My 2005 GX470, So Cal, Palm Desert car, is still completely rust free, not even surface rust in the undercarriage even to this day. I am still impressed by how well it held up. Only things that need replacing are the rubber window moulding and rear air suspension bags since they crack and break apart after a decade or so. Same with my LX570. My 99 4Runner on the other hand had some surface rust, but that is easily treated. It all comes down how well the owners take care of their vehicles.

I bought a friends 'baby', a 2008 ES350, absolute showroom, and now only 32000 miles. Looks like the same color, had all the options, just an excellent vehicle and smells like brand new inside. I did have my classic car restorer/mechanic friend change the oil line that had the rubber hose part way, to the all steel line, from watching one of your videos! Thank you. It also looked brand new as does pretty much everything else. Doesnt see snow, and rarely rain. Our 'beater' is a 2006 Avalon limited with only 70 000 miles! Gets mid 30s on the highway, both have the 2grfe engines, and both ride great and super quiet. Avalons a 5 speed, Lexus is a 6.

Please, pretty please when you talk about awesomeness of GX 470/GX460 please whisper, so others will not know and let’s keep this as top secret! I owned a 2008 Lexus GX470 for almost 8 years, bought it with low mileage only 29,800 miles. Currently, my tank (GX470) has around 138,500 miles. Only the alternator has failed in those almost 8 years of ownership! Have kept up with the preventative maintenance to avoid serious problems in the future. Change the motor oil with original Toyota 5W-30 every 5,000 miles religiously. I am very happy with my Lexus truck. Will keep this truck as long as I can and eventually will buy another used GX truck, probably a Gx460. Will not sell my GX470 even if I get a used GX460.

    Hi
Another great video, I do the same if I have a missing clip. My ocd is so bad it annoys me if my rav 4 is dirty.
Best wishes Dave a fellow car care nut in the uk 🇬🇧 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Have you driven the new models? HOW they compare to the older models. Is the newer model nosier with tire and wind noise?

I have a 2004 LS 430 with 268,000 on the clock. I do my own work and maintenance. It has no leaks. Uses no oil at 6000 mile interval oil changes. Man I love it.

I've got a 1989 Mazda that uses zero oil after over 300,000 km's.. no big deal.

Dear Author I love your job and the content you create - professional and educative. I have the very same car as in that video and my KDSS has got a lean to the right hand side.
Could you please make a video about KDSS and it's common problems. I live in Australia and I struggle to find a good KDSS specialist in my area. Thanks a lot. Take care. 👍

Stunner of a car for sure. I’d be afraid to get sit in that white interior too…should come with a warning sticker: “No kids. No dogs. No food. No drinks.” Very pretty tho….

AMD, Congratulations on passing 350,000 SUBSCRIBERS👏👏👏👏 As much as I admire this luxurious Lexus GX, I prefer its poor brother the Prado. Just give me one with a simple 2.7 engine, base suspension and humble cloth interior and I will be just fine. 😁😁

I bought a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS (w/AWD, 3.5L V6) in July 2020 with under 18,000 miles. I keep her very clean and well maintained. Now...that being said there's one car I really want, well there's several, but the one car I would like to own is a late-00's/early-10's Lexus LS460 or LS460L. The ES350's are nice, but they're basically Avalons which isn't bad either. I'm partial to the 2011/2012 Avalon face-lift.

    Hello Amd,
Congrats on opening the new shop. I have a question about the thermostat bypass that you mentioned you need to press when servicing the transmission. My 18 GX460 has that. I did the fluid change but didn’t know i had to worry about that part. How do you change trans fluid with that thermostat present?? Thank you

Hey AMD. Thanks for another great video! I have GX460 just like this one with a KDSS leak at the front. I know you covered it a bit in your 4runner vids. Any chance you will take a deep dive into the KDSS system? How to tackle this leak? Is this a possible DIY? Thanks!

It’s incredible that is doesn’t even have a single ding for that year. How is that even possible?
I’ve gotten dings from the dealer when my vehicle was new and was forced to take it there. And, got dings at the grocery store even though I parked far away, and there’s always that one person who wants to park next to you even with 100 empty spots around.
That owner must of been lucky. Incredible find!
