After 20 years the Cell Games TV advert came into my head. And I actually found it on TH-cam!! Great nostalgia

OMG the narrator pronounces "Saiyan" correctly!

I remember the "Cell Games" saga promo and it had the song... "Time to play the game"... (same song Triple H used for this theme song).

It's weird how a guy from a commercial can pronounce 'Saiyan' correctly, yet the dubbing company can't.

Anyone have a recording of that Toonami weekend promo that used clips from the Namek / Frieza saga fight with Babylon Zoo's 'Spaceman'?

Oh wow that Cell saga advert has been stuck in my head for YEARS!
I have vivid memories of watching DBZ late night on cartoon network and seeing that advert.

So it looks like DBZ began in the UK with the Ocean dubs on Monday March 5th 2000, ran through to the ginu assult on Goku on planet namek. Then the new series from Monday September 4th 2000 picked up from there with the Funimation dubs, through Frieza, Garlic and Trunks. I recall it went back to Ocean for the Androids, Cell sagas in Spring 2001 afterwards. Cell games likewise in September 2001.

I remember seeing the ad with the martial artist when I was 10. I dismissed it thinking it was overhyped and some kind of Superman knock-off. Then one day, I was bored with nothing else to do and decided to watch it. I remember it aired on Cartoon Network at 5pm on weekdays. I'd never encountered a cartoon that had a continuing storyline and felt invested in how things would turn out. I started watching when Goku was travelling on Snake Way and Gohan was trying to escape Piccolo. 21 years later and it's still the best show I have ever watched. The Frieza saga was like the Saiyan saga on crack. I'm so glad I watched the show because not only was it amazing in and of itself, but it led to me meeting a lot of cool people and moving to the US. If I'd never watched it, my life would be so different. I know DBZ is an anime, but to me, it was its own genre (though it introduced me to anime in general and I enjoy watching that).

The last one has to be the best dbz advert ever made, and yeah the karate champ haha takes me back to my childhood. I remember the "spaceman" ad it showed friezas fight with piccolo alot, i loved it. Thanks uploader for a trip down memory lane

At the time when I saw this promo, I didn't even realise Goku was the Super Saiyan - it wasn't until, during his fight with Frieza, when he took off his orange vest and kept the blue one that I actually realised, "holy shit, it's him!". I was about 8 at the time. Was still fucking amazed when I saw the episode title of "Transformed at Last". God, I was a dumb kid, but still that was an incredible moment... watched the show from episode 1, by some incredible accident, when the Ocean broadcast was first airing. Always wished Radditz would come back, though I couldn't even remember his name by this point and was calling him "Ragis" or something...

Absolutely brilliant!!! My past is revived. Thanks for uploading that. I always remembered that Toonami tune in the background back then 2:26. What a legend. Toonami block on Cartoon Network was the best moments of my chilled hood.

Finally! I've been waiting for years for someone to upload the adverts relating to Goku's Super Saiyan transformation. I've always remembered the narrator's line "After 3 thousand years a Super Saiyan has arrived..." because of his bizarre pronunciation of "Saiyan". I did remember the advert being slightly differently though - I thought he said these words against a backdrop of Goku emerging from the water, but it turns out that this clip is used in the other mini-advert of the same type.

DBZ advert I remember the most was one for a weekend long marathon, playing every episode from the first up to where it was at the time (Frieza saga). It used Moby's "Trouble So Hard" as the music.
I remember making my dad tape the whole thing for me - I hadn't ever seen the first episodes, I'd only seen it from the Namek Saga, and I wanted to see the rest. He had cable and Cartoon Network but we only had terrestrial at my mum's house, so I couldn't watch it there :(
