Coach Dom pretty much nailed it when he said if it doesn’t work live, throw it out, and stay away from anything based on chi!!👍🏻👍🏻

    Agree 100%
My thinking though is another thing. I like my guys to practice and drill the technique for a long time before they start doing it!

Most importantly, it’s ok to leg lock white belts.

I can talk about how dope John Wick is all day. The main thing is that, no one is watching it for logic or story. All we care about it the action sequences, lol! Best action movie of modern times, hands down imo!

I'll make the case that Systema is legit. I've trained at Systema HQ in Toronto and local schools in Sarasota. There are ZERO no touch knockouts or techniques. Everything is tested against resisting opponents at full force and full speed. It's 4 principles: breathing, movement, form, and relaxation. I promise there are really high level fighters that train and use Systema as a part of there game. Not to mention Russian soldiers and special forces.

Great 👍🏼 stuff - dead on - the only thing I’d add is even with Jiu Jitsu moves that are proven effective, they may not work against resistance at first & May require practice or tweaking to get them to work.

I trained Kung Fu for 5 years and when I was sparing 4.5 years in, the Sifu told me to stop using the Kung Fu I learned in sparring. He said that Kung Fu would never work in a street fight. I was like…. Wait, why am I here then? I started doing Jiu Jitsu and boxing. I now feel like I would actually be able to defend myself 😂

If the art focuses on rules and regulations in a controlled environment with a cushioned floor, a referee, only one opponent, and no weapons, it's not "legit" and will stand a good chance of getting you seriously injured or killed in real combat... just like the arts that shoot energy blasts. If the art focuses on not getting killed it doesn't matter in the slightest if it works in a ring. Knives, guns, and clubs don't work in rings but kill a lot of people in the real-world.
Also, if you have no idea how to strike effectively you probably no have no idea that transference of energy is a real thing. Think about it like a car hitting a cement wall. Does all of the energy stay with the car or does the wall break from the force? Exactly.

So if an art practices their craft under optimal conditions like a judo club with a crash pad for throws, they aren't legit? Lol should judo players practice on pavement? How about boxers? They should spar without gloves or headgear right? Because that's what happens in the street? Your comments about fighting have revealed you know absolutely nothing about the subject.

Like, who the F needs to hear this? Didn't UFC1 start the conversation and all subsequent events prove over and over and over again. It even spawned it's own "Martial Art." Submissions + striking = MMA is THE most effective martial art period.
