I was disappointed
Back in the ME2 era, I thought bringing Legion was just god-tier trolling. But after seeing the INCREDIBLY stupid decision the quarians make to start a war for Rannoch during the Reaper invasion in 3, I think it's actually best if you bring him. They still make the same asinine move, obviously, but they make it knowing geth aren't axe-crazy and some (most actually) are willing to be coexist - even ally - with organics. They've no one to blame but themselves for what happens.
One of my biggest gripes with 3 (obv ending aside) is that the warmongering admirals didn't get what they had coming to them. Every admiral that voted for war should pay with their life. Starting a war for personal gain in the middle of the Reaper invasion is a sin that cannot be forgiven.

@@Ankhu86 This case, maybe. She sounds angrier at least, which here is appropriate especially if you are male shep and romancing tali. In most other cases I think femshep is worse at renegade. Male shep does a better job of sounding like a person who pissed off but keeping it barley beneath the surface, femshep wears it too much on the sleeve. For me a N7 keeps it barely under the surface.
I'm a paragon, but that renegade speech is amazingly awesome!

They're both actually really good. Usually the renegade options come off as assholeish and the paragon ones come off as pandering but this is solid for both
And interestingly, Renegade Speech is also different, if you did not talked to the admirals before you went to retake the Arrelai.

Rally is the coolest option. I had forgotten how great Kal'Reegar's speech was. Wish he was more than a footnote in ME3.
+MacDofGlasgow So many things were sacrificed and removed from ME 3. EA only gave them two years to make the game. ME 2 and ME 3 both took three years to make. A whole year removed from development time is devastating. Kept what they cared most about and what they felt were most important to the story in the game. But to make up for lost time they clearly had to cut things out and change things.
Good thing they have 5 to make Andromeda. EA finally learn how to keep their hands to themselves, it seems.
IT would be so better if EA would not step in, and added that one year bioware (needed)

I LOVE that indignant "H-the-PTHH!" from Zaal'Koris during the renegade speech. That alone makes this entire scene worth going renegade for.
The voice acting here is the reason why Tali's loyalty mission is my favorite in ME2

Rallying the crowd I think is the best one, because I liked when Reegar and Veetor were yelling in front of the conclave. The paragon choice I really like too...
I would've said the same thing as Reegar said, the Admirals are pissing on what they fought for.
I love doing Rally because in-universe it shows Tali that Shepard isn't the only one willing to stand up for her
Rally the Crowd is my favorite. It forces the hand of the Admirals to not exile Tali lest they potentially start a civil war among the Fleet.

I personally prefer Renegade or Rally. It's always fun to watch the admirals stutter.

This is hands down one of the best scenes in the entire trilogy.
The writing,the atmosphere,music,and voice acting are top-notch. Especially the atmosphere and the vibe the scene leaves.
Plus,the amount of outcomes and different things you can here is quite large so I can't complain about that either.
Overall,kudos to BW for Tali's Trial.
The whole Quarian plotline is top notch. To me the moment Quarians return to Rannoch is the end of the trillogy.
It's at this point I realize that the Quarians are kinda like the Krogan. Both here and during the third game, aggressively yelling at them goes a long way.

Grunt kinda appreciated the Quarians when talking about the imprints Okeer gave him so I could see how they could bond over being the outcasts of the galaxy.

It's great if you talk to everyone before going to the alerai and use every dialogue option like the video cause you basically yell nice things about tali until they shut up and listen

From what I can tell the Paragon option is just the Renegade option with your indoor voice.
I'd like to think that the dialog between the two at the end of this mission shows Tali's true feelings towards the Commander, as if the success of the trial because of Shepard's aid had sparked a fire in her heart. It not only confirms what Kelly says about Tali wanting to be "more than just friends", it also convinces me to romance her for the 10th time playing this game.

Shepard has the best voice acting in this scene on the renegade option out of pretty much every scene in the game.

@@Batchall_Accepted that's right, I do believe that maleshep belongs to path of paragon(although I do renegade options for the story) and femshep belongs to renegade(and paragon too because that's depending on the choices).
I do wish in the rally the crowd that if you have Garrus he'd say like. "That's right I fought with Tali there and she saved my ass more times than I can count. And putting her through this damn trial is damn insulting." Then vector and everyone else steps in.

I'd gladly pay for a "true companions' DLC for Garrus and Tali actions and dialog.

I didn't realize that the renegade options were so good. I liked the paragon speech but the renegade was actually better.
My favourite is "rally the crowd", because i like to speak with Reegar & Veetor after the Trial.
Come on! "Political bullshit" is a badass redundancy and you know it!
Part of me wishes that the renegade speech would end right when he says "we're leaving" and then they just bounce, and everyone is too afraid/shocked to stop them.
That would have been fucking hilarious and also made the two speeches a little more different as they're almost identical in this scene.
4:05 probably one of my favourite lines in the series, it really shows how Shepard cares for his crew.

I chose the Paragon line as the Renegade one wasn't available. The Renegade one sounds better imo mainly because it catches Koris and Gerrel off guard, leaving them stuttering.
First, Kal'Reegar is f*cking awesome. Second, the first time i saw Shepard's Renegade speech i was like "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!!!" HAHAHA. Epic!
The charm/intimidate choices declare tali innocent and you gain her loyalty. Rallying the crowd does the same only if you talked to the admirals before the alarei mission and if veetor and kal'reegar are present. Withholding the evidence causes Tali to be exiled, but gains her loyalty. Presenting the evidence prevents Tali's exile, but does not secure her loyalty.
If Tali is exiled, you are unable to reunite the Quarians and Geth in ME3.
What I didn't like about this part is that whatever path you take you have to be a dick to Koris for trying to understand the Geth POV, even if you already recluted Legion. Also Koris is the only not a dick Admiral in the 3rd game

Koris seems like a pompous ass in this game, but he's pretty cool in ME3.

1. (0:40) *[Rally the crowd.] ~* This route has always been my personal favorite, and choice, for both my male & female Shepards (both Paragons). It feels far more fulfilling than the more commonly chosen Paragon choice of _"I don't need evidence."_ Also, having Veetor and Kal'Reegar come forward to stand beside Tali'Zorah to show her *ACTIONS* in her dedication to the Quarian people and the Migrant Fleet, thus supporting Shepard's citing Tali's other past actions, brings far more impact.
2. (1:43) *[Renegade] **_("You're wasting our time!")_** ~* Speaking as a Paragon player, I actually was very impressed at how the Renegade route turned out. It was a great move by Shepard to act like he and Tali were summarily leaving the proceedings to bait the Admirals and then expose their political intent(s). Most other Renegade choices I have seen did not impress me (which is why I was a double Paragon for my Shepards), but this one definitely did. ;)
3. (4:45) *_I got better, Shepard...I got you."_** ~* That line always hits me deep in _'The Feels.'_ One of many reasons I love Tali'Zorah and her romance with (male) Shepard so much. Liz Sroka did such great emotional delivery in her role as Tali'Zorah vas Normandy. *
I’ve never see the renegade speech before. I kinda like how Shepard just calls them on their bs and nonchalantly say they’re leaving & they’re like 😮 lol
But really all options are good. I don’t have a clear favorite.
That’s why I love this series. Sometimes I even go for the non-charismatic option bc the dialogue is just so good (like the interrogation for Thane’s loyalty mission)
Legion sitting on the steps with his knees tucked in gives me life. It's so hilarious that he's just there while Shepard rails into the admirals.
As much as I'm a paragon through and through, (fuck the morality system I always save edit my rep so no option is grayed out) I always go with the renegade pick here. It's too hilarious to pass up and arguably more paragon than the paragon pick, depending on your frame of refernce.
I just love listening to the Renegade speech I didn't know there was two different versions of it but I chose paragon
I love the Rally option, just getting everyone pissed off at the Admirals is blissful to me

After having seen every possible ending for this trial, I really think it should be a lot harder to earn the renegade/paragon options. They are essentially the consequence-free bypass-moral dilemma button. In fact, there should be no dialogue options at all that depend on the morality bar. They just make everything too damn easy. Keep the interrupts though, they're fun.
I like the system tho. it's a way of telling the players that 'if you stick to principles & dare to speak out, you'll eventually get smarter & be able to talk your way outta sticky situations with minimal to no cost'. it encourages players to be badass in all sense of the word rather than meek, & sends the message 'being neutral all the time will only make you stupid'.
Reegar, one of the only quarians that don't have an accent.
He does, its called American (you have accents too you know)

wow I've played the mass effect trilogy so many times and I still don't know which speach I like the best lol.
For me, it's obviously the renegade one. first throw an 'i've done with this bullshit. i'm outta here', then call the admirals for what they really are. nothing is as sweet as burning assholes again & again, & without 'all due respect' softening the fire.

Out of all the choices Rally is my favorite pick to help Tali not be exiled.
1:15 is the most underrated option in all of Mass Effect, especially considering how the third game no-shows Veetor and Kal! The Quarians deserved better leaders/admirals!
I love this mission so so much! Somehow, I always find myself replaying it. While I prefer the Paragon option, all the options are awesome in their own way.
I don't think there's a single resolution I prefer over the other. They're all so kickass. Even the neutral one.
There were times in ME when I was like "goddamn morons, I should let the Reapers harvest you all!" :D
I love that each speech is about making the admiralty board look like a bunch of goons compared to the leadership of, We'll Bang Okay, Shepard lmao.

For whatever reason I never have enough Paragon or Renegade so I just rally the crowd.
*Hint hint,* the renegade and paragon check becomes easier if you talk to the admirals with all their speech options after the first part of the hearing (before saving their ship). It changes also, but mainly it becomes easier.

This is why this is the best loyalty mission and in general. All of them could have used multiple choices including one to n ou t listen to what they ask of you resulting in conflict.
Depending on the dialogue and action choices you make you gain points. The points have their own bars so filling one up doesn't affect the other. You can get bonuses that boost the bars.
on my first playtrough, i didnt have enough paragon nor renegade points, i played in a way, what would i do in real life, but lucky me, I didnt give veetor to cerberus and i saved reegar and i speaked to them before the trial, my heart stopped when i first saw paragon and renegade options blacked, but then i looked and saw the "rally the crowd" and i thought to myself, ok, guess i don't have other choice :D and thank god it worked
i always play as paragon, but i must say the renegade speech is the best.

Strange, For the paragon speech in my play. Shepard just said the same about the Intro, but then ends it with him being her captain, and he trusts her. Afterwards one of them points out how the only bit of evidence is simply trust, Afterwards Shepard reinforces it again with how she fought by his side and can count on her anytime. I'm going to guess that the reason he explains it like that was possibly because I didn't interact with any of the admirals and just went straight for the shuttle,
If you want to see the woman who does the voice of Tali's Aunt (the one at the trial) she is Commodore Paris on Star Trek Beyond (2016). She's also in ME3 but not as much.
Yep that's her alright, although she did played a character from law and order: SVU.
If you watch the Expanse, the Admiral's voice should sound really familiar now :)
If I knew in my first play through about the rallying option I wouldn't of never gotten Tali Exiled

There's actually another renegade option that you get if you don't speak to the adimarals before going to the alerai, I only just found out about it recently coz I've played me2 so many times so this time I just slipped speaking to the admirals
Veetor and Reegar are two of the ballsiest quarians ever

But, like what I said above, there may be other factors at play, choices you need to make to make the options possible. Not sure though.
I will always choose the renegade option. It’s the damn truth and truth be damned if it ain’t told.
