I found that the slimmest 510 batteries have a 2 volt minimum. A little hack is the preheat function in a lot of batteries these days applies a 1.3-1.7 volt current to the tip. You slowly watch your dab slip into the chamber (without getting any wax inside one of the air inlets for the chamber, which you get by scraping a tool over the edge of the chamber). Works best for fresh press rosin or any concentrate with a high viscosity. Get on tip and place tip touching center of chamber. Hit 2 volts or just pulse your battery until it slides off the tip intonthe chamber. The strength and momentum of the mass on the tip once friction reduces, the adhesive properties of liquids will pull most if not essentially all but a thin film on the tip. Not holding down the button is the key to any device. Tiny pulses, tip-to-chamber contact and you will lose about as much terps as when the hash was pressed on heated plates.
Read my reply under crewpins, please. - it’s all about voltage and all batteries are too high to start with. i use a metal dab tool as my daily driver, my go to is hot dabs on my stationary rig. But when traveling and using a portable tab rig, where you need to get that dab in the middle of the coil bucket without making a mess to cold start it? THAT'S WHERE THIS DEVICE IS A GOD SEND! It allows for precision release of the concentrates (some more gloppy than others), yes some gets stuck on there that you have to wipe off on an alcohol swab, but its still worth it.
I haven't experienced much "waste" when using the hot knife. I travel a lot and use it with my puffco and being able to cap it when your done is convenient. You don't have to worry about sticky mess or using your fingers to get your dab into the chamber
Yeah, and I don't really get his point for cold starts. Like on a hot start you use the heat of the banger to melt it off the tool, you can't do that on a cold start and the hot knife is the perfect solution to that imo
Hey just a little tip with the puffco hot knife, if you hold it against the bottom of the peak's bowl most of the excess concentrate will drip off along with your glob. If you just hold it above like their advertisements, you get the leftover concentrate all over the tool. Give it another try and after you drop off the glob, hold the tip to the bottom of the bowl and the remaining wax will literally melt off the tip into the bowl. It's not perfect, but it's better than wiping it off with a paper towel or something.
@@hardslaps not so. The "glob" would already be in the chamber. With the tip action, your just slightly pressing. Unlike the reg dab tool where you buring the wax between the tool and chamber and there's Hella left over on the tool of doing that.
@@hardslaps nah dude, I’m specifically talking cold starts here. Good luck getting concentrate off a dab tool without heat or wiping it on the walls of the banger.
With the hot knife After the dab falls in the chamber I just barely tap the tip of knife and the rest comes off. using badder with a regular dab tool is a nightmare
I agree 100% with @naes412 . Touching the bottom and then a light tap and the end gives me almost zero waste. I feel like Cewpins needs to do a little more research on these uses before putting out a video like this? I’m new to the 420 thing and I guess I got lucky with my touch/tap technique. But videos like this would have kept me, and I assume other, from getting a dope hot knife, and I love mine! I waste so much less wax with it and it so much easier to clean.
I absolutely love my heated tool, I never waste any product with it aside from maybe a tiny bit of residue left on the tip, but any actual leftover material gets rubbed off onto the pearl. It's also great for travel so you don't have a sticky dab tool laying around. And it's really the only thing I can use with really sticky or wet, saucy concentrates. With my regular tool they just stick to it and no amount of rubbing it inside my E-rig gets it all off. With a heated one there might be 3-5% left on the tool afterwards. I got one from Source vape for like $15, didn't see any point in paying over 3x more for a Puffco brand one. Plus the Source tip is removable and can be attached to any 510 battery and there are multiple tip options. With the Puffco hot knife you're stuck with what you get so if it breaks you're outta luck. If mine breaks I either just get a new battery for it or if the tip is broken I just replace the tip myself for like $5-10.
Normally agree with your points but not here. Yeah, holding the button and getting it as hot as possible is going to burn some, but you dont need it to be as hot as possble for the dabs to come off, just a little bit of heat goes a long way here. Also, when you drop a glob, you should heat it up a bit more and touch the tip against the glob in your chamber and all the residue on the sides will slip right down on the glob, which means if you just use it like a regular dab tool you dont have this issue, which does kinda suck considering its marketed as hit a button and it drops in simple. As someone who dabs all day, these things are an absolute must have and will definitely save you from a few headaches from fumbling around with your wax.
Agreed and especially if you press your own wax maybe 5 or 10% of strains press messy hard to scrape wax that uve given up on getting the last 10% off the wax paper and thrown away multiple times the hotknife lets me scrape all that mess up and neatly drop it in my mason jar for storage plus makes using it out the jar easy.
@@lizardjoel definitely. Countless times id have dabs stuck to the side of a glass or something and its a nightmare to get all of it up, hotknife blows straight through it.
The hot tips work nicely for rosin. When it is like taffy, the tool works great. Just buy the tips, and screw them onto a battery. They only cost about $15 each.
@@LysergiaLand-L-25 lighter gives off soot and can most definitely degrade the quality of terps. Hot knife is easier for temp control and requires less technique compared to a lighter.
I agree mostly w you but I think you’re exaggerating pretty heavily on the puffco hot knife (idk about those other ones) but I have a puffco hot knife, and mine works as intended. Pretty much melts the whole dab off, if anything gets left on mine it’s not enough to complain about. Definitely unnecessary but I find it in combination w the puffco peak pro, peak smoking experience. Dab drops right in the chamber where I want it rather than having to play w the dab on a normal tool, push it off w my fingers, scrape it on the sides, etc…. Like I said, mostly agree, and they are completely unneeded tools. But puffco’s device works quite well regardless, at least in my experience.
Well said. A little pricey but got one when they came out and haven’t looked back. Personally like having my dab in the puffco when I heat it up instead of having to wait for the heat to melt it off with rosin.
The saber from Focus is probably the best ive used. It has a variable voltage battery, reversable/interchangeable tips, and a flashlight. Definitely better than using the puffco and miles ahead a basic tool. But when you're heating any hot knife just rest it for a second on the side or bottom of atomizer and everything comes off. Pretty preferential video lol 😂
The puffco hotknife is amazing for rosin man it scoops and holds the fresh pressed rosin off the wax paper and into your container with damn near 0 waste vs stainless or titanium tools that always left 5 or so % on the paper. Plus if you gently tap the bowl bottom with the wax or tip of tool barely any of the dab is wasted maaaybe 2 to 5% and that just adds to the next dab I load. I use that and a titanium toothpick and can get any type of wax off my jars. I also store all my rosin in mini glass mason jars so the sides over time get covered in near invisible wax the hot knife lets me scrape the sides near 100% clear and load the "free" bonus rosin in my bowls fast.
Thank you this is an intelligent comment. Tapping the tip of tool onto the bowl surface to transfer that last little drop is crucial. Works perfectly too.
This tool could be better than a regular dab tool if you use both the same. press it against the chamber to get the last drop. You usually leave the tool in there a sec and swipe it up or to the side to get most of the concentrate off. Should be quicker and more efficient because the hotter the tool the faster the wax comes off.
I got a sweet glass pendant from a guy on the street while I was in college, wrapped it with stainless steel wire and have used it as my dab tool for over a dozen years.
Nah man, the puffco hot knife has made dabbing so easy with the puffco, I'd waste so much rosin and resin with the traditional pick, when I'm stoned it's a world of difference to me to be able to just hit a button. Got mine for around $40 so it was worth it to me and the charge lasts a long time.
I have the one from Dr. Dabber which I use with the Carta 2 and I love it. If you use a regular tool and try to scrape it into the chamber you get concentrate in the slits in the bowl or around the sides of the bowl. I want a nice glob at the bottom which is hard to do without the tool.
Hot knifes are only good for the puffco proxy/peak pro and only for flower/sappy rosin. If you hold the actual tip against the puffco chamber it will run off completely into the chamber without ever need to produce vapor. I did have this problem when I first started using the puffco peak pro but after adjusting to holding it directly against the chamber it all comes off every time without needing to waste any concentrate.
I use the Puffco Hot Dabber, and I like it. not much really wasted when you take a larger glob, and the point about burning the Terps is kinda not even a point because it's not like your burning a large amount of the dab anyway just don't hold the button the whole time and it will work just fine.
I think this is possibly user error? I got the Ooze one recently and it was only $6...I had zero expectations. I LOVE it. I get a rice grain sized dab on it, can be sticky sugar, badder, live resin, etc. I hold it over the atomizer with the blade vertical so gravity is acting upon the dab to slide it down the length and towards the more pointy side of the blade, and press the button on the lowest setting and to my shock, the entire thing slides off and leaves the blade immaculate. Like immaculate. I waste so much more wax when things don't go as planned with a regular dab tool and next thing I know the side of the atomizer is getting coated in wax that will just get wasted. I admit, sometimes there's a drop of melted oil stuck to it but it's so little. The hot knife has a cover too that goes over it without disturbing the tip, so unlike the manicure dab tools we all know that get set down and then instantly covered in hair and dust isn't an issue. Then that little drop that does remain just gets combined with the next dab I scoop. No waste and so easy to deal with. It also sounds a little like you psychologically set yourself up to not like these before really giving them a fair shot? Saying you already knew you weren't going to like the dab and you didn't. Hot knives aren't for everyone and I respect you as always cewpins but I gotta respectfully disagree, I love mine and have zero plans to use anything else anytime soon.
See her aint consider us using e rigs, vapor cups, even wax pens and vapes. I lose more having to scrape my shit on the side of my atomizer or off with a fingernail
Funnily enough, this video convinced me to buy one... 😀 I used to do that with a needle and a lighter many years ago, letting it slide off the needle... 0:35 I couldn't agree more, I'm the exact same way! - That's why I think the hot knife will be the best way... If you touch the pointy end to the floor of the bowl, it should almost completely flow off... Anything that doesn't, just stays there and the next time it just repeats... So really, you only lost a microscopic amount on the very FIRST dab, not on every single one. The needle worked the same way, it just dripped off, rather than having to touch the floor so it flows off instead... Just ordered the desert one, looked a little more interesting than the black one, harder to loose track off... ;-)
Use what works for you. I use the puffco hot knife with my puffco and rosin, and I love it, but I don't think I'd use it with a banger. I don't see the problems you describe at all, makes dealing with rosins so much easier.
I just learned that these exist, and I like the idea. I have trouble getting some dabs into the pot on my erigs. When I use a banger it isn't a problem since I can just shove the whole tool in there. But when I need to load a bucket on a rig, I always end up making a mess or just finding it impossible unless I use crumble or a torch.
These have been around for a minute, the dab pen battery predates all of it. They used to use those pen batteries with that 510 thread for soldering irons, the “old shatter slicer” was just a rebrand iron for smokers
I use mine all the time. It's epic cause u can heat the tip off and wipe whatever is left back into the container. The puffco one is trash because u can't turn it off and it'd pricey. U can get a ooze knife tip for 15 and throw it on any battery u have with a 510 thread. It's also AMAZING for loading dab vapes or stuff like the puffco. It's worth it in my opinion but it 100% depends on the setup
I honestly think hot knifes are the best for puffco or any electronic device where you cant really scrape against the the edge with risk of cloging the holes. I think regular metal dab tools are best for regular butane/glass regular dabbing. Atleast for me I swear by the hot knife specifically for the puffco. I havent had much waste at all
I’ve got a plastic cutting knife tool. It has a heat base like a soldering iron. Cord to a soldering iron type thing only it’s a pencil shape with a thin blade. Temperature level on a dial. Used for cutting through plastic toys to cut them apart for inspecting the inside. I use it sometimes but I’m with you. Waste is Bad.
I could see these being great for dropping wax down into a pocket vape rig like the things from yocan because sometimes when i try to drop some wax on the coil i will have to use a lighter to melt it down if it is too sticky.
I still use my original dab tool that I found laying around my house the day I ever started dabbing. It is one of those pecan shelling tool you use as a pick.
This is some of the best dab-related content I've seen on TH-cam. Good audio, editing, production. Love your chill delivery, even when you're complaining it's super chill. I could listen to you all day, you're like Seinfeld for dabbing. 😀 Oh and the Mitch Hedburg reference just put it over the top for me. 👍👍
When I was growing up a hot knife was when you got 2 knives and heated them red hot with either a stove or a torch, then you’d press them against a ball of weed and inhale.
"This one's got sea shells in it, got a little sword, got a little pencil" Building the arsenal brick by brick. WE WILL DESTROY! Fuck that made me laugh so hard
I just learned about heated dab tools so it's nice to have also just learned that they aren't worth buying. Love the vids and streams bro. Keep up the great work!
think for yourself buddy. If you like them, continue using them. I personally don't use them, but I assume they are used to save on butane? Might look into one to see if they are worth it or not.
Don’t let someone who thinks he knows it all tell you what’s good and not good. Everyone has their own personal opinion on everything. Don’t take cewpins advice as FACTS.
@@HippieJoe yeah I mean I have a puffco hotknife and its just cuz it makes it easier to work with some consistencies. Personally love it. But that’s just me🤷🏽♂️
i smoke mainly diamonds and the puffco hot knife is very helpful, i’ve notice very little residue left on it. my only problem with it is when you don’t clean it properly the cap will stick on and be a struggle to come off
I bought a hot knife recently. My immediate takeaway is that the badder I’m getting can be rolled into balls by hand so it’s redundant. But also if you don’t put enough on the knife then it won’t bead off. Wouldn’t rebuy.
I absolutely love my hot knife. I cold start all of my dabs and a lot of the time, the waste on the heated knife is significantly less than what sticks on the end of any other dab tool. I fucking love it
I have a tool for cutting through plastic. Fairly thick plastic. I Used to co-op at Kenner Toys in college. Kenner Toys who made Play-Doh and Star Wars stuff give or gave a lifetime guarantee on All their toys. Which sounds nuts and most people don’t know. My job there was to take electronic toys that were sent back and see what broke about them. This plastic cutting knife thing was one of the tools for taking toys apart. It’s a skinny knife on a cord that runs to the base station kinda thing where you can crank up the temperature of the knife to crazy hot. I’ve had this thing for forty years. I bought a Puffco and saw these dab droppers and remembered I had this thing. I can dial the temp to whatever I want. The dab drops off the knife and I agree there is some waste. I’ve looked for this plastic cutter online but haven’t seen any. It’s made by Precision Instruments but they don’t seem to exist anymore.
Crazy trick, but to reduce the amount of burn on the hot knife, put your cold dab on the side wall, heat up the tool and lift the tool off, and dassit. 👏 Minimal waste, the heat only slides off the surface of your dab. I usually stick it to my terp pearl and just tap the button to slide it off the wad. Edit: Damn this is the tip for days of the comment section lol. 😂whoops
I have the Puffco hot knife. It’s great for rosin/resin/sauce but anything else a dab tool is just as good usually. The waste I just scrape on to a piece of wax paper or a old concentrate container until I have enough to scrape up a dab and restart. Love your content bro🙌🏼
I have to agree with you, I’ve even used tooth picks for dab tools before if i forget mine and it works just as well if not better than a heated dab tool 😂
I only like it for my puffco, because it stops me from getting wax into the airflow holes on the chamber and wasting wax that way. For bangers I’ll just melt it off my tool
i love my 3grams melt tip.. they are like a $20 knockoff but you can put it on any 510 battery. it is CLUTCH!! i basically only use an e-rig and cold start.. so it works amazing for me.. i couldn't go without it!
As a beginner my hot knife came with my og peak for free and I definitely felt like my knife was smoking my dabs before i did lol. But if you are able to get a hot knife on sale or for free with a puffco I say its worth it, my favorite way of using my hot knife is simply using it like a normal tool. I do this by not pressing the button and using less pressure when i sccop my ros and gently rubbing on the walls of my peak until it drops off and then I wipe off any excess back into my containers, I do all this while the knife and peak are cold
I experience "waste" with my normal titanium dab tools, I just use my dab straw to clean off the excess. That's actually pretty much all I use my dab straw for anymore.
For the price checkout the arizer products. I've been vaping them exclusively for about 10 years. The solo 2 is a beast and pretty portable for only about $120. Or the air if you prefer to be able to swap batteries. It's less convenient but if you have a few batteries you'll never have to wait for a charge.
I have pretty good luck dropping my dab off into the bowl then while the knife is hot still rub both sides gently along the terp pearl(s) and it usually comes off pretty well. Although I just can’t get passed the amount that burns off over time. If you burn off 10 % of every hit then every 10 hits you’re wasting a whole hit. Idk. I’m on the fence about these tools. I have a few different kinds. I have a real thin stainless steel one even. But my favorite is probably the skunk labs hot knife I really love the fact that I can put the glass cap over it and throw it wherever without the mess. Also if you have an empty silicone dabtainer then every time you drop off your dab from the tool just barely heat up the rest and gently scrape it into the empty dabtainer. That’s what I do
I've never dabbed. In high school (90s)we smoked hash hot knives. 2 butter knives and a torch or the stove elements. tap a small piece of hash and sandwich it with another hot knife then inhale, dabbing sounds similar.
I got the Boundless dab pen XL over a year ago and it's still going strong. It was my first time using something other than that crack pipe looking nectar collector. I like it, I can get 10-15 hits from what I'd put in the banger.
The best way to vape concentrates imo, it's more expensive mind you, the dry herb vapes like arizer or mighty, mix oil or shatter or wtv with weed and vape it like that, super sweet and very efficient
Love the vid but I've been loving the fuck out of my ooze knife I don't really see any waste but I only see it useful for Erigs to help keep them clean or for hard shatter like fresh press. I like em for slurpers to, it's easy to get everything in in the dish and all the residue gets vaped
You're saying so many things that I have said. Magnet thing actually sucks for what you mentioned, and because it gets sticky near the tip part connection and so the magnet sucks no matter how hard you wash it.
Medium sized sewing needle and a chop stick cut however long you like. Drill a little hole in the end or the chopstick tiny bit of glue shove the needle in the hole let dry. Won’t bend like that thing. Want a scooper just hit it with a hammer. That’s the simple way but I like to make homemade handle from wood I find. Just heat it with the torch for a second to clean. No waste there’s nothing to stick to. 😊
very good point, anyone that actually would want/need this would be an on-the-go dabber more than a stationary or at home dabber. hot knives are simply for speedy and hopefully mess free dabbing when you don't have a good space and there is a price to pay for that luxury. clean your nails and happy trails :)
Just bought a focus V Saber thinking it was some kind of nectar collector just to find out it’s a hot knife. Nice. Could’ve just bought a new atomizer for my e-rig.
Your Mitch Hedberg reference got me to subscribe. I've watched some of your videos in the past when I was researching things like the Puffco Peak and Plus, but I was not subbed. Until that reference, lmao.
Pro tip, if you just put your rosin at the tip of the hot knife everytime you scoop and if it’s just barely on the you probably get the same waste as a normal dab tool just saying
I use stainless steel dab tools, the cheapest surgical steel ones I can find, and if concentrate is stuck to it I heat the metal briefly with a jet-lighter and the concentrate just slides off. I already spend far too much of my life farting about with charging cables to be bothered with a $100 device whose functionality I can match for $10..
If it really gooey I just wrap it up on the tip of a big safety pin then heat up the pin by holding the flame of my lighter to it until the pin warms up and the dab slides into the chamber.
Just got my puffco hot knife recently. Only used it once upto now. Did notice a fair bit left on the tip of the tool that I had to clean with iso tip. Seen a couple of comments saying to hold it against the bottom of the bowl, so gonna try that 🙏🏻💎💭💭💭
Quick question bro..... got a small box mod (uni pro) and many vape mods (18650s) . Do They sell an atomizer to turn it into a dab mod as apposed to just vaping a cart? And if so are they worth getting and which one? I don't have a dab rig setup .... cuz I got kids, don't need torches to smoke my weed kinda thing and glass pipes all over the place...ya know? Thanks in advance for getting back to me on this one.
Shatter is about the only concentrate that I don't use a dab tool for and the hot knife makes dabbing anything gooey a much easier process and it definitely does not leave a huge amount of your dab on the tool. Trying to smear it on the side of the chamber seems senseless to me.
You're tripping! I have the Puffco hot knife and there is no waste! I loved mine from the first time using it seeing everything I scooped up fall off into the bowl!
"You gotta charge them, what do you do if it dies?" If it dies, then charge it. Charging it isn't that big of a deal, just toss it on the charger when you're done with it. Even if for some reason you can't wait to charge it before you dab I don't see the downside, it still works as a dab tool, but you can't charge a regular dab tool and make it a hot knife. How is it still getting the job done just as easy as a normal tool when its dead a bad thing?

Agreed and especially if you press your own wax maybe 5 or 10% of strains press messy hard to scrape wax that uve given up on getting the last 10% off the wax paper and thrown away multiple times the hotknife lets me scrape all that mess up and neatly drop it in my mason jar for storage plus makes using it out the jar easy.
@@lizardjoel definitely. Countless times id have dabs stuck to the side of a glass or something and its a nightmare to get all of it up, hotknife blows straight through it.
I like my hot knife for freeing my rubies after I forget to clean out my banger.

The hot tips work nicely for rosin. When it is like taffy, the tool works great. Just buy the tips, and screw them onto a battery. They only cost about $15 each.

@@Bigdabkingmy ooze tip came broken and ooze ghosted my emails 💔
I use one mostly for the cap. Only dab tool I've found with a cap, so I can just toss it in my bag or pocket since I travel with my puffco a lot.
100% burning off terps though
The “waste” you can just wipe on a joint paper. Works like a charm.
This seems like the only use you could get out of it, it isn’t easy coating a paper with concentrate since it hardens quick
@@Demi.d3mi that’s why you press the button to heat up the residue and it wipes away perfect 👍
Oh shit you could probably use it to seal a j instead of licking
@@Demi.d3mi or you can just use a lighter to melt the dab onto the nail or coil. Problem solved no waste.
Puffcos going to shit me and my friend got one both broke within a month got a cheep 510 top for a battery been going strong for awhile now
Only been using my puffco knife for a week but it’s been great stays clean and it always drops it in the peak perfectly
What do you think now?
Yeah it’s been a year don’t keep us waiting
I'll have to pick one up once I start pressing more sounds like a great tool to have around.
Thank you this is an intelligent comment. Tapping the tip of tool onto the bowl surface to transfer that last little drop is crucial. Works perfectly too.

Great minds think alike 💯👍
Just str8 facts, i love mine i use it 24/7.
This tool could be better than a regular dab tool if you use both the same. press it against the chamber to get the last drop. You usually leave the tool in there a sec and swipe it up or to the side to get most of the concentrate off. Should be quicker and more efficient because the hotter the tool the faster the wax comes off.
5:45 : everytime I leave the urinal.
Im surprised I had to scroll so far for this. This is exactly how I use it. I was wasting so much more without my hot knife.
Just ordered the desert one, looked a little more interesting than the black one, harder to loose track off... ;-)
Before i got hot knife my life was miserable
Nah fr especially for a puffco
Use what works for you. I use the puffco hot knife with my puffco and rosin, and I love it, but I don't think I'd use it with a banger. I don't see the problems you describe at all, makes dealing with rosins so much easier.
A bad carpenter will always blame the tools.
I havent had much waste at all
Same man I just got the focus saber from carta it’s amazing.
I’m not gonna lie that ooze hot knife actually worked out for me pretty good. I had it for about a year now and I haven’t had no problem with it.
When I was growing up a hot knife was when you got 2 knives and heated them red hot with either a stove or a torch, then you’d press them against a ball of weed and inhale.

i smoke mainly diamonds and the puffco hot knife is very helpful, i’ve notice very little residue left on it. my only problem with it is when you don’t clean it properly the cap will stick on and be a struggle to come off
I bought a hot knife recently.
Yeah pretty sure me and everybody else who has used one has to disagree I’ve gone through 2 hot knifes in like almost 2 years and money best spent.
Crazy trick, but to reduce the amount of burn on the hot knife, put your cold dab on the side wall, heat up the tool and lift the tool off, and dassit. 👏
Minimal waste, the heat only slides off the surface of your dab.
I have a silicone dab mat just for that
I have to agree with you, I’ve even used tooth picks for dab tools before if i forget mine and it works just as well if not better than a heated dab tool 😂
Use my keys when I'm at work 💀✌ can use whatever. Like said already, good for sauce maybe but any other wax you can literally use anything as a pick

I love my hot knife. I use it multiple time, daily. I don't use it for all concentrates, but for those sticky ones, it rocks.
Shatter sucks but a little advice, if it comes in a folder paper square, just break it in the paper square as needed.
How does it waste it? Wont that left over just be built up on your tool next time you use it?
i love my 3grams melt tip.. they are like a $20 knockoff but you can put it on any 510 battery. it is CLUTCH!! i basically only use an e-rig and cold start.. so it works amazing for me.. i couldn't go without it!
No waste with hot knife, minuscule at most and worth the “loss”. Used properly it’s been a great tool.
Love the consistent uploads bro, subs shooting up great work keep it going fam
As a beginner my hot knife came with my og peak for free and I definitely felt like my knife was smoking my dabs before i did lol. But if you are able to get a hot knife on sale or for free with a puffco I say its worth it, my favorite way of using my hot knife is simply using it like a normal tool. I do this by not pressing the button and using less pressure when i sccop my ros and gently rubbing on the walls of my peak until it drops off and then I wipe off any excess back into my containers, I do all this while the knife and peak are cold
Tysm bro, i was literally looking at heated tools a minute ago, ive used them in the passed and kinda expected them to get better, thanks for the info
I experience "waste" with my normal titanium dab tools, I just use my dab straw to clean off the excess. That's actually pretty much all I use my dab straw for anymore.
Your smart and thorough approach reminds me so much of my son in law. Kind of one of those weed masters that everything the say is accurate.
These are best for wax pens, it's almost impossible to get a good placement on the coil with just a regular tool, takes forever at least.
do you refrigerate your concentrates? I find it just a useful backup plan
Hey man i wanted to know which vaporizer you can recommend cause i am SICK of joints
Check out Troy and Jerry Think Dank on youtube they specialize in dry herbs vapes and will set you right
For the price checkout the arizer products. I've been vaping them exclusively for about 10 years. The solo 2 is a beast and pretty portable for only about $120. Or the air if you prefer to be able to swap batteries. It's less convenient but if you have a few batteries you'll never have to wait for a charge.
@@DabbaHashery thanks man i appreciate it, ill check em out for sure
I'd want to see how you're doing it. It sounds like you're trying to scoop it with tool instead of having it stick edge to edge to minimize contact.
Happy 710, i like mine comes in handy for sauce, diamonds, shatter, rosin jam. Take care of it and it will take care of you, cheers.
Flathead tip titanium tool is the way. No heat needed just your fingernail to scrape it off into the chamber/banger
Love my Saber! But agree, don't always find myself needing the heated feature.
very good point, anyone that actually would want/need this would be an on-the-go dabber more than a stationary or at home dabber. hot knives are simply for speedy and hopefully mess free dabbing when you don't have a good space and there is a price to pay for that luxury. clean your nails and happy trails :)
Just bought a focus V Saber thinking it was some kind of nectar collector just to find out it’s a hot knife. Nice. Could’ve just bought a new atomizer for my e-rig.
I work as a sterilization technician for a dentist. Whenever I need a new dab tool I take mine from the doctors spare supply of dental tools
Aight that’s kinda nasty
Your Mitch Hedberg reference got me to subscribe. I've watched some of your videos in the past when I was researching things like the Puffco Peak and Plus, but I was not subbed. Until that reference, lmao.
Pro tip, if you just put your rosin at the tip of the hot knife everytime you scoop and if it’s just barely on the you probably get the same waste as a normal dab tool just saying
How do I find that metal dab tool? what's it called? I tried finding it off the name you said but nothing.
Use it for erigs
Exactly
Loved the mitch hedberg anology😭😂
I’m still a peasant over here smoking shatter so the hot knife actually helps cutting lines
Flexy tool is the best dabber over a billion dabs severed and still looks brand new🔥
I use stainless steel dab tools, the cheapest surgical steel ones I can find, and if concentrate is stuck to it I heat the metal briefly with a jet-lighter and the concentrate just slides off.
I already spend far too much of my life farting about with charging cables to be bothered with a $100 device whose functionality I can match for $10..
I like it quick and easy. Who wants to charge a scooper?🤣
Seen a couple of comments saying to hold it against the bottom of the bowl, so gonna try that 🙏🏻💎💭💭💭
Dude, you're videos get higher and higher quality everytime I watch keep it up man!

So generally I agree with most of your advise but I love my hot knife!!! For rosin when using an e-rig, you just can’t beat it.
Really appreciate the Mitch Hedberg reference
I have a puffcopeak pro with a 3d chamber and the hot knife is a must have if you want to keep it clean and do easy dabs with no mess
"You gotta charge them, what do you do if it dies?"
If it dies, then charge it.
Dang you must make hot knife dab tools for a living to be this invested in the convo lol😢
