My family shares food all the time. Sometimes my friends and I as well, especially pre-pandemic. Sharing food with family isn’t weird at all.

17:17 I kinda had a similar experience last year, I believe. I had a house I grew up in, from newborn to the age of 9. It was then sold to someone else. Last year, there was an open house. My mom, sister, and I all visited. Fortunately, the results were opposite of the post. All nicely painted and clean. And the basement was turned into some kind of recording studio, including a booth that used to be my mom's office. Her old desk was still there. The realtor said that the room was built around the desk, which is untrue. The desk was heavy and convoluted to move if you didn't know how it worked. There were hints of the old house there, especially a crafted sign on the way into the basement that my ex-dad made. I think it said, "Welcome." None of us told the realtor that we used to own it, and mom thought that they were charging too much for it. She would know the house better than my sister and I, but that was back in 2007. The economy is very screwed, and inflation continues to skyrocket.
I struggle with holding my tongue. I would've had to correct the misinformation about the desk.

I had seen and heard all these things when I first started watching HP and went in expecting/looking for it. But I really didn't see any of that, idk maybe it's a book only thing, but the whole point system feels like it became entirely irrelevant after like the first movie, and even then it feels like they just lost a lot of points for their antics. Could be that the worker in the coffee shop didn't really care that much and never really thought about it. Took me like a month of working at Chipotle to find out that not only do they offer quesadillas, but also quesaritos. Obviously there's the stuff there to make them, and the quesadilla is on the online menu (if you order one in store it'll take longer than a burrito but you can still get it), I just didn't think about it.
Quesadillas are the same price as any meat you'd get, the quesarito is an extra like $3.50, takes a few minutes longer to make since you need to wait for the cheese to melt, and I don't think it's really worth it when you could just ask for cheese on the bottom for it to melt and if there's no one behind you (and you didn't get it overstuffed) ask for it to be put in the press afterwards
I work on a drinks department at a supermarket, but the customers really expect all of us to know everything about the entire store and the seperate warehouse department that has its own crew. Bro, i've been here for 6 months and there are thousands of things in the store and dozens upon dozens of diffrent articles on my department alone. Even people who worked here for over 10 years still have to check just to make sure. If i had to remember everything, i would actually go insane

IQ tests are heavily math and logic based, and so are the sciences. I'd recommend that person get a tutor and practice those math skills! Most people can improve their math and logic skills, even if it doesn't come easily. Someone in public education in a western country who's like 14+ and only pulled off a 69 IQ is likely not a genius, but probably could get into the "average" range (85-115) with practice.

I also do this with my sister, we share alcoholic drinks to taste what the other has and have regularly swapped pieces of our meals with eachother. sometimes we get one big meal and just share that since neither of us are big eaters anyway

My family swaps food sometimes at restaurants too- we'll trade some broccoli for an extra roll maybe, or a bit of chicken for a bite of salmon. Less than a week ago my bro and I traded a little of my orange chicken for a bite of his egg foo young so we could each try the other's dish. Sharing drinks is less common, and is usually prefaced by "go ahead, I don't have anything" because yeah, sharing germs IS what we're leery of there. But as long as no one feels sick we'll still do it when we have reason to.

Unless your family member is sick you literally have nothing to worry about doing that. The overwhelming vast majority of germs on your body are on the inside so unless they're coughing all over your food or anything similar you're not likely to catch anything.
In Europe and Asia it is common to share food, even with your coworkers. Only ocassion that sharing is prohibited is when a higher up in the company chain is present. Over here most restaurants even offer menus for 2-8 people, where everyone can try everything, and both Asia and Europe have a weird tradition (most people no longer do it, because they find it gross) of eating from the same pot, be it broth or soup. I think it is even common in South America, but I am not sure, since I never was there. So it is just North America and maybe the UK being the odd ones out.

Something similar happened to my old house. Instead of it being an air bnb though, it was destroyed for a short time. The people who moved in after my family left were clearly a rocky couple. An old neighbour told my mum that they heard shouting and glass shattering from the house a lot and lots of fighting. The house is nice now, they redid it I think and it looks much better than what it did when we lived there.

The latte guy I was imagining as that guy in shorts that always pretends to be a redditor and it just makes the whole interaction so much worse. Was just oozing "I'm better than you" vibes. Also, an iced latte or a hot latte with ice both have the same amount of coffee, it's just the hot latte would have a lower ratio. All that extra time and social awkwardness just to get a weak coffee that's still just hot with some ice cubes in it. Next time order a damn iced latte like a normal person
But the ice takes room away in the iced latte...and since the hot latte is just the liquid and the ice gets added afterwards wouldn't there be more coffee?

I hate to tell on myself this way, but I totally believe the Iced Late guy. I'm the "No whip. No foam" guy. Realized I was missing out on a significant amount of coffee to make room for a bunch of fluff. I just got OFF work. I have time for this. Yeah...kinda found my inner Karen, but the barista decided this was the time to dig in his heels, and not just fix the order. I'm barely making ends meet, and I need all the breve I can get ok! Next time through the drive up, I put in my usual order, and I heard the dude in the background tell the girl "Don't f with that guy. It's not worth it." I felt a bit proud, but then brain entered the chat and said to me "Wait...F was part of it before? You're messing with peeps orders on purpose??" I kept Karen in the bottle. They made my drink mostly right. I just started going to another Starbucks. Got to talking with the staff over there, and they said I should go to the first one because it was closer. I said it was worth the extra distance to have my drink made right without people messing with me or arguing. Girl behind the counter got real interested in my story. Turns out she's co-owner of both stores, and has had complaints about the staff there before. She fired the whole damn crew. Yikes. They messed with my coffee, but they messed with her bottom line.
That's not even being a karen, you made a completely reasonable request. As someone who has done customer service, i get it sucks but just fixing the order when you're asked really isn't that hard.
like i get the whole "tHe cUsToMeR iS aLwAyS rIgHt" thing can be grating but this isnt even a difficult request
dude just wanted a cup of coffee not half a cup and then the staff KEPT ON messing with em which is horribly immature so dont feel that bad about them loosing their jobs. It mightve been the thing to help set them straight

if a restaurant has straws ill use mine to try one of my family's drinks if they offer but i wouldnt drink out of their cup directly, but sharing food absolutely. its the same food. there is no difference to if i had ordered the dish except its sitting about half a meter away from me, but now i get to try a bunch of nice food in one evening and as a bonus i know for sure what i wanna have next time i go there
I have seen a post detailing the ending of SW ep3 in this format and it is the funniest shit i've read in my life. At first you have no idea what the hell is going on as the post refers to Anakin as 'some emo kid' and this goes on until you slowly start to realize that the entire scene feels familiar and then it clicks its freaking Star Wars.
