1 . Journal every day . 2. Early bedtime and wake up time . 3. Simple evening routine - cup of green tea , relaxing music , skincare routine, reading a good book . 4. Switching to decaf coffee . 5. Plan the dinners for the week in advance . 6. Running outdoors every day and breathe fresh air . 7. Intermittent fasting . 8. Morning routine - a glass of water , music , short meditation and journal , breakfast, no phone . 9. Pampering and self care - luxurious shower once in a week . 10. Writing out my plan for the next day - personal and professional and prioritize things .

I'm in week one of intermittent fasting; we'll see. It's not difficult but I'm retired and life is easier with grown kids. I have journaled every day forever, which means at 64, I have a pile of books I need to burn. Who cares what I had for lunch? But I plan in my journal, think, pray, everything is in that journal. Passionate about learning more and more about music which has kept me sitting on the piano bench for 4 years. Starting to walk again and I know ... an exercise routine is critical to a long and happy life. I really appreciate finding you on you tube. 64 is so different than 64 in my parents or grandparents years. I feel young and energetic and there is so much to learn. Thanks for your videos!

We are often compromised by long working hours and home chores. It is a skill to get some healthy habits slipped into your own personal circumstances. For me I swim most days at 8.30pm to then sleep 11.30 to 7am (the pool is rammed 6am to 9am and early evening ..yuk) . Agree the meal planning is a great habit 👌 ❤

Good and inspiring video😊 I will just share a few of mine: 1. I start my day with a few mindfulness breaths in bed before I slowly get up and strech. That gives me at relaxing non-stressful beginning of the day. 2. I get out every day either for a run or a walk. I love to walk, it gives me so much both mentally and fysically🌞

Loved hearing your habits. We have a lot of similar ones. I love being caffeine free as well, and like you resisted it for a long time. It feels great to not be hooked on something. I’ve tried intermittent fasting before but didn’t stick with it. I’m trying it again now and watching your videos makes me excited about the benefits of it.

I stepped onto the elliptical with my phone in my pocket and this video started. Akin to a butt dial but YT video instead. What an absolute pleasure you are to listen to and encourage us. Subscribed as soon as I did my time on the beast.
Just want to clarify though, no one can get by without breakfast. That means that you’ve stopped eating.
Breakfast means to break fast. It’s the first meal after a long period of not eating, typically after sleep. JS♥️🇨🇦

We have different chapters in our lives. I can relate to this video more when I was in my 40s to be honest.
I’m 61 and I have a hard time wanting to journal. I don’t know why it’s just something that’s left I used to but anyway point is I’ve replaced it with stretching when I get up in the morning that is the first thing I do to clear my mind is I stretch and there’s meditation in there during my 15 minutes of stretch. Also before I go to bed, I do have a cup of chamomile tea because for some reason green tea keeps me up or seems too. Maybe it’s a mental thing or maybe it has caffeine I’m not even sure at this point.
But I do stretch full-time and life gets a little stressful and it’s a wonderful feeling to stretch and then fall into bed. It’s it’s really really good for me.

Thank you for such good content. Would appreciate it more, as with others’ videos, if you would reduce apologies or lengthy introductions. A healthy habit I have is getting outside soon after I wake up to soak in the sunshine.
I would like to have less (or no) caffeine. What kind of decaf do you use? I know some decaffeination processes are healthier than others.

Thank you the great advice. I am trying to do fasting but I find it a challenge. I will download your guide to help me. Every morning upon waking I try to think of at least three positive things/thoughts of what I am grateful for. It is so easy to be negative so turning my thoughts around have truely helped me.

I had the opposite result with coffee. I had migraines every month - tried to my monthly cycle. They were so bad that I couldn't function for a couple of days each month. I accidentally discovered a cup of caffeinated coffee worked miracles. There are now migraine medications that contain caffeine. Doesn't work for everyone, but it sure worked for me.

Hi Dr. Kim Foster I'm new to watching your videos and I love them. I believe that intermittent fasting works for me, although I have a hard time doing it due to my emotional eating. The other day I didnt eat for 21 hours and every I don't eat for a long time I lose weight. Also I'm in situations that prevent me from getting much exercise at all. I think I need to start taking an appetite suppressant; but what would that be? Is there anything safe that works? I take blood pressure meds and anti anxiety and anti depressant meds. And I'm pre-diabetic. I certainly don't want this condition. It would depress me more. But I will keep trying.

The best habits ever : Pray 5 times daily regularly , my routine get organized around them . The best meditation that calms me down and gives me tranquility and peace of mind is ( thickr) to repeat the name of Allah in meaningful phrases " Subhan Allah= Glory to Allah , Al hamdulilah= praise to Allah , Allahu Akbar = Allah is greater ( greater than pain / stress/ agony/ fear/any opressing power that scares me ) Islam is happiness.

Inspiring! I’m on my final decade and still trying to get committed! Intentions are no good unless followed through. Been trying to loose 10 pounds for ages; I’m healthy with good energy but still feel like a dropout. So the Intermittent Fasting sounds doable. Also have healthy eating habits but drink too much on regular basis - this is changing but I know that a bonus of weight loose would totally spur me on. Thank you for the wonderful tips. Going to write down daily goals to begin! 🫶 Joy

I understand fasting is not that good for us like we use to think. I simply eat whole healthy foods and vitamins my body needs. A study can come up all the time and throws a rock in our plans. I do everything else you do but NO more fasting. I feel great. A great habit I do not do is drinking any alcohol at all. My blood work is outstanding because I do such great care of my liver. It is poison after all.
