Nearly 20 years later, completely on reflexive cue, I said "Ya' Haven't Had Enough?!" when Duo Maxwell said it. As an American who moved to the UK around this time, the Toonami block was a godsend.
I actually recorded this in September 2001, it was around the time Cartoon Network was showing the Cell Games saga of DBZ leading up to premiere of the Great Saiyaman saga. Good times!
Omg, I remember when they were advertising the Cell Games saga too. The trailer resembled a WWE trailer, and they even used The Game by Motörhead, HHH’s theme.
Even after all these years, there's one line that's stuck with me thanks to this promo. A line that which I always think to myself when I look at the time to see how long I've got left at work. When it's down the last hour, I instinctively smirk and think... "One more to go!"
From about 2003 onwards I searched everywhere for this. Found it back.In 2008 and ripped it onto a few cds so I'd never lose it aha. Still one of my favourite songs/compilation, regardless of whether that is due to nostalgia or not.
holy fucking shit, decided to search for this advert just on a whim and didn't expect to actually find it. this song is just as I remembered it, note for note. the visuals are absolute perfection. simpler times and all that
Good lord, 21 years ago... time's really gone flying by, hasn't it? I always tuned in for DBZ, Tenchi and Gundam Wing. I'm not the only one here that remembers a version of this video with a different song attached, am I? I honestly swear back when the promo started airing it had different music, but it was replaced with this track after a short while.
I remember all of this like it was yesterday, I remember getting up at 7am to watch DBZ before school and then running back to the house to catch it again at 5:30. Simple times, the best times.
I'm an animator/graphic designer and I always refer to this video for inspiration it draws upon a raw originality not found in animation animation today!
Yes mate! This was one of my favourite adverts when I was 11. Toonami was such a kick ass part of Cartoon Network and this advert reinforced that every time!
Such a great promo. :) I had only just gotten Cartoon Network via On Digital and I just loved this, despite the same helicopter from Gundam Wing getting destroyed twice. LOL. :) This promo was also included as a trailer for the UK VHS release of Batman of the Future (Batman Beyond): Return of the Joker as well. :)
I remember this promo originally used the song Supermoves by Overseer. The calm section halfway through perfectly matched up with midway point the video and did an even better job of hyping up the Toonami block back in the day. Yet to find any uploads for that one but it probably only aired briefly before this version was rolled out.
I was so happy when I first found this promo a few years back after searching and searching, have it bookmarked on TH-cam and backed up just in case it gets lost to time. Really think this and the media around really helped me creatively in my formative years late 90s grungey cartoons like batman beyond(batman of the future here in the Uk) ghostbusters extreme, M.I.B the animated show, the anime they started showing on cartoon network they put in this promo like dbz... it was like Finally! Tv that wasn't aimed at little kids and full of action but still fantastical aided by the animated nature! I dunno how to put in words anyway, means a lot and I'll always remember this promo aha, would love to hear from the editor of it and know what they were inspired by and what they went on to do.
Does anyone remember the one like this but it has fire in the disco by electric six playing in the background with Batman of the future showing ? Good times
Likewise I preferred Toonami as a block within CN, it was easy to keep track of when things were on. It was around the time it became a dedicated channel that I stopped watching, by that point CN had shown enough marathons of the shows I was into. It would be great to have that kind of channel again with some fresh content though with an awesome promo hyping everything up.
Hmm i remember vividly ringing up one of my best friends to talk about the mysterious Supreme kai and kibito at the tournament and that was September 2002 because I left junior school in 02 and my mate went to a different secondary school than me 😢 so had to ring him in excitement to talk about it. That's a whole year from when u say... but 2bf the gohan high school and videl crap leading up to that tournament could have taken a year or just under😅 remember always waiting for the new series to come over seas but they'd always play repeat saga marathons in the meantime!
Thank you for this ! It was stuck it my head for so long and I spent hours just YouTubing it - all I had to do was add UK 😂. Does anyone know the soundtrack name?
+Jarod Mighty The start and end use "Sucker 10". The bit in the middle is "Eclipse". Not a clue on the artist, just search for Toonami Sucker 10 and you'll get the isolated track though.
Well lads, it's been 20 years.
One more to go
I’ve has this ad burned into my brain since the day I first saw it.
RandomShinigami7 Been searching for it ever since Toonami ended. So cool.
Real talk
Pure memories man 🏴
Likewise.
#Relatable

We must be brothers
i loved the "one more to go!"
I say you came at a good time, as soon this whole block would be it's own channel, unlike in the US for some reason. :)
I actually recorded this in September 2001, it was around the time Cartoon Network was showing the Cell Games saga of DBZ leading up to premiere of the Great Saiyaman saga. Good times!
i miss those days so much i was about 9 at that point. Used to love coming back home from school and tuning into cartoon network toonami about 5pm
You're a legend. One of my favourite and most memorable promo
Omg, I remember when they were advertising the Cell Games saga too. The trailer resembled a WWE trailer, and they even used The Game by Motörhead, HHH’s theme.
It's been 17 years since this first aired, but I still remember it after all this time. I miss CNX/Toonami.
This hits just as hard, if not harder than when I first heard this 20 years ago! 🙌🏻🐐
FINALLY! found this tune thats been haunting me for years as it was just so amazing, this was when toonami was at its best.
Fuuuuuuuck me and my brother would rock the fuck out when we saw this one the telly! >:D

YES! I remember it having a different song too, I tried looking for it on old VHS's of DBZ I have but alas i cant find it :(
Was it by the way by the red hot chilli peppers? I remember both versions.
Alot of people forgot or didn't know toonami had a a block that went into it's own channel then it was cnx/toonami all day long then just ended
I remember all of this like it was yesterday, I remember getting up at 7am to watch DBZ before school and then running back to the house to catch it again at 5:30. Simple times, the best times.
So much nostalgia! 5.30pm couldn't wait for it every week day
I'm an animator/graphic designer and I always refer to this video for inspiration it draws upon a raw originality not found in animation animation today!
Kent Buchanon - Sucker 10
It's already in these comments somewhere, but it's hard to find.
Who's watching this in 2020 and going to watch it in 2021 when it hits the 20 year milestone?
Man I remember watching this as a kid, I really miss it :')
Yes mate! This was one of my favourite adverts when I was 11. Toonami was such a kick ass part of Cartoon Network and this advert reinforced that every time!
TheHypersonic55 Nothing better than watching Dragonball Z after getting home from school XD
Holy shit. I remember this like it was yesterday. It hasn't been on TV in like 16 years and yet i was waiting for Heero to say 'one more to go'.
Once you see this promo you never forget it i remember it back in 2001, so dope.
I feel bad for the kids of today. We had everything.
Kids today have more opportunities
@@dustsuwatts8325 there was a innocence back when I was a kid. The world is so fucked now.
@@mrx7062 that's true. The 90's early 2000's were pure.
The internet being easily accessible is whats destroying the kids of today
They do have tablets and mobile phones tho
I usually come back every few years to watch this promo for Toonami that aired in the UK so many years ago.
I've been looking for this promo for years. I've finally found it. It's been so long.
I am literally crying right now because this is the promo I've been looking for for years
Don’t forget to download it
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug! 😢😢 take me back bro
Holy hell, 20 years already. Time does fucking fly by.
The soundtrack of my childhood and high school days, the best times ever.
I remember this commercial like yesterday.
I remember watching this promo! I remember watching Dragonball Z, Batman Of The Future and Gundam Wing on here!
The Golden Age of Cartoon Network, i miss those days. 😥
Does this count as like the first AMV?
How my childhood sings to me, what a fantastic time.
For those that want the music:
Artist (yes, for real): Kent Buchanon And The Buttmeat Surfers
Album: Skate Punk
Track: Sucker 10
I am so old.
Childhood called, they want it's epic montages back!
Man this was my childhood right here, most likly others too, they were good times then, i miss them, we need to bring this back some how
Wondered why they used a "DBZ Dead Zone" clip when Toonami UK didn't show the movie until 2005 and the promo was run from 2001 onwards?
Japan created my childhood!
Your mom*
Ah great memories, thank you for uploading
take me back to 2001 please!!!!
What a time! Got our first family pc around that time too!

What's the beat at the 1:15 mark? That beat is amazing.
Toonami really made these anime's and cartoon's better with these promos.
THANK YOU!!!!!
this was from the UK toonami.
