  • In this video, Dr Irfan Ahmed PT will discuss in detail the complete treatment of Patello Femoral Pain or Patello Femoral Stress syndrome or Condromalacia Patella or Pain around the patella or also front knee pain. The first line of treatment of any pain is active rest, then icing for 2-3 days, 2-3 times per day. Heating Pad can be applied around stiff muscles to reduce the stiffness of the muscles. Soft tissue may also help to reduce the stiffness of the muscles. Patellar mobilization is helpful to decrease the pain due to Patellar Cartilage inflammation. Taping around the patella is applied to keep the patella aligned in position. Open Patella Brace is also recommended for Patello Femoral Pain. Best exercises and stretches are given:-
    1) Quads Activation
    2) Active SLR
    3) Terminal Knee Extension
    4) Bridging For Glute Strengthening
    5) Elastic Resistance Exercise (For Quads Strengthening)
    6) Elastic Resistance Exercise (For Glutes Strengthening)
    Self-Stretching of Quads, Hamstrings and IT band and calf muscles is also given. APRC believes to simplify complicated medical information for everyone so they can fully help their loved ones.
