***** going for the 6600k would be wiser since the difference between kabylake and skylake isnt that great. But you could wait for zen if you want. If you cant wait, then get the 6600K
Very cool guide! So focused, no blabbering and straight to the point (except for the lizard trying to connect with you), nice! Liked the setup, nice cooler and case. I'm actually tempted now to build one for myself. Thanks for sharing!
Zer0 Gravity I don't think mate! not everyone spends this much! this PC can't be called console killer! a person who has a budget for a console wouldn't be able to get this kind of pc
Zer0 Gravity, I don't think! Lets say you dont have more than $400 budget for a gaming machine (Console or PC) then what will you do? Wait till 5 more years, so that you can get the $800 pc?
Nice tutorial M8. I've been watching pc builds since forever but never got to build one from scratch. All i've been doing is helping my friends with their computers. My pc is so freaking potato right now.
thanks for this - it's actually useful - instead of just a fast-forward video of someone building with no discussion, it's actually showing us how to do it.
ive been using this case for two years and its been a joy to transport anywhere on the go and play high end games on. I put i7 4790k 4.20 ghz, gtx 970 and ssd for cooling i use 3 static pressure fans to suck from sides and blow out the top, having the case stand up on the foot stand :)
Great video! I really like the idea of tiny ITX systems like this for LANs which I do very often, but I have always liked the look of a mid tower such as a s340 elite much more.
The tiny power switch and other connectors are still a weakness for DIY builders. This is likely where people will become confused because you can reverse these or get them on the wrong pins. Kinda funny how no one has addressed this issue and made a standard non-reversable plug. Good video!
A very nice walk through! Thank you so much. Would mind taking on the challenge to build the smallest ITX with the smallest case you can find? Each year i want to see how small an ITX build could be. Cheers!
Wow, that was an amazingly concise roundup of how to throw together these parts - zero extraneous junk! ....but one thing... did you really complete the installation with that worm of thermal compound atop the CPU?
The first (and only so far) PC I've built from scratch was for my grandma for Christmas, anyone who thinks it's difficult should know that I successfully built it while not watching any tutorials nor having any clue what I was doing aside from obvious stuff like CPU installation and whatnot.
I think I'm planning to use the node 202 in my next build and go for ITX - small and quiet. I was thinking of making custom cables and getting the node variant without the built in power supply, I have never made custom cables before and I think it would be nice to make a case without having to hide a rats nest of cable.
Awesome for traveling and a lot more powerful, cooler and quieter than usual gaming laptops or consoles. i am getting things together to build one of these but i'm actiually waiting for zen! thanks for the quide
Hey everyone, in conjunction with his video building in the newer deepcool genome 2. I have the Deepcool Genome (1st Gen case) in black with green liquid. Installed is an Asus pro gaming aura z170 with a 6700k over clocked to 4.6 ghz at 1.310 for manual voltage (stable past 24 hours under full load). With the ambient temperature in my computer room at 31°C under full load using Aida 64 my Temps run anywhere from 66°C and peak at 77° after an hour with the turbo curve set in bios for the rad fans. The 6700k runs pretty hot compared to its little bothers but overall the water pump on the genome is pretty weak and doesn't deliver constant flow at full cpu load. The fans are also very thin and although decent in design, do not offer the best flow on the market for pwm fans or static pressure fans. I know I may need to reseat the block onto the cpu or redo tension screws for the mount or try different thermal paste but this is far from my first build. I've heard from others that the pump is not very strong with this case, which defeats the purpose of using a 360mm rad. :/ hope this helps. Anyone else have high Temps under full load with water cooling for their 6700k? Anyone have this case that can confirm below optimal Temps using the included cooler? anyone have the same motherboard as I do that could maybe let me know if that could be an issue adding to the high Temps? Figured I'd throw this comment on a newer vid to get more opinions. Thanks.
Ya know, I am all for lizards popping up in my home. Better than the spiders that pop up from time to time. Lucky, haha! Great video man! I already know how to build computers, but love watching a well put together build video. See ya in the next video!
I'm very tempted to build an ITX build. After building in a full size ATX, I'm more than ready to downsize. I like the space and all but I hate having to carry that thing.
samaravadi3 no because it exhausts the air in the case and then because the case is small you'll notice higher thermals for cpu. Blower blows out air at the outputs
Word of advice to PC builders whom already have a psu for a new build. The wires from the psu to the motherboard have a 24 pin connector which can't be confused, but the other 8 pin one going into the motherboard... don't wanna confuse that with the pcie gpu/graphics card power cables because you'll fry the motherboard & can easily be confused, and be hooked up wrong( by plugging pcie wires into the motherboard). That has a similar number of pins/layout! Pay attention to labels on the wires & if a psu doesn't have them labeled, then do your research before connecting that 2nd 8 pin connector. The other issue I've come across with that 8 pin connector on the motherboard... when already having a good power supply that doesn't have that connector & has a 4 pin one only, that can safely be connected onto the side of the 8 pin connector that does fit in the motherboard & will be ok. Hence confusing the pcie cables on that 8 pin connector. Cheers
Just saw you taking the sticker off the heatsink and it reminded me. Saw a PC where someone had actually taken the AMD sticker for a case and put it between the CPU and heatsink. Nearly died when I saw that.
Salazar Studio My bad! I just didnt hear the one line! Im used to people using the center screw too and when i saw you didn't use it i thought you hadnt secured it at all.
I would love to see a node 202 with a i7 7700 or i5 7600 locked, h270 mobo, C7 , 16 gb, 500 ssd, 1070 blower and a corsair sf450 psu. I think that is a proper build for a node 202. No need to overclock at all.
Just did a Mini ITX build with a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv. My advise put in the RAM before putting in the CPU fan. Trust me it will save you a headache. Also keep the fan of the CPU cooler off the radiator until you're all done. My large hands had a hard time installing all those little cables. And finally if using a full modular power supply, always plug in the 24 pin power supply to the power supply before putting the power supply in. Again trust me, you never know how small of a space you have.
this is cool and all but I would like to see you put a custom watercooling loop in the node 202,for all you nay sayers out there it has been done. Maybe not as a 1 week project but would be cool if maybe you started some long term projects on the channel
Building a PC is easy. Making it a piece of art can be a chore. Especially for people who don't understand cable management. Honestly my next build I'm aiming for something that I won't feel any shame when the back panel comes off
Very nice instructions easy for any beginner to pick up and go with. I'm liking this case my only thing is I would need more ram in there. 32gb is what I am aiming for but I don't want a huge tower I like being mobile.
Funny to see this in my recommendations. I _just_ built a silent, tiny intel i3 7100 Linux workstation with nvme and 16gb ram, using only iGPU and best quality parts. So much better to use than the noisy AMD gaming tower with buggy linux drivers I used to have on my desk. deathbat6916 Intel only approves 2400mhz and lower. If the motherboard manufacturer enables XMP then high speeds can be used, but it's not officially sanctioned by Intel.
I've built many PCs for people yet I still watch these videos. are these drugs?
That makes 3 of us.
count me 4 😂
count me 5 😉😀
its satisfaction see a computer built and that first start (awww man get the tissues out) lol
***** going for the 6600k would be wiser since the difference between kabylake and skylake isnt that great. But you could wait for zen if you want. If you cant wait, then get the 6600K
I'm a simple man: I see salazar studio's video notification, I give a like (but today I smiled beacus of this video, I was feeling sad)
You da man!
me too bro
You could have shown your lizard at least...Now i have to imagine it all night...
I love SFF builds, something about having all that power in a tiny box is so appealing.
nick187able sshhhh
+nick187able A small penis with a lot of power, just like SFF builds.
i like his builds, the voice has a cadence to it that makes listening nice
When will salad bar studio make a pc I can afford?
I have several on the channel, all the way down to $150. Try searching some time.
Salazar Studio i got three nickels and a thumbtack, what do you got for me?
I'm not gonna hold your hand while you search boi
Salazar Studio I need an adult.
Salad bar studio got me good.
Thank you! I LOVE it when people actually show me how to build the actual computer than just telling me the parts for the build.
Now I want to see the damn lizard
Very cool guide! So focused, no blabbering and straight to the point (except for the lizard trying to connect with you), nice! Liked the setup, nice cooler and case. I'm actually tempted now to build one for myself. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
do a budget build video in which you use pentium kaby lake!!!
Zer0 Gravity I don't think mate! not everyone spends this much! this PC can't be called console killer! a person who has a budget for a console wouldn't be able to get this kind of pc
Bassam Siraj g4560 gtx 1080
Zer0 Gravity well then y do youtubers even bother making budget PCs
Zer0 Gravity, I don't think! Lets say you dont have more than $400 budget for a gaming machine (Console or PC) then what will you do? Wait till 5 more years, so that you can get the $800 pc?
I dont think so Zer0. In 3 years i have saved only 600$, this is not a budget build
Always interesting watching these older videos from back in the dark ages when we had no choice but to always buy Intel cpus.
Where is a Pentium G4560 build??? :) . Or is it not released yet?
I don't have a G4560. No one sent one, and they aren't available on Amazon.
Salazar Studio shame, apparently it's the new budget king
Oh. I heard it comes out soon...... Its on the US PC Part Picker though. pcpartpicker.com/list/ssNKnn .
you can use the Pentium in the Nano S when Josh ships it to you (im the one to blame on twitter) :3
G4620 build
Nice tutorial M8. I've been watching pc builds since forever but never got to build one from scratch. All i've been doing is helping my friends with their computers. My pc is so freaking potato right now.
Unsubbed, disliked and reported because you didn't show the lizard.
/s
Didnt know what you were talking about, until he said it in the video.. Im triggered asf.
thanks for this - it's actually useful - instead of just a fast-forward video of someone building with no discussion, it's actually showing us how to do it.
Why did you go with 3600 mhz ram?
Because it's what G.Skill sent. Simple as that.
Ooooh
Okay, it thought you bought the high speed ram 😁
I've been playing console forever and I'm building this pc as my first build! Thank you so much I'm excited to start this build.
2:30am (eastern standard time) release? Late. I like that.
;-)
ive been using this case for two years and its been a joy to transport anywhere on the go and play high end games on. I put i7 4790k 4.20 ghz, gtx 970 and ssd for cooling i use 3 static pressure fans to suck from sides and blow out the top, having the case stand up on the foot stand :)
wtf 360p?? im not an apple peasant
I was wondering why 360P only also.
Blame TH-cam processing. Will be available in 4K soon.
matttzerminator hahahahha
just wait 10 min .
Top kek
now this is a beautiful itx build, awesome
like coz of andy :P
That voice crack at the beginning tho
Lewis Aszman i never thought anyone heard that thank u for being alive
Rishabh Sharma you got pinned
Omg yes! Thank you, I've been waiting for a mini itx kaby lake build. This made my day.
WHY DIDN'T YOU SHOW THE LIZARD IN THE VIDEO?!?!?!?!?!?!
Dude, NICE cable management with that non-modular power supply. Sharp build. Thanks for the video.
hiding that beautiful pc in the case makes me sad.
Damn, your channel is growing fast. Great videos, keep it up Salz!
why would you put soooo beautiful ram into a pc where you cannot see it in lol :(
Best Twitter plug ever. Seriously, that's the first time I've gone to a TH-camr's Twitter page.
Disliked the lizard wasn't rgb
Kappa (actually did like video just don't tell him!)
Dayum, that is a beautiful board. Im a big fan of the brushed steel red southbridge heatsink there
why would anyone get a gtx 1060/rx 480 with a freaking I5 6700k
Ra.G.E TheDutchDude i5 6700k lmao
Chilly Doggo oh wait 7600k
XD
Ra.G.E TheDutchDude why not?
Ra.G.E TheDutchDude i5😑
Because the game wil 9/20 times wil be gpu bound if you know what I mean so your cpu isn't realy pushing limits/boundaries
Great video! I really like the idea of tiny ITX systems like this for LANs which I do very often, but I have always liked the look of a mid tower such as a s340 elite much more.
360p squad
i only had 1080p and 1440p
4K Club
720p club
8k squaad
Major Kushanagi 1080p group

Are you Jewish
Ryan Moloney very
pewdiepie
my fav pc guy on youtube.
already 200k subs!! wow dude.. i remember you having 40k like yesterday ,, keep up the good work ;)
not a bad looking system dude, you did everything right, well done.
keep up the good work and continue what you are doing in your videos.
Very clear and narrated PC build. Really appretiate!!
wow ive purposefully not been on twitter and THIS is what gets me started
i just did this same build a few months ago (swap the 7600k for a 6600 and compatible motherboard) I love it.
Fractal design makes the best small form factor cases I've used so far.
This is saLIZARD studio, thanks for learning with us!
Great video, man. planning on building an ITX build down the road and you just sold me on that case.
That I/O shield looks lovely...
that is the most beautiful open air fan cooler I have ever seen.
looks good , small but clean and tidy you did a great work with the cable management
That's a Clean Build Man.....
A very nice walk through! Thank you so much. Would mind taking on the challenge to build the smallest ITX with the smallest case you can find? Each year i want to see how small an ITX build could be. Cheers!
THAT CASE IS BEAUTIFUL!
Even the local fauna love the channel!
did a very similar build in a cooler master itx case. nice and tiny and accommodates an atx psu. great build btw!
Wow, that was an amazingly concise roundup of how to throw together these parts - zero extraneous junk!
....but one thing... did you really complete the installation with that worm of thermal compound atop the CPU?
Pleasant production 😃 Nice and straight forward 👍👍
With this build can I replace the radeon video card with a evga nvidia gtx 1080??
The first (and only so far) PC I've built from scratch was for my grandma for Christmas, anyone who thinks it's difficult should know that I successfully built it while not watching any tutorials nor having any clue what I was doing aside from obvious stuff like CPU installation and whatnot.

Great video Salazar as always
Damn every time I see the Node 202 it really makes me want to rebuild my rig as an ITX rig
I envy your ability to talk that fast without hesitation
Salamander Studio, I've been waiting for the day to say that.
I am unsure how you make your cable management so gorgeous, even in a itx pc.
still the most underrated channel on youtube keeps gaining subs will not getting alot of attention
I like the node 202 but lian-li makes an itx case of a similar size that looks way nicer and would fit more into the budget for this build
ITX builds ftw

thanks for Cryorig C7 suggestion. Great buy!

I'm very tempted to build an ITX build. After building in a full size ATX, I'm more than ready to downsize. I like the space and all but I hate having to carry that thing.
because there are multiple fan holes for the gpu, so it is a better idea to use a open air style cooler on the gpu
samaravadi3 no because it exhausts the air in the case and then because the case is small you'll notice higher thermals for cpu. Blower blows out air at the outputs
It's cool but I wonder if all of that could fit in some kind of case with a side panel to see through
Very nice and clean itx build.
keep up with these Fractal Case builds!
Damn, might have to pick that cooler up for my 4790k. That looks clean AF!
go fof h7 or bequiet dark rock (pro) 3, the c7 is made for cases that can't fit the good bigger ones in

I lul'd at the voice crack when you said 'Xbox One'. Love the channel!
Yeah I was a bit dismayed at the voice crack there. I'm 22 and it still happens LOL
Great vid greg! But you did miss one thing! There is a screw the secures the pcie riser card!
Didn't miss it. Mentioned it in the guide.
Salazar Studio My bad! I just didnt hear the one line! Im used to people using the center screw too and when i saw you didn't use it i thought you hadnt secured it at all.
Can't screw it in from center. Cooler is in the way.
I know it's definitely a late comment on the video, but the amazon link for the ram is going to the 3200 variant instead of the 3600
Where can i buy that extension piece for the graphics card? all I can find is the tape which I do not want.
beautiful motherboard, the c7 and case
I've actually seen OEM computers with the plastic cling still on the heat sink. Temps are higher, but not as much as you would expect.
The AMD RX 480 4gb Reference card has the blower fan, it can get loud. MSI cards are much quieter.
Great guide for new builders!
I really admire your channel ! Keep it up :)
I would love to see a node 202 with a i7 7700 or i5 7600 locked, h270 mobo, C7 , 16 gb, 500 ssd, 1070 blower and a corsair sf450 psu. I think that is a proper build for a node 202. No need to overclock at all.
Why not get the 8 GB RX 480? Granted they're not the same card, but I wish I had gotten the 8 gig R9 380 back when i built my computer
That's a really good looking rig, maybe i will build a similar one in the future.
very nice informative video. i have never worked with ITX, and learned a lot.
Im exited to see a budget Ryzen build when it come out
Does that motherboard support NVMe I was looking at it earlier but might opt for something different.
Just did a Mini ITX build with a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv. My advise put in the RAM before putting in the CPU fan. Trust me it will save you a headache. this is cool and all but I would like to see you put a custom watercooling loop in the node 202,for all you nay sayers out there it has been done. Maybe not as a 1 week project but would be cool if maybe you started some long term projects on the channel
Building a PC is easy. Making it a piece of art can be a chore. Especially for people who don't understand cable management. Honestly my next build I'm aiming for something that I won't feel any shame when the back panel comes off
Craig, you must do a video about the new Pentium G4560, it's an interesting CPU....
The old tower is now sealed away in a closet running Windows for streaming games and applications like GTA V over LAN :D
And for lan parties, the 7100 can run csgo, overwatch, gta etc with acceptable performance if I boot into Windows. Probably one of the best purchases I've made.
>3600MHz
the Ark Intel website says the 7600K can only support up to 2400MHz DDR4.
I have no clue why it does it either if it's bullshit.
deathbat6916 Intel only approves 2400mhz and lower. If the motherboard manufacturer enables XMP then high speeds can be used, but it's not officially sanctioned by Intel.
