I, for one, can’t wait to be in the middle of the madness and amazing fooood! I will embrace, with a little more patience, as much as the chaotic scenes of Vietnam and other similar countries. Thanks for your perspective!
Been India twice in the last several years. Three months the first time and just under five month the second time. Fantastic experiences both trips. Lots of diverse culture, great food, amazing natural beauty and cultural/historical sites. As you said not the kind of travel for everyone, not alway easy or comfortable travel. Loved both of my trips there and will be back in either 2025 or 2026.
Definitely I love my trip too. I went to south side of India it's really beautiful especially the kerala its paradise place ,also the food is amazing too not all part of india not look like that I think, anyway its beautiful trip for me..
bald has lived in India for 4 years 1995 to 1999. backpacker Ben has been to India 8 times before this trip. they all know India too well to know which season to avoid, which places to go, which places to avoid and trains. it was intentionally done to rage bait Indians and gain views.
I've travelled to India 18 times Doing around 30,000 miles on a motorbike around rural areas Yes it's stressful, strange, dirty and crazy, but every moment I cherish, as I had the best moments of my life in India 🇮🇳❤️

You can find the same scenery in every large city in India. It is a overpopulated, polluted and unorganized place. If people cannot cope with reality, that they should live in their fairy tales.
@@dissco.partysan3333 You are right about India being polluted, overpopulated, disorganised chaos and it definitely needs change. But it was the same 5 years ago, and 2 years ago too, when he came and made his videos to grow his channel. My question is why couldn't Mr. Bald make such a video back then. Back then he was quite okay with whatever 'issues' he is trying to point out right now. His tone has literally changed drastically only now, all thanks to the current internet opinion about India. Which means either he was acting back then for money and views or he is acting right now for money and views.
Bald and bankrupt was loving the country and celebrating his 50K subscribers sitting in a hotel somewhere in mumbai and once he got famous turned into a snake
he is sex predator he got exposed on online forum already, where is had pretty weird fetish for poor country girls where he can easily sex travel without getting arrested

Just dont visit Old delhi and Ganges belt states. Either Go Northest point of India, Southern India Or Northeast India. Otherwise India is gonna be a big mess for you 😂
I knew bald was a snake long back when he came to India in 2018, I can seen the sick sarcasm in his language about India, I even left a comment about it in one of his videos.
I think you're being too kind to him Gabe. Its not about whether Bald was right or wrong (and there is alot he is right about). But It didnt feel like he had any intention of showing anything other than the bad side. it was just a really condescending video. It almost felt like he just went to India to trash it (no pun intended). I am English so I get theres the English deprecating humour, but really he is so condescending and demeaning to even just the locals who are actually trying to be nice to him, with smart arse comments. He has learnt a bit of the local language so I think he feels it makes him feel entitled to be a dick basically.
It is not a current tend to bash India in Britain. The British have had a long history of lying about India. James Mill (who became No2 in the East India Co.) and never once went to India - presented India as a Land of Eternal Poverty and Famine (blaming it on a supposed 'Hinduism' which was supposedly unchanged for 3,000 years. Gabriel you've spent 2 and a half years of your life traveling inside of India (Bharat) so you are an authority on saying if it's worth visiting. I met Gabriel in Amritsar last year and he's a stand up guy. I have spent 8 months of my life traveling in North India plus Mumbai and Bhubaneswar and Jagannath Puri. Here are some tips for potential different travelers to India. If you don't like crowded and noisy places and people bothering you a lot, then do not go to the crowded areas in India like Old Delhi, Old Varanasi, The Pink City of Jaipur, etc. If you want more tranquil areas, go to the Parvati Valley in Himachal Pradesh, Rishikesh, Dharamshala, Pushkar, etc. If you value your sleep, avoid traveling on sleeper trains or sleeper buses. Just take a flight or a real luxury train. Chandigarh is a super clean and beautiful city in Punjab. I was there. I could go on but ah well. People in India are very kind in general outside the touristy hot spots. Gabe is doing a great job of giving you the full scoop.
Oh I would love to see these tranquil places, and once in time I would to the crowded cities to see some places, like the Tajmahal and others, Also I would love to see Kajuraho, and the cherry on top of the cake... PUNA! TO meet the sanyasins and be along there for as long as possible.
Found Chandigarh very boring. And for over four months now I have had stomach problems from a meal in Chandigarh, so I am extra bitter towards that city.
@@stephenoconnell7636 should've seen the condition of that place from where you have eating whatever you were eating. i live in chandigarh, man. and ofcourse if you would eat street food in rainy season you might can get stomach problems, it's common sense.
Are you actually saying that people didn't constantly follow you around trying to harass and exploit you for money in those place ? Or are you just pointing out that there are less scammers then in the more touristy spots ?
After watching yours, Bald's and many other Indian videos, I too went to India last year. Had the best time, so much I'm going back soon.Took your advice and visited Mussoorie. Yes it is dirty etc, but you need to look beyond and see the beauty.
exactly. Here in Australia the society just accepts drunk men and women pissing on the streets, against the shop windows etc at night. My pristine country road is now littered with McDonald's and KFC packages, someone just dropped all their junk on the side of the road! So yes India has refused to develop mentality and has dirt problem but outside that the country is beautiful.
Bald filmed the worst place in India, which is Paharganj in Delhi. Most Indians don't even dare to go there.. It's like filming the drug ridden zombie area in Philly and saying the entire USA is like that. People are easily deceived.
I've stayed in Paharganj several times and enjoyed affordable hotels and wonderful rooftop restaurants. Very convenient to the train station and it is thronged with people from all over the world. Lots of people go there and I will go back. With a little street savvy it is easy to avoid trouble.
Paharganj has been a backpackers scene for decades because it's next to the railway station as well as near the Grand Mosque and Red Fort. It's gritty but an interesting place to start or end your trip to India. Always fun to get a beer at one of the rooftop restaurants and watch the birds flying overhead. I've seen other parts of Delhi but I will always plan to stay in Paharganj. I stayed in the Haus Khaz area one time and it was alright, but not as cool of a scene.
Paharganj is not dangerous. If it was not do many tourists would stay there. And india is definitely worth visiting . Not everything is about how clean or not a place is. There are so many interesting things to see in India. And it's a little difficult for some western ppl to see it through the dirt and pollution.
Please do not go to old Delhi and avoid crowded places, either go up north (Himalayas belt) or go south. Avoid gangetic belt and you'll be fine. You can literally spend months just exploring the upper North alone, it's a paradise on earth.
@@CelticMickWalks Mumbai is fine, avoid slums. Amritsar does not have anything much apart from the Golden temple, which is fine to visit once, but the city itself is very 'delhi' like chaotic. I would recommend Chandigarh which is very near to Amritsar, absolutely amazing and calm city.
I was a little nervous going to India the first time last year. I ended up spending 5 months which was much longer than I had planned as I fell in love with it. On your first trip to India I think it's best to start in the south and work your way into it.
I spent a month in India last fall after the rainy season and loved it! I had a great time and I can attribute that to you and your videos. I learned a lot from you before I went.
I stopped watching bald's and Ben's vids a while back and a few other channels. Mainly because they seem to look for the worst. The most dangerous, the scariest etc etc. They are like the gutter press over in the UK. TH-cam meets daily express. Bald has been to India many times, why does he keep going back? He knows exactly what he's doing to work those views. It's not worth making a video about , but I watched it anyways cos you the man gabriel
His motivations are questionable. They went to Sinaloa and after a few days abruptly left without explaining. They were trying to portray it as being safe, which is absurd since this region often has 25 homicides per week. They did the same thing in northern Pakistan and were forced out, and gave no explanation. Their vids lately are trying for sensationalism.
I hope he gets banned from entering India. Ungrateful folks like him are neither needed nor welcome in India. Constructive criticism is okay but insulting India while choosing to be there just for poverty porn views is outrageous. If you dislike India so much, just don't come.
When I was in India last October, we traveled by train in business class. It wasn't that expensive and came with a meal and beverage. The dogs we encountered were mostly sleeping on the sidewalk.
You are right. They are just seeking "clicks" for their You Tube channel and NOT to be taken seriously. It is both easy and lazy (and a cliche) to paint India as "dirty and chaotic" !
You must not watch his channel very much. He doesn’t have a vacation. He doesn’t seek out the nicest spots. He seeks out adventure and explores a country to see what it’s like.
Hi Gabe , going back to India for the 4th time in Jan. All the points you made are excellent ! I recommend Jawai, Pench National Park and try Eastern India, Brahmaputra River , Karazinga, so many amazing places
I spent a month in India earlier this year, as a mobility scooter/wheelchair user. India has very bad infrastructure and terrible accessibility, and yet it was still my favorite trip ever. The people, food and vibe of India are truly incredible and I encourage everyone to go and visit this wonderful country. The people are truly truly incredible. I even had a romantic experience there. And I’ll never forget the Uber driver who chased me into a mall for 15 minutes to find me because I left my AirPods in his car. Watching Gabriel’s videos about India last year helped me a lot in taking the leap to go to India. He really does a great job of showing the real India
Ayy thanks for ur honesty 🙏🏼 But not every cities or Areas have bad infrastructure in India, you can go to Hyderabad and it's areas like Hi-Tech City etc (don't go to old Hyderabad), Mumbai, Bangalore, Aerocity new delhi (definitely avoid old delhi), Gurugram Specially DLF Cybercity. And cities like Chandigarh, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam or Vizag, Pondicherry and Chennai etc. are quite clean and have Decent infrastructure and safety compared to North India.
@@SaikatSaha-yk1yqThe north is a problem, it's developing rapidly but not at that level. By the late 2020s north India will be what south India is now
It's not right time to visit though cause many roads construction is going on as well as it's raining season there so you might don't have good experience there because there are lot of construction i mean very lot's of construction going on.
The locals who were displaced from their land on whicb Ayodhya cannot even visit the temple because they are lower class. There are videos of it on TH-cam. Channel name - Unfiltered.
India is for an experience not vacation to chill that experiences may include disappointment excitement, life changing trip or even disgust india is a country of paradoxes some like it some dont
Kerala is also a very underrated region to visit in India. I went to Munnar and Kochi this year and the vibe in the south is so much more laidback. You definitely want to avoid southern India during the monsoon season as well though.
I’m still confused as to why he did such a hit-piece on India. I’m not even Indian and I had really enjoyed his early Indian vlogs. Sad he’s turned out to be such a snake. I unsubscribed, not that he cares.
He was in India initially only to milk the Indian audience. I don't think he was being genuine initially. He wanted views and subscribers to grow his channel and what a better place to do that than India. I don't think he liked it then but he had to sugar coat his words to attract Indian audience. That's what most foreign youtubers do in india. Now that he is famous and has 4.3 million subscribers, he doesn't care about Indian audience. So he decided to speak badly about India. Guess what, hate sells faster.

Interesting. My wife is Indian and along with Indian business colleagues residing in the US, I have yet to meet one who has expressed regret at leaving India. Along with the filth and pollution and the incessant noise, the street beggars and hustlers, do you really feel like walking down a road mired with cow dug and spittle?
@@welshieworldwide No one needs to “look for” the filth, noise pollution, scammers, etc in India. They’re all around you, constantly assaulting you from all directions. All the coping and defending is useless.
The Bens generally take the piss out of anyplace they visit. They have vids showing the bad parts of England as well. I find them funny. Gabriel is the Goat of travel vids and has a completely different vibe about him. Apples to Oranges
But there is a difference between criticising your own people & people from different race/culture/country. These things just open platform for people from developed or people of anti India mentality to dehumanise India or Indians to feel superior. which is not true in real world scenario.
I wonder why Gabriel never visit NE India? I've watched many of videos for many years now, he does not seem to care about the NE (that's my feeling).... he did not even mention it in this video.... hmmmm? 🤔
@@arjuna03 I understand the indian caste mentality and lack of a concept of equality, but every coutnry is fair game whether you are from there or not. You indians have no issue acting the way you act and demanding what you demand in the host countries of the US, Canada and UK where you migrate in droves to escape "beautiful" India.
Another important point is there are a lot of Westerners who want luxury at rock bottom :Indian' prices. A room that is available for 100 euros in rural France is probably available for Rs 2000 even in Delhi. So you can't stinge and expect a good time. If a westerner is ready to pay even half the money he pays in Europe then he can live like a Maharaja in India with much better facilities than he can dream off.
He has that ability to do the same with any country. Even if he lived in India for 10 years and explored both good and bad places, but in the videos he only showed the bad and said it's all India, then I can easily say staying only 10 days here and then making a "genuine" video about the experience is worth way more than making it for views!
I'm also going to visit India in late February 2025 to visit the great Hindu monuments from South to North, but took everything into consideration to make my trip as pleasant as possible. Travel only by flights (avoid trains), book the best hotels, I'll also be careful of places where to eat at... Bald & Bankrupt is much richer than I am, so he could have afforded the best of India, yet he chose in his videos to take working class trains and accommodation just for the sake of gaining more views/notoriety.
Do not eat cheap street foods. There are many healthy food options in restaurants and hotels, you just only need to do some research. Don't expect public toilets to be clean in India, so do what you need to do in the hotel. Even if you don't travel with flights, there are good options of trains, you just need to pay good amount of money. I don't know why foreigners are only attracted to those religious monuments in India. These places are the most chaotic and dirty in India. Even as an Indian I don't have any will to visit Delhi because Delhi is the most polluted city, but places like Delhi, Varanasi and Kolkata are foreigners' first choice 😂😂 If you're a nature lover, then there are so many things to see in India.
Trains are good , but he chose sleeper non ac class which is the cheapest. You can get the best train coach( AC 1) at half the price of a flight ticket( probably lesser) and it would be an amazing experience.
Ben and Ben didn't want to have a better trip. They both know better, especially Bald and Bankrupt who has spent years in India and speaks pretty good Hindi. They knew what they were doing. Maybe just call it "poverty porn". Yes, India is like that sometimes and in some places, but that's not the whole story. You can fly in perfect comfort from Delhi to Varanasi in two hours for under a hundred dollars. India is both a very poor country and a very rich one. It is full of contradictions. You either hate India or love it. Maybe both!!
Correct. What you said about Bald is true and he should have known better. But the whole idea was to create controversy and generate views. There was a time when he was not that well known and didn't have many subscribers and he used to talk fondly about his first trip to India and his stay of some years in North India where he worked for some time and learned Hindi.
He saw someone's video about hustlers in Varanasi and went there to film them (hustlers were the point of interest, not the city itself), but was disappointed when he found no one, so he blamed the camera and people became camera-conscious. Begin filming trash in the trains while the attendant was cleaning them. His friend travels to India every year and complains every time, why go there? I mean, this is an honest question.
“Poverty tourism” is its own unique genre on TH-cam. It can be educational to see a little of it as a picture of how some people live, but they often put themselves in those situations on purpose and then make it seem like an entire country is like that. The reality is different people have different standards. Some people wouldn’t like even the best parts of India and that’s okay too. But TH-cam isn’t real life. Ben and Ben are courting a particular type of viewer that feeds off cynicism and negativity. It’s a business model and nothing more
True, very irresponsible vlogging, show the most poor, crowded, old and chaotic area of the city and label the 7th largest country in the world not worth to visit, he became very famous after he did his first videos in India in 2016 , Now his subscribers are 4.15 million, and success has gone to his head.

I appreciate how you very genuinely, kindly, and honestly explained, based on your years of travel, that if you want to experience a country, there are multiple ways to do so to enjoy and experience things in the way one might hope for. I believe that some channels search for the worst, or just genuinely don't know how to travel and experience the outcome they are striving for. I appreciate your knowledge and kindness. I appreciate you Gabriel. The Bens and smallbrained just come off as privileged and dismissive, mocking locals and treating cultural differences like a joke. It’s frustrating how they focus on negative experiences and act like basic travel stuff (like bargaining) is some huge scam. Thank you for keeping it real and showing love and respect for India without trashing it.
I have been following B&B for 4 years. That was not necessarily a typical video. There is usually more history and geography. He is very entertaining and educational. Go back and watch some of his travels through the former Soviet Union.
It was ragebait. Pure and simple. There is a growing anti-India/anti-Indian sentiment in many parts of the West, and he leaned into it. Having said that he is entitled to his views and, more importantly, genuine (good faith) criticisms of any country are always appreciated as they can act as a mirror. In his case, as many have mentioned, he was all too familiar with the country to be expressing shock. I had stopped following him a while ago (when he got kicked out of Russia), and haven't been particularly interested in his videos since. The video in question just popped up on my feed so I gave it a quick watch and ultimately forgot about. What I have realised is that there are genuine travellers (Like Gabe), and then there are clout chasers and clickbait producers. Bald has always been in the second category. Even when he started making videos (with the India series), he was clearly pandering to the Indian audience - which, frankly, was nauseating since the start. There was nothing authentic about that entire series. The only videos of his that I genuinely enjoyed were all in the Ex-Soviet countries (I think he genuinely has a passion for that part of the world, and it showed). Just my two cents. Edit: The only good part of his video (as it was intended and delivered) is that it will further detract a specific type of traveller from visiting India. For those in the know about the type of company he keeps and the types of things he has been accused of doing in the past, this can only be a good thing.

Lord miles a TH-camr recently said racist things after visiting india making fun and saying he would love to nuke indians etc and he is one of the best buddy of bald, lord took help of barry (a twitter troll specially troll indians ) and then indians trolled back lord miles so after that bald decided to be real bald this time and deliberately wanted to take revenge for his buddy. He could have done the same by going to parts of UK like Birmingham, Bradford etc but his hatred for india made him do that.. He was just paying his hommie a tribute. Never fall in love with brits (most of them still live in that colonial stereotypes)
they think they are superior no offence but they are one of the least productive people on the planet nowhere in manufacturing, space and AI ; they used to be good
Brits still have the superior attitude, but no one wants to work with them including mainland Europe. They have been reduced to the whores that they are and lap dogs of USA 🇺🇸
This is very accurate. But also be aware that many groups of people including other non-whites are eager to gang up or simply badmouth India for various reasons. Sometimes it's "dirt". Or just brown skin. I've come across Iraqi's & Syrians who claim they are much happier in a bombed out nation with massive deaths at the hands of whites, than India, a soon to be 4th and then 3rd largest economy. Though it's old technology we do have bullet trains ahead of the US, UK, Australia and Canada. And great food delivered in minutes. He got the fame cause of india got popular earned money now showing his true nature like most of the British people who still living in the colonial delusion.
I find Bald's vlogs really funny. Like many I was first introduced to him via the India videos years ago. I think all astute people know that views = money in social media and it does seem his last India video was more on the triggery-rage baiting side of things and it worked, he got millions of views and income out of it. However, as someone who loves India and still wants to visit one day (I'm from Iran), I think we should take a good look at our countries problems and try to work on them. Sometimes maybe we can't see something is wrong because we are right in the middle of it, but when an outsider comes, it's like it magnified the problem immediately. Iran, India, England, we all have problems and many things we can work on. Maybe Delhi or Bombai may seem crazy and chaotic and noisy but I'm sure at least I can walk down the streets of India morning or night and not get mugged, stabbed, etc. Sure every country should work on things like hygiene, noise pollution, air pollution, etc, but the western countries major capital cities like London, Paris and NY are far more dangerous and risky than India imo. I'll take the possibility of getting food poisoning over the possibility of being stabbed for my watch. We can all improve. Just look at my home country, run by a bunch of backwards evil mullahs who kill children for showing hair. On the grand scale of things, India is amazing and I hope it only gets stronger and better going forward. Jai Hind

My fellow indians know that we have hygenie, cleanliness thrash problem then why we wont try to solve the problems.. itsour duty to make our country better
Don’t go to India if you want to enjoy yourself in the conventional sense. But if you want to go someplace that is deeply interesting, beautiful, disturbing, charming, infuriating, then India is a must. You can run through those sensations in the span of a ten minute stroll. But the people are super friendly and welcoming. Scammers are abundant, but easy enough to deal with once you catch on.
I dont think you have to give bald tips how to have a better time in India because I'm pretty sure he actually lived there for a while and he knows India well. His video was made in bad faith, so giving him tips isnt gonna change anything. He isn't a rookie, he knows what he is doing, including with that video. There is a lot of controversy surrounding him anyway, regarding his past and why he traveled to east europe in the first place, he also made some insane comments throughout the years (mainly on his IG stories) the guy clearly has issues. Im pretty sure im also blocked fom his comment section, so as someone who thinks free speech is important, he sure loves to block people who go against him lol

He has that ability to do the same with any country. Even if he lived in India for 10 years and explored both good and bad places, but in the videos he only showed the bad and said it's all India, then I can easily say staying only 10 days here and then making a "genuine" video about the experience is worth way more than making it for views!
I am pretty sure wanted to see your version of tourism insights with a positive mindset and enjoy wherever you are. I love both bnb's videos. He for sure has a unique way of explaining things. I can understand his view as well.
As an experienced India traveler, I agree with you. I would be the first, just like many of my Indian friends, to admit that India has many problems. But which place doesn't? That tirade is surprising coming from Ben who has lived for some years in India (Rajasthan). As one of my Indian friends remarked about Ben, he used a Hindi saying, which roughly translates to "It's like shitting in the same plate you ate from!" So it was Ben finding the worst of India on purpose. Well, I can do the same in London or New York or Geneva or Oslo if I want to!
@@puzzled012 Sorry to break your bubble of ignorance, but yes, I have seen street gangs of boys peeing under a bridge in a suburb of Oslo called Majorstuen. There are areas of Geneva which are filled with filth in the back alleys. New york and London, I guess, I don't even have to say it.
@@joelaugustus5812 Like I said, I would be the first to accept those problems. Not in denial. Sure the scale of problems is larger in India, but I think the situation is improving. Give it another generation. India is slowly rising from it's colonial looting.
I agree with going to the smaller towns. Places like Bundi, Mandu, Orchha have exceptional history and are really enjoyable to walk around it. However for me places like Kolkata also have a great deal of the magic of India. How all those people manage to go about their day, the chaos, the humanity.
Great video. Great response. India isn't for beginners, or people without patience. But if you give India time, it will open up and give you an incredible experience every time. You just have to be willing to be a little uncomfortable at first.

It's interesting. I saw Bald's video, but I also heard Rick Steves say his journies to India changed his life and perspective on humanity. I guess if you want to find the ugly side of anything you can find it, but also that you have to deal with reality and not just the places that are transcendent.

Was very disappointed by B&B's coverage of India which I thought was deliberately biased to show the worst parts of India. It would be like me going to a city in the US and showing all the ghettos (for example Skid Row in Los Angeles) and trying to portray that all of the country is this way. Places like Delhi actually have some very "posh" and upscale areas which are very clean and modern, why didn't he go and film there? I think Ben and Ben shouldn't ever go to Beloved Mother India again ! Mother India is a beautiful full experience and she will definitely Not miss them.
I travelled India for 3 months - it was one the greatest and weirdly worse experiences of my life. The good side is the diversity of culture, incredible history and meeting some great people. The bad is that it's incredibly stressful - you have to keep your guard up a lot. The cities are very dirty and polluted. Many people see you as a walking ATM and will try anything to get cash from you. I am a well seasoned traveller but my friend and I were threatened, pickpocketed (we caught them) and let down a lot. Still, I look back fondly on many great memories from my travels, but I honesty don't think I'd ever go back. I would still encourage people to travel there but would try and prepare them for the challenges.
Depends on the region of India. If you want a stress free tranquil experience visit the north-eastern states that comprises of Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura
Bald had been to india several times and he understands very well what he is getting into. Yes india has got its fair share of problems but still it certainly offers one of the most beautiful regions. Like gab mentioned, get out of those metropolitan cities and you will find countless regions which are among the most beautiful places. Thank you gab for talking about it. You are most welcome to india. See you ❤
I've only watched a few Bald and Bankrupt videos and didn't care for his style at all. One episode I watched he had trespassed onto the property of a private resort and because security told him to leave, he then asked his viewers to write bad reviews about the place. He should have been thankful they didn't call the police on him.
Thanks Gabriel, you have summarized India perfectly. Agree 100% to get out of Indian cities for a more enjoyable experience. Again, if truth be told about any country, nobody likes it if its the ugly side. Mr. Bald and Ben have been mere messengers here and good ones at that.
Hi Gabe: Very sensible points you have made regarding tips for visiting India. It is genuine travelers like you who give us a good idea of any country , warts and all.
It's probably true B&B's video was made on purpose to get more views, but as some other travel youtuber had mentioned, people's views about traveling in India are often polarized. If Indian people can face the problems shown in that video and push the govenments to solve them, it will be truly beneficial for Indian people.
Yes. India can be extremely frustrating, dirty, and difficult. However it is one of the most interesting places on earth. As an American from a small town in the Midwest, it felt other-worldly when I went. It’s an epic place to travel if you are adventurous. I spent a month there and it was unforgettable. I love Bald but he failed to mention that he’s spent years of his life in India. He obviously was able to see the magic of India a few years ago.
India is about one-fifth humanity and has mind-boggling diversity - so one can find simultaneously all kinds of people and stuff in large enough numbers as evidence to prove almost any hypothesis about India - including totally contradictory ones - with certain statistical significance. Hence, such claims matter little in terms of the real big picture that only India has to offer. Try to shrug off and move on.
Rick Steves, the OG of travel advice, writing, tours etc, for Europe, recently reiterated that India is his favorite country to visit. I remember reading that in an interview with him many years ago, and it was interesting to hear that's still the case for him. But he also basically says it's not for everyone, and that YMMV. You do have to know what you're getting into with a trip to India.
when i went to India i just accepted it for what it is & didn't get all upset about it. I find once you start to react against the negatives, you will soon find you are surrounded by a whole lot more of them. It is a place to adapt to & in some instances to work around those conditions or limitations. In one day there you can get both the highest of highs & lowest of lows

Indian people seem nice and polite, but many get very triggered and nationalistic very easily. The UK is criticised constantly but British mostly let it slide. Bald is winding you up India 😂 Chill out
The British cannot tolerate even the slightest criticism from foreigners especially brown skinned ones. Try it on The Guardian. Or real life, if you're dark.
I used to love Ben when he came to India 3-4 years ago. I used to watch his video all the time during lockdown. He had visited the north-eastern states of India and Southern India. I was really in awe of those videos, they were just so cheerful and unique, nothing like that was on youtube even by any Indian creator. I'm not even kidding I got to see many things about India, about northeast and south that I never knew before I saw Ben's videos. That time he had around 20K subs. I stopped seeing much of yt these years and when I returned again to his channel and saw his recent video on India. I was shocked because of these things - first he did the mistake of visiting the places in Delhi that are known to scam people ! I myself living in India and visiting Delhi several times avoid these place. The second thing, he took third class train. Well one thing you should know about India is that if you want the best food in the world, you'll get it and if you want to eat shit, you'll get that to, and you'll get them both next to each other, just like that street food guy they both were chasing in Kolkata. Well ig it is safe to assume that Bald (yeah that's what I call my dude) and Ben are not earning 600$ annually, so by taking a third class ticket you are putting yourself in that place. You could have taken a flight, a decent volvo bus, a first class AC ticket but they chose the worst option of all for some reason. And the third reason for me is the most heartbreaking of all. Ben seems to have removed all those beautiful videos that he made in northeast and south India 3-4 years ago. Those videos were the very reason I returned to check out his channel today but seeing this really gave me a heartbreak. I wish he brings those videos back on his channel.
You summed it up quite well!

Totally agree Gabriel India is more complex than what Bald and Bankrupt showed

But there are nicest places as well as dull places too.
He (Bald/Ben) ought not to generalise an issue.

If I was a vlogger, I would have been more critical bcz most cities are way more worse than what he showed. The 1% of places you mentioned is not true india. And yes every country has problems but that doesn't make them equal in level, india has problems, Somalia has problems, japan has problems but that doesn't mean they are equal😂😂
I regularly go to India and do not have this negative experience at all, I enjoy the country very much!
It seemed to me that both Bens had already made up their mind to slam India for whatever reason and they tried to find the material to fulfill their vendetta.
India is hell 95% of its places.
Of course there are nice areas in India, but what is the experience for the majority of its people?
@@DeputyDog-mh1yo Majority of the people earn about $3000 yearly. They get according to what they can spend, but as a western citizen their purchasing power is way better, they could easily affoard the nice offerings
@@SamX-dc6mq then why is there such an over abundance of squalor?
@@DeputyDog-mh1yo That is a complex behavioural issue due to traumatic experience of coloniality.
Sorry mate whatever you faced in India 👍🏻
Visit better places like Goa , Rishikesh ( beatles stayed there ) Sikkim & not shithole places
Challenges? You mean raping?
Come to the Northeast-India(consists of 8 states), no one will see you as a walking ATM.
See you ❤
Ben & Ben knew what they were doing. It served their intended purpose-views, engagement and traction to their channels.
I've only watched a few Bald and Bankrupt videos and didn't care for his style at all. One episode I watched he had trespassed onto the property of a private resort and because security told him to leave, he then asked his viewers to write bad reviews about the place. He should have been thankful they didn't call the police on him.
I watch herald... He is much more honest. ..
You are a British person.
It's not about the people, we gotta admit there is a lack of responsibility in both people and the government to keep the country well and clean.
@@jatinshilencleanliness is not everything about a country
Rick Steves, the OG of travel advice, writing, tours etc, for Europe, recently reiterated that India is his favorite country to visit. I remember reading that in an interview with him many years ago, and it was interesting to hear that's still the case for him. But he also basically says it's not for everyone, and that YMMV. You do have to know what you're getting into with a trip to India.

We will be there soon, really appreciate your perspective
when i went to India i just accepted it for what it is & didn't get all upset about it. I find once you start to react against the negatives, you will soon find you are surrounded by a whole lot more of them. It is a place to adapt to & in some instances to work around those conditions or limitations. In one day there you can get both the highest of highs & lowest of lows
Exactly, well said.
He did it for the views
Bald lived in Northern India many years thats where his youtube channel started.
@@aaap3875He has that ability to do the same with any country. Even if he lived in India for 10 years and explored both good and bad places, but in the videos he only showed the bad and said it's all India, then I can easily say staying only 10 days here and then making a "genuine" video about the experience is worth way more than making it for views!

Been watching your vlogs for years on and off, particularly remember the ones in Gokarna and your bus travels from there to smaller towns and of course Rishikesh and Gangtok in Sikkim.

For me the most comprehensive. The snowy Himalayas, Goa beaches, Thar desert, Ghat forest, NE wetlands, Gange swamps, Delhi the city of night lights, Bombay city of bright condos. All the Asian mammals and big cats from tigers, lions, panthers, leopards, snow and clouded, cheetahs this year. The flag looks like nature sunset/cloud/greenery. Our national symbols are iconic tiger, cobra, peacock, lotus, mangoes, dolphin, lndian roller, flamingos, lndian doves, ringnecks, lndian paradise flycatcher are state birds and various colors. Red represents a blood bond. Saffron color represents rawest earth soil. Every spice has meaning, for example turmeric, jasmine for perfume, basil on everything. Holy water from top to bottom, source of milk, sacred trees. The oldest reIigions, languages, every state culture is unique and comprehensive, the most colorful and festive because our philosophies believe in all gods, rooted with nature and science, remained the steadiest because our philosophies teach quaIity over quantity.

well I agree with most point of Bald and Bankrupt as an Indian myself , but still I want to say India is diverse , India can't be judged by just seeing Delhi , India boast diverse culture some of which you may not like but , India in itself a continent we have mountains , we have beaches , we have deserts , we have every landscape packed in one country , there are dirty and annoying places also but at the same time there are natual and clean places also, we have lots of poor people but still millions of people are rich also they have great taste of luxary , we have chaotic and crowded places but we also have serene and calm places , you can't judge India so easily , It will take time to understand India as a whole .
