Wow, what a strange land. Not in my wildest imagination would I have thought a desert oasis would be so extensive in area 🤔 You wouldn't want to roam around the tomb area at night in case of breaking a leg falling in a hole! 😮 Love seeing your adventures Gabe.

Among other people, there would have been Allied soldiers posted on those hills in 1940-1942, looking out at the Western Desert for any sign of Rommel's troops invading through the desert wastes. While most of the fighting occurred in the coastal plains, it was easy for raiding parties from both sides (like the Allied Long Range Desert Group, a precursor to today's Special Air service) to cut south through the empty desert and attack supply lines.

    Fascinating!Check out a Greek archaeologist,
Dimitra Souvaltzi, who spent her own money because she was convinced (after much reading) that Alexander the Great is buried in the Oasis of Shiva. She was grossly ridiculed by the Greek government but she DID find the ancient Temple of Zeus which Alexander had visited because his mother had brought him up with the conviction that he was the son of Zeus (Jupiter,to the Romans.)She DID find ancient Greek epigraphs of his tomb in Siwa.
Port Said is an anagram of port of:Dias,by the way.Dias was the Aether-living god who divides and creates genes, while Zeus was his counterpart-god who unites them into an harmonious whole.
(The arch enemies of this,by the way,are the Saturn- worshippers,
since Saturn was the one who "ate his children" and within whose reign there was no reproduction but at least longevity. They still worship the 6-pointed star.)
