I love how in Undertale, every decision you make matters and how reactive it is, even if the tiniest of ways. Example, if you beckon, pet and play with greater dog he’ll lick you and then walk away, showing up at grillby’s later. If you ignore him, he keeps inching closer until he walks away, deciding you’re boring. And if you kill him, well, you’ll never see him again. And killing the one character might even change your entire ending. But in Deltarune, it’s the complete opposite and you don’t get a choice, and it constantly reminds you of this. love that tho

Most Likely the main story will remain the same doesnt matter your choices, you will have the same ending result basically. This is something I dont like very much of this game, In undertale every thing you do it changes the flow of the story and thats what the thing who made Undertale an unique experience, in this game doesnt matter what you do, you will end in the same route always.

The pacifist and aggressive routes spell out HUGELY different consequences for the Dark World. The ultimate ending may be the same, but in pacifist, the King is overthrown and everything is great. Meanwhile in the aggressive route, Susie puts the King to sleep, but he’s still the king. Nobody ever bothered to release the people he’s imprisoned. Meaning Lancer’s gonna have a word or two when the King wakes up. Not to mention none of the evil things the King has done are fixed. Basically in the aggressive route the Dark World is absolutely screwed, whereas in the pacifist route it’s getting better.

Even if Susie kills C-Round, you get the good ending so you really can't blame Susie.
That's interesting...I played through and got the "good" ending with Lancer deposing the king, but got some of the "violent" dialogue with the Darkners in the Castle. Rudinn was upset but forgave me after I apologized, as did Hathy. I had forgotten to warn a few Rudinn about Susie's attacks because I had had to come back and finish the game later but remembered in time not to completely ruin my reputation, I guess 😅

In deltarune, no matter how rude or nice you are to people, it will never change the storyline. But it changes your reputation. *Edit: In the pacifist ending, the king was overthrown by everyone. In the neutral / massacre ending, the king was pacified by susie. The king may have been dealt with by Lancer, Ralsei and everyone else in the neutral / massacre ending, we just didn't get to see it.

Kris is not pulling out his soul for nothing: it isn't to stopping you from controlling him, it's to not comming back from that other world, he doesn't want to accept his new reality. Literally everybody reminds him how was that time when Asriel was with him, so letting Asriel go was painfull. Ralsei is a replacement for Asriel. When the game says "Your choises doesn't matter" it really means that you can't change what happend, but you can change your future
Ok guys edit: In chapter two Noelle can front face her problems about her sister, her mother and father. No matter what route you choose, it always end in "the same way" So, that could mean that Kris is trying to kick you out of that world cause' everybody can solve their problems by their own (Your choices doesn't matter because those aren't your problems: They don't need YOUR help)
Youplase not completely, cause in the beginning, the voice said “your choices doesn’t matter” or something. And there’s an example, when you caught Susie eating the chalk, well she asks you a question by that and you have to answer it, but whenever the choice is, she said then “it doesn’t matter, you don’t have to answer”. So in some case, your choices doesn’t matter because the character doesn’t want to be what you expected.
I used to have this theory that kris was frisk and chara combined (attitude and personality as frisk and looks as chara, it makes sense, right?) and now after watching this video i think that frisk finally pieced together what their soul really is for (for you to control it) and wants to get rid of it, they found out about this most probably not only because of the dark world, but because of chara, in the ending of genocide undertale, it was subtle, but still enough to make out that chara wasnt talking to frisk, but talking to US the player, about giving them our soul, even flowey asks chara and US to let frisk "live their lives normally"

quite accurate tho when youre in a fight and the opponent is shouting loudly or just anything to intimidate you, there's a fair chance that he's not actually that good in fighting. But if your opponent silently walks toward you, its best to not risk getting anywhere near him.

Tbh, I'm also worried about my beloved Lancer, even if he becomes King in Pacifist. And I don't even want to imagine what happens in the Massacre Ending, when his Dad wakes up AND has the support of his full Army. Please tell me Lancer goes to prison for a little while, eats a bit of moss, and then we arrive to save him!
Not to mention Ralsei, since he'd probably get locked up and have to use his magic to WAKE UP THE KING... And there's no doubt that Lancer will be locked away after the violent ending since if he didn't block the throne room door Kris and Susie probably wouldn't have made it to the fountain. Personally, if our actions don't truly matter, we might not see the dark world (or at least this one) for a long time.

[SPOILERS BELOW] yeah, that's probably why kris opened the fountain in chapter 2, just so they could keep having more adventures and spending time together. it's very clear that kris was a loner before the game starts, their only friend was asriel. and since he's gone now, they had nobody until the dark world showed up. now they're best friends with susie, noelle understands them better and is also friends with them, and they have a whole world that only they know about. it's a metaphor for people finding escapism in playing games

What's weird is that I hurt one of the Diamond enemies early on because I didn't know and I still got the ending with the crowd. I guess it's because I apologized.
Welp I can say the same thing. I knew from experience (watching video's) that undertale had some creepy stuff (and I hate scary stuff) so I actually looked away for a moment expecting a jumpscare before looking back at my screen and shouting what the f*ck in horror when the scene unfolded...
It took me 78 tries to beat sans and 3 to beat jevil. Sans is freaking harder. Also if sans practiced fighting like undyne and papyrus then he would basically become the toughest enemy in the series
Should a violent run of Deltarune really be called massacre when you don't actually kill anyone? I personally think it should be "Pacifist" vs. "Bully"
and choices still dont matter because the ending is always the same, or almost he same in pacifist the king is over thrown, in geneocide everyone freaks out... but you always leave the dark world and surface dialogues are not changed
The ending did change but not extremely. In pacifist everyone helps overthrow the king, while in genocide/massacre evrey one is scared. Remember not every thing has a big affect.
And in the massacre ending the king is gonna wake up and God knows what he'd gonna do to Lancer, and the Dark World is screwed since he's still in charge.
I have thought about that too! And he has to go back to being alone with barely a goodbye afterward. He made a little manual that you can find online and it is so cute and he is so happy about making friends. It's sad 🙁

im so pissed off tbh i went through the entire game without killing a single person except for one on accident when i forgot to warn a group of monsters that susie was attacking and one of them died but i thought it didnt count until after i spared every monster i encountered (including jevil) and am also furious that i didn't go back and say my actual last goodbye to all the characters

I used to have this theory that kris was frisk and chara combined (attitude and personality as frisk and looks as chara, it makes sense, right?) and now after watching this video i think that frisk finally pieced together what their soul really is for (for you to control it) and wants to get rid of it, they found out about this most probably not only because of the dark world, but because of chara, in the ending of genocide undertale, it was subtle, but still enough to make out that chara wasnt talking to frisk, but talking to US the player, about giving them our soul, even flowey asks chara and US to let frisk "live their lives normally"
Well my theory is that it’s Kris stopping you from Genocide by breaking his soul and connection

Tbh, I'm also worried about my beloved Lancer, even if he becomes King in Pacifist.
And I don't even want to imagine what happens in the Massacre Ending, when his Dad wakes up AND has the support of his full Army.
Please tell me Lancer goes to prison for a little while, eats a bit of moss, and then we arrive to save him!
Not to mention Ralsei, since he'd probably get locked up and have to use his magic to WAKE UP THE KING... And there's no doubt that Lancer will be locked away after the violent ending since if he didn't block the throne room door Kris and Susie probably wouldn't have made it to the fountain.
Personally, if our actions don't truly matter, we might not see the dark world (or at least this one) for a long time.

yeah, that's probably why kris opened the fountain in chapter 2, just so they could keep having more adventures and spending time together. it's very clear that kris was a loner before the game starts, their only friend was asriel. and since he's gone now, they had nobody until the dark world showed up. now they're best friends with susie, noelle understands them better and is also friends with them, and they have a whole world that only they know about. it's a metaphor for people finding escapism in playing games

and choices still dont matter because the ending is always the same, or almost he same in pacifist the king is over thrown, in geneocide everyone freaks out... but you always leave the dark world and surface dialogues are not changed
The ending did change but not extremely. In pacifist everyone helps overthrow the king, while in genocide/massacre evrey one is scared. Remember not every thing has a big affect.
And in the massacre ending the king is gonna wake up and God knows what he'd gonna do to Lancer, and the Dark World is screwed since he's still in charge.
The whole point is things in the DARK WORLD changes, nothing on the surface does.

im so pissed off tbh i went through the entire game without killing a single person except for one on accident when i forgot to warn a group of monsters that susie was attacking and one of them died but i thought it didnt count until after i spared every monster i encountered (including jevil) and am also furious that i didn't go back and say my actual last goodbye to all the characters
