I absolutly love this game from ground up. The graphic style it has, the music is legendary and gives it real sence of battle along side. The variations of battle that can happen and the tactics needed to win give it the edge from other games, even with its age. The difficulty is rough but not impossible, and the story is outstanding. Been playing this now for years and I am still learning new things about it, and playing the different styles you can have with unions and Rush. Second to none.
What i really like about Last Remnant is how the songs play right on the time, changing according to the morale. that is so unique and superb!! and of course of the tactical strategy that you need to lay out to win
talking about battlecry... my favourite is Emma's: "Finish them OFF!" and "Crush their flank!" she's awesome, a mother and a knight.. yeah she's kicking a!
one of my favorite battle system, you really have to have some strategy after a while (when you possess at least 3 squadron). The japanese dub is just pure win.
I played this game by accident when it first came out. I thought it was kinda like a warfare like CoD since remnant usually means what's left. So I thought maybe it's about some soldiers who were left behind to face impossible odds. But when I saw Square Enix logo during the startup, I was excited. Definitely one of the best RPG ever made. Even the soundtracks are memorable and in its own class. The formations are quite strategic and you'll have to know which formation is best suited to face certain types of enemy attacks. I really felt like a commander/general of an army 🤣
@@Slodsworth The PC version was the better of the two (X360/PC) as it was more complete and not to mention the battles were harder. I dislike that SQEnix screws over newer PC/XBox players by making TLR a PS4 exclusive not to mention a Unreal 4 remake, which I'm curious how it would look like on the PC myself. Hope SQEnix will rerelease it as the PC version has been removed from steam, unless you own the game.
Last Remnant solved what most RPGs had problems with. They scaled monster levels with character levels. Grinding only made things harder and that's why this game is a true challenge.
I like how the music connects to the flow of the combat, I'd like for the game to be re-released with a solution to the graphics lagging though, it would help in the long run and it wouldn't make me feel like the game is about to crash whenever it ceases up.
I just discovered that the guy who wrote the soundtrack is one of the guitarists from the Black Mages! Bought this soundtrack yesterday, FUCK YEAH!!! "Let's Kick Some A"
There needs to be a sequel to this game. I think the only reason why it didn't do so well is because of the shoddy 360 launch getting a lot more attention than the more polished PC port.
Love this game's mechanics. In a way it makes more sense going around with a small band of people on your quest anyway. You feel like you are controlling your own platoon, while still having details individual growth. The battle is tactical, but still filled with a lot of high-paced action. All in all, very good balance. Only down side is the story I guess.
The point of "anti-grinding" games are to encourage actual strategy, and to discourage what newfriends do, and grind to the top level at the beginning of the game, and raping everyone in it. Stuff like TLR and Final Fantasy VIII do this, and do it well. Anyone who hates being unable to easily get through a game calls it a "piece of shit".
Fighting Blue Jaws was difficult enough (took me awhile to realize that in order to avoid his laser beam was making my ally in dispersed position) and holy hell do I have to grind to battle rank 11 just to fight the fire monster boss (Don't exactly remember it name) but even so, It just feel great beating them like a Dark Soul boss though I never actually play them.
i love this games music so much but i wish it wouldnt skip so bad on my 360 it takes me at least an hour to finish battles that should only take half an hour because of the lagging
It's called an opinion. I consider and respect your opinion and right to have said opinion. As for your question, I'm just giving people who don't like a game I like shit because they don't like said game I like.
@Protocultist A CHALLENGE?! In my GAME!? Are you kidding me! Why do I have to work to get anywhere in a game?! I just want a good time! Why can't everything be handed to me on a platter! Newsflash: Japanese RPG's are always about challenge and grinding. Because there WILL be bosses that one shot you. Only bosses scale to your level. Not normal mobs. So, you might want to understand the system before bashing it.
I thought the difficulty was in a pretty good place, though I'll admit that The Fallen gave me conniptions. That was largely because I didn't understand the stats vs level dynamic on my first playthrough and ground weak enemies too much though. And a lot of the randomness can be eliminated by disabling extraneous skills on unions you want to perform a specific function. I mean, I understand why a lot of people found it frustrating. But I thought it was incredibly fun even as it was.
The one thing that I believe no one should be able to complain about in Last Remnant is the soundtrack.
They did exceptionally well with it.
Right!! 😊

I'm smiling from ear to ear through this whole track.
"Hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast!"
The Last Remnant has one of the best OST's that I've ever heard.
Agreed. Especially this track. Gets me so pumped.
Y Chromosome 99 Definitely. Guitar riffs are always the best, lol.
Have you heard Grandia 2 battle themes and Skies of Arcadia battle themes?
Yes I definitely agree, it does. I think this is my favorite battle theme
Agreed!!! It’s one of the best RPG OSTs
Rush:"The one who strikes first is the one who wins, yeah?"
Keep them off balance and CRUSH THEM!
HammerGeoLarrup I played with the Japanese voices
We shall stop them here!
Attack their flank!
holyknight14 We should strike at their flank!
Crush their flank!
Fate Sekai I played with the Japanese voices
Cool story brah, very worth to post it to multiple places.
"Strike them from their flank!"

+FastFlyerJr yes. i get very hyped for the music but not the game... this game is shit
why is everyone getting hype?
I dunno you ask rush
+FastFlyerJr i ll admit i get slightly hyped by this song.
@@django8756 you that
favourite battle theme right here
Same
Paris: "You fiend shall be facing ME!"
I can't help but laugh when I hear that.
"Have a taste of Athlums strength!"
This is one of the best Rpg non boss battle themes ever composed next to some of the ones from Legend of Dragoon.
Nothing beats the LoD menu theme

Absolutely loved this game on my 360 it was just a shame how badly the game ran shame the re-release was only on ps

He summons the Gabolg attack was so sick, loved it! ♥
OMG!!! The orchestra and rock blending in is so fucking epic.
Friendly reminder that this was developed under the name SaGa Frontier 3. And sounds like it. And plays like it.
Great Game with Great OST

"solved" ..the level scaling was one of the worst aspects of the game and most people agree.
@@RaihanLDN TLR and its difficulty are great. Most people need to get good or just stick to easy, grindy RPGs.

I enjoyed it even with the flaws. It was like no RPG I had ever played before and challenging(surprisingly).

I've also found the game doesn't seem to elaborate on some of the stats certain characters level, like bravery, love and gluttony

actually there were hidden bosses like conqueror (max lvl), apocalypsis (or someone with 4-5 turns before all insta death)

@stx75 totally agree, many reviews said the game sucked, it remains one of my favourite up to today =)
wish this song was played in the stat grinding areas (like AR or Blackdale Obsidian Trail) >.
