Watching this video it like he’s still alive! I sure wish he was. He left this world way too young! Wish the song would of been included in the video. R.I.P. Rick ❤️❤️
I ran into Rick one night in that narrow hallway at the Roxy...I was heading to the restroom...and he just happened to walk in the door at the end..,coming in, as he was playing that night...The hall was so narrow we both had to turn sideways to pass. I said a couple of nice things, looking forward to the show, and he really nice, said thanks, and was so unpretentous, and down to earth.. He was EXACTLY THE SAME nice guy we always saw on TV... It made a nice memory. Thanks for posting this...
Thanks, jesmelric, good interview. Knowing Rick, as I did, this brought back memories of just the two of us, sitting around talking. He was so down-to-earth and just as you expected him to be. The way he was on t.v. show was the same as he was in person. Love you forever, Rick.
How fortunate you were to know him! Thanks for your comment.Nice to know that Rick was the same in person as on the show. I loved his shy personality.❤️❤️
Here, yes, but check out another interview from E.T. with Tom Snyder & Connie Chung from 1983. They’re very negative & she’s so fake saying he was happily married, as if to make him admit that it was no longer the case...like rubbing his very public divorce in his face! It’s terrible!
Tom Synder gets it. Rick and Ozzie brought acceptance of rock n roll thru excellent written dialog that Harriet delievered with Rick, persuading America to accept the new younger generation of music. Tom eerily reiterates what Rick became trapped in a oldies Ricky touring cycle with a manager only interested in the fast easy bucks; not Ricks desire and natural creative evolution musically. I was able to connect relate to and motivate Rick with the reality of a comtemporary new album and comeback pointing to Tina Turner ( no disrespect) but this was his time MTV! I was so fortunate to have had the unique history with Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys and similiar self serving management (Dr Landy) and reconized the senario with Rick and went for it.. giving Rick recording recording equipment and sanctuary behind the gates of his Errol Flynn mansion. Rick after years of not writing and recording new songs found his desire and creative resurrection with me and began writing and recording new original music while we geared up for a major comeback in the new era of MTV which was made for the extremely handsome and talented Rick in the final years. 1986 was destined for greatness as we were doing a album at his mansion and Jimmy Haskell in the studio with the band... Harriet held cutting of the cake at Rick's final birthday party, at his Errol Flynn mansion untill I arrived, so that she could look me in the eyes and tell me how significant my friendship and work with Rick was " Jamie I havn't SEEN MY RICKY THIS HAPPY IN YEARS!" Wow it blew me away. Harriet continued, tapping her finger on my heart in time with the words, " Now Jamie .. I WANT YOU TO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!" Staring deep into my eyes making sure I understood how important it was .. both of us tearing up.. then a smile as Harriet looked towards the others saying "Alright now lets cut the cake!" -JAMIE FRESH
What super memories! He had so many great things set up for 1986. I wish he could’ve turned back the clock for a do over to get rid of that plane sooner.
I still love you, Ricky. My mother wanted to be Mary Lou. Mom and I both were your fans. You did make rock and roll acceptable to both generations. Mom and I miss you.
Thanks for posting so many great clips of Rick! Thus is a very good one! If this was 1981 Rick must have been about 41 yrs old here! I miss him so much, this is great to see him in this, like he's here again. Would have liked it see him sing as well? Thank you!
He just looks sooo handsome!!!!! When he was talking about rock n roll it's so funny how the older population in the 50s thought of it as being so horrible!
I watched The Nelsons on television & thought the family were fantastic. In fact looking at some families today I think back & wonder 'wouldn't it be nice if they could have seen The Nelsons and maybe learned a thing or two about politeness'.
@@jesmelric thanks for the quick response. Actually I hate to say it but you have three clips and I have two that I think would make a good set, with Tom Snyder and Rick Nelson. Your interest seems to be in Nelson while I am trying to assemble as much of Snyder as I can. So if you're okay with that I will do so and give you credit.
With Nelson or Snyder? I’m pretty unimpressive after Snyder & Chung’s grilling of Rick in a 1983 interview! She was such a fake saying he was happily married when she & the world knew damn well he was divorced! Sickens me!
Let the man speak . The interruptions are even worse today , especially on the extremely rare occasion when someone truly interesting and decent , like Rick Nelson here , agrees to be interviewed . IMO
The Legend Rick Nelson. He was a real honest to goodness showman. We Love and Miss you Rick!
Watching this video it like he’s still alive! I sure wish he was. He left this world way too young! Wish the song would of been included in the video. R.I.P. Rick ❤️❤️
it's amazing - especially today - how this family stuck together, even after they grew up; so nice to know it could be

I see Rick as being somewhat shy. These clips are great !
He was a great singer and a good looking guy.still love and miss him.
I love his voice.
Thanks for putting this up. It’s great to see and it’s also great that his twins are carrying on the family music.

He seems to be kinda shy, am I wrong?
Wow, you are very lucky. :)

Love Rick Nelson!
Rick Nelson is a fantastic human being
Unfortunately, never got to see him in person. I don't think Rick got the credit he deserved in rock & roll and more so country rock.
My first favorite singer, when I was a kid.
Thanks, jesmelric, for letting me know about any upcoming interviews. I will look forward to seeing them. Thanks, sweetie.
You could tell Tom was a big fan-gave him a lot of respect

You can tell he was all business. His father's values are apparent.
I still love you, Ricky. My mother wanted to be Mary Lou. Mom and I both were your fans. You did make rock and roll acceptable to both generations. Mom and I miss you.
I never got to see him in person but, I never missed the TV show. I have been a huge fan since the very first time I saw him

jesmelric,
Are you still active here? I have the other half of this clip, the performance. Would you mind if I married it to your half and posted it?
Sounds great :)

My uncle worked with Tom Snyder. He was unimpressed.
