That’s just their stupid way of trying to shut people down by saying they’re attracted to kids. It’s also projection since that side is full of kiddy diddlers.
They’re the kind of people who will look at short and petite women (likely women under 5’6 like myself) both in fiction and real life and believe that they’re all children or look like children.
It's pretty telling when people consider an attractive woman to be automatically sexualized and problematic. Somehow people seem to miss that having this mentality of "anything attractive is sexual" isn't helping women at all.
I mean, lets be honest. The only reason devs put attractive characters into games is for eye candy. Also, the word attractive mostly refers to being sexually attractive. I mean, a fat woman can still have a pretty face and look good from the neck upwards. But you wouldnt call her attractive anymore then, would you? Its always connected to sexual attraction.

People aren’t allowed to have their own standards now? Lol. I’m not weird for thinking a super smooth skin, large eyed, baby faced, high voiced woman seems like a girl, it’s the other way around. If you were Asian, then sure, that’s your standard, but where I’m from, and where most who are defending this are from this isn’t the norm. It’s the same people who go to Thailand to bang 20 year olds who look twelve, who are fawning over these child like images. I didn’t want to say it but… The fact a lot of these examples come from Japan, a country infamous for pedophiles, and record numbers of sexual assaults on women, young and older, which it’s own government believes to be under reported, is producing these character, who look, act and sound like high school girls isn’t something to overlook.
The fact they still hate anim despite how popular has gotten in the last years tells me that the vast majority of people simply hoped in the bandwagon because it’s trendy, they still fucking hate anime and they will always do.
People say these beautiful characters look like children for one of 2 reasons: 1) youthfulness is related to beauty and they are jealous they no longer have their youthful beauty either due to time or actively destroying it themselves, 2) they are pedos themselves and are trying to distract from their own evils.
Or the 3rd is they hate healthy looking woman. but ya those two are also what I've noticed as common reasons for attacking what is considered the desirable physical traits in a woman despite those traits being genuinely tied to physical maturity and health of women.
Fortunately, as this TH-cam video hammered home, people are ignorant about what other people do and assume their way is the only way. I hope one day we can stop this, but I'm not holding my breath either.
They don’t actually think beautiful women look like children they just know that if they say that enough times they can get power and influence over the game it’s been going on in video games for a while now.
Correction, they THINK that they say enough times they can get power and influence over gaming. Let’s be honest with ourselves here, every game where they force this crap onto the audience has generally fell off or flopped upon release. Last of Us 2, Saints Row Reboot, Forspoken, Lord of The Rings Gollum, Redfall, Suicide Squad, all of them have consistently ended in failure in one way or another. Gamers have made it clear that they don’t accept this fake body positivity along with the rest of the false diversity narratives that these psychopaths try to force onto gaming and that they can’t guilt trip gamers into accepting it either, no matter how many times they spam it or how many games they try to force it into. But theses fake progressives would rather die on the hill they’ve trapped themselves on than admit what their doing isn’t working. They’ve deluded themselves into think it’s their way or no way at all, which is why they hate it every time their games flop or when they are rejected by the audience.
Years back when I played SWTOR I got into a bickermatch with someone over the available female body types. The options were 1) petite, 2) average, 3) amazon, 4) chunky. The person I was quibbling with insisted that it was 1) underage, 2) anorexic, 3) tall, 4) normal and they swore up and down anyone choosing body type 1 or 2 was problematic, a perv, or both. It made me wonder if somewhere along the line people have forgotten what a normal body shape looks like considering how bombarded we are with images of plastic surgery and extremist activists on the internet.
These people wouldn't be happy, even if the human race ended up being like the genderless aliens from that one ST:TNG episode. They'd still be the ones forcibly reprogramming all semblance of gender identity out of people (i.e. the bad guys).
Italian here, because of my genetics and height (5ft) people treat me like I'm 15. I have a best friend and when we were actually 15 we looked like sisters (our movements are in sync) two years ago someone thought I was her daughter (she's also a smoker on and off) When I went to take the jab (mandatory to work) the doctor, two nurses and the medical volunteer managing the line of people thaught I was a minor and when I sat down after the injection for my 10 min rest, I had a nurse and a cop checking on me like they were doing with children. I've also been on a cruise when, during the safety training, they took me out of the crowd, put me in the first line like children, giving us priority. I had to say something because they were prioritizing me over taller teens...wtf?! if something bad happens I don't want to survive in place of an actual kid (teens could be my children now)! The character has a pointy face but she does look lie an adult asian (korean in this case, but also japanese or chinese) Some people are sick and so ferociously against femininity (while they promote the mocking of womanhood) that they deserve the backlash
Its human nature to like the look of pretty things. Be it Men, Women, Animals, Scenery, Art. Anything. Looking at pretty and/or attractive things can cause your brain to release dopamine. As a species we literally enjoy things more if they are pretty/attractive.
I'm not disagreeing with that, but it's still not a free-to-be-a-cvnt card just because people do not find a character fvckable. Which is legit all this boils down to: Not finding the girl fvckable = I must complain about it existing ingame. I love looking at the original Dante's pecks and men-tiddies, no doubt, but you'll not find me complaining that a disfigured, obese or creep-stache bearded character exists in the game I am playing JUST because I don't find him attractive enough to get my coochie wet. If he's not 'advertized' as a love interest, I don't give two-sh!ts about what he looks like and I will NOT make fun of him while sitting in a podcast or tweet about it in outrage. Why can't men do that with characters like Alloy or the medieval game woman people freaked out about? Not every character needs to get you hard. And if they don't; that's NOT a reason to shame looks that exist in real life.
So true. This is why I don't understand the people that claim they want to see themselves on screen. Why on earth would I want to see a video game character that looks like me? The point of escapist entertainment is it provides an outlet from which you get to leave your boring life behind and become someone more interesting, powerful, and better looking. Super sexy female characters give guys what they fantasize about. Sexy male characters do the same for women. We don't want to look at boring, flawed, average people while we are in a fantasy world.
I’m seeing a lot of people basically saying Korean women look like children. We just age differently. Sorry we can’t all age like American liberal women.
I’m so sick of people calling thin, fit or curvy body types unrealistic when there are women who look like that. A body type that is unrealistic are large, burly women in video games. Yes, women can be strong and muscular but they are still shaped differently from biological men, even if they aren’t curvy. It’s so clear that the GDs use men for references.
Korra was based on a real women, and that is as buff as women can actually get naturally. Anything more than that isn't natural. Basically I agree with you.
One only has to look up any photograph of a female athlete or sports model to prove your point correct, yet still that misguided believe is carried on.
Yeah, but they loved Abby from TLoU2; a woman who could not achieve her body type without alot of protein and steroids, but lives in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. So if a character is unrealistically ugly, that's fine, but one being (allegedly) unrealistically attractive is terrible.
I remember in the mid to late 2000's people criticised a game because a female character had an unrealistic body type even though it was later revealed that the body was based off a model.
I mean it was already a thing with Barbie and repeated heavily in the 90s with Lara Corft who got "Fixed" 2013 and people were "so happy" she didn't have her classic big chest anymore. It just got worse from there, not only regarding for the character but with female characters in generell. Meanwhile men usually get changed personality wise if they looked like a minority.
Why do people care so much about how a character in a game looks? Infact whoeven are those people? I sometimes hear of people complaining about how female characters look and yet literally nobody in my life that can think of gives a sh, is it some kind of unimportant Internet minority of weirdos?
I mean that was also the time entire countries believed that violent games turn people violent, even though all it takes is looking at the number of players and then comparing number of violent people and seeing a drastic mismatch. Researching data wasn't really a thing back then.

It’s always annoying when I see art of a woman with a body type similar to mine getting “fixed” to be more out of shape. Like no babe we are real and we deserve just as much body positivity as you.
"Fixed" is the worst thing ever happened to art. usually it is just fattening and/or black washing the character. In case of Mary Jane they were mad at a cover art showing her flexibility (just sitting with one leg ab beside her).
Gonna fix the Mona Lisa and turn her smile upside down. You think it's a joke, but someone somewhere is getting upset right now at the thought that Leonardo may have told her, a woman, to smile.
Used to be when people spoke of body types, *most* would think of short torso with long legs, balanced, or long torso with short legs. Then being skinny or chubby got thrown in as well. But with some people, it’s why a woman isn’t manly looking - literally. What happened to simpler times when body types were having to if a person had compact - short torso with long legs, balanced, or stretched - long torso with short legs body types?
Don't completely ignore the possibility of racism as the cause of this kind of criticism, because for some reason this tends to happen a lot with Asian games, especially Japanese. I think this game is Korean I think but I don't think these kind of people care. This is how these things tend to work. Is there something sexual in a western developed game? Or to be precise American? It's art. Is there something that can be seen as even remotely vaguely sexual in an Asian game? Then accusations of sexism and pedophilia are thrown around indiscriminately no matter how nonsensical it can be, and if you want examples do a bit of research about the Jason Schreier and Dragon's Crown incident for the most infamous example. I know it happened a bunch of years ago, but things haven't changed at all since that happened.
That nonsense with Dragon's Crown was the first thing that came to my mind and that was almost 11 years ago. This is not a new thing, this has been going on for almost 20 years, and its absolutely about control of the entire industry.
Racism could be the reason but i dont agree that western games get a pass. They dont, its just that they havent had sexy characters in them for a years now. It is only acceptable for women to be hot in a game when the game is "queer-friendly", like Baldurs Gate 3 or like they imagine Bayonetta to be. See, the issue is the straight male gaze - what straight men find sexy. If its something that caters to people other than straight men - women of any kind or queer men, then its ok.
In my country it is still quite noticible that, especially the 80's and 90's, people still only see the controversial sexual and social aspects to the eastern entertainment media. They act like experts on the field despite never having engaged with it at all.
I once lost my gold plated Charizard Pokémon card to the Satanic panic. When I was kid, I remember getting it. I can't remember if it was part of a happy meal or not, but I remember thinking how cool it looked on the way home. As soon as I got back home, my mom took it from me. Apparently, this pastor that she listened to on the radio was talking about how Pokémon was evil and called the characters like Pikachu demons. I never saw that card again. To this day, I don't know what she did with it. Hopefully she at least gave to someone instead of throwing it away.
Lol the same happened to me except it was a very nice and detailed Goku figurine from Dragon Ball that a friend gave me after visiting Japan, somebody told my dad that it was "satanic" and so he took it and I never saw it again, it was one of my most priced possessions as a child, Super Saiyan Goku looking down at Freeza. I still miss it to this day 20 years later lol.
If your mother believed the card was of the Devil and gave it to someone else. That would make her a horrible person. Hahaha. Sadly it would have been destroyed and thrown out.
@@Ranadinn Yeah, that's a good point. Unless she knew a Satanist and was feeling particularly generous towards them, she probably threw it away or burned it.
First they gobafter "unrealistic" body types. Sure, fine but then they attacked uncommon body types. Examples Tida Lockhart or Uzaki. Physically fit women with larger busts exist so do stacked short stacks but they attack them anyway. Now they are going after the more common body types that are considered attractive. They won't stop.
Wait till you get into the things people are calling kiddy didling stuff. I've seen takes like two twenty year olds with a two year age gap as a problem, "height gapes", people saying anyone under 5'6" or flat should be thought of as minors (post minors they call it), saying the age of consent should be 26+, saying extroverts and introverts shouldn't get together, etc. Plus, anything anime apparently equals children to them. And then they go into explicitly adult only places and start crying how it should be shut down because minors exist (sometimes claiming they are, but it's the internet, so who knows, even without that expanded criteria of being one).
@@Alteori Essentially anything that can be construed as a perception of "childness" or "child-like" and any for of age difference, no matter how absurd and arbitrary will meet some accusation of being CP. And from all political persuasions as well, too good of a moral misrepresentation to not abuse I suppose. (There's a lot of it...) I've seen age-gaps accused well beyond the pair in their 20s, it just happens more there from looks or it being stated more often for some reason or another. There is a xenophobic component to the specifically anime thing, a group that is okay with "cartoons," but all anime is a problem. Though, not readily obvious if you don't have a history on whatever person since you also have the a segment of the "all animation" is childish/for-children so is therefore CP, too.
It is absolutely insulting that there are people who genuinely believe that anyone under 5’6” or flat should be thought of as minors. If that isn’t absolutely body shaming, then I don’t know what is. It’s just straight up bullying at this point. It’s extremely disrespectful and disgusting that people would deliberately see someone like me as a child simply because I’m under 5’6”. That’s like claiming that a person with Dwarfism is a “literal child”. If that isn’t just simply bullying and body shaming, then I don’t know what.
Yeah not once have I felt like Kratos being built like a God "is unrealistic and unachievable and therefor unfair!!!" because... well, I can't achieve talking to Jormungandr either but it was awesome to do in the game. (I don't know if I can even type his name right.) I don't know why, but my mind has never gone to that kind of thinking. I play as those characters to experience awesome fantasy scenarios and ... to be jealeous of a fictional character would strike me as something very mentally unbalanced. Like, even if I would think like that, when I'd wish to be Spider-man, it's not because he has a ripped body and can likely get people admiring and other shallow things, but because it'd be awesome to swing around and be that powerful, to save and help people, make the world a better place etc. Even there my focus isn't to the shallow aspects, so I genuinely have never managed to understand the complaint about this. Infact I'm not sure if I've even ever known a person making that complaint. It's just noise on the internet and I don't understand why it's listened to the extent it is.
My problem with these people are that they complain about unrealistic body standards for women , but in game, comics, manga 99% of men are over 6foot tall and more chiseled than Zeus himself . It's crazy how they don't realize the double standard . I'm perfectly fine with seeing beautiful women and handsome men in games and other entertainment, I just want these people to be consistent .
If they admitted to something like that their double standard would double over and die and they'd have nothing to complain about. They need that sweet sweet validation because to people who are terminally online nothing else matters.
My own lack of motivation and having a belly doesn't mean I get to tell other people that everyone else needs to be like me. I appreciate beautiful people, they're called eye candy for a reason, they're nice to look at.

It happens to me too. I have to say: I can be your mom...literally! I'm also 5 ft, but when I'm with my friends (same age) people think I'm someone's daughter

Honestly, a lot of the western body positivity movement seems to suffer from the negative influence of American women who are insecure about their genuinely unhealthy personal body sizes.
And then they went out of their way to uglify then, tanya’s model is beautiful irl. This has been the trend when they bring in both attractive males and females, men are captured flawlessly but theres always something iffy about the women, see mass effect andromeda for most hilarious example.
Sweet Baby Inc. Is what happened A. Woke companies infiltrated our old video game industries like Rocksteady and Insomniac Games. And it’s all about ESG points and propaganda dollars. We have criticized men and how they are over sexualized and assaulted like what happened to Deadshot in the new Suicide Squad game. And how the freaking double standard is ridiculous, because it would be wrong if SA happened to Harley Quinn. And they are literally making female protagonists uglier…. Just look what happened to Mary Jane Watson. She was an aspiring actress and a super model in the comics. But in the video games. I suppose the difference is that being fat is something you can change. Being ugly isn't something you can do a lot about, so seeing a game character like you can help make you feel less unwanted. @@Here_is_Waldo Yeah, I don't think people are seeing that middle ground. Also, I can't do, like, cool kung fu and sword fighting and stuff so I'm real mad that video game characters can do that stuff. I want my video games to represent REAL bodies and REAL life. I want REALITY. I want to play as a guy with back problems who goes to a boring office job daily just to grind for basic survival. WHY ARE GAME DEVELOPERS NOT LISTENING TO ME.
Jelousy, envy, contempt, resentfulness etc. Are the mainfactors to why to which people who are ugly by birth can never be. So this twisted belief system gives them a coping mechanism that is more therapeutic that basically attempts to lift the very self-esteem but justifies thier anger towards those who are desirable, attractive etc. Its not sad but misrable.
It reminds me of those people who complain about a female character fighting in high heels cause it's impractical, & I'm basically like, so what if it's impractical it looks cool & bad@$$! Nobody complains when some guy (or lady as female characters can do it in Saints Row 3 & 4) lifts a freakin minigun in a video game even though it's unrealistic!
i think i've said it before: it all came from envy. average to ugly women tend to be jealous when facing attractive women. even attractive women may get easily envious to other women who have something they don't have, such as boobs, butts, or even happy family. this tendency is multiplied exponentially with the belief of diversity (attractiveness must be diverse, not just one category, or burn everything), equality (attractive women must be equal to me, or burn everything) and inclusion (i must be included in the attractive woman class, or burn everything)
@@Agent-57 That is a harsh statement. You are basically saying people in wheelchairs and other disorders shouldnt be part of society. Optimization is an ugly word but lets use it. @@Agent-57 survival of the fittest is not even a thing in the nature. Survival of the smartest is tho, but that is another topic I wont open. We are no animals trying to survive in the wilds anymore. Funfact in times were food was as available today being Fat was seen as a positive trait. It meant that you were rich and you could allow yourself to be that way. Of course it is unhealthy but you wont get a person to loose weight if you bodyshame them. You might get an opposite response. Also beauty standards changed alot over the times and culture. There was times were bodyhair was wanted and in modern days it is not. It switches between fat is sexy to slim is sexy depending on situation, culture and other factors. Our beauty ideals have never stayed the same. I think todays beauty standards from my observation is mostly that you look healthy and that you take care of yourself. For Videogames it really depends on the type of games you want to make but if you like to make video game that portrays a big city in which you can walk around then you kinda need all body types to make it believeable. Not all people are pretty. Most people are bouncing around looking average. Then there is personal taste which can vary so much for individuals. I think every bodyshape has its "costumer". I think the main problem is that people overanalyze this stuff. Wario and Dr. Eggman are beloved chunky Video or Rufus from Street Figher IV. Hell you could be Fat CJ in GTA. There is also Obelix from the Asterix and Obelix Comics. Aesthetics are important factor but more important are well-made characters and that is what is actually missing.
Rarely do I see anyone bring up the point that a lot of pretty or super muscular guys ever get criticized for being "unrealistic". Like, let both women and men be thirsted for
apparenlty there's this thing called the male gaze, and male gaze is bad so you have to avoid that and appeal to the female gaze and lesbian gaze, which honestly to me just sounds like cope. Like I've heard that the lesbian gaze is more personality focused instead of body focused because "lesbians love women while men love their bodies" which is total BS. Stop trying to put yourself on a moral high ground, it's not wrong to just say "wow you have nice honkers." it's like people are so scared to sound remotely objectifying or sexualising so instead they just say even weirder shit.
I fully agree with you on this. There people who just love to criticize everything and try to enforce their opinions and what you like is terrible and you should feel ashamed about that. I say them "who the fuck cares?" Everybody is built slightly different and beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I remember the uproar over MK a few years back. NR came out and said it was unrealistic for the female characters to dress kinda skimpy, then had almost every male character shirtless.
They basicaly also ignored all fighting sports like WWE. Heck they were mad at the Street Fighter skin of Cammy even though gymnists and dancer wear leotards.
Also, MK is a world where people fight with knives and magic powers and shit; "realism" should involve people wearing as much armor as possible, OR wearing as little as possible so they are light on their feet, not wearing 3 layers of clothing neck to toe that covers everything and limits movement but is still too thin to protect them in the slightest.
Honestly. I deeply despise the double standard in society where it’s perfectly fine for a real life man or a fictional male character to look attractive and a pinnacle of beauty and absolutely no one has a problem with it, but when a real life woman or a fictional female character has the same look, it’s suddenly a problem and a crime against humanity. They act as if women are completely innocent and pure, incapable of doing anything wrong or weird and aren’t guilty of being lustrous and flirtatious over pretty male characters just as much as men would be over female characters. Have they ever seen the kind of female audience that the Bishōnen character designs in games, anime, and manga attract? If you’re a fan of a franchise that has Bishōnen character designs such as Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts for example, then you would definitely be aware of this kind of audience and the type of weird fantasies they express and the type of fan art and fanfiction they create. It doesn’t matter how much of a toxic, messed up relationship that two male and Bishōnen characters clearly have on-screen (Cloud and Sephiroth being a good example), fan girls will absolutely fantasize about it and sexualize it to high heaven. Also Tumblr SexyMen. Enough said.
Very fair point. I think it comes from the idea people used to (and many still) have that games are played almost entirely by guys, so when there’s an attractive sexualized male character they’re “just roleplaying a power fantasy” but when there’s a sexualized female they’re “being pandered to, in a trophy wife sort of way”. And that may have been more true at one point, but games evolve, fanbases evolve, and it’s clear that the demographics and breadth of characters is totally different now. But scars heal slowly so a lot of people probably still think, consciously or subconsciously, that attractive female characters are made with bad intentions that are harmful to women. It’s incorrect, but it’s important to try to understand where the mindset comes from
Well, every freaking time I see some attempt at "black hair" in games, I see people complain that it's not good and racist. That's like a no-win situation.

I was definitely getting _"carded"_ at least part way into my 20s. My Mom passed in 2015 at the age of 96. Her hair was STLL mostly brown, and it was NOT colored or tinted. AFAIK, my Mom had one ancestor of Native American heritage. My Father may have as well, although that is DEFINITELY not certain. I say all this to highlight that SOME people can look VERY YOUNG even when they are legal adults. They can also look 'younger' well into their senior years. Just my 2¢.
You are right on with your take and people are ridiculous and the creators will have so many people that will continue to play their games and they should not care about the soft Hawaiian roll view points that just makes everyone else miserable because it’s always something that has to be made for them.
I'm swedish. people thought I was in my mid teens for most of my 20s. x-x working in customer service sometimes I was asked about my age and they were so shocked when they heard how old I was. I guess they thought it was a summer job or something xD note that I do not wear makeup, never has. I just have a natural babyface. Seeing young looking people who are actually in their late 20s isn't that weird, if you take care of your skin or if you have the right genetics or if you use makeup you might look much younger than you actually are. I love playing beautiful, hot or cute charcaters, if you get to chose between male and female I chose the avatar that looks the best to me. If a game has designs that don't appeal to me, I am much less likely to buy it. If I have to look at my character for a 50+ hour game I want myself to look good.
7:22 Same. I am NOT into dudes, but I want the dude I am role-playing as to be tall, lean, muscular. I AM Commander Shepard. Dear Bioware, DROP the political propaganda and BRING BACK ESCAPISM.
The thing that will always make these types of people lose any and all credibility is that they completely ignore the characters *themselves*. They go on about how "unrealistically beautiful" they are yet completely brush off the fact that the vast majority of the time these ladies are absolutely powerful. "We want more strong leading women in gaming!" And yet when a strong leading lady appears, these same people critique her on her looks instead of her personality or her strengths and so on. And when you point out most leading men are the picture of scantily clad perfection, they change the topic/insult you/block you. The hypocrisy is extreme here. All that said - this same statement can be given to those who only look at Aloy's appearance, call her ugly, and ignore everything else about her or her situation. A character should look and feel like what their creator and their story demands. Is the game inspired by Nier and Bayonetta? Protag's gonna be probably gorgeous but also a bamf. Is the character in a prehistoric-like setting where makeup is an extreme luxury or doesn't exist? Might be naturally beautiful at best but is more than allowed to not be. There's hypocrisy and double standards on both sides I feel, and at the end of the day I think everyone needs to just grow up and let a creator's creativity do its thing.
Okay, but Aloy, first off, already looked better in the first game, and second, somehow got fat in a prehistoric-like setting where food is scarce. So you can't cite realism when it's NOT realistic, and changing established characters because "I don't want them to look attractive," well, raises questions. I like how Morrigan had her boobs shrunk between games in Dragon Age as well.
As an Asian, Korean in particular, I am proud of both the developers of the game and the model who got her body scanned to be the character. Also, I find them saying the character can’t be real, or her looking like a child ludicrous.
As a 24 year old woman who looks and sounds a lot younger than I actually am, this is annoying. Like just the past week I was at the mall with my family, and this security guard stopped us because he thought I was a minor ( I needed an ID to get in, but I didn’t have one so he gave me an orange band) I have very fair skin, I’m short (5 foot) and petite, and I dress like a teen apparently?, I also don’t wear makeup. Is my body “Not normal” I mean…I don’t know, I have good genetics so I just look a lot younger then I actually am, people need to stop shaming others because of there body, especially women.
"Women don't look like this." If you'd put down your phone and leave your house for a while, you'd be surprised that women actually do look like this. how? they eat healthy and exercise. it's actually not a hard thing to do. many of the women in bikini photos aren't photoshopped. they really do look that good. just stop eating fast food for a while and you'll start seeing a change in your body's shape. SpongeBob said it best. "No one would want a friend as ugly as I am!" "Sure they would! It makes them look better in comparison!" If I can't be pretty, I'll make everyone else uglier than me.
Seems body positivity only works ONE way. I've noticed that too with video games. It's not always over-sexualization, sometimes it's just characters who look like well, women. Like Resident Evil & Devil May Cry.
I’m 36 and I got ID checked at a gas station I live less than a mile away from after I cut my hair and shaved. Some people just have a natural youthful look.
Short answer, yes. Yes they are saying that having normal body porportions is "not realistic". They literally cant tell the difference between "hyper proportions" vs normal porportions. Its quite sad to be honest.
Apparently she was also designed by a women. Which I find hilarious. I thought most people would be offended by summoning demons and making angels the bad guys.
That the difference between men and women. If a man character is designed sexy. Most men don't care. Even most women don't care. But when a woman character is designed sexy SO many women get offended. Them and the SJW Cultness. Which werid because they cry and say real women don't look like that. Yeah that why it a Fantasy game. Not real life.
From what I've seen, a number of people feel as though their opinions matter more than others. If a game, show or artwork isn't for you or to you're taste, that ok. It's ok not to like something. I've bounced around hobbies from TTRPG, wargaming, drawing and cars. There's many things I've tried and don't like. And that's ok, because eventually you stumble on what you DO like and the people that also like it. And that feeling is awsome.
@Ashkihyena it's pretty crazy how they say that characters is not real but it shows she based off a real model so where are they getting their information
I've seen people attack anime a few times over a few characters I mean even Uzaki was attacked because her build. One cosplayer got shamed for being a small body cosplaying tatsumaki and twitter people thought she was being Child diddler bait and she's in her 20s
People who say this "this looks like a child" are the ones you should be giving the side eye at. They are essentially reporting themselves at this point.
I don't entirely agree; there is some truth to the point that not everyone can achieve the same looks in the same way. Genetics is a thing. The most active, fit person I ever knew, who was also incredibly healthy with their diet, still had a very curvy bodytype and could not, for the life of her, get visible abs, which she wanted. Her whole family was composed of shortstacks, basically, so she would always look a little bigger, but was incredibly healthy by every objective measure. However, that movement was taken over by the very people you're talking about, yes--people discussing being a little overweight, curves, whatever, were pushed out by people wanting us to accept literally hundreds of pounds of fat as totally fine and healthy. And only women! No one defends fat men or tells women they have to be attracted to those men.
@@billjacobs521 exactly look I get it but at one point the nazi symbol represented a peace symbol in India I believe and the rainbow represented gods promise to humanity. Unfortunately the people waving those symbols and movements no longer represent either. I can understand what your talking about with my parents genetics I can work out amazingly but I probably won’t get a 6 pack or big chest like I’d want never the less that’s my goal. And unfortunately there’s no longer outliers back in the day when everyone was relatively fit if someone wasn’t you knew it’s from genetics or something out of their control. That’s not the case anymore generally they are fat lazy slobs who want to feel better about themselves without doing any of the work to get there. So yes your are right in principle but that’s not what’s being pushed or advocated.and the fact it’s really only women also lends credence to my point.
I hate takes like this, because it fails to acknowledge that body positivity problems DID (and probably still do, especially with the advent of social media) exist. Normal girls wanting to look like celebrities, who make their bodies seem normal even though they go through very specific and coached lifestyle habits to achieve those looks, and have added glamour made by experts. And the normal girls want to look like that, but can’t, and don’t know why, and they feel inferior because of it. That’s a real thing. And it took time to help them get the message that they don’t need to chase excessive celebrity standards of beauty in order to be happy with their bodies. It’s just, things eventually bled over into too much positivity and sense of entitlement. But the root of the original movement really isn’t such a bad thing.
@@emblemblade9245 I’ll respond to these takes as usual the swastika was originally a symbol meaning well being and good luck. Umm unfortunately no one conflates that with someone waving a swastika flag. The rainbow represented gods promise to never flood the earth again that’s probably not what you think of when you see a rainbow flag. The same is true for body positivity maybe it had good intentions but the body positivity movement does not mean what your describing. It’s now an excuse to be lazy fat and ugly and say your all wrong for not loving my fat ass how dare you! Look it’s unfortunate but that’s reality
My thoughts exactly!! I wonder if she got a pass because a lot of people considered her to have a non-straight orientation. That should not have any logical connection, but I feel like it might
Actually they are attacking things like pokemon or anime. People are claiming that a dark skinned pokemon character (don't remember her name I don't really follow pokemon all that much) being protrayed in bright lighting is "whitewashing", don't even get me started on all the pedophilia accusations slung at weebs or at artists online. it all comes down to these people need to stay in their lanes and not try to invade other people's spaces, all their actions are doing is encouraging mass gatekeeping.
thank you! I always thought it was crazy people complain about women who i could see at the store, but not these men who don't exist outside of the gym.
Going back to the topic of shaving the private area, some women believe men that prefer shaven is also infantilising, I just don’t want a mouth full of pubes.
Not so sure about any of it being "infantilizing", that is more the approach of those that wear diapers during that kind of "fun"... To me, it sounds a lot more like a personal issue for the "accuser". I have dated women who don't shave ANYWHERE at all... legs, armpits, whatever, and as long as it is not a gargantuan, jungle like, rat nest.... I don't mind too much. I **prefer** neat and trimmed, but am not obsessive over it... That being said... when engaging in "The Act", there is nothing worse than having an overgrown Brillo Pad chafing and scouring the sausage to the point of tenderness or weeping blood like a rug burn... That is extremely painful and highly uncomfortable for a guy and can put them entirely out of commission to the point that they cannot even put on clothing to leave the house. That has happened to me... I solved that issue by making it a "kinky adventure" the next time I was with said woman to trim those pubes to a reasonable level, not all shaved off (some definition and padding is fine), but very close in the "operational" areas... I also do not enjoy chewing on or licking tight curly hair.
9:30 Thank you, they talk so much about the design of female characters, but are nowhere to be found when it comes to the males, I don't see anyone "fixing" them, I don't see videogames coming out with the main male character looking short, overweight and unattractive, a lot of women who expect you to accept their body type no matter what pretty much always want to be with a guy who's over 6'0, skinny to in shape, handsome, and successful enough to take care of them, talk about unrealistic standards.
INTJ- I was once tolled be careful not to confuse fantasy with reality, you may jump of a roof thinking you can fly. most people don't consider the dangers of confusing reality with fantasy, I say be careful you may send a player to prison for the murder of a video game character. I was told that playing videogames would rot your mind but it's those you have no love of fantasy, that have a difficult time understanding that fantasy can't affect reality. I for one do not let fantasy dictate how I live in realty, murdering in a fantasy does not mean I'm a murder in reality, anything done in a fantasy does not mean you did it in reality. these people who worry about how fantasy females look concern me, will they send me to jail because of an imaginary character I have drawn? it can be said that fantasy can inspire reality, this isn't the same as reality.
This problem will be solved if somehow we could get the complaining women to understand that even if we removed all pretty women from the media and even the real world as well, that will not magically make them attractive. Same as with the example of... If you put obese women on the front of Sports Illustraded, it will not cause people to see obese women as sporty, it will cause Sports Illustrated to go out of business.
Something people don't give Japan credit enough is how they tend to handle female characters. And I mean TEND because there are things like *_any female character in Naruto._* But even the most basic like Dragon Ball. The smartest person on earth is a woman, and that woman can talk down to literal HYPERGODS who can erase the planet with a sneeze. One of the strongest beings on earth that isn't a god or a saiyan is n°18 (and 17 but you get my point). And that's just SHONEN. So, shows for "da bois". When we get into stuff like the Maho Shojo. We have Usagi Tsukino who easily could give a fair fight to Goku in his lastest hair dye. Or Madoka who can literally do anything with the reality itself.
My adoptive mother was one of those people who were in their 30s but looked like they were still 19-20. I myself am 19 but still look 16. People can look younger and be older than their physical age, shocker I know
If all the critic can see in an adult woman is a little girl, the critic is the problem.
I don't get it. How can a character look like a "little girl" when she's got boobs the size of watermelons?
That’s just their stupid way of trying to shut people down by saying they’re attracted to kids.
It’s also projection since that side is full of kiddy diddlers.
Lately it seems more often than not, it's telling on the critic when they see that or something like orcs are racism against black people.
And might have a questionable browser history. Sometimes the ones screaming the loudest are trying to distract people from what they’re doing
Their hate of men has made them hate women. 😂
The ultra-repressed bad guy of Hunchback of Notre Dame immediately comes to mind. XD
To be fair, Stellar Blade IS sexualized, very intentionally. And thank god, because thats exactly what i want in fantasy/scifi video game.
& they said a real woman dont look like that , so i go & watch some k.pop recently & dang , those idol are hot
If you think that attractive people look like children, that says more about you than the people who are attracted to them.
Right!!!!! That was wild! And the thing is, he could have just said his opinion without attacking everyone else

Also no other Asians would call this Korean model a "child" ....

Probably both.
Or the 3rd is they hate healthy looking woman. but ya those two are also what I've noticed as common reasons for attacking what is considered the desirable physical traits in a woman despite those traits being genuinely tied to physical maturity and health of women.
It's an ungodly combination of both and that is why I don't trust their words and neither should you.

They don’t actually think beautiful women look like children they just know that if they say that enough times they can get power and influence over the game it’s been going on in video games for a while now.
They do..
These ppl are psycho,retards.
They still haven't figured out all of their mudslinging will only generate more interest in Stellar Blade Girl. And it amazes me they're that dumb!

I fucking DESPISE that term for art. 'Fixing' the art because you deemed something so innocuous as offensive. The sheer arrogance of it is despicable.
"Fixed" is the worst thing ever happened to art. usually it is just fattening and/or black washing the character. In case of Mary Jane they were mad at a cover art showing her flexibility (just sitting with one leg ab beside her).

But with some people, it’s why a woman isn’t manly looking - literally. What happened to simpler times when body types were having to if a person had compact - short torso with long legs, balanced, or stretched - long torso with short legs body types?

9:48 THANK YOU!!!!! YES! No one talks about the MALE body types in video games. It’s only the women’s body types that are problematic.
EHHHHHH???????????? 0_0

I've seen age-gaps accused well beyond the pair in their 20s, it just happens more there from looks or it being stated more often for some reason or another.

My younger sister is one of those who looked far younger than she was, up until fairly recently. She had high school guys hitting on her well into her 30s, because they thought she was a teenager too.

It happens to me too.
I have to say: I can be your mom...literally!
I'm also 5 ft, but when I'm with my friends (same age) people think I'm someone's daughter
I'm 30 and I'm still getting ID tagged at resturants for drinks. My sister still looks like a little kid even though she's 4 years younger.

Extremely attractive women actually exist. Why don't THEY deserve 'representation' in movies and video games? 🤔
Because uggos tell us what is 'normal' now
Hopefully not much longer
It reminds me of those people who complain about a female character fighting in high heels cause it's impractical, & I'm basically like, so what if it's impractical it looks cool & bad@$$! Nobody complains when some guy (or lady as female characters can do it in Saints Row 3 & 4) lifts a freakin minigun in a video game even though it's unrealistic!
Looking at the characters women seem to like cosplaying, at least a lot of them are conventionally attractive. Maybe most.
i think i've said it before: it all came from envy. average to ugly women tend to be jealous when facing attractive women. even attractive women may get easily envious to other women who have something they don't have, such as boobs, butts, or even happy family.
this tendency is multiplied exponentially with the belief of diversity (attractiveness must be diverse, not just one category, or burn everything), equality (attractive women must be equal to me, or burn everything) and inclusion (i must be included in the attractive woman class, or burn everything)
Inclusion and diversity are the worst things to happen to society. It throws out the entire concept of Optimization.
@@Agent-57 That is a harsh statement. You are basically saying people in wheelchairs and other disorders shouldnt be part of society. Optimization is an ugly word but lets use it. As humans we should strive that people with disorders can take part in society and maybe it is that you can make the person in the wheelchair walk again and the blind see again. There is beauty in diversity and needed for example Habsburger did not divert their gens and well all of the children over time became mentally and physically retarted. You need to diversify in order to create something new.
@@Lorvay Inbreeding isn't optimizing that's quite literally the opposite of it.
Call it harsh, it's just survival of the fittest. And obesity is not the same as an amputee. An amputee cannot just regen his limbs (research on that is going on) but a fat person can lose weight.
But putting something as objective as attractiveness into diversification is plain stupid. It's not a fu**ing Avocado diet to be adding fruits in it.
Ugly will always be Ugly no matter how much they cry about it.
@@Agent-57 survival of the fittest is not even a thing in the nature. Survival of the smartest is tho, but that is another topic I wont open.
We are no animals trying to survive in the wilds anymore. We have different standards now and we can allow ourselves to have them. There is no need for survival of the fittest anymore.
I think you mean equity
Rarely do I see anyone bring up the point that a lot of pretty or super muscular guys ever get criticized for being "unrealistic". Like, let both women and men be thirsted for

Preach!
apparenlty there's this thing called the male gaze, and male gaze is bad so you have to avoid that and appeal to the female gaze and lesbian gaze, which honestly to me just sounds like cope.
@silverprimus321boi9 theres a term called lipstick lesbian too. Its women that embraces thier feminine selves.
Both men and women like to look at attractive people. Always have, always will.
I fully agree with you on this.
There people who just love to criticize everything and try to enforce their opinions and what you like is terrible and you should feel ashamed about that. I say them "who the fuck cares?"
Everybody is built slightly different and beauty is in the eye of the beholder
It’s incorrect, but it’s important to try to understand where the mindset comes from
I dont know what's funnier women complaining about other women ir the fact game developers think African American people only have one hairstyle lol
Well, every freaking time I see some attempt at "black hair" in games, I see people complain that it's not good and racist. That's like a no-win situation.

FWIW, regarding looking 'young':
I turned 63 earlier this year [2024]. I still have most of my hair, which I started wearing shoulder length or longer after retiring from the military in 2003. It is still _'mostly'_ brown, although the gray IS creeping in. {My beard started going gray sometime after I first let it grow starting in 2003.}
As a kid and a teen I looked YOUNG for my age.

In my country we call it "Bayoceta".
For anyone whos curious, change the "ayo" to "u" and google the new formed word.
And, please, +18 only.
The ….”and doing meth”, had me loosing it😂😂😂 I spit out my drink😂
Video game are meant to escape from reality and making a beautiful female's is a problem now😑😒
Which is ironic if we’re talking about Stellar Blade since that is based on a real person.
@Ashkihyena it's pretty crazy how they say that characters is not real but it shows she based off a real model so where are they getting their information
@@jwoncollier4412Out of their ass like usual.
@@Ashkihyena 🤣🤣
Actually a video game character literally talking out of their ass Kind of sounds interesting at this point😂
I've seen people attack anime a few times over a few characters I mean even Uzaki was attacked because her build. One cosplayer got shamed for being a small body cosplaying tatsumaki and twitter people thought she was being Child diddler bait and she's in her 20s
Yep this world is becoming more disappointing by the minute someone tell Noah to get the boat

Where's the blueprints? We have better technology now.

God promised Noah that he wouldn't flood the world but cleanse it with fire.
Thank You for making a level headed video covering this.
People who say this "this looks like a child" are the ones you should be giving the side eye at. They are essentially reporting themselves at this point.
Jealousy is all the body positivity movement ever was that and not wanting to hit the gym and put down the food

Right!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 You really stuck on the private hair huh? It's a decent question 😂
I don't mind a little hair but they better clean it and keep it kept tidy cause god damn!@@Alteori
The thing is they say it is good cause it prevents germs or something and protects the genitilia.
@@Alteori i’m tempted to make it a running joke 😄
Western AAA devs just want every female character to look like Debra Willson, she's in like every AAA game.
Who DAT?
My sister married a Korean. That guy is like 4 years older then me, but he looks like 3 years younger.

Thank you, they talk so much about the design of female characters, but are nowhere to be found when it comes to the males, I don't see anyone "fixing" them, I don't see videogames coming out with the main male character looking short, overweight and unattractive, a lot of women who expect you to accept their body type no matter what pretty much always want to be with a guy who's over 6'0, skinny to in shape, handsome, and successful enough to take care of them, talk about unrealistic standards.
Those "Unachievable" body types, exist in this world, on healthy people, some people just have the best Genes, and I WILL BUY THAT CONTENT.

*_Power fantasies are a essential aspects of videogames_* .
Although, the latest character design for wonder woman, is extraordinarily beautiful.
I am unwavering on this.
Agreed. Couldn't even play the latest mortal kombat game due to how awful some of the girls aredrawn
Men didn't complaiin about 50 shades of grey being sold in front of walmart but darn it we can can't have our jiggle, physics.
If it's square, it's fair...
if it's stick, do a trick...
if it's round, hide the food way up from the ground.

“Everyone has a positive body, but some bodies are more positive than others.”
I'm glad someone is looking at this as a video game and…. Not reality. Thanks for outlining this.
My adoptive mother was one of those people who were in their 30s but looked like they were still 19-20. I myself am 19 but still look 16. People can look younger and be older than their physical age, shocker I know
