I pray this is my issue
same but mine had been driven on low oil for some time last year... might be the worse issue here.
😂 it’s most likely not bro
this is specific to certain car models
update to my situation: it disappeared on its own the next day and hasn't reappeared since.

This motor holding on for dear life trying not to jump timing while running
Good day, you totally hit it on the nail just like that ! Big love
Thanks for the visit I appreciate it
Good 👍 and thanks for helping us with that is
Hey that was mine doing i thought it was a rod knock , thanks for sharing...
Gotta be a Honda/Acura, they’re notorious for failing timing belt tensioners.
Thank you I hope that's all mine needs
yes hopefully good luck
This is exactly the sound I’m getting from my 05 tsx. Timing chain time.
Hopefully you got an upgraded one and not a cheap stock one…
Having this issue with my 2006 maxima got a full timing chain kit cause it’s harder to check what it is havent drive it since
Thanks my brother cool
thank you brother I think this is my problem too.
The crank is bouncing around quite a bit as well
Thinking the same thing lol wobbly as hell
Looks like an Acura MDX timing belt and tensioner. Super duper common lol
My 2002 Isuzu rodeo did this was a pain to do the timing belt and put everything in time,if you ever do timing on a Isuzu rodeo 3.2 or 3.5 also the Honda passports and amigos are the same some Acuras have the 6vd1 or 6ve1 engines be sure to phase the cams even if it was in time before starting the job.youll save yourself the headache of tearing ot back down again.by phasing the cams it puts them in what Isuzu calls neutral position where all valves are closed.
Damn I feel like I just got this! Gonna try tomorrow to see if it is that
nope yours is rod knock
@@jamescraigson5069 Yep definitely was 🤣

This was exactly what was fix on my car today 05 300 chrysler parts and labor $250
If you are replacing a tensioner. Get a washer that fits on the shaft and a cotter pin.
Using the washer as a shim and leaving very little space make a mark on the old tension before you remove. Measure and mark the shaft on the new one. Drill a hole put on washer then pull pin then cotter pin.
If it ever fails you won’t run risk of jumping timing because the plunger won’t fully collapse but you will get noise.
Thank you
I have a 2009 Honda pilot, and I’m having the same rod noise, I was told by a mechanic that it could be the lifters? Any suggestions or advice? I currently don’t have a job and I can’t afford any major expenses, as for the tensioner and timing belt recently changed them like 1 year ago, is it possible that the mechanic did something or failed to install the tensioner properly? Or maybe the tensioner itself failed? It was an after market tensioner not an oem one. I would appreciate any feedback and suggestions please. God bless.
My man. Thank you.
No problem
Oh my God. My car just started making this noise. Thank you
That crank is toast
This is what my car sounds like
Honda v-6. See it like every week it seems lol
Parts quality these days
But the Honda fans on the internet told me it was just one model year and extremely rare lol
While the car is idling you can put ur finger on the back of the tensioner and feel it knocking as well
Try taking your alternator belt off then run it and see if the noise stops first.
Exactly what’s wrong w my 370z the sound comes every once or twice a week so I know for sure it’s not anything serious and on cold starts it’s makes this exact sound
g37 does same
Same here but now instead of on starts it’s most of the time and when you hear the sound my oil gauge drops
@@ShroomyReloads check your cat converter or check for an exhaust leak I have a really bad one and it’s rattling like crazy.
Good ol pilots
Hell yeah brotha
Damn that really does sound like rod knock
yes it does
Have to remove cover to see though?
yes
Not only that but the crank is bouncing around as well 😂😂😂. That motor is about to die in many different ways
Rasta man respect is this an easy job for grand cmax
Can a rod bearing cause timing chain to fail or vice versa? This happened to be I heard knocking & I also heard the timing chain
no
Yeeeeaaaahhh Monnnn, now let’s Smoke Some Ganga…….
whats going on with bottom pulley engine has more issues.
That's too fast of a noise interval for rod knock. What decent mechanic is gonna diagnose timing cover noise as rod knock hahahaha
Can drive with this symptom?
My x left me for a bad timing belt tensioner
What does that even mean?
She probably took his car with the issur
Bro what 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Wao 😂 idk why i laugh cause mine did too. Is okay cause now im clapping her sister cheeks
Thank,s bro
Is the AC compressor Pulley
So we're not gonna talk about the crank dancing around like a hula girl?
lol its moving a little
So my truck could've had this issue. I changed the oil on a hot summer day, the very next morning was cold. My motor was knocking on heavens door. I checked all push rods and no problem there.
Who do u check ur rods I’m so confused I can’t find any vids on how
My 1998 Toyota Camry just stalled three time today and there is a knocking sound coming from somewhere at the top of the engine (I suppose) mechanics are all telling me to replace the engine like that’s inexpensive 😢
I just replaced my engine two weeks ago then it started the same issue, I pray it’s the belt
Hopefully it was nothing serious
So I just bought a 2015 Acura TLX with 160,000 miles all the service records are still in the glove box and the timing belt and water pump has been replaced at 100,000 I still have the 30 day thousand mile warranty from the dealer do you think they will cover this?
Do you have a failure? Also you said 30k mile warranty. Starting at what mileage
No, the warranty gave me 1000 mile 30 day warranty I haven’t even had the car for 24 hours
Like the dealer limited warranty when you buy the car
Looks like a Honda. J35?
What engine is this?
Can it also make the car struggle to start up?
Yes
But that is when the car is idling, my friends car only makes that noise when he’s slowing down on idle, no noise at all
on which year and make?
2006 Odyssey
MI dodge caliber had the same noise and jus switch off by its self can't crank it now Don know if the engine seized or knocked
Put a socket on crank puller bolt and try to turn the engine by hand

my 02 passat 1.8t is making this noise and is on limp mode( no turbo) . yet the engine runs well no smoke or over heating could this be why.
No more then likely the turbo pooped it’s pants common on them

@@RastamanBuilds thank you !!
😂 oil rigging it 😂
Lol
I like you.
So J35 2012 honda accord makes the noise and has been doing this for awhile but only when the engine is cold, after 2 minutes the noise goes away, and runs all day perfectly, and it'll only knock if its below 70° temperature outside. Is it still timing belt tensioner? Its getting below 60° at night and in the morning it knocks but i let it warm up a few minutes till the noise goes away, and it's fine.
What viscosity oil do you use
@@RastamanBuilds I use mobile 1 ow-20 high mileage full synthetic, I change it every 3500 miles, the knocking has been happening for about 60K miles, my oil burns half a quart at about 2500 miles between oil changes, I just fill it every time. Now that it getting colder I want to fix it cause it's getting louder and I haven't been able to find the actual issue.
How easy is it to fit ?
Challenging
I think this is the issue I’m having with my jeep patriot
What year?
My bmw doing this
change your oil more often.
No one talking about the crank shaft?
Thats what im thinkin
Just don't look at it
Well should be mentioned that its a bolt in the crankshaft and not the crankshaft itself. Could be that the bolt is loose.
that sounds absolutely nothing like rod knock.... it makes the engine sound like a cassette player.
Hello I have a qiestion
yes please ask
Always put crank pulley back on b4 starting... I seen a fellow tech lose the belt and bang. Bye bye engine.
Put it.back on then start.

my bmw e46 is making this sort of noise at 2-3k rpm but no knock at idle and below or above those rpm’s and my pulleys are bad which drive all the belts. hopping it’s this lol
so ?? what was it, got the same
@@vitalybrateev5548 unfortunately in my case it was a bad rod bearing, car was just so loud that you could barely hear any knock at all during idle. hope it’s not the same for yours

So what was it?
Looks like it's The Honda/Acura V6
Odyssey
@@RastamanBuilds ok thx so much because my Accord V6 is making this noise 🤦🏾
This isnt knock, but its just as bad as knock and could kill your engine and will cost 3k instead of 1
You have two videos saying different stuff. Other one you said rod knock
Can i send you a video of my car running? Its making a noise like this but idk for sure, 1999 Toyota Corolla
Yes Rastamanbuilds@gmail
Me too bro I’ve got a 2004 s4 which has a similar issuue would you assist me please
Lucky for you the timing belt tensioner on corolla engines are a breeze to replace, They're located on the top left side of the engine and its held on by 2 10mms. I replaced mine on my corolla, Only because it was leaking.
Made in China 😢😢😢
Toyota is best. Period.
funny how I found this video because my Prius just got the knock 😘 gotta love Toyota eh
But they break also :) like the rest
Get yourself an electric car. One moving part on the motor. Done.
Just spend 60k ...and 20k for a new battery every 8 to 10 years
@@thedaredevil1907 The battery lasts way longer than 10 years, probably longer than the car itself. So spend 50k for an I.D3 and drive it for the next 20 to 25 years.
I have a 10 year old Zoe myself. She has 200000km and no issues whatsoever.
One moving part? 🤣🤣 electric cars still have a gear box full of oil, suspension components, brakes ect.
