. I also have an A7RV for when I really need to perform, this X-M5 is for fun and travel - I just wish the sun would come out!
Nice! I like the weight of it as well. I just don’t like the plastic construction. I’ve held the x100vi and it’s so much more,” high end” feeling. An absolute work of art. I can’t wait for the grip since I always feel like the X-M5 is going to slip out of my hands. Thanks for the comment. Enjoy your camera!
Man, you make a great ad for this camera, really tempting haha. Great quality for the environment you shot it, pretty dark, yet the footage turned out great. The stabilization also looks an improvement over Sony's.
hello old friend! :) Excited to see you with a new camera again! :D Image quality looks really good and the stabilisation is more then enough for me. Curious which lenses you will add to your Fuji kit :) Btw your home gym makes me feel bad ... I have to get back in shape in 2025 :D
Hello! Did you call me old? LOL! Joking! It's nice but when I compare it with some of the footage from my FF camera it's clear where it falls behind in video, but photos look amazing! 2025 is the year you become a Chad my friend. Do it!!!!
@@noisackda2564 haha that FF thing is also always a topic for me I notice specifically in low light. But for b/w photography sometimes high iso grain works 😀 And yeah I really have to hit the basics, probably can only do 1 pull up … that count has to go up in 2025 😄
@@IntrovertAmateur You know for photography I love grain. It masks a lot of what would normally be muddy IQ because grain is sharp it makes the edges of images look sharp lol. Also, work on trying to get at least ten pull-ups Haha. You go this!
G’day Noi! Wow! You got a new camera congratulations 😎 looks like a little beauty. I hope you have a lot of fun using it👍All the best in 2025. Hope you have a wonderful year 😎✌️
Appreciate you sir. Yes, I got a new camera :) Crazy thing is I forgot to cancel my X100VI and it just arrived in the mail so now I have two Fuji cameras. I'm just going to return the X100VI I think. It's mighty expensive :( All the best to you as well in 2025.
Hi Noi, I’ve been watching your content since the ZV-E10 days… got mine right around the same time so it feels like we’ve been on this journey together haha. Unrelated to the X-M5… ready to upgrade but unsure between the ZV-E1 or FX30. Mostly shooting vlogs 4k24p. I’ve got the Sony 11mm and 15mm apsc lenses but wouldn’t mind buying ff lenses. Has the ZV-E1 overheat on you? Were you comfortable vlogging with the FX30 or did you ever feel like it was too big? I realize ZV-E1 is better in low-light… but is the FX30 with an f1.4/1.8 lens still good enough? And lastly… have to ask… which camera do you prefer in general? Thanks! :)
Hey Kenneth, great questions and thanks for the support. Right now, I use the ZV-E1 more than I use the FX30 only because I’ve stopped buying APSC glass. Typically, you will use the camera that you buy new glass for most because you want to try out the new glass. I would say that being able to shoot clean video at iso 12800 is a huge game changer. The FX30 is such a great camera though. It really is a hard choice. I would never get rid of my FX30 but for some reason I don’t feel the same about the ZV even though I use it way more :/. Have you thought about getting the a6400? I think that camera has the same sensor as the FX30 but with extra stuff. You know what? Screw it! If you have the money I would get the ZV-E1 lol. It’s more of an upgrade especially for your use case. The 11 and 15 lenses you have are still some of the best lenses even for the ZV-E1. More stable than most of my FF lenses. Hope I was helpful lol!
Appreciate the response! I was also considering the a6700 (think that’s what you meant) but gravitate towards the FX30 a bit more. It seems like everyone who owns an FX30 really loves that camera. You make some solid points about the ZV-E1 tho. Decisions, decisions lol thanks again!
A tit for tat, now you're making me want to spend money! I was moments from pre-ordering the xm5 when it was first announced, and if it wasn't backordered now, I'd probably be buying it as I write (because of your vid). I was concerned with the lack of ibis but it looks great, everything about (even the auto ISO) looks really clean. And now, I'm not just envious of your cam pick-up but of your camera shop. I need one of those near me!
Send me your pocket 3 and I’ll send you my X-M5. I just got a confirmation that my X100VI just shipped 💩 The digital stabe in the X-M5 is pretty good! I did some more testing and it does create micro jitters like the zv-e10 though, so it’s not as impressive as I originally thought but still pretty great.

Tip top first impressions! Very helpful. Thanks!
I use a Sony ZVE10 for video and thinking about picking up the Fuji XM5 as a budget photography only camera
Honestly, the two cameras are very close. They both have strengths and weaknesses. I would say they are pretty equal honestly.
Looked incredible at 12800 ISO for an APS-C.
I was surprised as well!
