Writing out my plan for the next day - personal and professional and prioritize things .
I'm in week one of intermittent fasting; we'll see. It's not difficult but I'm retired and life is easier with grown kids. I have journaled every day forever, which means at 64, I have a pile of books I need to burn. Who cares what I had for lunch? But I plan in my journal, think, pray, everything is in that journal. Passionate about learning more and more about music which has kept me sitting on the piano bench for 4 years. Starting to walk again and I know ... an exercise routine is critical to a long and happy life. I really appreciate finding you on you tube. 64 is so different than 64 in my parents or grandparents years. I feel young and energetic and there is so much to learn. Thanks for your videos!
I'm 65 with no set routine. My favorite take on all your advice is to plan my meals in advance. I waste food and eat out far too often. Thank you.. for reminding me to organize my life..
Dear Dr Kim, if you ever read this I would like to say a massive thank you. I only discovered your TH-cam channel today and already learnt so much. You have such a lovely manner and I bet your patients miss that. Plus, I love your sense of humour and how relatable that you are. Thanks again.
I love this! It's not about drastic changes, but about consistency. I've found that drinking water first thing in the morning and practicing gratitude have truly transformed my mindset.
We are often compromised by long working hours and home chores. It is a skill to get some healthy habits slipped into your own personal circumstances. For me I swim most days at 8.30pm to then sleep 11.30 to 7am (the pool is rammed 6am to 9am and early evening ..yuk) . Agree the meal planning is a great habit 👌 ❤
Loved hearing your habits. We have a lot of similar ones. I love being caffeine free as well, and like you resisted it for a long time. It feels great to not be hooked on something. I’ve tried intermittent fasting before but didn’t stick with it. I’m trying it again now and watching your videos makes me excited about the benefits of it.
What an excellent video! I do most of these, but I was recently widowed, so I've had to add another item-practice daily kindness & patience when you struggle to get things done.
Good and inspiring video😊 I will just share a few of mine: 1. I start my day with a few mindfulness breaths in bed before I slowly get up and strech. That gives me at relaxing non-stressful beginning of the day. 2. I get out every day either for a run or a walk. I love to walk, it gives me so much both mentally and fysically🌞
Thank you for such good content. Would appreciate it more, as with others’ videos, if you would reduce apologies or lengthy introductions. With so much accessible information nowadays, I generally turn off anything that doesn’t get to the point within @30 seconds. (Brutal) editing is so appreciated.
Great channel so far! I just found you today. You reignited my fire to get into life coaching and start my own channel. Thanks for letting us in on some of your habits. I do intermittent fasting as well. I think one habit I started is to stop using the microwave, and instead eating my food cold or warmed up on the stove. Thanks again!
Great video. One thing I do is meal pep early in the day because by the time 5 pm rolls around, the last thing I want to do after a productive day is cook. I actually put it on my list and check it off.
EXCELLENT! Since retiring 5 years ago, I have no excuse about lack of time for good habits such as walking, biking, cross country skiing every morning at sunrise.
Kim, thank you so very much for your amazingly positive video this morning. It caught my eye when I received the notification. I’m on a weight loss journey for the umpteenth time. However, my priority is to work on changing my mindset and incorporating intermittent fasting most days to help me in resetting my mind and body as regards to food. I’m going to be 56 in a couple of weeks and I feel like your video gives me some practical suggestions to use. I hope you have a great day!!💗
New subscriber ❤ I started intermittent fasting and feel so good. My energy level is like I was when I was younger. I’m checking out your other videos on it.
Thank you so much doctor Kim for this video. I like how you run in the morning. I walk outside with my baby granddaughter every morning while my daughter does her Pilates. I feel very useful and she amd I are getting exercise in the process. I should adopt planning the meals. Ty for this useful video
A healthy habit I have is getting outside soon after I wake up to soak in the sunshine. I would like to have less (or no) caffeine. What kind of decaf do you use? I know some decaffeination processes are healthier than others.
Dear Dr Kim, thank you so very much for your encouraging positive video. I have been stuck in a lull, not knowing how to get motivated to better my health. This video truly helped me with some great ideas that I am going to focus on implementing. I'm so thankful that I have found your channel and will be tuned in often for your beautiful and exciting healthful tips. Thank you so much.
I stepped onto the elliptical with my phone in my pocket and this video started. Akin to a butt dial but YT video instead. What an absolute pleasure you are to listen to and encourage us. Subscribed as soon as I did my time on the beast. Just want to clarify though, no one can get by without breakfast. That means that you’ve stopped eating. Breakfast means to break fast. It’s the first meal after a long period of not eating, typically after sleep. JS♥️🇨🇦
I’m new to your channel. I actually just came across it a few hours ago. I am considering intermittent fasting. Thanks for all the info. I like warm toes at bedtime too. I have a heated throw across the foot of my bed. I turn it on about 30 minutes before I go to bed.
Thank you the great advice. I am trying to do fasting but I find it a challenge. I will download your guide to help me. Every morning upon waking I try to think of at least three positive things/thoughts of what I am grateful for. It is so easy to be negative so turning my thoughts around have truely helped me.
Hello Doc Kim, can you please make a video about hypothyroidism among women, and how to be friends with our hormones, thanks a lot for the inspirational videos you make.🎉
Thanks so much. I had an aortic dissection last year and was told no more caffeine. I am from New Orleans, so coffee is a way of life. I found French Market Decaf and don't miss "regular" coffee at all.
We have different chapters in our lives. I can relate to this video more when I was in my 40s to be honest. I’m 61 and I have a hard time wanting to journal. I don’t know why it’s just something that’s left I used to but anyway point is I’ve replaced it with stretching when I get up in the morning that is the first thing I do to clear my mind is I stretch and there’s meditation in there during my 15 minutes of stretch. Also before I go to bed, I do have a cup of chamomile tea because for some reason green tea keeps me up or seems too. Maybe it’s a mental thing or maybe it has caffeine I’m not even sure at this point. But I do stretch full-time and life gets a little stressful and it’s a wonderful feeling to stretch and then fall into bed. It’s it’s really really good for me.
Yesssss! Being aware of habits has and continues to change my life. Bundling a habit like you did to get running- great reminder and example of how to achieve results!!!
Thank you for those tips ! Journaling was Always a must for me since i was ... Able to write 😅😅 Working out without something in my stomach scares me ... Is it a limiting believes to think that ? Thank you again
Yes, journaling is wonderful, isn't it? And you're not alone with your concern about exercising without eating first -- I actually used to have the same worry myself. You should check out this video I recently did where I talk about this (and a few other mistakes people make with IF), it might help: th-cam.com/video/T-B9owueJjE/w-d-xo.html
Hi Dr. Kim Foster I'm new to watching your videos and I love them. I believe that intermittent fasting works for me, although I have a hard time doing it due to my emotional eating. The other day I didnt eat for 21 hours and every I don't eat for a long time I lose weight. Also I'm in situations that prevent me from getting much exercise at all. I think I need to start taking an appetite suppressant; but what would that be? Is there anything safe that works? I take blood pressure meds and anti anxiety and anti depressant meds. And I'm pre-diabetic. I certainly don't want this condition. It would depress me more. But I will keep trying.
I had the opposite result with coffee. I had migraines every month - tried to my monthly cycle. They were so bad that I couldn't function for a couple of days each month. I accidentally discovered a cup of caffeinated coffee worked miracles. There are now migraine medications that contain caffeine. Doesn't work for everyone, but it sure worked for me.
The best habits ever : Pray 5 times daily regularly , my routine get organized around them . The best meditation that calms me down and gives me tranquility and peace of mind is ( thickr) to repeat the name of Allah in meaningful phrases " Subhan Allah= Glory to Allah , Al hamdulilah= praise to Allah , Allahu Akbar = Allah is greater ( greater than pain / stress/ agony/ fear/any opressing power that scares me ) Islam is happiness.
Thank you for your video - I just found your channel. My habit which cues my workout is to always have my workout clothes the night before laid out and water bottle. So, in the morning there is no friction to put them on and workout.
What about your spiritual life? Are you human? Is your life perfect? Your advice is incredible in some ways but unrealistic in others. Have a great day 😂😂😂
Inspiring! I’m on my final decade and still trying to get committed! Intentions are no good unless followed through. Been trying to loose 10 pounds for ages; I’m healthy with good energy but still feel like a dropout. So the Intermittent Fasting sounds doable. Also have healthy eating habits but drink too much on regular basis - this is changing but I know that a bonus of weight loose would totally spur me on. Thank you for the wonderful tips. Going to write down daily goals to begin! 🫶 Joy
Hi Kim love part on fasting if you want good info on fasting look up reverend Franklin Hall of Arizona he Awaume book the A,B,C,OF FASTING THANKS FOR HEALING MESSAGES
I understand fasting is not that good for us like we use to think. I simply eat whole healthy foods and vitamins my body needs. A study can come up all the time and throws a rock in our plans. I do everything else you do but NO more fasting. I feel great. A great habit I do not do is drinking any alcohol at all. My blood work is outstanding because I do such great care of my liver. It is poison after all.
I hope you enjoy this video!! Let me know in the comments: what's one of your healthy habits? 💗

Thank u!
Thank you!
I start everyday with prayer for myself and my loved ones and friends
Prayer is an important part of my day, thank you
@TerryMcMaster-jw8zr works like yoga does. other than that, no.
praying for sure!

Couldn’t agree more. Too much fluff and filler. And it shouldn’t take almost 2 minutes to do an intro.

If i don't get migraines at all, is there a benefit to getting rid of caffeinated coffee?
Thank you for the great track of healthy habits! My day starts with a cup of hot/warm water and short 🧘 yoga 😌
