    I’m new to the Shiro’s purchased my first one. This one recently with micarda inlays the knife center exclusive. I feel like it’s a nice knife to target all the knives in the 600dollar range. Which I think will be competitive.

    I don’t get this line. The F95NL and NeOn NL basically filled this role for a similar price. Unless those are going to be rebranded under this line then it just feels like they’re rehashing what they’ve already been doing. I’d like to see the old G10 Hatis on washers come back before something like this imo.

      From a marketing perspective (as well as not to seem to be gouging the buyer) they should include the relevant 1/4” driver bits necessary for disassembly. Having to buy a Shirogorov tool at $300+ seems grossly opportunistic. I know there’s a 3rd party maker who’s producing more affordable bits, but they’re still not cheap. I’m aware of the hacks ( penny, dime, etc) that will suffice in a pinch, or ground-to-fit flathead bits wrapped in tape, but those are not in keeping with the spirit of the knives’ quality. Too, on some of the higher end pieces, the hardware has completely different configuration that modified bits won’t work on.

    • @Jubakuba
      @Jubakuba 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@quaxenleaf That and practically every Shiro on the secondary market has "marring on the screws" in the notes due to the owner having to use those hacks...or maybe even due to the actual manufacturer bits...
      They definitely should stop that bullshit. But god knows they won't after all these years.

    You must need to spend a bunch of money to get better packaging because my purple carbon fiber 111 Gen 5 came in the same box and cost twice as much! That sort of threw me off from buying another Shirogorov! Because honestly, the action and feel of my $200 Green Thorn Sigma copy is just as good as the 111!
    I expected the 111 to feel more like my Rockstead or CR!

    I’m not aware of any Shirogorov knife that doesn’t come in a black cardboard box that looks similar to what you show with the exception being the collaborations as those come in a tan box. I’ve never seen packaging for a full custom knife so I can’t speak to the packaging on those.

      Then someone else says that it’s ridiculous that the blade isn’t polished, and that it only takes a little time. Someone else thinks it’s ridiculous that they didn’t spend $20 more on packaging. Then someone else thinks it’s ridiculous that there isn’t a fuller milled into the blade. Not gonna lie, I've had knives drop shut on an inconsistent basis, but I didn't quite understand until I got my first MRBS knives. I do not have a single MRBS knife that isn't gravity shut or glassy smooth. I'm no engineer or physicist, but in my experience, MRBS is just objectively better every single time. That being said, if that's as big of a deal as it might be, maybe just meausre the pivot and get some MRBS skiffs.
    Boyyyyyyyyy the back of that blade looks like it comes pretty darn close to the scales when closed...
    From a price / product standpoint... It's interesting... and maybe I just know my OWN personal tastes and emotions... but there would be something that just didn't sit well with me about this being my one and only Shiro. For lack of a better word, it's "The poor man's Shiro". Whether accurate or not, I would always have that voice in the back of my head saying "It's TECHNICALLY a Shiro... but it's not REALLY a Shiro...". Of course, it IS a Shiro, and it's MADE BY Shiro, but something just feels weird about a company coming out with a knife that is substantially less expensive than all of their other options and trying to convey that it's somehow "The same". It's "The same", but it's different, and I feel like all the things Shirogorov collectors like about Shiros are somewhat lost in this, so you've got this weird situation where this knife becomes "The Shiro for non-Shiro people" and the "real Shiro people" just stay away.
