I really don't understand how Crucible came to bankruptcy, at the golden era of the blade market, specifically with the biggest part of the production blades worldwide are related to
Energy costs I would guess, this is actually deliberate globalist manipulation. Have scumbag politicians make energy so expensive that your manufacturing, steel etc cannot compete with China India etc...oops your just not competitive, framed like they are somehow doing it better. That's one of the ways they kill our economy.
@panagiotissoufliotis6558 I gave a detailed explanation on the de-growth globalists agenda, it was removed...tells you they don't want anyone talking about the deliberate destruction
You showed some awesome fixed blades. I’ve been adding some pocket fixed blades also. One I frequently carry is the MKM TPF designed by Bob Terzuola. I actually carry it IWB on my right side. You are so right about sheaths. If the sheath is bad, it detracts from the whole package. Yeah, you can have one made to your specifications. But it adds to the cost. And I’m not willing to do that. I’ll pick another knife that’s the whole package.
Ive had the Solidago for almost 2 years now. Its an incredible blade with many applications. Aaron Morgan(one of the Houghton Era knife designers and owners)and I have used it to clear hurricane debris and other camping needs. Its a beast of a knife that always stays sharp! MORE PEOPLE NEED THIS KNIFE!!!
Thanks for the review. It's just as entertaining to read through the comments and see what knives others think should have made your list. Here's wishing you and your family a merry Christmas, including your brother, and I look forward to see what you bring us in 2025.
I absolutely love my Reiff Circadian and agree 100% with it being on this list! It has not left my pocket since I got it. Merry Christmas to you and yours and God bless Aaron!
Super great review. Thanks a million. I opted two, first that little Overland, and second the Sissi Puukko M95. Have a superb year full of blessings for you and your beautiful family. Stay healthy, wealthy, and fair like you done all these years 🔪
BK19 is awesome, and the sheath is also excellent. I also love the Mini Bronco. It's a very handy EDC size in my opinion. Love the handle and the sheath. I have two 6.5" and one 3.5" knives from Architect Knives. All of them are BEYOND excellent. I just got the 3.5", and it's unbelievable. Great year-end review brother!
I’m new to the fixed blade scene. I just purchased the Kizer Mini Harpoon to replace my Spyderco. I added the ulticlip and have been very happy with it. God bless & thanks for the great review.
Thanks Aaron, great video! LT five is superb, and my go to belt blade in the woods. Just received AK 6.5 but haven't taken it out yet. Mini harpoon rides in pocket every day! KarBar Turok is my tactical woods knife after a few alterations.
I’ve been waiting for someone to review the Architect 5.5! I have the original Architect Field-Buddy 5.5, in CPM 3V, that they produced for Tops knives before they started marketing them under their own brand. That is my absolute favorite fixed blade. It is the first knife I would grab if the apocalypse happened. It can do everything and anything!
Got the Kizer mini harpoon and love it the tech lock was not good as you mentioned but a multi clip fixed that and is my EDC. This thing is easily sharp enough to shave with.
I have the LT5, I love how broad the blade is. I was battoning some really really hard, old wood, so knotty and burled. wicked stuff. the knife was bent in 2 different directions at once I thought for sure it would break.. but it thought... F it.. we ball... I kept hitting it, kept battoning through the knots... it exploded that thick log, and came back to dead straight, I'm telling you that knife was twisted into an S shape... amazing heat treat!
Got the Lionsteel L5 and M4 based on your recommendations in the past. My very first fixed blade was a Benchmade Bushcrafter (s30v) which has a terrible standard sheath. I have also since added a Bark River Bushcraft , and a Winkler Belt Knife ( that has the best sheath in the business imho). Only wish there was more time to use them all . 😉
Interesting list. I only have the Architect 5.5. In 2024 I also picked up the Kizer Smolt, the White River Ursus 45, the White River Ursus Cub, and a MKC Mini Speedgoat.
I bought 2 knives this year based on your reviews. The Lionsteel T6 (which you didn't feature on this video) and the Overland Sport. I love both of them and edc the Sport quite often.
I love the design of the Bronco Mini, I’ve really enjoyed using it. …but I found that mine dulled after a bit of moderate use. It’s also got some scoring on the blade edge. I think I’ve been unlucky and ended up with a knife with a bad heat treatment. I want to give this knife a chance so I will try to get a replacement sorted. I also have the Bronco Mini’s stablemate, the Naturensohn Mk 2, CPM V3, that knife has excellent edge retention and still shaving sharp after hard use. Both knives fit the same sheath.
I've lived in Colorado since April of 1983. I've worked at four different Firearms stores that I was the gun department manager for two of them. Dave Cooks and Gart Brothers.Brother's. I live west of Denver in the Rockies about 9000feet high in elevation. I like that you live in Colorado also
Another great video, you are without question the Fixed Blade Aficionado of the internet, most of the fixed blades I have are a result of your videos and thanks for the Carrols scale info, ordered 2 new sets of slabs for the 2 Buck Alpha Hunter Elite in CPM magnacut I bought after watching your video. Request, off topic, but could you do a short video on your wood storage rack behind in most of your videos. Dimensions, lumber used, etc., I know its already built but just kind of a walk through of what you used, and finished dimensions, etc., and what you change if anything if you did again now. No biggie if you can't, but you never know until you ask. Thanks
I look forward to watching your end of the year vids . I’ve bought several knives after watching your honest reviews. Thanks . May God bless you and your family this holiday season
Those organizer plastic crates are cool. By fluke I was actually looking at how they make plastic crates and cases today. It's pretty incredible how they make this plastic molding with advanced technology. I was going to buy that knife sharpener that you have on your table but they had the double sided flat Steel on special so I got that instead. But I want to get that sharpener that you have when it comes on special. But the nicest one is the one that you help to design. That's a beauty.
Love the Boker Mini Bronco with the full size handle to work with. I don't think I've ever been disappointed with a Condor sheath. They're often better than the knife.
@gideonstactical thank you for this video! I was literally watching the best fixed blades of 2023 yesterday wondering when you were going to make an updated list. You’re awesome lol. Also I appreciate you saying Merry Christmas and God bless in one of your other videos. Not many are open about that. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and that He brings blessings to you and your family!
Have an LT5 incoming. Replacing some of my TOPS. My other two best purchases this year (not 22024 releases) were the WTG MT. LAGUNA designed by Wingman 115, excellent blade and the WTGxCARNIVORA collab PANTHERA as close to any one tool option I’ve ever seen. Love the bullet proof designs of WTG, your blade design is definitely going in this category IMO, few fixed blades spec’s like the LT5 for that price point. Downsizing my collection gave up 4 TOPS for the LT5.😎🤘🇨🇦
Considering they are based in NY I don’t feel bad. NY is garbage to run a business. Over the last 10 years many of our clients, vendors and partners have moved they business out of NY because of how bad it is. It sucks for the workers but they could do it and be fine.
I'm finishing up the year with WTG Red Wolf, Kizylar Supreme Echo, Esse Fixed Xancudo, Acta Non Verba Spelter M311 no choil, Bark River Gunny LT Rampless drop point and Maxace Baal in Vanadis 4 Extra. Next year I already have my sights on stuff I wanted in the 1990's and Mora Eldris
I love the lion stee,l I have the M5 Hunter that thing is a flipping beast. lion steel is a phenomenal knives. And I will say it was your review that made me go get it, Thank you.
Reiff knives are nice but they are priced way above their competitors. I’ve heard people say that they don’t mind paying for more because of what Reiff is all about. I haven’t read or seen anything about Reiff other than they make knives as a business and have a lifetime warranty that follows the knife, but that’s not rare, that’s the norm among fixed blade manufacturers, especially US ones. Bark Rivers are nicer knives and have much more of a custom feel, you can get many steel choices, they all are hand ground, sharpened, and the handles are hand done also and they are the most comfortable knife I’ve ever used and I’ve tried almost everything. Plus the convex grind, the excellent heat treat, and no matter what you need a knife for and whatever materials you want, and in any size you want they have it. There’s also White River, Fallkniven, the Italian brands, Esee, and Tops but to be honest and fair they aren’t on the same level as the other USA made fixed blades. Reiff is charging around 100 more than other manufacturers for a similar knife but they have g10 scales, have v edges, and they are all dull finishes. There is a reason to go with a knife like that but not at 350-400. They do have a couple micarta options, but it’s only a few. If anyone can explain why they cost so much more and what this “it’s about what they stand for” business is I’m all ears. I’ve never been one to ignore new information and I’ve never been unwilling to change my views on things.
Please try the Real Steel Pathfinder folder. The scandi grind 14c blade at 3.8”, the contoured micarta scales, the cross bar lock. It’s probably my most carries pocket knife unless I’m wanting something really light or more classy. But as an edc folder or a companion folder for outdoors there’s nothing that beats it. I did put a secondary convex on it the first time a sharpened it. Not because I had edge problems with the true Scandi grind but because it’s my favorite edge and my work sharp Ken onion does a convex on what you sharpen on it. I did strop it a few times with my strop and compound using the scandi flat and it stropped back to hair popping shape. Real Steel is a way underrated knife maker especially for outdoor/bushcraft knives. They have great line of fixed blades with choices of grinds scandi, flat or true convex for under $100 and for a little over you can get the Bushcrafter plus which is a 4.5” version of the 4” Bushcrafter. They have a bunch of fixed and folders I think you’d be interested in.
Great Video Aaron 👍 , I always look forward to seeing your "Best of the Year" videos , they are always worth the wait . I bought that Esee Kukri about 10yrs ago when Ontario was making them in 1095 steel , they had rubber handles and only cost $55 on Amazon.... 👍🖖
Always go to you first! I'm trying to choose between the Cold Steel Recon Tanto in San Mai and the Spartan Harsey Fighter! Only knives to buy for Christmas. Thoughts? (I have the Recon in SK5).
I can’t wait for you to review the new Boker Bushfriend 2000, designed by DBK. I got one but my wife is making me wait till Xmas to open it. 4” saber height 80cr blade with Richlite scales, they are contoured very well. It’s like $140 I think. I really want their 20th anniversary DBK knife made by TRC, magnacut blade with a convex grind. It looks amazing like all TRC knives but at low $400’s it’s a bit of money to get one.
The design of the Kershaw Steppe seems nice, I don't see a problem with the hole, which will lighten the knife. What I do disagree with is Kershaw's choice of D2 for their budget Chinese-included steel rather than 14C28N which so many others use. The Sandvik steel is just SO MUCH better than D2 in everything except a tiny - miniscule - amount of edge retention. However, this is MORE than made up for in sharpen-ability and the fine edge 14C28N can get over D2. Regardless, I think the Steppe is a great EDC knife.
I like the BK19, but prefer the harpoon blade of the '18 - both are phenomenal around the yard though, so I switch between them and my faithful ESEEs routinely. Was hesitant to buy in on the expense of magnacut, but picked up the Reiff Circadian as an EDC and have loved it; replaced my folders completely. Could use just a bit more length on the handle but a Paracord lanyard fixed that. Otherwise, it's the perfect profile for my use. I may even pick up another one when I get some extra $$.
I just sold my Lionsteel b40, and I dont really know why. Good knife, just no pizzazz lol Nothing about it stood out. The LT5 on the other hand.. I cant get over how much I like that thing.. I added some upgrades to the sheath, both commercial and DIY for my convenience of carry and purpose, and it is just.. idk, Bro, it might be Top 3 in my whole collection, with nothing really stopping it from being #1 outside of how new it is. Got it as a Father's Day present from the family just this year, and the New Guy on the Block doesn't get to replace the one's I'd consider timeless.. But outside of that, for function, performance, comfort, steel, materials, size, aesthetic, even the people involved, meaning, you having a hand in the design, plus TJ being just such a good dude, it's American made... I fricken love that thing. I think it gets the title of Best New Production Knife that's been made in at least the last couple of years going back. That thing rocks.
G'day Aaron, a great reminder of the good, the bad and the ugly this year ......... thankfully ..... the good side ...... is very good !!! .... and the well worn, but very apt, "like a kid in a lolly shop" analogy comes to mind ; ) Btw; I have an order in for a Solidago, ......... look forward to putt'n it through a few gum tree branches ; ) Cheers Duke.
All of lionsteels knives are great values, but the fixed blade line is hitting way above its price point. I think I have 6 of them. One of them the micarta handle is one piece instead of two scales. It makes it super comfortable. They have every size and style you could want and what they do to sliepner makes it on the level of a super steel.
You can't go wrong with a Becker, I have a Becker BK9 and I freaking love it. I put a better set of scales on it and oh my God I can swing that thing all day long.
I assume you've heard of Bark River knives, right? Doesn't get much better than those. My favorite EDC is their Gunny Lt. My favorite for general use is their Bravo Lt. And their best for the camp and trail is their Bravo 1.5. I've never seen a production knife that's made better than a Bark River. They all have a transferable unconditional lifetime guarantee. Tons of handle options too.
Hello! You should try out ZaPas Expendable or ZaPas ultra outdoor or Mikov Patron if like smaller blade. Really good knifes in perspective of price and quality.
Hey brother, I'm loving the content! Having you checked out the chopper odenwolf makes? It looks very interesting to me, I'd be curious what you think about it!

@@trocha419 this company has developed at around 1900 if i m not wrong. 2000 and 2009 had serious problems that as all seems didn't solved
And they supply Spyderco with almost all of their made in America knife steel. It's really weird

That Peltonen sissipukko is an iconic classic here in northern europe...

Ah, yes. The annual "What Knife Should I Buy" video. Thank you very much.
Answer. Why not all of them.
BK19 is awesome, and the sheath is also excellent. I also love the Mini Bronco. It's a very handy EDC size in my opinion. Love the handle and the sheath. 👍 right on!
I've used the BK16 for years. I'll probably pick up the BK19 soon.
Bro I love my LT5, fantastic collaboration. The only downside is I have about 10 other fixed blades that rarely leave the safe anymore.
Yeah that one is a legend
I’m new to the fixed blade scene. I just purchased the Kizer Mini Harpoon to replace my Spyderco. I added the ulticlip and have been very happy with it. God bless & thanks for the great review.
That’s a great choice for an edc!

White river ursus 45 does it all for me
I'm curious why it didn't make the list?
Got the dlt exclusive ursus 45 in 3v with an ulti clip for edc love it, probably getting the xl scales soon
I loved this video, that was my first Christmas gift. Merry Christmas Aaron and your family, take care GBY

@@DarkBluePaperHats yeah whatever TJ is doing is all amazing. Glad to have been a part in the design process.
Ive been waiting for this list! Great job and good list as well.
Glad you enjoyed the list!
Thanks for the overview...I still carry the Lionsteel H2 daily and have for over a year. It meets all my personal needs for my EDC daily carry.
Great review Aaron. Merry Christmas to you & the crew.
Interesting list. I only have the Architect 5.5. In 2024 I also picked up the Kizer Smolt, the White River Ursus 45, the White River Ursus Cub, and a MKC Mini Speedgoat.
Which of the two knives, the Akt 5.5 or the Ursus 45, would you choose as your preferred camp knife?
Schwarz LT5 has become my favorite Fixed blade. Luv the handle, blade, & sheath
Amen man. love the Lt5 that you showed I definitely am gonna pick one of those up for myself. God bless you and your family.
Thanks for the blessing! Same to u
Just got my hands on the Overland sport yesterday from TJ’s last drop, it’s a fantastic edc, surpassed my expectations.
Glad to hear you’re happy with it!
In addition, I just ordered the sky weight chest rig from 511 and I’m a proud owner of the Solidago, your hitting for 3 for 3 old son! God bless!
Love it also, got mine at blade west and actually am carrying it right now.
Haven’t stopped carrying since the day I got it!
Love the format and variety. Happy holidays, Aaron :)
I bought 2 knives this year based on your reviews. The Lionsteel T6 (which you didn't feature on this video) and the Overland Sport. I love both of them and edc the Sport quite often.
Glad to hear you’re happy with both!
I love the design of the Bronco Mini, I’ve really enjoyed using it.

Overland Sport FTW! Also a great fixed blade in 2024 was the Boker BafF Packlite - ultralight ultra-slicy magnacut for 90 bucks!

The Lionsteel B41 is one of my all time favorite EDCs.
As usual; excellent intel! Thank you, J
My favorites are anything by Lionsteel and TOPS.
I feel you here. Good stuff, exciting and different!
My favorite fixed blades that I picked up this year is a Bark River Hunter and a White River Cub. I find myself carrying both of them often.
LT6 was my favorite knife. This was a great review.
Thanx for the video my Bladed Brother 👍⚔✝🇺🇸
TJ Schwarz - LT5, probably my favorite acquisition of 2024. Exceptional, all the way around. Zero complaints... Highly endorse it. 💯🔪
So awesome to hear!
Awesome words there at the end Bro. Amen!
Yup. 🙏🏼
Great selections. Great videos. God bless

German blades are often paragraph 42a conform which means you are allowed to carry a knife with 12cm blade length from guard to tip.
I love my B-41!! It took off a huge chunk of my finger once, cuz I was being stupid, but it’s an outstanding knife!
Great overview. Yup. The Overland Sport is a go to, all day, everyday solution. Opinions are opinions, and that is mine. Thanks.
Great video
Thanks for sharing
Merry Christmas from one Aaron to another

Always go to you first! I'm trying to choose between the Cold Steel Recon Tanto in San Mai and the Spartan Harsey Fighter! Only knives to buy for Christmas. Thoughts? (I have the Recon in SK5).
Then I would get the fighter. More versatile design
@@gideonstactical Thanks!
Can confirm the odenwolf w knives are great, I got the scandi and modified it to a convex grind, it’s been amazing with heavy usage
@@cesarvarela5438 very awesome!
@ yeah, and it was your review that got me to buy it so thanks for it
Love my mini harpoon, put a ulti-clip on it and it was my edc pocket carry for a long time, now I'm trying out the civivi vision fg
Yep. Schwartz overland sport. Gid turned me onto TJ and this piece has been my EDC for the last several months. Thanks Aaron!
Glad you are happy with it
I need to order one of those LT5's. Looks legit AF
Falling behind on the collection this year but I’ll bounce back. Next on the list:
Mini Bronco
Kizer Smolt, Cabox, or Hare
Peltonen M23
Asher Fixie
Just ordered your kizer harpoon because of your video. Your the best bro.
Got the mini Harpoon several weeks ago. Great companion/EDC blade!
Love that chopper.
I would recommend putting the names of the knifes on the screen or naming the timeline that way.
As a woodworker I'm familiar with A2 steel in Lie Nielsen handplanes, it is very good steel for the money, the edges last a long time.
Yeah A2 is a really good steel!
Thanks for this video. Greetings from Germany.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for another great vid!
I loved the sheath rattle sound effects.
Great choices 👌!
The only fixed blade i picked up in 2024 was Böker Vigtig vs Wild... and i love it
@ 27:35, the "Bad ESEE"... If you want a khukri, look to KHHI in Nepal. Could not be more happy with the blades I have purchase from them.
Glad to hear you’re happy with your Circadian!
G'day Aaron, a great reminder of the good, the bad and the ugly this year ......... thankfully ..... the good side ...... is very good !!! .... and the well worn, but very apt, "like a kid in a lolly shop" analogy comes to mind ; )
Btw; I have an order in for a Solidago, ......... look forward to putt'n it through a few gum tree branches ; )
Cheers Duke.
I’m really impressed with their fixed blades.
Fixed blades are so much more fashionable and safer knives.
Yes, I did review on the bravo 1.5 LT just recently sold it and finish left something to be desired and not a fan of the sheath. But teach their own.
Hello!
You should try out ZaPas Expendable or ZaPas ultra outdoor or Mikov Patron if like smaller blade.
Really good knifes in perspective of price and quality.
Good stuff. Thanks
Great video, as usual. I’ve got a question…. If you had an opportunity to still buy the Benchmade bushcrafter 162, would you in 2024?
No the s30c and the ergonomics to price point just aren’t there.
@ Thank you. You just saved me $330 bucks.
You really have gotta try a TKell. Those knives are amazing.
thanks for sharing
29:56 'PELL-toe-nen. And the puukko has been used in combat for centuries, so not an oxymoron.
Excellent video.
Thanks for watching!
Great ending!
LT5 BRILLIANCE!!!!🎉❤
Thanks Shelly!
Hey brother, I'm loving the content! Having you checked out the chopper odenwolf makes? It looks very interesting to me, I'd be curious what you think about it!
Yes I have it!
