How long were they carrying the fastbacks by Milwaukee? I've had mine for almost 3 years now and it still functions and operates like it was brand new. I do use it daily heavily working in shipping and receiving. I'm just curious to be quite honest.

Dude has millions of subs and is making millions of dollars on this platform. I don’t think one video is gonna make or break him. These tools are made by friends of his which he clearly states in the beginning. Why wouldn’t you support your friends with a solid good review?
@@nickprice7752 who said one video would break him? Would I make myself look stupid to help my friends sell their overpriced inferior tools? No I wouldn't. I respect my friends, and I would respect my followers, not insult their intelligence. There are superior products on the market for less money. We all know it. There is a group of people that will spend the money to support someone they like, this video didn't change that. It did lower his audience trust in him because he can clearly be bought aka he isn't giving unbiased honest reviews. Which is a strange move for a channel clearly turning into a tool review channel. So the real question you should be asking is what reviews benefit his friends, is he paid for, who did he make a deal with to push his shop shades, etc. Lastly, Friendship is not based on what you can do for each other.
That "channel lock" screwdriver is made by Megapro and that's the company that Linus uses to produce the ltt screwdriver driver. The ltt screwsriver is a refined version of the Megapro screwdriver
I don't see anyone ever beating Pica without going much cheaper. Sure they're not the best pencils out there, but they're affordable, refillable, include a sharpener, they're strong enough to withstand a couple years of daily use, they've built a brand specifically for dry markers for all materials and sizes/usecases.. You have to add a LOT of value at the same price point to beat that.
What I actually like about this channel is the editors. They never fail to add in a meme at the perfect time lightly roasting John for the dumb things he says from time to time! Obviously John allows them to stay in the videos so at least we know he can take a good ribbing.
Fast back isn’t exactly made of plain plastic. Yes, it’s a polymer, but it is nylon type, which is awesome in a carbon fiber way…ish. Also, try to wash folding mechanisms with pressured brake wash, before lubrification. Otherwise, multiple layers of oil will retain various material chips and gunk.
i have the milwaukee fastback with the 5 blade holder. I’ve had it for about 4 years and really like it. Never replaced anything except for the blades and lubing the pivot once a year
The fact that the husky and the Jerry knife were the same and over time would have the exact same issues but Jerry’s knife gets the win is crazy. Personally the fast back is the best just for ease of use.
Ahh, just what I was looking for...a single video showcasing the only parts I fast forward through when watching my favorite wood workers! For your next video maybe you could record a weeks worth of live TV and edit out everything but The View. ...don't forget to mention Shop Shades!
My only problem with the LTT screwdrivers is that the grip is extremely slippery and it tends to fall out of my hands a lot. I addec some grip tape to my handle to prevent this. so 4 out of 5 for me.
So I like the idea and I like that you at least were open about knowing the TH-camrs but it basically defeated the purpose of a tool review. Also just a few things I noted. 1. The Milwaukee Fastback is also $15 and without you guys doing some sort of open/close test on the JerryRigEverything blade it's hard to do any sort comparison between the two especially with how well regarded the Milwaukee is. 2. Lets be honest you didn't test the Tank Strap at all. 3. $80 pencil. It's a tough pencil but no other tests like ease of refilling, comfort of extended use, etc... 4. At this point just go to Project Farm's video. 5. "Harnd Forged" $100 scalpel. 6. Novelty torch, not really a tool. 7. Project Farm or Matt's Off Road. I know you are likely having fun doing this rather than being serious still when you say "Test" that actually means something to your target audience.

Nobody said that Matt's rope is the best in the world, and its more than good enough to tow a massive load. So to say that its not even great, show how little you know about ropes!
20:40 The LTT bit driver, genuinely, is my everyday, all-purpose bit driver for _everything_ I do that doesn't require prying or ultra tiny work. I use it for woodworking, electrical work, plumbing, automotive repair (even going so far as to use it when rebuilding a Chevy 261 stovebolt for my friend's '57 Two-Ten), and just general housework. It's a _seriously_ quality workhorse. My biggest gripe with the product is that they _still_ don't have a bit storage case for their 20mm bits. Like, sure I could 3D print one, but 🤷♂
I hate clips on knives, and I hate taking them off when they leave extra holes. And if a utility knife doesn't have storage for replacement blades, that's a full deal breaker. Ratchet straps and tow cables are nice, but I only have a few things worth dedicating ratchet straps to, and I haven't towed anything regularly for decades. For most applications I just use mule tape and tie it off like rope. It's easily as strong or stronger than ratchet straps or tow cables, cheaper, and a lot more versatile. And that Blacktail Studio knife has always called to me as a throwing knife. I was pleased to see you had the same thought. And btw, throwing spikes are thrown without rotation, but like you, I like the motion of the tumble, so that's usually how I throw, too. And fyi, you can easily play darts with throwing knives, even if you like throwing end over end. You have to back up a step and a half from the line, and throw from the point, to get the right rotation. I generally use steak knives for darts, and I can hit the button now and again. But it'll get you thrown out of bars.
I have an LTT screwdriver. I am also a tool hoarder. I’m not typically a ratcheting screwdriver guy but I like the LTT one and part of that is, admittedly, a positive association with their brand. I enjoy their content and believe Linus and the others with the company generally try to be good humans. Ratcheting drivers have their uses and places and the LTT driver isn’t “hot garbage”. I have tools that I have abused daily and would wholeheartedly back (Ingersoll Rand 2135Ti comes quickly to mind) and, while the LTT driver hasn’t yet earned that place in my heart, it has earned a place in my “inside the house” tool purse. I’d buy it again.
Milwaukee does have an all metal Fastback, I love and have had one for 2 years. I've used it as a wedge, and the mechanism has yet to wear out with frequent use.
I do love that JerryRigEverything had been using a Cobalt knife for tens of years and loved it so much he made his own knife in the same style but improved on it in every way. Even ahs cobalt scales on one of them as tribute to the Cobalt knife.
I've got a JerryRig knife. Not bad, but it's not replacing my Fastback. I have the one with the integrated screwdriver and it's a game changer. Oh and the most important part, they all have a bottle opener.
It’s fine. It’s just a Megapro ODM white label with the direction selector reversed. I think a lot of people who work with computers are used to the bargain bin stuff Microcenter and Fry’s would sell back in the day. Compared to a $5 screwdriver they charged you $30 for that LTT is going to change your life. There’s either another customer or a bit of shared/copied mold making equipment with the same body. You can buy the screwdriver with a less convenient bit holder for half the price from the Williams brand. When I did mobile computer repair 15 years ago I used 30-40 dollar Boxer brand screwdrivers for the better ergonomics and the 72 tooth ratchet. I was gifted an LTT and I use it every so often but the slick plastic isn’t great compared to Boxer’s rubberized grip for a full day of work. The expensive SnapOn failing is funny in that it highlights part of why those tools cost so much. He could have called them and the local SnapOn truck would have dropped off a new one.
As a folding utility knife connoisseur (working in a warehouse for 4 years and being a buyer for supplies in three warehouses and having input from all warehouse locations), the Stanley folding knife is the best all arounder. It's also fairly cheap (used to be way cheaper). But it's one handed operation, thin, and secure enough. Ive also dropped plenty of them from heights of over 20ft and they worked fine afterwards. I've also abused them plenty other ways too. The one complaint I've gotten is a fear of the blade coming out when being used but personally, I've had push button blade change knives come out on me a few times and only once had I had a stanley slide lock blade come out on me and I've used these knives vastly more than anything else.
Of all the tools, I want the Lightsabre FIRST, the LTT Ratchet Screwdriver for its usefulness second and finally the Matt's recovery rope for its pulling ability. The other items are not part of my usual daily routine. V
You're just lying to your viewers now. I gave up on this video at 4:45 where you said it doesnt have as much play in the blade. Yet when you wiggled the one you were reviewing it quite clearly did have the same amount of play so you just kind of wiggled it differently and less obvious to the camera. You're not very good at deceiving your viewers John
FYI you should never tow anything from a ball hitch, if you are using a tow rope, please do not tow with a chain. If the ball breaks off it can cause massive damage to anyone/anything that gets hit.
@@jeffolson9547 Towing a trailer versus using a rope is 2 different things. I should have clarified that when making my initial comment. Tow ropes you should use D-rings or tow hooks but not a ball.
ratcheting screwdrivers are well and good but the best one I've ever found has been a clutch style where you flip a switch forward or back and it free spins in either direction. Because its non ratcheting you don't have that slop between the teeth/dont need to hit the next tooth to lock it.
Personally, I usually spend a little more so I’m not replacing them as often. But I know eventually the $15 will need replaced. I have the fastback, I’ve not heard of the one he’s showing here.
@@jaredvandyke had a the smaller fast back, but lost it on a job site. Figured if it’s that east to lose, might as well get the cheaper husky one form HD. I think the husky might be easier to clean than the Milwaukee
Using the bottom line Husky and Habor Freight against Milwaukee's top end model was bullshit. I love your builds. I love your pallet purchase videos. But, your reviews always biased shilling.
You should check out the Fiskars Pro folding utility knife. All-metal with a rubber overmold, flicks open and closed effortlessly with a push button lock, super comfortable to hold, changing the blade uses a pull-up lock that doesn't require constantly squeezing as you change the blades, the clip works pretty well, and it's the winner of Project Farm's punishing comparison.
Really don't know if this is a skit or not. Sure hope that it is, cause as far as reviews and tests go, sheesh Also, you said you'd test if the tank straps stretch. I am guessing that they do stretch and you cut that bit out of the video but the editor forgot to cut the part where you said you'll test it. Also x2, I have a strong suspicion that you replaced the ltt screwdriver with a new one when you shot the "it still works bit" after you drove over it. Cause to me, that looks bent when you filmed it upclose after you drove over it. And the exposure when you test to see if it still works is very high which conveniently makes it impossible to see if the scratches on the handle are there. 10/10 video

I've been impressed with the two TH-camr tools I've picked up. The LTT Screwdriver and the EEVBlog BM235 multimeter. Very solid, overkill for most people but still solid and it's nice to throw some money at channels I like every now and then.
Love my LTT screwdriver. Only thing is that dropping it when closed can still break off the bit holder clips. Known issue.
So the TH-camrs dont allow reviews on their website? Well there ya go

When you fill a butane lighter. You are supposed to shake the fluid, fill with the lighter upside down and then stand the lighter 5 min on flat surface before use. And every other fill up. Purge the air from the lighter and set to low before refilling
I’m sorry but that pencil for $80 should come with a few extra pieces of lead!
More like 10 of those in a one.
4:27 I have the fastback for about 3 years. Mine has the single blade storage as well as a fold out nut driver with a double sided Phillips and flat head bit. I love that thing. Extremely useful.
The Milwaukee fastback with the screwdriver in it is my favorite utility knife ever!
New to this channel, and so far I really like the style. Big fan of all the little frames and jokes mixed in throughout. It's like rap adlibs, but for youtube content.
I purchased Cam’s marking knife basically because I enjoy his content. Great quality as you would expect from Cam and the price point. Get ya one.
It’s just a sharpened chunk of metal he had he logo slapped onto. He didn’t design or make anything. Easily the worst product out of all of these.
1:06 you can get these same ones without the branding from harbor freight for their red brand and lowes for much much less. Also had to like the video with you buying dude a truck
Surprised the bourbon blade wasn't there
Considering everything he tested, was your average tool, that no one really "needs" the bourbon blade would have been great since its a new idea!
There is no way to say anything nice about that thing, it's just silly.
You had to buy that blade the it was released. I bought it the moment the video dropped. And I use it everyday when I’m building. Awesome knife and it’s worth 180.00

How long were they carrying the fastbacks by Milwaukee? I've had mine for almost 3 years now and it still functions and operates like it was brand new. I do use it daily heavily working in shipping and receiving. I'm just curious to be quite honest.
Had mine for more than 5 years and is not plastic is metal with good paint lol, I can tell you mine I don't take care of, I do tile so I get it wet and dirty, they are good, I use the one with the extra space for blades

He had a credibility that he could lose?!
Wrong FastBack
Suposed to fill butane with it upside down
Fast back isn’t exactly made of plain plastic. Yes, it’s a polymer, but it is nylon type, which is awesome in a carbon fiber way…ish.
Also, try to wash folding mechanisms with pressured brake wash, before lubrification. Otherwise, multiple layers of oil will retain various material chips and gunk.
carpenter pen is 0.5 to 1 usd?? i think i take the 13 seconds to sharpen that instead of paying 80 usd lol
money/price is all that matters after all
a regular mechanical pen with thick lead is $2-5
i have the milwaukee fastback with the 5 blade holder. I’ve had it for about 4 years and really like it. Never replaced anything except for the blades and lubing the pivot once a year
Another great video, buuut it smells a bit biased, specially from the getgo regarding jerrys knife
Yep!
Yep. Knife didn't survive the fall but "the blade chipping doesn't matter. 5 stars"
The fact that the husky and the Jerry knife were the same and over time would have the exact same issues but Jerry’s knife gets the win is crazy. Personally the fast back is the best just for ease of use.

I will say as a tech guy that has the LTT screwdriver I use it constantly to rack/unrack equipment in and out of data center racks. But I assume MOST people don't do that too frequently :P
" Say your putting together your daughter............. or your niece's baby doll's bunkbed " bit of a pause there. Since when did daughters come with some assembly required that requires a screwdriver? hahaha, Even my wife found that hilarious
There’s a joke here about ‘assembling your daughter’ (sex) using a ‘screwdriver’ (the drink), but I’m not creative enough to make it funny

The LTT screw driver took 2 years to make they make a very nice cable management kit
I do love that JerryRigEverything had been using a Cobalt knife for tens of years and loved it so much he made his own knife in the same style but improved on it in every way. Even ahs cobalt scales on one of them as tribute to the Cobalt knife.
Absolutely, when trying to clip something into your pocket you don't want to look like a certain "Secret Service" agent trying to holster her weapon 😂
I've got a JerryRig knife. Not bad, but it's not replacing my Fastback. I have the one with the integrated screwdriver and it's a game changer. Oh and the most important part, they all have a bottle opener.
The LTT screwdriver is such a good product, quite happy with how well it handles everything
Mine broke in a week and the replacement only lasted a month.

Why buy the knife at the beginning of the video for $15, when you can get a 3 pack husky brand at Home Depot for $20?

Really don't know if this is a skit or not. Sure hope that it is, cause as far as reviews and tests go, sheesh
Also, you said you'd test if the tank straps stretch.
10/10 video
If you put a twist in the straps just one in each strap it stops them from singing when you drive because of the vibration in the wind
