I see a lot of people who assumed that the song was Ralsei’s point of view, but I personally think it’s far more sinister, considering the creepy nature of the scene before it. It could be Chara, but I think it’s Gaster’s point of view, because he’s the one we barely learned about so far, but he’s also clearly a major force within this game. We haven’t had a single FUN event, but the Egg ~G~ Easter Egg is a random event (in a different way though). I wonder what Gaster’s up to... But I needn’t gossip. After all, it’s rude to talk about someone who’s listening.
That's actually a really interesting thought process! Gaster definitely seems to have a more overt presence in Deltarune in contrast to Undertale. And considering he seems to be trapped in the void (maybe, or an aspect of the Dark World, who knows?), "I'm with you in the dark" definitely could fit with him. More Gaster is a win in my book! I'm really excited to see where Toby takes this story in the future!
Chara at the end of Genocide pretty much told us that they are able to hop between worlds, so I like to imagine it's both Chara and Gaster singing this song together. (There is some secret text in both games that suggests Chara and Gaster had both formed an alliance with eachother prior to Deltarune's release.)
