That noise comparison vs XH2S is legendary!! I've always loved the almost B&W grain-like noise pattern of the XH2s, very iconic and almost a feature for the XH2s. I guess you just simply don't get such a delicate noise for a camera of this price. Thank you for the excellent work!
Nikon z8 shooter. Bought one of these XM5 units and have been super pleased with it! Absolutely wild video specs and photos look great. Ive noticed there's quite a bit of rolling shutter in 4k (non issue for me though). I encourage you to try some Sirui lenses if you haven't. I got the 23 1.2 and 75 1.2 for the Xm5. It's been a fun kit to learn.
Finally someone focued on video! I have a small channel for bass/guitar covers and I'm looking to upgrade from my S24+. I have saved up for at least an X-S20. But I just realized I might be wasting money because I'm not really pro and been thinking about this model. I certainly won't be needing the EVF (duh, I'm playing how can I use the EVF lol).
About the low light test, it's surprisingly interesting🤔. From your test, Its seems the Fuji XM5 has a kind of Dual ISO Native closely similar to the Fuji Xh2s one. Because they both seems to work similarly (their behavior in the low light test). The Fuji XM5 is perfect a ISO 1250, still good at ISO 1600, we start to see it very noisy at ISO 2000 but still usable if you think to clean it in post-production. But at ISO 2500, it really noisy and seems unusable to my eyes even in post-production it can be improve (But curiously, is the same case for the Fuji Xh2s). An booom!! Surprisingly as ISO 3200 it cleans up again, like about a 40% (like nearly the similar results you get at ISO 2000 when you at ISO 3200, and ISO 4000 just jump to the similar the ISO 2500 with nearly the same level of noise. what!!!!😲). Maybe, there is, somehow, a king of Dual Native ISO in the Fuji XM5, but not so strong as in the Fuji XH2s at ISO 3200, but there is something similar (ISO technology) in both cameras when it comes to low light and ISO behavior . Because it seems much better at ISO 3200 that at ISO 2500 on both. How can it be possible?🤷 Thank you so much for the low light test comparison! It's really helpful!
@ I mainly shoot video on red Komodos and mft sensor has limitations. On its own it’s a great platform that looks great! But when it comes to holding color grades with red it can fall apart. The ProRes raw does better but still has DR limitations and Fuji has more DR and 14bit readout so even in 10 bit it can hang with a red color grades better. That’s all
hahaha, the german dub had a female voice, well, not quite fitting your look lol. Stupid auto dub, i hope YT will get rid of the dub by default when I just want the original audio track
In my very limited view, this camera is a joke. If they had supplied it with a hotshoe for an EVF, okay, but not even that. Next model: A digital Eastman Vest Pocket, with a glass prism as a viewfinder and without more than two shutter speeds, but f8 max aperture. Might even work fine. 😮🎉😂

This is the most complete review I have seen for this camera! Thank you for sharing this 🙏🏻👏
You're welcome. Thank you for the kind words!
This guy is a freaking professional
love that shot at 2:08. great video, Josh! That camera punches way above its class for sure!
Thanks Tyler!
It'a crazy we are getting this video quality the price point.
Agreed!
Needs a viewfinder or Fuji needs to create a simple hot shoe viewfinder for these rangefinder style bodies.
EVF you mean?

Great to see your take on this camera, Josh!
Thanks for watching!
Another great review! Thank you
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
I got mine but haven’t had a chance to really use it yet. Real feel temps of 6-7 degrees here in the northeast really kill any photography days
Very well covered, watched every minute, so much information packed into this video.
Thank you so much Mark!
Do you have a recommended usb power bank that you use?
For me this is the perfect camera body. I'm waiting for the Nikon Z30 II and hoping for the Canon RF version of their M6 II.
Raleigh looks cool.
Such a solid camera Josh!!!
I agree!
Hey can you record in camera and function like normal while usb c webcam is hooked up?
and what’s the resolution for usb webcam mode?

it’s time to replace the silly micro HDMI with a second USB-C port.
Tks great video. Whats funny is that I was under the impression that the xs20 had lots more overheating issues ???
Great video made!
Thank you so much!

The specs are wonderful for the price but i would never buy a cam without ibis in 2025
is it weather sealed
Nope.
@@tshiring7 well there goes that
Confused between these n zv e10 ii
For video & both cost same
Hi did you use a gimbal. If so what gimbal did you use sir
I did not use a gimbal. I actually explained how I shot the sequence in the video.
Sold out!
I like how you say hey like
If only it had ibis 😢
Wondering to know how the hdmi latency is on the XM5
I just picked up an xh2s. Happy to be in Fuji and away from mft LUMIX
Why? Whats wrong with Lumix?

This video makes me wanna get up and get my life together…
And they'll be sold out forever..
I hope not!
I just got mine 😊
@@Josh_SattinI wish it had IBIS!
Damn with that focus breathing, that killed it for me
Same sensor as the Pentax K3M3
Very very cool and nice competition for LUMIX! I'm still loving my S9
Hey Dave! Thanks for stopping by! I agree, Fuji made a pretty cool camera for $800.

Sorry bud, Patt my pixel 8 takes better video than this.

No IBIS for a vlog camera? Nope. Why I got the X-S20. Plus, it feels super plasticky and cheap.
Crop sensor. No, thanks. Too many excellent affordable FF options now.
No viewfinder? Bye XM5
Just wait for the XE5
@@amermeleitor that’d be cool for sure. I picked up an xe4 and fun camera to have.
