Love the points, Anna! One thing I think that makes clothes fit better and your look more put together is physical fitness. It’s not just about how thin or young one is, but how you feel in your skin. Physical fitness elevates the look, imho, but when someone is out of shape, even high quality designer outfits cannot solve the sloppy look.
I think it is practical and attractive to choose a set of colors that look good on you, so that you can choose a new outfit in a store confidently, knowing that it will coordinate with your existing wardrobe. Warm, not cool, colors look good on me, and I look dreadful in black, white, and pure hues. If I wear a color I like that isn't in my color range, it will be the outfit that people notice entering a room, not me looking more attractive because of the colors I am wearing
Hey Anna I am a college going girl, could you do a video on how to look elegant while still maintaining a casual vibe with clothing which would be appropriate for college.
@Sarahkapadia5373 she has an incredible history of videos on style. Dig into her archives - she has addressed elevating your look, and I see comments from young women that it improved how they feel, and how they are TREATED (more respect), and it can actually have you stand out to professors and potential employers. Enjoy the journey!!
Hi Sarah, I’m in your exact same position, but what has helped me to feel elegant in my clothes without feeling out of place is, for example, switching jeans for trousers in neutral or pastel colors, wearing nice knitted pullovers or sweaters instead of hoodies, and choosing ribbed or knitted top parts instead of the average cotton t-shirt (always paired with classic and sleek white or beige faux leather sneakers), aside from never wearing a “messy bun” hairstyle and always aiming for waist emphasis. But, I repeat, this is what worked for me; overall, fashion is such a personal experience. Anna has a great selection of videos and you can choose which advice to take or modify according to your lifestyle, without loosing your essence and personality. Best wishes!
I believe as long as your clothes are ironed, you make sure they fit well and the outfit looks coherent (all the colours and fabric go well together), then you will look elegant even if you want to wear casual. Your posture and the way you carry yourself in general makes all the difference
I used to neglect myself (clothes, skin, nail etc.) because I thought I am good enough comfy & "naturally". Then I found Anna. I changed my mindset and started to change my style before I got pregnant. Since then I've found my style: casual elegant, and I've built a minimal, quality wardrobe. PS: Turned out it is possible to look decent with a baby/ toddler too! (I also have a dog)
How did you do it with a toddler? I have a one year old. I need to be able to have clothes that allow me to lie down to breastfeed him, sit on the floor to play with him, clothes that are easy to wash because he puts baby food on everything, clothes that do not require ironing…. And so on and so on.
@@broccolipropagandai love button up shirts! coolibar is a brand that makes 50spf fabric (which in this case is just a bonus) but my shirts from them specifically are easy to wash & don't need ironing (i do hang them to dry on a hanger, but they dry fast). i can sweat in them, spot clean, play in them & the fabric is durable. i'll even wear them with active shorts & sneakers, but because it's a proper shirt it's *elevated*
I haven't worn a skirt or dress in over thirty years. After Anna's advice I have bought both and also tights/shorts so my weight doesn't discourage me. It is nice getting compliments. Thank you Anna. 🇦🇺😊💖
I look at Pinterest and I get an idea of an outfit that’s put together, then I go to my closet and pull out that same outfit. Then when I get up the next day, I have a great outfit that I can wear I’m retired and I’m 68 and I always do that every night, makes my life easier😊
@@Oceangirl1234 you would be better off creating your own boards in your free time so that you have a helpful, personalized guide the next time you are shopping. It's helpful to make a "finding your style" board and analyze which colours/silhouettes/moods are recurring in what you save to figure out your style too!
Helpful, THANK YOU!! I'm going to build outfit categories in my closet for days I'm rushing. I took The Elegant Stylist course. SO HELPFUL to get clear on ME, MY style. It cleared up for me what to NOT BUY anymore! I now see items while shopping, "Ooh love this - on someone else!" I have truly ELEVATED my style thanks to watching both free videos and the paid content by Anna for many years now. I'm 55. I love my style of casual elegance, and I get compliments regularly. THANK YOU for this work your do for women, Anna!!! 💕
Some of us were already taught this from our moms it’s good you’re here to help others because some women surely do not care about looking presentable.
Anna!! You nailed it. We entertain ourselves only at occasions and forget to enjoy the femininity on a daily basis in between the hassles of life. That was a very sweet and thoughtful reminder. ❤️❤️
Anna! You’re also hitting an important point - the environment! Thank you for discouraging random shopping. Thoughtful wardrobe building is environmentally friendly! ❤
Cotton midi dresses and white sneakers are also my go-to. I have stomach issues and sometimes swell up to 10cms per day so a dress not only looks more put together, but is much more comfortable.
Thank you for your videos. I like the fact that you're humble and down-to-earth and talk about your progression towards your ultimate, highest self-expression while showing how by example to tailor one's self-expression to desired values. You walk us, the audience through your thought processes about the whys and hows of self-presentation which is very beneficial.

I think this video applies to women of all ages. Being stylish doesn't mean to spend tons of money on a lot of things but spending smartly on clothes that are a good fit and good quality. Great video as always Anna!
I really appreciate you Anna. I have learnt alot from your elegant tips. Please keep it up. I also encourage my friends and siblings to follow you on TH-cam.
Will your next cideo cover the most sustainable fabrics so we can avoid cheap fast fashion? And can you also please share stores and brands that are quality?
Thank you Anna, I have been following you for years, and learned awhile ago from you that I like cropped pants with various shirts. Found a style at BR and have them in various colors and they have a little stretch so, are great for me to travel and everyday. I also wear dresses, both of the styles for me work with a slide, a boot or a trainer depends on the season. You have taught me a lot!
You are so right. In my twenties I bought whatever sparked my interest. Then I built a corporate wardrobe, which then became a work from home mom wardrobe, but I always had a couple of outfits that were elevated that I could throw on and feel good in.
So interesting to see how her tips have changed over the years. I just went shopping this weekend and ofc kept her tips in mind. Very happy with my new outfits!
The most comfortable article of clothing are dresses. I can’t for the life of me understand how leggings or jeans can be comfortable, it’s completely restrictive on the skin and most leggings are made with synthetic fabrics so it’s not good quality. A casual cotton sun dress is the most comfortable thing I wear during the summer. I currently live in Florida and people here say shorts are comfortable for the summer, yet ever 5 mins they’re digging out the shorts out of their crotch lol if it was really comfortable, there would be no need for digging it out of their crotch, it would lay comfortably on the body with no adjusting required. The social conditioning in the US regarding femininity and dressing is pathetic, your content is so refreshing. In closing I must add that you look lovely in all your outfits!
Agreed. Cotton or linen sundresses all the way. I’m tweaking a little bit to account for a large high energy dog that gets mud and dirt on every pair of pants that I wear. So far the solution is fitted cotton pants in a dark neutral from the autumn palette (I’m some sort of autumn) and have fun with the tops when it’s cooler. Thus far the dog has spared my shorts skirts and dresses. I’m still figuring it out for the summer. I have it worked out for the cooler months but not warmer months yet with the pooch lol
I love dresses and skirts and agree It is easier to get comfortable in dresses and skirts . But I wear shorts, jeans on the weekend. They give a different vibe- sporty, carefree. Also they are very convenient for running around, climbing up on the play ground, working in the yard etc. Shorts can be very comfortable if it is the right size and fit, with breathable material. I have a few pair of linen shorts, they are very comfortable to wear in hot summer. Jeans are great for colder weather. Again, the right size, fit are very important to ensure comfort.
My take away from this was that you walk your dog 4-5x per day. This is a testament to your gentle and loving nature and it made me respect you even more my dear Anna.
@juliestulberg3339 I love dogs, but they are filthy, and it's not classy to own a canine. Bathing it, brushing it, and putting bows in its hair doesn't detract from the fact that it licks its anus and then licks you. Sorry hon!
@juliestulberg3339 Nah. Dogs aren't exactly sophisticated, sorry, everyone. Even the cleanest dog has fecal matter in their mouths 100% of the time. I love dogs, but they don't belong in your homes and especially not your beds.
I went to a college were people dressed to impress everyday and it had a major influence on my daily life. Even if I wear jeans, I don't wear sweatshirts or just a printed tshirt. Its elevated with a nice cozy sweater or collared shirt. If I wear leggings, I have the matching fitted jacket and sneakers. My hair is up in a neat bun and I always put simple earrings and a necklace on no matter what. I rather put on a pretty sundress, than just throw on anything to go outside. Its a habit that means, even when I'm just going to Starbucks, I am comfortable but I still look put together. Everything matches, everything fits well, and most importantly, everything is COMFORTABLE. No one has to look terrible to be comfortable. Just consciously never bring sloppy clothes home. Buy the whole look and its like automatically set.
Dear Ann you have a strong motivation to work on your style as your shape is perfect and you can find your size in every high fashion shop.I used to go to fashion stores and have not found quality garment for my size as 16/18 size is not sold in Massimo Dutti or even Zara,I have big bum so most of trousers I like do not fit me but 18 size is produced in a baggy style clothes that I don’t like.I am trying to lose weight but it is not easy in menopausal age so I don’t like shopping as not much choice and convenience.I like you very much!Greetings from Poland
The Elegant Stylist is one of the best courses I have taken and keep going back to. I will recommend it yesterday, today and tomorrow. Thank you and love you Anna Bet.
The best course ever! My friends tell me what happened to you, you dress complety differece. I feel so good, the best investment. Thanks Anna, love your videos and all the info you share.
I like wearing my various converses with dresses any various outfits, as well as sandals, boots etc....I love wearing linen, cotton shirts, denim, dresses, skirts, capris, etc
Mid-waist & a darker color. Keep it simple. Do a colorful top that draws the eye up. I don’t usually tuck a shirt in, I just make sure they are not too long.
There’s very good tips for pants (and other clothes) on a YT channel called petite dressing. I’m not petite, just average height, but I found the tips to be very useful. I get extreme bloating in my belly due to a health condition, and her tips have told me what styles to avoid and do instead to not draw attention to my belly.
Hello!Anna l always love your fashion style.you’re smart and beautiful woman. l have been following you about 8 years or more. My only concern is, about your clothing line. Is not affordable for people like me. Some of your followers make 60,000 a year. I know, your signature is of the highest-quality fits clothing classic and elegant clothing. Which is good because you want all women to look good and decent in clothing.. And look expansive. Thanks Anna, Your teaching has helped me to know how to dress appropriate❤
I completely agree with all of this. Then again, I always love your content. I too found that my shopping was a bit haphazard, and I wasted money. I wanted to upgrade my casual look, and make it easier to do so too. I began to only invest in staple pieces and focused on quality fabrics. It has made all the difference. And I don’t have to have a huge closet. It’s so easy to mix and match, all while looking more elegant and polished. Yet, incredibly easy to style when I’m rushing. I actually almost never wear jeans. Soon I may be able to eliminate them all together. As they don’t fit with my style. They tend to be a look for around the house … when I’m cleaning the garage.
What i did to change my style was getting rid of all my “comfortable clothes” because if i didnt have them i would not pick them , i bought every item from scratch classic and i took good attention on details and well fabrics. That now even my everyday casual outfits feel so much elevated and thoughtful
This is precisely what I needed and I can't wait until the next video. I usually just go for a basic v-neck tee, dark jeans, and my white leather sneakers.
Anna, terrifically helpful tips, as always. The word ‘dumpy’ is quite commonly used in everyday English to denote, um, casual ‘inelegance’, the very look you were first describing as terrible.
I have an inverted triangle body type, and the midi dress like Miss Anna wearing in this video really looks good on me plus I love white sneakers😊 Perfect combo ❤ I’ve learn a lot from her, and I love her 😊
Can you post some sites, stores, where the beautiful crop pants and trousers can be shopped please? Love this video! I believe most of us are seeking quality but not extremely out of budget.
Hi Anna. I am 62 years old, love your elegance and always classy look ❤ Since I am always wearing dresses, I will be happy if you can recommend a few sneakers that look nice with dresses. Thank you ❤
I have gotten into shirt dresses and Lily silk thanks to you. Still working on my style uniforms but it got better! I need the elegant stylist course- i lost 30 lbs and have not purchased any new clothing yet - but I basically need an entire new wardrobe!
Hello Anna, I think I can help with your question. I love being a woman and I’ve long enjoyed fashion and being feminine. I have been into fashion for years. Have all the clothes, accessories, shoes, handbags, jewelry and makeup. It’s no longer being worn. It’s money wasted. Not only do I rarely, if ever, have an occasion to wear it, but it’s becoming dangerous to do so. I used to dress nice even on casual days for mundane activities and errands. Not anymore! It immediately puts a target on your back. I dress down, and I leave my jewelry at home. My hair is tied up, and I seldom wear makeup. It’s very, very sad this is the world we now live in. I’m now in the process of minimizing and selling my wardrobe and jewelry items. I’ve had to find ways to be feminine without making myself a target. And my safety is 100% my priority now. I have no desire to look wealthy. I don’t act wealthy either. In fact, I shun it more than ever. Females everywhere are being targeted. It’s sad, it’s scary, and it’s simply dangerous. So please be careful. PLEASE.
Anna, as far as I see you are aware of trends and right mindsets. Would love to watch some video on the topic of "time". I mean how we can save time to learn things and create ourselves more.
I now shop with a plan , and I stick to it. I use to settle for a piece of clothing or shoes if I couldn’t find the exact one I was looking for. Now I have clothes I love and wear and I look put together.
Hello Anna! Thank you for helping me level up my life! I do love the new direction you have taken about the real meaning of leveling up ones life; certainly more important than being posh, but as a person loving fashion I look to a few influencers that give me inspiration. That brings me to why I am commenting. You mentioned in this video that you like color and I wanted to mention to you there is an influencer on You Tube by the name of Ellena Hue, she is a rockstar when it comes to incorporating color into your wardrobe, you may be interested. :) Take good care.
I walk a big dog two - three times a day and until 2021 I used to wear cotton joggers and a cotton top and I used to feel frumpy. Now I choose relaxed cotton or linen trousers for the warm season (or linen shorts for hot weather), corduroys for colder season. I pair it with my usual cotton, cotton/hemp, linen, linen/silk or merino tops, wool jumpers and vests. I am a Soft Summer so stick to muted cool colour palette, mostly dusty pink, mauve, various shades of purple, navy and grey with some burgundy accents. Easy to mix for a casual look. But… I happen to sacrifice the look for comfort and replace a cotton waxed jacket for a waterproof plum-coloured sport jacket as it’s lightweight. Not too happy about it, but that purple looks great on me 🙈
I would love to see a video on classy workout gear (of course to be worn while actually exercising)! I try to make exercise part of my everyday routine and would love guidance on appropriate clothing.
Every day wear is tough. Dressing up is easy. I don’t want to look expensive just put together. Looking for to next weeks video with your suggestions. Button shirts and jeans are my go to.
Hi Anna, I love your channel and I used to always pride myself on dressing classy and elegant. Then I had two kids within two years. My body changed so much, I have 15 extra kg which is hard to lose. Pregnancy permanently changed my feet too so my old shoe collection has been donated ! I have a whole new wardrobe to buy with very little money. Its really hard to start over and understanding how to dress my new shape. Oh I long to be slender and elegant like you!
I believe it's because she knows people around the world will not give up jeans but at least she will teach them a proper pair of jeans to elevate their look instead of wearing ripped washed out jeans
Hey Anna ! Much love to you and your content ❤ You have helped me a lot personally. I would love to see your opinion on how to elevate the everyday look of a person working in healthcare ! I mostly wear scrubs in medical school, and I always feel less elevated just by going with scrubs alone. I love an elegant look, but how do I do that wearing scrubs ? Would love to see your opinion on that !! With all love.
Even though I left Europe 30 years ago, I still retain my European elegance, which always makes me look elegant. My colleagues often compliment my appearance and assume I am wealthy.
Hi Anna, my grandfather always said go put on something nice. It takes the same amount of time to put on joggers as it does to put on a pair of trousers, or a hoodie when you could put on a nice cardigan. That’s what he always said.
Greetings from India! ❤ Anna Mam you’ve always been a previous guide in my fashion transformation journey. Loved this video like I love all of yours. Thanks Mam!
Hi Anna, I own a horse ranch in Arizona and homeschool my kiddos. I’m still at a loss as to what is practical in the summer heat and with my chores 2-3x a day without looking like a ranch hand or without changing outfits 4 times a day. I always put more effort into my outfits before I run errands or leave the house but sometimes at home I feel like I’m in Amazon basic tank tops and linen shorts and 🙄… flip flops. 🧐😬😅

@@MotherLodestone I hope they delete this unnecessary garbage comment that is the opposite of what is being represented on this classy channel.
@@juliestulberg3339😂😂
LOVE this video. Well done.
What is your nationality as it's obvious you are not British?! 😅 Keep up the good effort ❤
Yess. I feel like I have been shopping with purpose recently. I still want comfort and convenience but style. Thank you for bringing it .
Could you please share some tips for styling pants or dress when you have lower belly fat?
You can wear mid waist and ensure it fits you. I have lower belly skin from my pregnancy. I also wear dresses that are A line.
I think good underwear that gives a little support and covers the lower belly is key.
Try shapewear
I love the way you talk, thanks Anna
Love this advice! I love a dress all the time. Personally LOVE the Anna Bey denim dress.
It’s heavenly! I can wear it to work, here in the states.
Hello!Anna l always love your fashion style.you’re
smart and beautiful woman. l have been following you about 8 years or more.
My only concern is, about your clothing line. Is not affordable for people like me. Some of your followers make 60,000 a year.
I know, your signature is of the highest-quality fits clothing classic and elegant clothing.
Which is good because you want all women to look good and decent in clothing..
And look expansive.
Thanks Anna, Your
teaching has helped me to know how to dress appropriate❤
Your blue dress looks amazing on you❤
Brilliant video, the random shopping was so me in the past and very relatable.
What i did to change my style was getting rid of all my “comfortable clothes” because if i didnt have them i would not pick them , i bought every item from scratch classic and i took good attention on details and well fabrics. That now even my everyday casual outfits feel so much elevated and thoughtful
Can't wait for the next video, always learning...shop with a plan and body type.
This is precisely what I needed and I can't wait until the next video. I usually just go for a basic v-neck tee, dark jeans, and my white leather sneakers.
Thank you Anna! I also love wearing a dress with a sneaker and pants/ jeans with a shirt 🩷 best combos ever!!
Anna, terrifically helpful tips, as always.
The word ‘dumpy’ is quite commonly used in everyday English to denote, um, casual ‘inelegance’, the very look you were first describing as terrible.
I have an inverted triangle body type, and the midi dress like Miss Anna wearing in this video really looks good on me plus I love white sneakers😊 Perfect combo ❤
I’ve learn a lot from her, and I love her 😊
Can you post some sites, stores, where the beautiful crop pants and trousers can be shopped please? Love this video! I believe most of us are seeking quality but not extremely out of budget.
Hi Anna. I am 62 years old, love your elegance and always classy look ❤
Since I am always wearing dresses, I will be happy if you can recommend a few sneakers that look nice with dresses.
Thank you ❤
THANK YOU ANNA ☺
Every piece is specially chosen. Elegant and unique. Create a look that is suitable? ❤❤❤❤❤
I have gotten into shirt dresses and Lily silk thanks to you. Still working on my style uniforms but it got better! I need the elegant stylist course- i lost 30 lbs and have not purchased any new clothing yet - but I basically need an entire new wardrobe!
you always look stunning on color blue.
PLEASE.
OMG where do you live so i never go?
What a cutie pie! (Dog) 🥰
Hi A!! As always, thanx for your beautiful tips. After all these years you still feel updated and fun...have a great summer, see you in the next one🌺
The colour of your clothes you're wearing makes your face glow ❤
Thanks Anna, i just love the way you talk and teach ❤
Anna, as far as I see you are aware of trends and right mindsets. Would love to watch some video on the topic of "time". I mean how we can save time to learn things and create ourselves more.
Thank you for this reminder. I have become way too casual and slovenly. I need to pull it together!
Me too
Wonderful sound advice from Ana.
I now shop with a plan , and I stick to it. I use to settle for a piece of clothing or shoes if I couldn’t find the exact one I was looking for. Now I have clothes I love and wear and I look put together.
You're completely right! Casual attire is the most common, yet the most ignored.
I like the way you've done this video, it reminds me of a ted talk!
Not too happy about it, but that purple looks great on me 🙈
I always look the best I can and matched and I love it 😍
I would love to see a video on classy workout gear (of course to be worn while actually exercising)! I try to make exercise part of my everyday routine and would love guidance on appropriate clothing.
I'd avoid crop tops and anything that is too tight.
Dear Anna, I was surprised you suggested jeans,,. For me, to stop wearing jeans to elevate the look was one of the best advises from you ❤
I believe it's because she knows people around the world will not give up jeans but at least she will teach them a proper pair of jeans to elevate their look instead of wearing ripped washed out jeans
Thank you, Anna. You have really helped me class up my style as well as my mindset.
Your advice is great and I love your style. Do you have suggestions for clothing for those of us on a budget?
Another good video from Anna. Thank you 🙏 ❤
I am doing the one year no shopping challenge.
Hello Anna
What can be wear over the dress if it is too cold ?
A cardigan, blazer, jacket ?
Thanks for your suggestion and your valuable lessons.
Thank you. You just taught me something I wasn’t taught. I’m 60 years old. This will save me a ton of money and aggravation. Thank you!
Thanks Anna. Very helpful! Love your channel and fashion advice!
Love 💕 ya - I need a whole new wardrobe I’m 50 this year still young however need a restock
Even though I left Europe 30 years ago, I still retain my European elegance, which always makes me look elegant. My colleagues often compliment my appearance and assume I am wealthy.
Thank you for this fantastic video Anna😊
That vid was VERY helpful Anna! Thank you and kisses from Greece!
Absolutely loved this content in your video and all of your tips, thank you!
Hi Anna, my grandfather always said go put on something nice. It takes the same amount of time to put on joggers as it does to put on a pair of trousers, or a hoodie when you could put on a nice cardigan. That’s what he always said.
Greetings from India! ❤
Anna Mam you’ve always been a previous guide in my fashion transformation journey. Loved this video like I love all of yours. Thanks Mam!
A much needed vlog. Thank you Anna for making this❤️❤️❤️
Love love looooveddd this video Anna!!! ‼️‼️‼️❤️
One good outfit for special occasions
Could you make a video about certain age groups? Because what looks chic for one group might look too serious or too sloppy for another. And a video about accessories would be interesting too
Thank you so much Anna my stayle changed 70% better after I found your channel 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
Anna Dear, you look so good in that dress🥰
