      I know I shouldn't think like this, but I guess James Burton is glad he wasn't Rick's lead guitar player at the time.

    Tom Snyder is just a great interviewer. He's like sitting on the couch in your livingroom & talking to a friend.

    I saw Rick Nelson and the Stone Canyon Band on their last tour before the terrible tragedy. I feel fortunate that I did. I really liked Rick and I thought he was a great singer and musician, much more than a teenage idol and movie/TV star.

    10:45 Rick could ROCK! He had EVERYTHING going on, should be remembered more. Only Elvis was bigger and Rick was as big a teen heartthrob in his youth!

    This is pretty amazing. This is another example of how Tom Snyder and Kelly Lange became better interviewers as time went on.

    Rick Nelson was an American icon. I had the opportunity to see him in Guntersville denied he was killed, and did not do it, and have regretted it ever since.

    Such a tragedy that Rick died in that plane crash. What a huge loss for all of us. He seems like a very humble, polite and friendly down to earth guy.

    • @wardarcade7452
      @wardarcade7452 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      By the time the divorce was final, Rick was happy to get it! Sadly, he and Kris Harmon embodied the adage of 'marry in haste, repent at leisure'- although he always adored their four children that they brought into the world!

  • @JDlupin

    Both brothers are so handsome and charming. And both seem like they genuinely have good souls. Does anyone else find the interviewer to be a little rude and condescending side? Like he keeps slipping in little jabs and when hes “nice” he seems very stagy and fake. Rick knows what hes trying to do but hes staying dignified and the gentleman he is.

    that is true what he says about the Beatles...it was Boom and you never heard from or thought about Ricky Nelson again until "Garden Party"... I remember a girl said to me hey you remember Ricky Nelson? well this is what he looks like now...and shows me a picture....I didn't recognize him...that was about 1972....

      According to Wikipedia, the entire Stone Canyon Band perished in the crash, along with Rick's fiance.

    • @marke6569
      @marke6569 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The only survivors were the Pilot & Co Pilot. All perished Rick, and his Band- Bobby Neal, Andy Chapin, Rick Intveld, Patrick Woodward, Sound Technician- Donald Russel6 Clark, & Rick's Fiancee Helen Blair. Crash was caused when Heater in Passenger area of the aircraft caught fire and Co-pilot opened air vents which caused fire to spread. Plane crash landed and Pilot & Co-pilot punched out cockpit window and escaped. Miss Rick and entire Band everyday. Rick and Band performed his Imperial legendary hits & new recordings to perfection. Rick was way more than The Teen Idol that the Press always labeled him. He was progressive wrote his own songs and unlike Elvis he performed his hits accurately even adding new twists which he did with tunes like I Believe What You Say. He said I hate that the Media refers to me as a Teen Idol and puts me in the category with Frankie Avalon & Fabian, I have nothing against them but my Music is So Much More. IT'S My Life. He paved the way for all Country Rock Bands including The Eagles. Epic Records never gave him the proper promotion on his Outstanding LP Intakes . Every song great. Stay Young should have been released as a single and would have put him back at the top of the Charts. Country Singer Don Williams recorded it 7 years later and took it to #1 on The Country Charts. He did a fine job but Rick & The Stone Canyon reign on this. Love that Matt & Gunnar honor their Pop as they refer to him. Only wish that Rick would have listened to his friend Pat Upton ( Lead of The Spiral Staircase) I love you more today than yesterday fame. The Bands last Gig was when they were playing Nightclub that Pat owned and they their Plane was having mechanical problems with one of the engines. It was fixed and before that Pat had told them to take a Commerial Flight to the next Gig. If only. Miss Rick & Wonderful Band Everyday. 🎙🎸🎹➕🌷🎶📻

      @@fanboyfilms2915 Correct. 7 people died in the crash. Only the pilot and copilot came away alive. They crawled out thru the windshield. The copilot, Ferguson, was severly burned in the accident. He passed away recently. Fergusen set the story straight about the plane crash. It was not drugs, but a faulty heater that started to smoke and caught fire.The cabin filled up quickly and the pilots couldn't see. It was the pilot who insisted the heater be turned on even though he knew it was faulty.

    • @melaniexoxo
      @melaniexoxo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was multiple repair errors that did it. I heard the mechanics screwed up several things.

      @@marke6569absolutely I absolutely love Rick Nelson and his whole family they were just good loving people. And for them to put that they were doing freebase Coke on the plane that's what caused the plane to crash was absolute bulshit it was the effing heater. But I guess the truth wouldn't sell many papers can't stand the media

    1st Snyder show....Lead guitar is too loud during the songs....not balanced, drowns out the voices and even the drums. Or the mic is up too much for the lead guitar.

    Elvis was great but over rated and people thought he was some kind of god.

    • @melaniexoxo

      Elvis was best in the very beginning of his career. The days in Vegas were those old fans keeping his show going. I was a teen in the late 70s and he was mostly an old folks thing

    • @rickwhite3181

      Yeah agreed I think Ricks music is Soo much better than Elvis . And Elvis didn't write any songs

    • @dennydeckerful
      @dennydeckerful 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @melanieElvis was still having hits in the 70s, and selling out stadiums til the end. Rick was playing dinner theaters and Jerry Lee was playing beer joints. So stop all this nonsense. xoxo

    • @dennydeckerful
      @dennydeckerful 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Elvis was not over rated, Rick was an Elvis fan and patterned his music after Elvis's. Rick got on drugs and tried to change his sound and look and it failed. Said he rather drive a truck than play his old songs, that was a lie. He ended up playing his old songs rather than drive a truck. A friend of mine saw him play in a dinner theater that held 283 people in southern Indiana right across from Louisville where Elvis was playing for 20,000. Over rated, I think not.

    • @fanboyfilms2915
      @fanboyfilms2915  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I suppose I wasn't clear when I used that figure of 200. I have been collecting all things "Tomorrow" from every source I can find, including TH-cam. The majority of that 200 is from TH-cam and can be viewed right here. I have something like 10-20 pieces that are nor already on here and that's what I was preparing to share. But as I said in another post, my circumstances have changed and I will have to hold off on that for now. Hopefully those pieces will be shared in the not-too-distant future.
