Milton's Iron Will attack is unreal. The game has a very strict "1 turn, 1 action" mechanic (outside of Multi-Deadlock), and then suddenly Milton decides that the rules don't apply to him.
So true at least he doesn't have all hit on enemies like Ludope's galaxy and the Sisters twin snow petal you still can hit him using far mystic arts safety
@@gaalxystar1873 Ludope's Galaxy was where I almost gave up in Hard Mode. That single attack would btfo my entire squad. I basically only won by retrying until I finally got some good luck.
@@gaalxystar1873 It's true. A good part of the luck was hoping they went for Rejuvenate instead of attack arts, so my units wouldn't just get blasted in one turn.

I agree, it enabled him to completely wipe out one of my unions then he proceeded to botch two others in the same turn! A very tense fight and awesome fight

@Killa1949 ludope's galaxy requires him to be raidlocked in order to use it,so if u leave him alone in the first turns and let him come for you, instead of u coming to him,he will never use it

+That A One [Zodiark] Funny Ludope's Galaxy was weak in my playthrough heck Ludope was the easiest one of the 6 for me I had with Young casting his Brawl attack at the end of every fucking turn.
Ludope and Milton were almost trivial for me, but Mr. Young just kept fucking my unions over so hard because of the AOE on his pummel skill or whatever. I finally beat him and saved and went right on to the next base and beat that no problem, too. Then I realized I saved over my 3 files, and didn't talk to the Duke of Ghor the third time and fucked up my 30h 100% save file.
just finished the base battles, so proud of myself XD to me i found young being the hardest ( i tried like 7 times) then what i did was get 4 unions fill out the first three with the best (rush, david, caedomn, torgal emmy etc) then fill out the last union with irina and two random soldier healers it works well and u just keep two on standby and two killing i put davids on standby while rush killed and so did caedomn :) works well, try it if u have a hard time with the base battles! good luck X
@ch4zzyklon that might have something to do with it. Just don't multi deadlock Young and you're fine. His Brawl attack hits in a linear path, so the union hes targetting, and any behind them are going to be hit. I just had my healer union constantly on "Hurry and heal yourself!" so they'd heal anyone that needed it. I had a full on assault union, and 2 backups. 1 backup and assault at a time. When either died, I'd send in the other, so it was always 2 on 1. Worked like a charm.
@zwady now u made me remember of my messed up save file, i was battle rank 110 with wasted stats due to high amount of low mob rampage with no stat increase, and even so , i went and tried beating the fallen with crapy gear and crapy skils , no cachexia at all ,it took MORE THAN A MONTH of tries, about 300+ tries, but in the end i defeated it by some miracle, miracle does happens, but that was crazy, hardest fight i ever had in video games,
@TheGatekeeper7thSeal True, my David triggered his Gae Bolg at least 4 times per base, and sometimes inside the base while fighting the twins and Milton's soldiers. Add to that, Torgal's Lugh's Revenge weapon skill, which is not only awesome but also insanely powerful against single units.
"Your enemy is at an extreme advantage"? TELL ME ABOUT IT!! THESE BOSSES WERE INSANE. @Truthrillz8, yeah Young's Brawl destroyes a Union, guaranteed. As soon as he yelled "I'll slice you to ribbons!" I knew I'd be spending some time reviving my comrades -.-
@TGamersFB You're only half right. The game was awesome, an actual game that has a challenge to it and learning curve. It doesn't hold your hand through the game like most games now a days. It did have slow down and even got to the point of it being a slide show on my Xbox, but I still love the game. Still haven't beaten it though, got through the six bases but now i'm stuck on the final inner base >.< Hard game is hard.
@zwady *continuing* because theres no way to survive against galaxy in that fight it if it hits you completely, its 100% KO chance if no evade/dodge/orphic ward/soul shield
....fought the enlightened seven, cuz i wanted to recruit them at low battle rank so baddly to take advantage of being able to do stat boost em a lot in ancient ruins at low BR,they are the strongest recruitable characters of the whole game ( the strongest starting stats/starting skills) , my mr.young did 235k damage in ancient ruins with no weapon upgrade at all,and that was just against 1 enemy, his skills is like omnislash,it does 1 hit per enemy.....

The Last Remnant is very underrated. I should have given the game more credit when it was released. I realized it now that I have experienced the awful Final Fantasy XIII on PC.
Speak for yourself. Final Fantasy XIII was NOT terrible. I love both The Last Remnant and Final Fantasy XIII, but Final Fantasy XIII is a much better game, even if you throw out the convoluted story and terms everyone keeps bitching about that weren't any more convoluted than any other JRPG. Final Fantasy XIII also had better polish. The visuals still look fantastic, the soundtrack was great, and I was one of the few that thought the battle system was lots of fun. Also, the world in that game is just fantastic and it feels very cohesive. The Last Remnant had a fantastic soundtrack and a top-tier battle system that had loads of possibilities, but progression was beyond stupid. The game's visuals were okay at best, but very bland. The world itself was also very uninspired and many of the locations felt like they were separate areas, not part of the world as a whole. The story was "alright", but nothing special. I love both games, but I can't say the Last Remnant is a better game when Final Fantasy XIII, from a technical standpoint, did everything better.
It's matter of preference, as far as I'm concern the amazing Battle System, the exploration of the world which is far more interesting than FFXIII (FFXIII looks pretty but is just a big hallway for 80% of it and has no interaction with other peoples whatsoever, no sidequest, not much to explore and many feels to long for what they are) for me and this excellent soundtrack make The Last Remnant a better game for me.... at least the PC version cause yeah the 360 version had really a lot of issues, but don't get me wrong I enjoy both games and think FFXIII is overhated but I prefer The Last Remnant.
@zwady hm heard a lot about xenogears for PS1 but never had the chance to play it, but im currently playng xenosaga in the ps2 emulator ,i heard the both games arent connected to each other but were made by same producers, and its awesome, only rpg that has a story that can challenge FF games story
Yes road to the dawn, you have a point. Its better to create one attacking union (good strengh, maby defence) one healing union (good healing artes) and one all rounder union with som healing artes! That stragety is how I beat the base bosses!
@dogkealthalas The hardest id say was either ludope or milton, only hard thing about ludope was how often he uses maledict, and how often it ended up botching all my unions x_x i had an easy time on hinnah and hannah actually, i deadlocked them both after killing their unions, and hinnah didnt use seduction and hannah never used second chance, and for the bases have 4 unions with 3-4k hp is usually enough, have a few units with Permafrost V and Caustic blast V
Weird, but I don't remember having any problems with Milton. But Snievan and Zuido kept butchering for so long that I was ready to quit. I had no idea what I was doing then, though. Not that anything changed after 10 years
Just got to the first base with that Snievan character. Took me 3 tries just because I didn't kill the mage squads quick enough. This game seems to be a lot of "spam AOE" or "spam uber-attack" sadly. Very little have my actions been just outmaneuvered instead of just swamped. But you know you if you're not overtly outnumbered the enemy has some sort of "party wipe" ability. :(
@zwady i got to say: I can approve to you that, if you know what you are doing, it is indeed possible to run Nest of eagles on BR3. I have done it myself. Bai Ze on BR4 is a little hard, but i have seen it be done live at a friend's, and i can assure you: He did not hack. Yea Cachexia kind of breaks the game. It is possible to do without it, but having it breaks it and makes the lost/fallen/demigod so mcuh easier.
Actually, after a month after posting my coment begining with ""Your enemy is at an extreme advantage"? TELL ME ABOUT IT!!" I manged to beat the base bosses, and many other posses, and im now on the final boss XD
The enlightened seven special powers freaks in the game but there are awesome too. Zuido - Giant Press Ludope - Galaxy Snieven - Lugh's Revenge HanHin- Snow Bladedance (I forgot the real name) Mr. Young - Brawl Milton - Iron Will
Milton just broke the rules of the game because of his iron will for having FIVE turns. While you only have one. Too bad in the PC version when you recruit him it's the worse one
Twin Snowpetel by hinnah/hannah should be more reliable because its a sure cast on your first turn.. but u only get those 2 very late in the game which is sad
bases were easy for me at BR 50-60...just make sure you can access PSNERGY makes it easier...for me SECOND CHANCE is a life saver for me it was bases 1-3-2-4-6-5 (:
@Sefearion Iunno if its diff on PC, but on xbox his brawl ive survived with around 100-200hp even with no moral, so its survivable, just have a good leader (Dave, Caedmon, or Torgal, but Caedmon is way better since he has remedies and is insane on physical atk and def) and decent union hp use support constantly too, it helps (under 3.5k hp you wont survive most likely)
@ZerianaZ I actually got into a battle with him and he never used Galaxy II once in the entire match and I still almost lost because of his AoE spamming >.
This battle theme is probably one of my favorite of all time. The Last Remnant, Mass Effect and Chrono Cross/Trigger, in my opinion has the best soundtrack of all time.
Just wipe out the rest of their unions before attacking the main boss(es). But with Hinnah and Hannah , you should wipe out their army as usuall, then focus on Hinnah (the silver haired one) but have at least one union attack Hannah or she will use second chance and heal Hinnah for 65000 HP!!!!! If you take out Hannah first, (the brown haired one and the one with second chance.) then Hinnah will use overdrive (remember from eagles nest? It lets them attack 4 times in one turn)
the only thing bad about this game... are the cut scenes... they could've worked on better animations if it wasnt for that i'd give this game 8.8/10. very addicting
Thanks for the advice, because after making 3 unions, 1 atttacking union, 1 healing, and 1 all rounder, i maneged to beat Snievian (base 1), Zuido (base 2), and Young (base 5) P.s thanks for the advice.
Noteworthy bits of balance in the PC version to offset the possible gamebreaking option (having your party all Leaders) - Enemies hit harder - Unique Arts cost AP - No morale boost from healing and criticals give less morale than on the console - New Game+ also includes the option for Hard Mode Quite simply: Shut up, they're both all right in balancing themselves for different kinds of players.
This is one of the few osts where I just genuinely love almost every single song, including the town songs and stuff.

And more, just google "Differences between Xbox 360 and PC versions The Last Remnant" first link should be to a wiki where it's detailed.
@grahuha but that is main point of playng video games : beating challenges that at first sight looks impossible
The enlightened seven special powers freaks in the game but there are awesome too.
Zuido - Giant Press
Ludope - Galaxy
Snieven - Lugh's Revenge
HanHin- Snow Bladedance (I forgot the real name)
Mr. Young - Brawl
Milton - Iron Will
Milton just broke the rules of the game because of his iron will for having FIVE turns. While you only have one. Too bad in the PC version when you recruit him it's the worse one
Twin Snowpetel by hinnah/hannah should be more reliable because its a sure cast on your first turn.. but u only get those 2 very late in the game which is sad
@DarkvindFromIllier they do, well except for yasuhiro. tsuyoshi sekito and nobou both play for the black mages
*other party runs against milton but get enterely KOed too*
i will actually fight and get ass kicked by the full 7 bonus boss chain battle just for the music
bases were easy for me at BR 50-60...just make sure you can access PSNERGY makes it easier...for me SECOND CHANCE is a life saver
for me it was bases 1-3-2-4-6-5 (:
haha yeah i never put pagus in a union but i put emmy, her 100 flowers does like 80k perfect for bossing
And also use total obomination and enthrail one of your unions. WHICH IS BAD. so remmeber to take out Hannah first, Jonymago.
Cruelly averted, there was one >8U!!!!
the only thing bad about this game... are the cut scenes... they could've worked on better animations if it wasnt for that i'd give this game 8.8/10. very addicting
I had to fight Ludope over and over. His unions kept spamming hexes.
I don't remember this comment or what it references. Help me.
you'r best allys in PC version :)
Thanks for the advice, because after making 3 unions, 1 atttacking union, 1 healing, and 1 all rounder, i maneged to beat Snievian (base 1), Zuido (base 2), and Young (base 5)
P.s thanks for the advice.
@stillmatic117 lol i remember i beat an observer w/o wep arts, (it took forever) and another appeared round the corner >.
Noteworthy bits of balance in the PC version to offset the possible gamebreaking option (having your party all Leaders)
- Enemies hit harder
- Unique Arts cost AP
- No morale boost from healing and criticals give less morale than on the console
- New Game+ also includes the option for Hard Mode
Quite simply: Shut up, they're both all right in balancing themselves for different kinds of players.
