We grind on a 14” wheel now and that gives our large knives a more robust edge and a very slight hollow grind. Small knives are ground on a 10” wheel and that gives them a very slight hollow grind. We really appreciate the feedback and have adjusted!
Crucible / CPM steel in the 💩 er? Going into bankruptcy, apparently. Hopefully they will be bought by another company. No more CPM knife steel production would suck.
Love their quality and their business, but dislike the design turn they took. The Dawson Ranger and the Raider were some of the best looking tactical knives ever made. Now it's mostly a sort of post apocalyptic gritty look with holes everywhere...
Saw the title and hit like before even watching the video.
BROTHER so good to see ya back in action sick sick large survival blade ya got there. I been telling Gabe for months I want to try out a Dawson haha
@HeavySetTactical409 thanks man!!! I got to ship this back today!
Your videos are always informative and I enjoy the blades you review. Always like me some big blades.
I dont mind hollow grinds. As long as it's made right & one uses it correctly then it'll be fine.

If Dawson would quit with the hollow grinds I would buy one. Hollow grinds are for razors not knives.
Hollow grinds have been used for swords, daggers & knives for over 1000 years. They have their purpose when used in the right context.
@ they’re just not for me.

Came over from JYF, I’ll be lurking around my friend.
Awesome video.
A hunk of magnacut that large…if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it.
Great video, New subscriber from James at Junkyard Fox. Keep up the great work!
Glad to have ya!!!
Defective drain hole and hollow grind squelches my interest. But I appreciate the magnacut blank alone would cost me 150.

But no hole for a lanyard! No glass breaker/pummel endcap. Thin grip with gouges across.
I would go with a skrama and save.
