    i agree, from this price i don't know what they want more from this camera. For me, I love tiny cameras, and this one is perfect for me. I used to have a big camera with a large lens, but I hardly ever took it out with me. A good camera is the one you actually use.

    thank you so much for making this video!! i was looking for a compact everyday/everywhere camera, but in researching i started to get sucked into all the technical stuff and almost ended up going for the x-s20 because it's just "better". i think i almost lost myself and the reason i wanted this camera to begin with - for its portability and compact size, and not for all the high end features. there's no point in a better spec camera if i'm not going to use it, and i think this will be perfect for my needs of just capturing life. and if not, i can always upgrade it down the line!

    Your review hit all the reasons I want this camera. I have an expensive mirrorless camera, but it’s too big to bring with me everywhere. I want a “life camera” to take pictures of the little one and to take shots of things I find interesting in my daily. I’ll definitely be purchasing one in the near future.

    People are saying all kinds of negative or lacking about this camera, like no EVF, no IBIS, Plastic body blah blah.
    But if you put an evf to this, people will say it is just an X-S20 without IBIS
    Put an Evf to this then put an x-processor 4, they will say it is an XT30ii in range finder style.
    Put an IBIS, then they will say it is an X-S20 without an evf.
    Put an IBIS and EVF then put x processor 4, it’s an X-S20 with a downgraded processor.
    People will find all the drawbacks for it’s price? Common! This camera is small with an awsome features into it. The only thing that concerns me about fuji is their autofocus is far behind sony. I have both sony and fuji and i can tell the difference. But to be honest, i really enjoyed using Fuji cameras but for professional work i use my sony.

    There is always one really great thing that happens when you have an awesome mid entry level camera like this come out. You can filter out all the idiot reviewers really quick. When I see their reviews and commentary pop up I just hit the “Do not recommend channel” option and never look back. I may even buy one just to tote around and pull out when one of the camera snobs are around. I love everything I see about this thing. And yea, I really did hit the button on those other channels. No worries, I hit the sub button on yours.

    Tbh you helped me decide on what camera to get, online has me searching for perfection for a low price but its not realistic.
    For a new camera with the same sensor as the XT5, its not bad for 800$ + with my student discount its 700$ before tax brand new, and looking to get a ttartisan 27mm f/2.8 pancake lense for 150$, its 850$ ... its cheaper than the ricoh gr iii or any other comparable camera, again, brand new with modern tech This is where my research landed me. I think this is it for me. I hope you make more content about this. This works for me, I was thinking about the sony rx 100 M7, but the cost and its getting old.. the XM5 i can always change lens too.. idk there isnt much downside for 700$ brand new.

    i would say yes that what matters is if you are more likely or less likely to take a photo with any kind of equipment you have. it can be your phone, action camera, a compact or a full-size. to me specs have not mattered much - it matters if you are more likely to bring a camera with you and take photos.

  • @benjaminbjacobsen
    @benjaminbjacobsen หลายเดือนก่อน

    I totally agree on life style cameras. I've owned the XEs in the past and the XA1 and still own my X70. I'm torn on the size and how I want to use it. I'm a ski instructor and keep a camera in my pocket. Fuji needs to make more pancake lenses... The x70 is smaller measurably. It's enough smaller (especially depth with a lens) it's less noticeable in a pocket -vs- my XM5 w/18mm. I'm just struggling if it's small enough to be worth it for me -vs- my x70 and X-E4. I do love the new AF the XM5 brings though. I think my ideal camera is the X70 & X-E5 when it finally arrives.
    Just imagine if we had a new 18mm f/2 (the lens you have BTW), that was slightly smaller and had better motors, borrow sony's 16mm 2.8 and 20mm 2.8, borrow canon's 22mm f/2 (which proves it's possible to make that lens smaller than fuji's version). Then the 27mm 2.8 as well? We just need more smaller lenses to make these setups easier to pocket.
    Or make an X80 please...

    • @Lifereviewedchannel
      @Lifereviewedchannel  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I totally agree. If Fuji put out an x80 with a built in ND and flash, I’d replace my x100vi with it asap. That would be geared more towards photographers whereas the XM5 is a hybrid camera targeting creators. It’s kinda like how the XT4 was a hybrid camera and then they dropped the articulating screen and made the body smaller to target photographers. Seems like they’re trying to avoid too much overlap in their lineup.

      @@Lifereviewedchannel yeah, I'm not the guy who hates on things I won't use. I feel fuji needs to let us disable things we'll never use in menus (even some film sims I'll never touch) but that's another conversation. I know the screen type is polarizing. Why they dropped the X70/XF10 boggles my mind. The X100v blew up after both were dropped, but the ricoh proves there's still a market here and fuji has the hype train. I'd LOVE an X80 but then also an X80 with the 23? Yes please. I'd be the guy with two ricohs but fujis instead. And yes I've owned a GRiii and XF10. I don't love that form factor. The ricoh is too much like a sony. I really prefer the ISO/Shutter/aperture dials.

      @joshuachubbphotography หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it’s because no one asked for it. Fuji already has already had issues with AF and then to make cameras that no one wants is frustrating. They could have easily made this an x80 camera since the x70 literally has a cult following. They could have made it a xe5 a camera that really didn’t get a fair shot due to covid but is a close x100 competitor that is currently selling for more used than it did new.

    How many variations on this sensor do we need...I agree that the ricoh image quality is well below the fuji x-system (iso noise and contour definition much more natural on fujifilm x-trans cameras), but fuji images aren't that great either, they barely have any physical tangability and colors are all over the place and terribly coarse...Camera manufacturers have completely lost the plot...I think film resurgence will take the cake and rightly so.
