Saturday Night (2024) Late Night Saga Reviews
I give my thoughts on "Saturday Night", a film chronicling the premiere of "Saturday Night Live" in 1975 and the 90 minutes directly preceding it going live to air.

Late Night with the Devil & Tom Snyder Meets Dracula | Late Night Saga Reviews
มุมมอง 255หลายเดือนก่อน
Just in time for Christmas, it's a very late Halloween review of "Late Night with the Devil," a sort of "Exorcist" knockoff on a late night chat show. I also take a look at a real life late night host, Tom Snyder, on his appearance in "McCloud Meets Dracula!" #latenight #exorcist #dracula #tomsnyder

Before Johnny Carson landed his most famous gig as host of The Tonight Show for 30 years, he hosted a number of programs, including several dubbed "The Johnny Carson Show." I'll review all of them, and of course touch upon his most famous pre-Tonight gig, hosting "Who Do You Trust?" Fanboy Films on Facebook: profile.php?id=61551581416580

While collecting some vintage Johnny Carson DVDs from the thrift store, I kept running into Jack Benny DVDs. Knowing that Mr. Benny was an inspiration for Mr. Carson, I thought I should dig in and see what it's all about. Fanboy Films on Facebook: profile.php?id=61551581416580
Can I actually fix my kitchen air fryer?
มุมมอง 6Kปีที่แล้ว
UPDATE - 2023, May 2: My air fryer stopped working again 2 days ago, exactly 3 months after the fix in this video. I speed-ran to the fuse and got it replaced, including the tricky nut, in about 90 minutes. Only then did I do proper testing and realize that the fuse wasn't the problem. I decided to try replacing the switch next, which did the trick. $12.99 bought me a box of 6 switches on Amazo...

My thoughts on "I Am Woman", the biopic about Helen Reddy who was the first female host of a network late night show (The Midnight Special 1975-1976). The movie doesn't talk about her hosting, though. "I Am Woman" trailer th-cam.com/video/Hf58dxvkG9A/w-d-xo.html

As wise and as large G K Chesterton.
" I don't have a bank account."
Imagine conducting an interview with an extremely intelligent man... then expect that he is going to parrot the answer you want. Orson should have walked out!
Who is more insufferable Snyder or Cavett ?
Life is evil & cruel rip Rick and band
Snyder is wildly cringe in this interview particularly. I challenge one to watch a second time. More takeaways the 2nd time. 15-20 negative slights of Tommy boys jabs calling him arrogant and an obedient servant multiple times in a childish posh tone. Incredibly and consistently disagreeable etc etc etc I could go on and on but what is most intriguing is Orsons masterful positivity keeping his own energy intact and holding a stronger frame to carry the room and turn a hater into a fan with his charm and masculinity which tommy boy exudes the opposite of. Tommy boy strikes me as a rich little Jew boy who’s always been terrible w/ women who can mainly get his rocks off by tryna put others down to sadly make himself feel more important.
I didn’t even know this movie existed, thank you very much
Not for nothing, Eddie Anderson feels more like part of a double act with Jack Benny, even in retrospect. The chemistry they built up over literal decades is pretty damn palpable, as are other holdovers from radio. You can tell a sort of family was formed around the Benny program, which is pretty neat.
They definitely seemed like a comedy duo most of the time!
I think I know why the Peacock versions have varying runtimes, and it does have to do with clearing rights. There's a bunch of sketches that used copyrighted music, and there might even be sketches which they don't want to re-air (for example I know the Martin Lawrence episode had its monologue removed because they didn't like the subject). If you listen to the Lonely Island podcast, they often mention a bunch of sketches from each show that are not online simply because NBC hasn't cleared all the rights, and those guys joined up in the mid-00s. It's also why the shows start being complete around season 40, because 2014-2015 is about when online streaming was really taking off, so you can imagine them being like 'ok let's put these in everyone's contracts from now on'. As to why they wouldn't put in the effort to change that, I imagine there's not a lot of pressure for the complete release of the Howard Hesseman episode from season 8, and they don't need to have the full thing in there to say they have every episode of SNL in their streaming service.
Still, it seems unlikely that a 65 minute episode would be trimmed down to 17 minutes because of music licensing. And it's not just the one show, it's many of them.
Wow! A movie that talks about what happened behind the scenes of Saturday Night Live before it actually premiered. That's interesting. I wonder if that will lead to movies about the premieres of legendary late night talk shows. That would be extremely interesting.
I can't imagine there won't be a Johnny Carson biopic at some point.
@fanboyfilms2915 Well, anything can happen at this point.
My favorite actor. Such a poet. This man to this very day is still an icon 😊❤
My god Tom Snyder is a jackass
Nut on fan is a righty offe not regular, so if you hold the fan near the shaft with u r hand nut will come off then separate the necessary parts to get to blown item!
Where were you when I was wrestling with that sucker?
Orson could charm a rock
Imagine Orson being alive today and having access to digital editing. He would enter the editing room and we'd never see him again
With Costco you dont need the reciept they can look up your Purchase history
Orson was so interesting with a great sense of humor honest self deprecating, high of integrity, honesty and humility. I say that after watching as many interviews as I have found on utube. He noted there are “too many of us” overpopulation even back in 75 and we are “animals” as I believe and our future is bleak. Boy did he have it right! I wish someone would have asked him…why have you got so damn overweigh. It killed him early at 70.
this interviewer is kind of a psycho
Tom Snyder was among the most excellent interviewers of the 20th Century. Orson, always charming, interesting and informative. God bless them both in His Realm.
Hi this seems like x pain .I'm not good at fixin stuff I have the same model as u .it lasted about 2 yrs then on sun morning.the lit went in as it should I put food in and bam no power.thdnjs EMerrill.lol.we bought a new chefman a few weeks ago.125.im hoping it lasts a long time..I was thinking maybe it's a fuse or a quick fix but it looks like not x quick fix
What a bunch of hot air
One of his best narrations is a Night Gallery episode: Silent Snow Secret Snow. I could listen to him for hours!
Youre the only channel that showed exactly how to take it apart. Mine isnt this exact make or model, but similar style. Drunk, tired, 2 am me thanks you for the chicken tendies.
I'm happy you have midnight chicken.
Eternal peace to both
Such a great video man thank you! And it’s always a plus seeing rare Tom Snyder clips!
Glad you liked it!
Well, that is very fascinating. A scary version of a late night talk show that's hosted by someone who looks a lot like Tom Snyder!? Well, I must say that I am shocked. Then again, Tom Snyder did do Halloween activities on The Tomorrow Show. So, there you go.
I never saw any evidence that Carson did Halloween stuff. I wonder if he thought that was for kids? Snyder did Halloween stuff, later Letterman did too.
@fanboyfilms2915 Yeah. That's something for you to explore.
Rick Nelson left us to soon. He never got the credit he deserved for his part in the growth of rock music......
Smart people smoke kids.
5:38 he was a polarizing human being.
Could never stand Tom Snyder he’s terrible! Poor questions!
Any plans to review the new Carson biography?
I haven't really reviewed books yet, but that would be a great one!
both of them were great
Snyder started that awkwardly, I will ask the questions
45 minutes perfectly spent.
Fascinating to note the difference between a cosmopolitan and a traditional North American. No need to specify which is which, I hope.
He is THE "Renegade."
He is THE "Renegade."
Invaded by Martians? No."We're invaded by people." (Orson Welles)
Just did the fuse job and it lasted 10 minutes
That sucks. Mine lasted about a month. I kept replacing it every month but eventually the circuit board in the unit fried.
@@fanboyfilms2915 I think next time I'll try cleaning the thermal sensor real good too..If it's accesable
I just can’t take Tom Snyder. He was probably one of the worst interviewers ever. every actor claims to be a non-conformist, but they are all mostly like sheep. I am reminded of that with all of the lemmings endorsing Kamala Harris, like a bunch of sheep. Wells was a relatively interesting man.
Hey babe, wake up. A new late night saga just dropped.
Thank you, my friend. A cup of joe and a Late Night Saga make for a fine morning!
Idk how I didn’t know about this second channel. Good stuff!
They are always jealous of real talent...
It’s funny how Letterman-esque young Johnny was. Or I guess how young-Carson-esque Letterman was.
Johnny Carson was ready for The Tonight Show back then. It's just that he had to go through a few tough times and a couple of waiting periods before he could get that. It looks like there might be hope for aspiring late night talk show hosts like me after all.
I always like uncovering how the famous folks got started. Nice to know that even the G.O.A.T. had a few failures before he made it! There's hope for us all.
@@fanboyfilms2915 Yes, indeed! Johnny Carson never gave up, and neither should we.
Top 10 geniuses of the last century.
I have an air fryer and it's nice. Today the power just cut out. Researched and figured out it's the thermal fuse. The air fryer goes up to 400F and my son put it at 390 for wings. It got half way through cooking and cut off. I see it's a 190c fuse which is 374 degrees F. U think maybe it did get too hot from that? Why would they throw a 190c in there if the fryer gets to 400? My main question is, until I can get a new thermal fuse, why can't I just jump it using thevsane guage wire? They say, "your kitchen and fryer is burn down" but how if there isn't really any issue but just that it tan too hot. Like we just keep it at 365 F and lower like we usually do. Thoughts?
18:20-Are those laws still in effect? Watching today's news telecasts have people believing in an alternate reality.
Great comments on avarice. Orson really knew what he was doing. The Stranger is awesome. However he probably resented being associated with the House of UnAmeican Activites. But he is too much of a gentleman to say that.
Pinky And The Brain is his best work.
