But why? Just use windows and auto-login and auto-start Steam in Big Picture Mode. It gives you the SteamOS UI. But unlike SteamOS / Bazzite - you will not be restricted which games you can run. Look at proton db. There are THOUSANDS of games not working. Also new games / new patches - often are buggy and crash and need 1-3 days for patches to arrive. Imagine buying a new game and then needing to wait for days until proton gets fixed - while on windows you could be gaming already. For gamers windows is the only logical choice. ESPECIALLY if you like games like CoD, Fortnite, Blizzard games (3rd party launcher), Ubisoft games (3rd party launcher), etc.
@@m4ko288 Simple, I don't agree with the Microsoft Terms of Service for Windows. I am not a fan of how Windows acts in general, so I choose to not use it.
@@TeamLinux01 That doesnt change the FACT that Windows is simply superior as a gaming OS. In SOOO many ways. Also you - like everyone else - are using a smartphone. That's an amazing system, and it's almost like mine, but I have the 7900XTX with the 7950X. The CPU is a bit of a hot boy, but as you showed if you give it a decent AIO cooler you can run it great.
I'm thinking about building a PC with this case right now. I recently went with a Inter-tech A60 ITX case for an as small as possible build with an 8600G. But the temps were insane so I bought the A80 ITX which is a bit taller, temps were high but doable. The problem I faced was the 120 watt PSU limit on this case was just barely enough to run the 8600G and 2x8GB RAM both at the lowest voltages... Which reduced performance so much that I couldn't even run Mario Kart from the Gamecube without lagging. It already costed me quite a lot just buying those cases, and now I'm thinking about buying this case and a better PSU... Or even with a better CPU + GPU + RAM to make a top notch gaming PC. My first intention was to just run emulator games with it and small Steam games lol.
I really like the Mood, but the changes I think would help would be to do similar panels like the rear all around, and allow for a spine adjustment for better GPU support. Then I think it would be an excellent case!
fighting games are locked at 60fps -- Gameplay considerations: Some fighting games use frames to measure the duration of attacks, recovery times, and other gameplay elements. Locking the frame rate at 60 FPS ensures that these measurements remain consistent and predictable, making it easier for players to execute complex combos and strategies.
I still think that FT03 Mini is the best sff case made to this date. It is smaller than Mood. Does not require a riser and can still fit mid to high tier PC components. On top of that, back then, they somehow managed to fit optical drive inside. I know it is not something super important nowadays, but for a HTPC it is a nice feature, if you have a lot of movies on DVDs, or you are using this as an emulation station.
Wow, that case looks very nice to build in. An all AMD build definitely deserves a Linux install, or perhaps HoloISO since you mentioned the living room. :0)
Whenever I search for SFF power supplies someone always complains about coil whine. Even the Corsair SF750 has a lot of cw complaints if I google it. Do you have any recommendations? I would like a min-itx build, but was considering going for a mid-tower or something else that allows full atx PSU.
to be honest I wouldn't spend all that just to play at 1440p. the case is much suited for a home theatre set-up sitting next to a capable oled TV at 4k120.
Does the msi b650i edge wifi now ship with different packaging? I remember last year MANY MANY people were complaining about dead cmos bsttery due to cmps button being pushed during shipment.
I got the may 2024 manufactured unit. There are cut outs on the IO side preventing accidental cmos reset. I had similar concerns and yet went for it as it was the only am5 board available in my country. So far so good.
Just a little PSA about using it in Living Room and on Linux, if you gonna use it on a TV that has HDMI 2.1, don't be dissapointed, AMD doesn't work properly on HDMI2.1 and will fallback to HDMI2.0 meaning that you won't get Full RGB out of your OLED TV meaning you'll loose those OLED blacks, and VRR will be messed up
@etaprime When are you going to show the designs of the Ukrainian modder custmod? They are really insane... I have one of their 4.5L boxes and it's just a blast
Sir, I have a request. I appreciate you doing a ton of content quickly. However, I have noted that this volume and speed comes with errors. Typos, narration mistakes, etc. Please take more time and concentrate on quality. I hesitate to bring this up, but the Thermalright/Thermaltake mistake was quite jarring. Thanks for all your time and work.
Those temps are horrible. That mesh provides very little airflow, you can get much better SFF cases, from the same company no less! Nice review though.
Why are they horrible? a stock 7950X is one of the worst CPUs possible for this kind of build, in Horizon it's using over 140W which is a lot. And the GPU seems cool.
10:51 red dead redemption settings are definitely not on ultra. Textures are looking like play dough. Make sure to restart the game and apply the settings.

you said thermaltake, but it's thermalright. Otherwise, it looks like a nice build. thank you for sharing

This case looks so good, I do wonder how it handles heat long term. Current CPU's run hotter than high end GPUs at 100%
Would have been nice to see how the cables connect to the system.

Consoles may not be good for much but Xbox actually came up with a very appealing case design with the Series X.
I don't know if you have a xbox series X but it would be helpful to see these side by side, just for size comparison.

how loud is it? is it just fabric all around or are there some solid walls?

What is the total cost for this pc build. This would add great perspective for DIYers
Per usual, some of the stuff he linked to is gone, but $2200-2600 depending on your components. Almost $1200 just for the CPU and GPU.
It's kind of hot at IDLE, don't you think?
I'd love to see what Linux gaming performance is like on this! :)
