    This is a great video, no doubt... but not for a person who is going for a discovery flight. This is just too much information to be trying to gain for your first flight.Listen, to anyone who is going for a discovery flight.... Just show up for the flight and enjoy the flight. There is no need to start stressing yourself about impressing your instructor. Just have fun, and your instructor job is to make sure you enjoy yourself on the flight!

      i think for someone who already has an idea of how planes fly this is a good reference. or if you've flown in video games you kind of already have the basic idea of what's needed to turn

      This is EXACTLY what I did in my first lesson...

    Quick question I’ve always wanted to get my pilots license. Where are some good places to get my license and when do I do a discovery flight ?

    • @noctis8596
      @noctis8596 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I don’t know if you figured out answers to your questions but I figure since I’m about to be going through this I’d tell you what I’m doing as an aspiring pilot.
      This weekend I’m going to look at a college for flight. I went to a siminar I looked up on FAPA and they had a speaker there who I clicked with. Today I got called by there admissions team and this really helpful lady said “come by and take a tour and discovery flight for free” so me and my parents are traveling to this college to go check them out and take a discovery flight.
      The best thing I could’ve done was go to that FAPA event. Look it up, bring a pen and a notebook, take notes about what all the speakers say, and talk to the others in the room. You all have the same goals and aspirations In one way or another.

    Hey man love the video! I’m actually going on one this summer! Just a quick question, when mentioning the three axis of flight, did you happen to mix up vertical and lateral movements on the aircraft? I was a little confused when you were moving the aircraft side to side (rudder control) in the example and calling it vertical movement and then explaining pitch as lateral movement. I was just a little confused, but I loved the video and found it very helpful!

    • @JPLAviation
      @JPLAviation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pitch is on the lateral axis while yaw is on the vertical axis! Think of a wall intersecting at the CG of the airplane in three dimensions. If you’re into math it’s basically the x,y,z on a graph.
