The GX460 is known as the Land Cruiser Prado or Land Cruiser outside of America, depends on which country. Most people in America call it a rebadged or the Lexus version of the 4runner, which it's not, the 4runner doesn't have the barn door like the GX460. The premium would have air suspension toggles next the the shifter, or above the high and low 4 toggle, along with TVs behind the driver and front passenger headrest.
In 2010-13 there were only 2 main trims for the GX460. Base and Premium. This is a base because the trim on the rear side window doesn't go up the window...only along the bottom. Also it doesn't have front headlight sprayers. This also means it won't have the air bags on the rear suspension, rear overhead air vents or the rear heated seats. It IS however a great starting point to build an offroad/overland vehicle because it is more basic. Besides those details..great review. Also..I own a '13 premium and have owned a'12 4runner....there is more headroom in the GX for a 6'2" person in the driver seat.

I wanted to test drive a Lexus real bad and I was hoping the salesman at the dealership would've offered lol. He did not... I want to know what the big difference is between luxury car and mainstream car
@@MeynMotorGroup yeah the unfortunate thing for me is we have one Lexus dealership within reasonable distance of where I live and it is a great dealership, but I'm not the kind of person to ask to drive a car I know I'm not going to buy because that's someone else's car that they just don't own yet. But if I'm OFFERED... hell yeah I'm driving that bitch

@@leldridge302 Even though it had great service record, and drives almost as good as a newer one I couldn't do it for the same reason that you passed. I almost did it because it was being sold by a reputable Lexus dealership, the 190k scared me a little. But much of my research into the engine and the parts manufacturer for most the parts that comprise these vehicles, with proper maintenance these are half million mile vehicles. So if I can find a well maintained one with under 150k, I'll probably bite.
My what an outstanding vehicle! I'm impressed with that Lexus that's for sure! Listen, traded in my 2017 Mazda6 for a 2016 Subaru WRX, kept that for about 6 weeks but got tired of the manual so I traded her in for a 2013 Acura RDX & man o man is it awesome!! Got it for $19, 800 with 74, 000 miles in mint condition. As a matter of fact the tech told my salesman while he was balancing the wheels that he wanted to get my Acura for his mom! I saw one online in an adjacent city for $18, 400 with 70,000 miles but it was black & mine is champane silver which I like better because it's easier to maintain.( Trying to make myself feel better i guess)! Liking the new 2019's but it has a 2.0 turbo & mine has the 6- 3.5 engine that really hauls ass! I would like to get the 2019 but I guess I'll have to wait until it's 6 yrs old like this one that I just bought. That's the way it is with us poor folks, but for now it's ALL GOOD!!! Keep up the good work!!
Hey Greg thanks for stopping by, yea the V6 RDX really does get up and move it is not to be underestimated haha. I haven’t driven the new one but I have heard amazing things about the 2019 RDX and apparently it’s faster but I really like that V6 legitimately fast. Enjoy the ride man and yea we gotta wait for big depreciation to hit lol no worries tho great car 👍
I thought it's recommended, not required. Think about it, premium gas maybe recommended for lexus lx 570 (383hp)? But toyota tundra (381hp) has the same engine v8 5.7L. And nobody is putting premium gas in tundra.. Fourt generation 4runners had an optional the same v8 4.7L engine like 2003-2009 lexus gx 4.7L. I don't think anybody was putting premium in v8 4runner?:) those are toyota's engines.
Premium fuel required for optimal performance regular is not recommended in the long run even if used you will feel that the engine performance and fuel economy lost is worth it so stick with owners manual recommendation

I don’t think that’s the Premium model. Great video tho thanks!!
I wanted to test drive a Lexus real bad and I was hoping the salesman at the dealership would've offered lol. He did not... I want to know what the big difference is between luxury car and mainstream car
Lol I hate it when they do that 😂 I guess you can try another dealer
@@MeynMotorGroup yeah the unfortunate thing for me is we have one Lexus dealership within reasonable distance of where I live and it is a great dealership, but I'm not the kind of person to ask to drive a car I know I'm not going to buy because that's someone else's car that they just don't own yet. But if I'm OFFERED... hell yeah I'm driving that bitch
Hahahahaha yup that’s exactly how I feel that’s why I don’t really like doing new car reviews at dealerships. I don’t mind driving used cars tho at dealerships as they already have the miles on them so it doesn’t matter. But I try to keep the miles to a minimum regardless
@@argentumboyle249 well then 🥴
Hey folks! Thinking of buying a 2015 with 212k. Thoughts?
Did you get it? I was looking at a 2014 with 190k at the same time you posted
@@spacecowboy3456 I didn’t end up getting it. I couldn’t bring myself to do it with 212k. I also wasn’t sure how it was cared for previously so I did not want to risk it. Did you get the 2014 with 190k?
Is this not the same motor from the LS 460? The output is low at 301 hp.
Yea it's heavily detuned but you know it's gonna last like a diesel because of that
Do a review on the sc430! Please!
I will try to get that car!
@@MeynMotorGroup your reviews are solid on, that would be amazing!
I’m humbled by that my friend
@@MeynMotorGroup dude, you took too long. I ended up getting one.
You bought an SC?
Hi, could you do a review of the Lexus IS 300 , 2008 model please? Best,
Will try my best to my friend if I ever find one!
Review a gx470 please
Does it take premium gas?
Yes! Definitely, it is required
@Jurgen I yea you guys are right I do realize that they are Toyota engines, but hey I just do what Lexus tells me haha
Premium fuel required for optimal performance regular is not recommended in the long run even if used you will feel that the engine performance and fuel economy lost is worth it so stick with owners manual recommendation
Yup I always stick to what the owners manual recommends
Id honestly buy this car if it wasnt for the headlights looking cross eyed
It’s a land cruiser prado
Yes
Yes same body but Premium look with v8 engine
What TH-cam car reviewer hesitant to say anything even vaguely negative they “review”. It comes disingenuous when they’re working for TH-cam algorithm not legit views.
I don’t understand what you are saying but God Bless you my friend and I do indeed love you very much.
@@MeynMotorGroup Disingenuous then sarcasm. Another reply opportunity to you to up your points in engagement scores. Here’s for the algorithm, my brother 😎
