    • @PatOutdoors

      48 volts is needed. You need to add the 4th battery and wire it in a series for this to work

    Great vid. Can I ask what the overvolt kit actually does as opposed to just using 48v on stock controller as some do. Pardon the ignorance.

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's rated for higher discharge rate, though not much more. You also get a twist throttle that lets you track the voltage reading and have a key that turns the bike on/off so someone can't just walk away with it easily without the keys. But the most important thing for power is just adding the 4th battery and getting the correct charger to charge all (4) at the same time.

  • @Dmaze652
    @Dmaze652 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    can i do this but instead of buying an extra 12 volt battery and adding it to the stock batterys, I buy a whole 48v battery and exchange it. Would that work? i know it would be a whole lot lighter.

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can absolutely do that but lithium battery backs are usually a noticeable amount more expensive. This is the one I'm actually buying for my new set-up: amzn.to/3ILCeTA

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Impossible to fit 6 SLA batteries in the frame design. You’d also need to get a 72V brushed controller to make it work with the factory motor.. not worth it in my honest opinion.

Wanted to do what you did in your over volt video where you put 4 12v batteries for 48v also wanted to know if I got 4 12v 20ah batteries and wired them all together for 48v 20ah would that work with stock motor with the amp hours on each of the batteries bc I just want them to last longer that’s why I wanted to get 4 individually 12v 20ah batteries or what you would recommend to get around 20ah

    Is this kit worth buying? Or should I skip to full on motor and lithium battery upgrades.

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on your budget. This whole thing was less than $200 with the 4th battery and manages to go 8-10 MPH faster than stock, but adds more weight to the bike overall. But if you're looking for 30+ MPH, you need to go with a brushless motor and lithium battery set up, which is guaranteed to be over $500+. Gotta pay to play

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t suggest a brushed motor upgrade if you’re just doing the overvolt kit with sla batteries. The gains would be very minimal since the factory motor overvolted max performance is pretty matched with the battery/controller output. If you want more power than that later, I suggest saving up for a brushless kit eventually
