Thank you, my workmate gifted me a juggling ball as new year gift and I promised to perform on next Friday which is tomorrow. I can't even play with one ball before watching your video and now I am doing much better and feeling confident. I am not yet perfect but I can say that I will make him happy tomorrow, all thanks to you. I will love to practice more and feel happy knowing that I learned a new skill. Thank you for making this video
Just saw a TED speech from a brain scientist who did a speech on brain learning using juggling. 10/15/20 minutes a day, like 5 days a week. Hours and hours will just burn you out. I enjoy practicing in front of the sofa or my bed (which will catch most your drops). 30 days to learn a 3 ball cascade is typical.
Been struggling a little but this helps with the scoop motion. I'm learning with tennis balls which I know isn't ideal, but can't switch or it throws off my timing. I hope to use pickleballs one day but they really take off if they touch each other.
Thanks for this tutorial. After 2 months and mant hours of practice i can juggle! But i plateau at 10 seconds before dropping. How long for fluency and any tips?
Is the ball spinning, like rolling off your fingers? Or do you sort of push it up? I keep looking for a teacher with a pattered ball so I can see if it’s spinning or not. And R E A L L Y slow motion would help!
That is a great observation, our brains do some pretty amazing math when we juggle, just by seeing the ark of the balls at the top of their flight, our brains are able to calculate where our hand should go to be able to catch it.
@@circusmadesimple I keep thinking back to my basketball days when I would go up for a jumpshot, and out of nowhere a hand would appear trying to block it. In midair with no time to "think," my brain would make an instantaneous adjustment, calculating a new trajectory, communicate that to my hand and my shot would arc over the hand coming towards me, with just enough added or subtracted force to get the ball in the net. Amazing what our brains can do when we quit "thinking."
This is helpful, I want to finally learn. Do you recommend using balls first or items like those light material squares that float so I have more time to get the rhythm?
That's a great question! There are some different opinions on this, but I definitely recommend starting directly with balls. Scarves, though they do move slower and can be good for understanding the crossing pattern, they require a different motion with your hands to catch them that In my opinion is unhelpful and can make it harder when transitioning to balls.
I've got a question about the hand's skill of throw. So my priority hand is a right hand like I use the pen to write with that hand. However, my left hand isn't good at throwing, as it passed right to my right arm fast, how can I solve that problem?
KaTray, Great question. This is a common problem people struggle with when learning. I have found the best thing to do is always to take a step back and practice with just 1 ball, throwing back and forth. It can be boring, but it is helping build up the muscle memory in your left hand so that you won't have to think about it so hard when you move back to 2 or 3 balls. Another thing that can be helpful is to practicing throwing all 3 balls, like you would to start juggling, but don't catch them. let them all hit the floor. only focus on making those throws from each hand. do that for a while and then go back to trying to catch them. I will be making a video soon, addressing a lot of common problems people have when learning. I will make sure to touch on this subject in that video!
Tennis balls by themselves are too light, they tend to bounce off of your hands which makes learning harder. The ones I'm using in this video are actually modified tennis balls though. I have a video teaching how to make them, as well as 2 other methods. th-cam.com/video/NiMLIPobukQ/w-d-xo.html
I am really frustrated I have to say and I have watched many tutorials and I can do three balls but I don’t understand how to get past that point because once that ball lands in my hand on top of the other ball I don’t understand what to do next because obviously when you’re doing the pattern a ball never lands on top of the another ball in your hand so I don’t get how to get past the three balls after I have that third boll land on top of the other ball in my hand. Please help I really want to get this
@@hadronic I have progressed to catching 4 balls finally and sometimes I get to 5 balls in the sequence but I am up till now still struggling. I go back to earlier patterns so I’m not doing the same thing over and over all the time. I am determined and make sure to practice every day. Just keep it up.
@@tudaisey I guess being determined is the most important thing. I'm very impatient so I already feel like giving up after a couple of days since it feels impossible to get more than 3 in a row. Gotta keep trying I guess.
I have the problem that I can't continue the loop. I stop after 3 balls. If I just try to think about how to continue, I can't throw even one ball xD I will try the stuff from the video and see if it gets better - thanks!
I always wondered why my balls were trying to go forward instead of up (goodness that sounded like a double entendre). Now I know! I'm using bean bags to try and learn with. Is that okay?
Hey thats awesome! glad I was able to help. Yeah, bean bags work great, so long as they have a decent weight to them. Balls that are super light can be more difficult to juggle. If you do want to try something else though, I do have a tutorial on 3 different methods of making your own. 2 different bean bag style and also the ones that I used in this video. th-cam.com/video/NiMLIPobukQ/w-d-xo.html
This is the easiest to follow tutorial for juggling I’ve came across. I’m starting of as a clown and this is just terrific for the help. Thank You

Than U for the film !!!!!! mi problem is that I find dificult to do mor than 3 throws till 3 troous evirithing in fain. Wat do U saggest????
Thanks you have the best tutorial!
One thing I noticed is he doesn't watch his hands. He only sees the ball when its at its apex, at or above his forehead.

Looks like the balls have some weight. Can I just use tennis balls, or are they too light?
