In general, I like your advice, but I realized that trying to copy 'old money style' makes me look like a grandma, and I'm only 26 years old. The secret of good style is good materials, dressing in accordance with proportions and age. It is also important to find universal and classic pieces that resist trends, they will always be in fashion.
I search secondhand sites and thrift stores for classic items in 100% natural fibers. They will never be identical to pieces anyone else has. My mother, who lived to be 84, always dressed in classic yet stylish outfits. She was very petite and took great care not to wear clothes that overwhelmed her small frame. Her advice was to pay attention to fit and fabric. Nothing too tight or too baggy. Only natural fabrics like silk, cashmere, suede, leather, wool and cotton. Simple prints that were not too busy. And always age appropriate - no puffy shoulders or high heels on an older woman! She used bags, scarves and jewelry to change it up and not look frumpy.

A minimizer is a must! One that pulls the breasts in, towards the middle, instead of them sitting out towards the arms. This helps your chest look less wide. A jacket that is tailored to nip in at the waist is very flattering. Blouses need to fit with the shoulder seam in the correct place. You may need to have your blouses tailored to fit your shoulders and bust, as many times if a shirt fits at the bust, it will be too large in the shoulders. Low cut styles do not look sophisticated on a larger bust, IMO, but an off the shoulder style can look nice on some body types.
Yes please!!! The only thing that I know to do is wear v neck style of tops, and on me personally I have found to be very beautiful, anything else, and it makes me feel like they are larger than they really are.

About the colours of pumps (or shoes in general) I believe the DEPTH of the colour is the key not the colour itself. On the examples you show is noticeable. Bubblegum coloured pump in a flat/shallow tone is tacky but in a depth tone, is nice. Same with blue/green. Like paintings. You know a painter is good when their paintings have a depth to it, like you can enter it, and is not a flat, childish like paint. And a painter is excelent if it can paint light and water.

Anna, thank you so much for the obvious work you put into your videos. This has become my absolute favorite classic style/elegance channel, and I appreciate it so much! Always top tier!
I couldn't agree more about the 'sausage styling'. Many people either don't realize (or couldn't care less) that each different size and cut of a particular item will look flattering on some body types and not others. I haven't worn jeans in many years, but as a 5'2" woman with an 'apple' shape and a short torso, finding a flattering pair was always a challenge. I notice the clinging-like-a-coat-of-paint look on so many women wearing jeans (not saying that men can't wear ill-fitting clothes too, but I pay more attention to women's styles). I suspect that some would like to pass up their jeans for more elegant/classic clothing, but are reluctant to stand out. I feel life is too short to wear ubiquitous jeans or always 'dress down' if one doesn't want to.
Hello Anna! I agree with you in most items but the last one. The denim skirt might look outdated in its mini version, yet not in the midi one. Plus the 2000s one was low rise, when now is mid or high rise and has belt loops. A belt always adds elegance! So, well combined and in a more current style the denim skirt is definitely a Do! Take it, for example, with a good quality shirt and knee high boots. Moreover, add a proper jacket to it. Exudes relaxed elegance!
I think a motorcycle jacket is a staple, but as you say, the overall look, the quality of the fabric and the cut are important. It also depends what the person wears it with. Accessories and shoes can make or break an outfit.
I think the issue of colorful shoes boils down to its amount of chroma, its "neon-ness." Once, I read an article that explained that every color can be neutral, as long as it's a subtle shade and not overly bright.
Moto jackets haven’t felt current to me for several years now. I’m keeping mine because good leather is expensive, but I’m much more likely to wear a leather blazer, or other style jacket, these days.
😺Anna it okay to use this items of fashion dependig on your syle if you are dramtic it okay to use a lether jaket if your romatic it okay use skinny jean if you are modern its okay to use neon colors ❤ every one can look classy in their uniqe style♥

There are these jackets used here in Slovenia, in the mountains, they look so cheap and kind of like you were wearing a plastick bag. That needed to be on your video😆
People are going to fight you over the skinny jeans! LOL I still love the look of them on everyone! I wore mine with a pair of Dr. Martens, an Adidas blackwatch plaid bomber jacket, hair in a pony tail and makeup. I got lots of looks and I am 64!! Oh, not so elegant but youthful and fun to wear.
I have bought my first denim skirt in 3 decades just now. It's from Sandro new collection and believe me it's very well made, short but not too short and in a strong and very good fabric. Looks modern but not "trendy" like those midi and straight ones from last year you could see on so many (young) women. 😝
Thank you for your great styling advise. I really learned so much and I love your style! I am looking now for fabrics that look elegant, but are being produced in an animal friendly way. So no silk or cashmere or leather, for example. Do you may be have any recommendations for that?
I notice most of the "checked prints" that don't work are large and loud contrast, intentionally. The classic ones are very small and subtle, just past the category of solids.
Yes! She should look into it. I'm convinced Anna is a FN with a curvy shape. I'm not surprised she hates skinny jeans on herself. She looks beautiful in unconstructed, flowy things i.e flowy pants 💖
Loved the detailed video. Hoping you could do a video on wool items. For example, what styles are good and when to wear them. There are quality patterned sweaters but not sure if it’s elegant. When is it best to wear cardigans. Etc
Love these kind of videos! 🥰 I agree with everything except the skinny jean… I struggle understanding the issue with those. I understand they may not be the ideal choice for plus size ladies. They mostly look good on slim people with long legs, so if you are that type (me 😅), then what is the issue? I find that I actually look best with skinny jeans (slim at the most) and wider leg trousers just don’t look as good on me personally. It’s less about my personal opinion and taste - I love wider leg styles in general and on others, but my body really suits skinny jeans better, it brings out the best in me. And isn’t that ultimately the most important?
Anna, what are your thoughts on wearing heels when you are very tall? I dress very elegantly, and prefer skirts and dresses. I personally find flats very unflattering to the legs when wearing pencil skirts. And I love in general how heels look, my husband also loves my height and doesn’t mind it when I wear it. However I am 177cm/5’10.. Should I stick to flats not to look too overpowering?
Skinny jeans will look good and stylish on skinny ladies. Some slim ladies have chunky legs that's why it looks tacky. Even Anna Bey legs are not slim thats why it doesnt look good on her as well.
Anna. Thank you. Watching your videos has been an eye opener. I started cleaning my closet and found out about 75% of items in my closet has go. I am unsure if this is a curse or blessings. it seems I would have to replace almost everything. It is still fall, but the part of the US where I resides the winter seems to have arrived sooner than expected. I have a small budget to replace the items I will need for the winter/spring. Do you have any idea? Or would you mind presenting a topic on this type of situation? Thank you.
No horizontal stripes ? My french self is crying 😂 More seriously, Anna, you get a point, thin stripes are not very "trendy"... we tend to chose striped patterns with thicker stripes. It looks more modern for sure ! 🙏
Such a valuable video! I don’t often promote books, but the book women’s magic truths on borlest is an exception. It’s packed with insights on wealth and self-care that are not widely known. All the best to everyone
My dad was definitely a fan of the classic elegant look, and even in the late 90's and early 2000's, he hated his daughters wearing jeans shirts. And they were definitely very big during that time frame
Oh the skinny jean, the only style I can wear for my short, slim but curvy bottomed frame 🥲I love wearing them with knee high boots though. I managed to find some skinny trousers that are actually more of a slim fit which are amazing and don't suffocate my ankles but those are a rare find. Usually 'slim-fit' look more 'straight' on my skinny legs and make me look like a wardrobe. The struggle is real.
Amazing content in this video! I rarely suggest anything in comments, but the book women’s magic truths on borlest is a game-changer. It provides deep knowledge on wealth and self-care that can really make a difference. Take care, everyone
Lovely collection! I bought my first LV when I was 25 and I only used that bag a few times, haha. Also, love your clutch! I have an Eva clutch in the DE print and love the little chain. But I don’t want to spend so much money on it now, I have been *yutulu* buying the bag I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things. Durability
Could you share more about the vertical stripe, which ones are acceptable? Also vertical stripe that looks put together. Not sure if you share brands here, but that would also be helpful.
I would love a video for women who want to look elevated but do not live in cities or stay at home mums where you want to look elegant but need to be able to cook/clean/ chase children/dogs ect 😂 Or is there a way to have a hard wearing elegant base that you can level up if you have to go to the shops ect?
I agree on the black horizontal stripe. I purchased a sleeveless tee last year in that stripe and for some reason I just didn't like myself in it. I do however love the way I look in blue striped tees and sweaters. What is it about that? Gave my skinny jeans up and I used to have colorful straight leg jeans. Gave those up as well. I felt frumpy in them. I am almost 68 years old and new to your channel. I want to look relevant and I love the classic looks. I agree that the checked and plaid blazers are classic and will always be. I am all about comfort and balance in shoes, so I don't wear heels anymore.
Hi Anna, I hope you're doing well. I enjoy watching your videos. I had an idea for a video that I thought you might enjoy doing : Emily in Paris has been a topic of discussion for a while and I think it could be really fun if you did a style critique of her outfits. Thank you again for all your amazing content :)
I have to disagree about the skinny jeans. I’m an hourglass shape with naturally thin shapely leg (very active). My long legs are one of my best features. If I wear flared or straight legs I lose some of my shape.
I really like this segment. Especially the artistic colorful styles. Is there a tutorial for those more artistic colorful styles of dressing? Is there a name for that style?
I wear what I find nice and comfortable anyway! My wardrobe is very varied and I certainly don't let trends drive me crazy I buy everywhere but I still go to thrift stores for vintage I'm wearing my baggy jogging suit and pumped clogs now
Oh please don't feel old. I am 55 and would not want to go back a day. Enjoy your time. Maybe seek out the Tracy Anderson exercise videos online for apple shaped ladies. Peace to you!
If you don't want to look like you're wearing cheap skinny jeans, only buy ones that have 1 or 2% spandex/lyrca and the rest is cotton. Any jeans with polyester, rayon, etc. mixed in, or with a high percentage of stretch, will look cheap from a mile away. 98%+ cotton jeans are not expensive or hard to find either, I bought like 5 pairs from Old Navy just a couple of years ago and they were under $40. You just have to read the label/product description.
Actually to me, high heels and jeans, especially skinny jeans, look tarty. Kitten heels maybe, or ballet flats, but it’s hard to make sky high heels look ‘classy’ to me…
It's like eating one and the same breakfast for years when you are not creative. People are made like that - in order to be thrilled all life we change things. I don't follow most fashion trends but I can feel what is dated and put it on a shelf. Seasons are changing, new fruit and veggies grow in each month, people are different and unique, so it's a beauty of life to change and create.
I have never owned a pair of skinny jeans. They don't make my shape look skinny. Like you said, sausage legs. I've been wearing low rise jeans for 20 years. I only wear them out and not everyday so they have lasted.. I am curvy fit and 130lbs . The hardest part, is finding a fitted top that is long enough to not show my stomach. I get complements all the time and women asking where did you get your jeans? I own 8 pairs.
Same. Skinny jeans are the only jeans that I like and that suit me, and I don't really care about other people's opinions so I'm just wearing them no matter the trend. 🤷🏼♀️
I think that classic pieces are more objectively flattering. They create ideal proportions rather than emphasizing a trendy (less classic) silhouette. If an item has intricate details, these must be high quality. Poorly crafted detail will look dated quickly. However well made details can elevate a classic to the realm of fine craftsmanship and/ or artful fashion.

Agree with you…it’s really hard to look classy in skinny jeans..I think the trend is over for now
It’s been a trend now for over a decade 🥲
There are these jackets used here in Slovenia, in the mountains, they look so cheap and kind of like you were wearing a plastick bag. That needed to be on your video😆
I actually have been loving the denim skirts this year and even bought 3
People are going to fight you over the skinny jeans! LOL I still love the look of them on everyone! I wore mine with a pair of Dr. Martens, an Adidas blackwatch plaid bomber jacket, hair in a pony tail and makeup. I got lots of looks and I am 64!! Oh, not so elegant but youthful and fun to wear.
Love how you jump into the content and the pace is good too. Your photos help.
Are you familiar with Kibbe body types? I feel like that’s a topic that you could really expound on for some content as well.
Yes! She should look into it. I'm convinced Anna is a FN with a curvy shape. I'm not surprised she hates skinny jeans on herself. She looks beautiful in unconstructed, flowy things i.e flowy pants 💖
Kibby is so dated and only fits a certain set body type it doesn't work for everyone. Especially not me.
Agreed. Soft Dramatic here. For me the Waterfall Jackets look good, because they flatter my body type, but I also agree that they look a bit dated.
I love videos like this from you. They're short and sweet but very informative. Can't wait for the next one!
Thank you.
I love striped shirts, horizontal and vertical. Horizontal T-shirts are good layering pieces..
Anna, just live your videos! You are so classy and elegant, but down to earth at the same time! Live your insights! ❤😊
No horizontal stripes ? My french self is crying 😂 More seriously, Anna, you get a point, thin stripes are not very "trendy"... we tend to chose striped patterns with thicker stripes. It looks more modern for sure ! 🙏
The variety of textures in the *yutulu* pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
I personally dislike over saturated trends. Thank you for always being an inspiration Anna ❤
Leather pants are uncomfortable and that has a lot to do with elegance. Uncomfortable = Unelegant.
Heels are uncomfortable. So heels are not elegant then.
I’ve missed these videos. I love the new more subtle Anna but I do love the fashion advice too
Amazing content in this video!
Durability
Anna, You're AMAZING!
Fashion and styling advice is my favorite Anna Bey content ❤
Could you share more about the vertical stripe, which ones are acceptable? Also vertical stripe that looks put together. Not sure if you share brands here, but that would also be helpful.
I would love a video for women who want to look elevated but do not live in cities or stay at home mums where you want to look elegant but need to be able to cook/clean/ chase children/dogs ect 😂 Or is there a way to have a hard wearing elegant base that you can level up if you have to go to the shops ect?
What do you think of quince?
Hey Anna! Is wearing white pants in fall or winter okay?
Anna you are amazing..thanks for sharing your style. ❤
I just bought an indigo color A line denim skirt 🤦♀️😩
I really like this segment. Especially the artistic colorful styles. Is there a tutorial for those more artistic colorful styles of dressing? Is there a name for that style?
Thank you. Good reminders.
I wear what I find nice and comfortable anyway! My wardrobe is very varied and I certainly don't let trends drive me crazy I buy everywhere but I still go to thrift stores for vintage I'm wearing my baggy jogging suit and pumped clogs now
This video is f a n t a s t i c! 🙌🏼
please do more about looking youthful. i'm 30, apple shape and i feel frumpy. i wear wrap style tops ans bootcut jeans but i just feel old haha
Oh please don't feel old. I am 55 and would not want to go back a day. Enjoy your time. Maybe seek out the Tracy Anderson exercise videos online for apple shaped ladies. Peace to you!
@@spirituallysafe thankyou so much!!
Anna, this is truly amazing❤I mean the work tou do and all your teaching. ❤❤❤
Always had problem with colorful denim 🤔
Agree about the fabric. It’s challenging to find natural fibers.
Hi Anna, love this video! Would you consider doing one geared towards accessories as well?
But skinny jeans looks the best on me 😅 And yes, I tried different types.
Same ! There the most flattering for me and trust me I’ve tried others
They're also the best for my slim and long figure. BUT I've never worn often jeans. I always will prefer other trousers/pants than jeans.
Same. Skinny jeans are the only jeans that I like and that suit me, and I don't really care about other people's opinions so I'm just wearing them no matter the trend. 🤷🏼♀️
Some body shapes look great in skinny jeans. But I would then wear the straight or cigarette style to look more modern
Wear what YOU want!
What so you think about Kibbe body types Anna Bey
❤thank you for this useful information please keep up the amazing inspiration you provided Anna
I’m sad that the classic leopard print gets ruined by trends and mass saturation.
Agree. I hate this look in all colours!
Anna I follow you for years never get tired of your knowledge ,Thank you for everything .Hugs from Canada ❤
I don't like check print but I do love a good plaid print, say in a blazer.
