To me Metallica's Seek & Destroy live is a classic performance because they just love to have a great time playing together.
You should have chosen the Seek And Destroy version from Seattle 89. With Jason Newsted on bass. Doesn't get any better than that

One of my favorite live songs, and beach balls where a pre-tour joke, that was taken seriously hahaha
Stage at the center is called the Snake Pit. And it's been an arena staple of theirs for decades. They mostly use the big stage for outdoor venues.
We went to Metallica years ago and not only was the stage in the center of the Arena, it also rotated very slowly. I think it took the entire show to make one complete revolution. So no matter where you were in the arena you would be able to see all the band members facing you eventually!
This was the Death Magnetic tour, saw them twice on it. Killer era.

I nabbed one of those beach balls from when they played Indy, it was my defacto bachelor party and of all the shows I ever went to, that was the first thing I got from a show I didn't pay for (t-shirts). Was 1 person from the security barrier on the floor.

Usually when inside, the place the stage in the center and space microphones around the whole stage. Randomly during the concert, Hetfield will use whatever mike is closest to them.
