I really don’t know how people can do all of that in the morning?!
I get up, wash up, thanks to fasting don’t have to worry about preparing breakfast , drive 40 to 50 minutes to work (7:30 and 8:30 alternating start time) get home at either 5:30 or 6:30pm
When I get home just have time to change and straight to the kitchen to prepare dinner
Only get to sit down by 8:30 or 9pm exhausted!!
    Not easy being a woman!

I often wonder the same! I've been trying to improve my health b/c I WFH. It's not that glorious, trust me, no communte time, but you WORK b/c they are always watching. Before WFH, I commuted to work 2 hours each way, sometimes more. Anyway, I've been on leave b/c of work related injuries and now I have time to do all of this, and sometimes I do not, but in average, who can do this and take care of others i.e kids, partner, home , etc. Seems like you need to be awake at 5am and going to bed at 11pmb in order to do all of this!

It seems our western life’s are built on such unhealthy habits. For me I commute 1.5hr work 12.5hrs. 🙄. It’s like a whole over haul needs to be done. And it does need to be done, or pay the consequences.
I thinking, for me how about I pop in my headphones and listen to this while doing morning routine instead of staying in bed for extra 15 mins, 😂. Utilize that cortisol!

If I can break the habit of coffee first thing, I know the excess fat will fall away. Intermittent fasting is a superb practice. Thanks for all your great work, Dr. Mindy!

I get up at 6 a.m. (my 2 cats are calling me), feed the cats, and drink water. I go to my apartments balcony to water the plants and see the morning light. Around 7 a.m. I do my home workout for 20 minutes (sometimes more sometimes less). It includes, in different days, stretching, muscle strength, weight lifting (just 5 to 8 kg), and other body movements. I shower and dress, and then I take my breakfast around 8 a.m. Then I'm ready to my comute to the train station (10 minutes). I'm 54 and do national archery competitions (I'm not a professional). 🎯

I’m up at 430. First I let the dog out, start the coffee and take my meds. I do about a 15 min stretch and train workout (nothing too intense, just gets the blood flowing) then head upstairs to get me and the 4 kiddos ready for the day. After working an 8 hour day I pick up the kids, head home, fix everyone’s dinner and try to squeeze in some weights before showering. I have noticed a huge difference in my weight loss post baby four compaired to the others and I contribute it to 3 things-
    Fasting like a girl 😊
    Working out in the morning
    And completely cut out alcohol
I’m healthier at 41 post baby four than I was in my 20s before kids. Thanks Dr Mindy, much love and appreciation

I have found melatonin patches help a lot with sleep after nights, better than tablets as slow release through your "night". Also there are lots of online resources on healthy eating with shift work. Many use it as an excuse or feel as if it's only possible to eat crap..I have been there. But chocolate can be swapped for nuts, boiled eggs, cut up carrots and celery w homous or guac etc. Stay hydrated and you'll need less caffeine. Meal prep if you're on a 4:3 type rota so you have delicious healthy meals when you're on shifts or after.
Fasting and shifts is definitely something I'd like to know more about from Mindy!

January of 2023 my employer decided to shift our work schedule Monday thru Thursday 5:30 am to 4 pm. Everyone thinks they would enjoy a compressed work week but it has rained hell on my perimenopause body. I haven't lost any more weight. I am still alternate my fast, whole foods diet, moderate exercise. My body just doesn't want to adjust to going to bed a 8 and wake at 3. Tips or advice would be greatly to get the right hours of sleep would be appreciated for those of us who work crazy hours. I love your channel and look forward to your videos. Now that I’ve been following you, I do delay my coffee for about an hour, I don’t put my glasses on, so I won’t read my e-emails and I go and sit on my porch on my little reading nook where the sun rises and I listen to some of the people I follow spiritually. Since my glasses are also transitions I don’t want to block the light - peaceful moments and then I talk to my kids before I even look at an email we check in. I’ve got three grown-up daughters that are all at different stages of their lives and Still miss being mummed in the morning so we try and start our day with positivity and check-in and laughter then after about an hour or so I will put on my glasses check my email. But I do get light, I go out and fill the bird feeder, and refresh the outdoor water. I’m taking my morning 40 minute walk earlier now, trying to beat the Southern California heat. 😥 I was watching a couple gardening TH-cam videos with coffee before my walk, but I think I’ll try switching up the sequence. I’ll care for the animals, then walk, then have my coffee and favorite “shows”.

I feel so much more alive in the morning, finding I don’t have a slump after eating any more. After watching this I’m going to start walking g my dog after breakfast too! Absolutely love your content Mindy, you’re a lifesaver!! 🩷

Hello 🌈and thanks for your informations on how the body works: l agree and have noticed from own experience - a lot of them by myself, intuitiv and it works for me very well:
    - on the morning - first thing - l do some breathwork, often in bed, but open window. Then l go „outside“ - and do either a cardio walk with music or sit on the balcony and listen to some pos. affirmations.
Afterwords l do my sport - at least 30 min - whatever feels good to me, always supported with music. My „infusion for the day! I feel just fine going into the day like that. If l am hungry then, l take a protein shake or some Greek Joghurt with nuts and banana and blueberries and cinnamon. Love that.
Only coffee: l confess - l am „addicted“. I simply love coffee and first thing after waking up l get water and then my coffee 1 and 1/2. and 2 hours later another or espresso.
Does matcha really make such a difference? If so - l would try it at least.
Looking forward to an advice on that. 🌈🌷🦋thanks in advance.

Working in the medical field it’s hard to wait on that cup of coffee. Usually going to work when it’s dark or the sun is just peaking-which I love. I do my best when I work out before work-usually a HIIT Workout with or without weights. Weekends, it’s usually more relaxed. I feed the chickens at daybreak, Bible study and then a workout.

What is awesome is God has this schedule for me that when I do it I am my best. This morning routine totally fits into what she is talking about and as I spend time with Him thanking Him loving Him reading the Bible and speaking the truth over myself and those I will encounter that day it’s like YES His mercy IS new every morning . This is how He created us. He for us and us for Him. I take my morning walk to and from the bus to work fellowshiping with Him speaking in the spirit and praying for others my mind and body just feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be

One of my favorites of yours yet, thank you !!
I get the testosterone surge at night. That's when I love to weight train. Literally i work out for an hour before bed, it makes me sleepy.
I fast 18 hours (someone told me about that 😊) so I don't eat in the morning except herbal tea or coffee.
I honestly believe in the mindful thoughts in the morning! My worst days are started with negative thoughts or things that are worrying me. It sets the tone for the day...
I start my day with puppies and kitties.. Literally lol. My cat comes to say good morning (and feed me) and my dog rolls over for a morning snuggle. Starting calmly like that full of love I firmly believe has helped me stay calm dealing with my daily stresses.
I did not know about the phthalates !! This was totally knew to me. I hate air fresheners and perfumes because they give me killer headaches but all those airborne chemicals affecting us in other physical ways makes complete sense !!
I have to go rearrange my bedroom, think I need me a thinking chair!
You are totally insanely cool Dr. Pelz , thank you !!!

To complete all these morning tasks and still get to work on time, I'd gave to get up at 430 am. Its dark 3/4 of the year at 430 at my latitude.. Also, we're supposed to prioritize sleep. There is no possible way for me to be asleep by 730 or 8 and still be a part of family and community life., especially in the summer months when it is still light out till past 9 pm. I like the information, and I'll use what I can, but most Americans don't have as much free time as this morning routine requires.

I completely understand the idea behind going with our natural rhythms and I do most of this. What do we do in the winter when sunlight is an issue? I am up at 5:30 daily and I can't get sun before I start my day. Plus, I don't have a lot of time before I leave for work so I can only do about 10 minutes of meditation in order to fit in my yoga and daily flow to help my lymph drainage. Can we get our sunlight later and still get the benefits?

I LOVE this! I've been getting myself in the habit of having a gentle morning for the first hour, waiting for that first cup of coffee and I love it. Here's something I'm currently struggling with though that I want to beat. I'm 59 and I have Fibromyalgia. In my 40s I was a fitness nut and I'm one of those people who really enjoys the gym environment. But since menopause and the FM which I've had for about 10 years, it is REALLY hard to get myself moving in the morning. I WANT to, but walking is often painful for me (after, not as much during) and the same with working out. Because of the pain, I have this huge mental wall that is keeping me from exercising. I don't know how to get past this. Where we live, there is a pool. Is swimming enough of an activity? If so, for how long? I so want to be strong again!

Hi Mindy! I get up early about 5:15 am and have an alternating work out schedule of either walking 3 miles or going to the gym to lift weights or do cardio. I do drink coffee right away, so I think I'll try to wait an hour and see how that works out. I don't go to the gym right away, so I could definitely spend some time putting something positive in my brain vs. checking emails or social media (which I know would be health-ful) **. I love knowing how our bodies work hormonally (spelling?) and I appreciate you explaining this so much, thank you! I agree with you that the morning is a special time for us to do things that are helpful to us, and to protect our sleep by getting 7-9 hours every night too. Thanks so much and I'm looking forward to knowing more, and trying some of these tips!!! I learn so much from you!! Take care :-))
