    What a awesome Idea Dutch! That new feeder is way better then the old one you made with the container. Ill be showing my brothers this, they have over 500 quail.

    Hey Dutch! The new feeder is great! You don't have to cut holes in your cage. There are three holes in your cages now. IF you want to free up some floor-space within the cage, try mounting your feeder on the outside and positioned by the large opening in the cage...but leave enough room to get in and out still.

      Looks nice Dutch . You may want to make it with smaller pcp pipe given your cages are pretty small. I have seen some folks take entertainment centers put mesh wire on them made awesome breeder cages for there Quail u have to fix the bottoms of the cage so u can clean with ease. Thanks for sharing your quail adventure . Looking forward to Kevin's turkeys hatching.

    Nice and thank you. That saved a bunch of money on feed. I built a 3" feeder like you showed as well as a 2" feeder. Both of them work better than anything else I've tried. I'm thinking about making the chickens one - they're not as wasteful as quail but they still scatter a lot of feed.

    • @MickSupper
      @MickSupper 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      3" looks overkill. Seems like a 2" feeder would work just as well.

    Love this! This is exactly the kind of feeder I was thinking of making for my quail, I'm going for minimal waste, but also an automatic feeder I can let sit for a couple of days for when I go out of town! Now to try to figure out incorporating this type of design, but for a stacked cage system. May just need a couple of more elbows. Lol

    Those are sweet!! And if someone wanted a larger one with like 8 holes, you could use 45 degree turns on each end and a double 45 in the center with a third upright so you can fill three different places and put 4 holes on each side between the center upright and the end uprights. And using the 45's it would move more food toward the holes than the 90's do. Cool feeder Dutch!

    Many thanks for your well presented video -- I have just made a no mess quail feeder based on your idea --- I made a slightly different version in that I connected a T - Part Gutter Piece to the gutter feeder downpipe at the bottom and then connected two short pieces off gutter pipes to both sides of the T Part Pipe and then drilled the feeder holes on either side afterwards --- the advantages being the food will fall down either sides of the T Part Pipe afterwards and it also takes up less viewing space than the idea you had off having two pipes going down to the bottom feeder pipe --- also it has a nice symmetrical appearance ( one thing I have not tested it yet as I am still in the process off building the cage but I am sure it will work well )otherwise well done for a clever idea -- Norman England
