For me PO 42 cal 8500 is the ultimate contemporary Bond’s watch. And I eventually bought it. Fantastic time piece. Also have 41mm 8500 aquaterra, it is my first Omega. Looks great but surprisingly looks bigger on the wrist than the PO 42. Great content, keep on doing it!
Thanks! Glad you liked it, I hope to be able to get the watches together to do a hands on version for the Brosnan era, as well as putting together for Dalton, Connery, Moore and Lazenby :)
That’s the man himself, great vid bro, guess it really was warm in the complete set up. Good to see all the Craig watches bro, my favourite is the regular PO to be honest. It’s a great watch especially on the rubber
Yeah man....way too hot to film in a full suit and with my AC broken...i would have been sweating by the 5 minute mark 😂 I agree with you on the PO, i think its the one that most suits his James Bond & the one that really stood out during his time
To be honest there I have to give credit to Omega & their coordination with the makers of the movie & Daniel Craig himself, even though I think the Seamaster 300M perfectly matched Pierce Brosnan's bond, the Omega partnership during Daniel Craig's tenure was clearly well throught out as his charcter involved and just felt like so much more than a straight up product placement
Nice vid, as usual. To me, the PO 42mm is the Craig's bond watch, it just makes more sense. The spectre 300 is really an important piece though, marking the revival of the traditional seamaster look. The NTTD is a bit silly to my eyes, fauxtina on the modern design of a Smp 300 is not what I would imagine 007 wearing.
All good watches in my eyes. I like to imagine that James Bond would wear any Omega. That’s what I think about when I put on my silver dial/blue bezel seamaster 300. I like in Alaska and I like to think that’s what he would wear in Alaska
@Marvin I agree, the PO is the Omega that I most associate with Daniel Craig's James Bond - while the others all made narrative sense and I like that Omega added some more diversity to their placement so they could move with the character's narrative arc, if I had to pick just one watch to represent Daniel Craig's Bond it'd be the Planet Ocean @Watch & Unwind Daniel Craig actually did wear the Silver/Blue one as part of a promo for it when it was first released, wearing his Bond tux & all, so maybe he didn't wear it in the movies, but still Bond wearing it ;)
You know that Daniel Craig co-designed the NTTD... So I'm pretty sure it's a watch he saw himself wearing, and he designed it to fix the issues he believed were associated with the Planet Ocean. Pretty much what happened is the opposite of what you've suggested.
Great vid bro. DG is my all-time fav Bond. Loved the grit, ruggedness, and toughness he brought to the character. I had the 2001 version of the Aqua Terra he wore in Spectre, but I sold it years ago. Been thinking for a while now about getting the updated version he wears in the movie. You just convinced me to get it. :)
Nice :D Glad i could help. The AT is such a great allrounder, and IMO flies under the radar compared to the Speedmaster & the SMP that usually get most people's attention. Are you thinking of getting the blue dial too, or maybe one of the other colors?
Great video. Very well gathered information as always. Digging deeper than most of these channels are willing to go. The beginning segment was 🔥as well.
Great video Shah! I just got the New NTTD Omega Bond watch with the Titanium bracelet.. IMHO it's the best 300m Omega has ever produced.. Perfect size, light, most advanced movement with the METAS MASTER CERTIFICATION, and the titanium bracelet, OMG.. AMAZING! super comfy and easy to adjust.. a true work of art.. it was a real Joy to wear the watch while watching the NEW NTTD movie.. plus I got the New Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope 43mm with the Panda dial.. which I lovingly call it the " COKE ZERO ".. and I'm truly enjoying and loving them both.. thanks for the awesome content brother 🙂👍
Oh nice! Congratulations on getting the NTTD and having it in time to watch the movie - apparently they're getting harder to find since the watch was so popular. Can't say I'm surprised though, I really think its one of the best thought-out special edition Bond watches & I'm glad they actually used it in the film (and found a cool way to highlight its antimagnetism). And that Chronoscope is a beauty, TBH i've never been thaaat tempted for a Speedmaster since I already have my Seamaster, but the Chronoscope has really tempted me to break my whole one brand one watch rule 😂 Hope you enjoy both watches for years to come!
That first planet ocean he wore on the 45 case got gifted to him with some text from the bond producers, he said there were 3 or so of these watches split between him and the stuntmen, in my eyes this is a true bond watch and really looks the part. Daniel Craig said if he had to pick one watch out of all of them to keep it would be this watch as this movie changed his life and this watch reminds him off that.
@@anthonyonline4740 Watch the video, it prompted a discussion on which watch is the actual James Bond watch out of all of them, I added to the conversation, what are you doing?
For me the blue SMP 300 from CR is no.1. In fact it has cought my attention when I watched the movie and right now the SMP is on my wrist. In my opinion the 2220.80 is the perfect mix of comfort and wearability of the Brosnan SMP and more refined appearance and modern movement technology of the newer SMP models. The first generation of the Planet Ocean is a bit bigger and heavier and was in my opinion a really good choice for a more action oriented Bond like Craig. The way he dresses at the beginning of CR, not seriously caring if he blends into the crowd or not, they could have given him a PO with an orange bezel. I find 45.5mm too big for the three hand PO so my no.2 pick is the 42mm PO from QoS. I owned this one as well but handed it over to my father when I went after the PO chronograph (yes, 45.5mm and yes, orange bezel).
I love and have owned pretty much all of them. With that being said, after owning a dozen Seamasters, Planet Oceans, etc... The only one I have left is the 2531.80 - Bronson Era Seamaster because it is thin and IMHO wears the best with the NTTD comfort a close second. Great video!
Yeah, the 2892 based SMP300M has such a nice thin profile - i love the display backs on the new ones but that plus the movement itself adds too much thickness. I do agree with you the NTTD is a great looking watch though, and the closed caseback helps it claw back some thinness to get closer to the Brosnan era dimensions :)
I have the Goldeneye 300M and the Casino Royale Special edition PO. Love them both, I really like the Seamaster 300 and Aqua Terra too but the wife would kill me....
DC is my favourite Bond and Casino Royale my favourite movie,so i have the regular 45.5mm Seamaster PO with black rubber strap(I do have the bracelet as well, though prefer the screen accurate strap).I think it defines his portrayal of Bond the most, tough, durable and rough around the edges.I love it.
Great vid. PO 42 Skyfall with rubber strap is #1. Seamaster 300 41 with steel bracelet is absolutely gorgeous and is #2. 233 ref not new 234. Love the look and feel. Really like Bronson Seamaster, but don't have original subtle wave dial which is the best looking. Think new wave is too pronounced.
I agree with the new wave, somehow it’s too sporty, and yeah the original 42mm PO is great, I wish they still made it as thin as that one - I love the new POs (especially the GMT) but with the modern movements they’re all too thick for me 😕, but the original one with the 2500 was perfect
Hello ! Nice video ! Well the Seamaster No time to die is the top one. This watch is absolutely fabulous !! Behind this beauty I’ll place the PO 42mm without any contest, it’s THE watch I’m actually searching to add to my collection, fantastic piece. In 3rd position the Seamaster 300 unlimited but not in Nato, steel on Steel ! Then the AQUA TERRA and the PO 45 at last cause it’s too large.
While I’ve always loved James Bond, I’ve never cared what watch he wore. Still don’t. But I saw Aqua Terra in tje video title and I’m in love with the 42mm in the light blue. Anyway, as always both entertaining and informative.
The Aqua Terra's a great piece and a solid allrounder, I'm surprised it took Omega 3 movies before they put it on Bond's wrist - given that his Bond never did any full on diving, the 150M would have been more than enough and it still functioned as a dress watch or casual watch, but then again I guess as part of the character's evolution it did make sense when they did introduce it. Glad you liked the video :)
They really are good watches, fantastic allrounders and value is still reasonable on all of them when you consider what a complete package they each offer. I'd recommend the movies too, though admittedly I still prefer the older James Bond movies :)
I know that there is an evolution, that Daniel Craig reinterpreted the Bond character, "modernized" it etc etc etc... But I still prefer Pierce Brosnan 😄😄 and the Seamaster 300m 😄😄😄 Jokes (but not so much) aside, my favorite Daniel Craig Bond watch it is the Planet Ocean! About the latest one I do not like the milanese bracelet... I just cannot like that type of bracelet 😄
I have to admit it - Brosnan was the first Bond I saw in the cinema in my twenties, and I think I still prefer the Brosnan blend of two parts gentleman / one part badass (amicable, not aloof). But having said that, although his Seamaster 300 was technically high quality as well as being the kind of thing a fictionalized M16 might actually issue its agents, I can’t personally get behind a watch with a quartz movement . . . Also interesting to note - if the quartz Seamasters _are_ M16-issued, as Trevelyan claims in _GoldenEye,_ then this isn’t what Bond would wear of his own volition. He might therefore go in for something totally different in private life . . . 🤷♂️
@Ruben sin duda, uno de los mejores momentos en lo cual que James Bond claramente define su preferencia entre los dos jaja @Watch & Unwind for sure, got to love Omega making sure that Bond's clear on what his preference is ;)
Definitely the NTTD is my favorite, the caliber and its certifications, the sand color, the inscriptions, the bracelet, in short the set makes me lean towards that model, being that I always preferred the PO to the SM, this one is great on time.
I agree, I think as special editions go Omega really did a great job in making the NTTD feel special and different enough from the regular SMP300M to justify the higher price and "special" status. I like also how they managed to integrate it into the movie and how Daniel Craig had a lot more input on what they included in it, it seems definitely like the type of watch his character would wear :)
Managed to get a QOS Planet Ocean lent in for review, it's a great watch and really reflects Bond's character arc at that point in the series. Here's the link if you want to see it :) th-cam.com/video/cAzWJwQKOz8/w-d-xo.html
