ive had 3 negative feedback removed thanks to this video. i always emailed ebay rather than calling and everytime within minutes the feedback was removed.
I gotta say thanks so much. I had a negative feedback and submitted a revise and they declined it. i talked to a rep and he gave me the runaround so i almost gave up. then i watched this video and called back and got a new rep and WOW practically right away they were able to handle the situation! I wouldnt expect to do this all the time but it worked and i dont plan to have any more soon thanks again.
One of the Main problems is that, Buyers do Not have to at least message the Seller first, to give them a chance to correct the issue, before a Buyer can leave Negative Feedback.
That's an excellent point that I've never really thought of. If eBay would implement that as a policy, so much bad feedback could be prevented. I don't know of many sellers that wouldn't work to make things right for their customers when given the chance. If I ever get the opportunity, I'll pass that idea along to eBay.
Exactly Tracee, this is my frustration right now. I don't get negative feedback often but the couple of times I have it feels like it's out of no where. And had they sent a simple message; honestly I would have resolved whatever it was but it's amazing ppl wont do that. They just hop right in and leave terrible reviews. Both of mine were the the most solvable things I would have gladly addressed. I hope Ebay updates so they have to contact us first.
@@ivoryreviewsstuff I honestly BELIEVE that the eBay buyers that do not ALLOW a seller to resolve an issue - are actually competitive (fellow) eBay sellers who are attempting to give your business negative feedback FOR THE PURPOSE OF reducing or eliminating the competition. They MAY be operating under an alternative eBay account that does not immediately connect with their sales account in order to keep you from doing the same to them. It is just another way of scamming and placing negative feedback on their potential competition. This is (only) my personal experience. I believe it is worthy of note - but then perhaps I am stating the obvious.
Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I know how it feels though. I'll go years without a negative and then when someone does it really gets to me. When you provide amazing customer service like you have, it's hard not to take it personal. I hope you're able to get it removed, but if not, try not to let it slow you down. It takes a LOT of terrible customer service to get restricted or even banned from selling on eBay. You won't ever have to worry about that. And remember, even if eBay won't remove it the negative will fall off in a year's time anyway. I hope this helps. ~ Justin
@@CoachCommerce Thank you! Steps taken so far have not produced favorable results. Next step = ebay business on Facebook. Fingers crossed then moving on.
I really enjoyed your video, I got a nasty feedback and it really discouraged me from selling but after seeing this, I'll keep at it. Thanks for posting this one👍
Awesome video. I had 2 negative feedbacks on my page and I put it off for a while🤣 I didn’t let it bother me however I knew the buyers were full of you know what. I requested them to be revised and I kid you not in 5-10 minutes they were erased!!!
Really informative video that helped me as a buyer understand what sellers have to go through, but as a buyer I worry that my honest feedback will be removed and any bad sellers get away with not sending items or sending faulty items and blaming the postal service. Additionally with the reply to the feedback they can claim they they replied to your messages even if they didn't. The best advice I can give for buyers and sellers is to be honest. Don't put your starting bid so low you don't want to sell the item at a low price and don't bid or buy if you don't want exactly what the seller is selling.
You really have nothing to worry about as a buyer. All messages are stored by ebay. No one can lie and claim they sent a reply but didn't. Also, it's easy to review a sellers feedback, the quality of their listings and how long they have been selling. if their listings are bad (bad photos, no description) avoid them. Even if you buy something and the seller turns out to be a scammer, which is rare, you are protected.
Oh man! My comment went away bc the video ended! After several tries to reply to the negative feedback and calling them about 4 times didn’t work! The last Ebay rep finally told me their reply didn’t work. So it’s hopeless after you get a negative feedback! This video is over a year old and things have gotten much worst on eBay. A few weeks ago, nothing even trying to buy something didn’t work from the phone! eBay is driving me crazy bc of all the eBay mess ups!
Great Vid- I took your advice and it worked! I was persistent and it paid off. And you're right when you said that on eBay the buyer always has the upper hand. eBay doesn't support sellers like they do buyers. Thanks for taking the time and creating such an informative video.
I'm glad I could help Mike! Yes,unfortunately buyers have all the power on eBay these days. But, eBay is still a phenomenal marketplace that still has tons of buyers. Because of that, it's still a great way for sellers to make money. I'm still a huge eBay fan and make more money on eBay than any of the other reselling platforms that I use. eBay does a great job in allowing sellers to scale their stores to levels that other reselling platforms just don't make possible (in my opinion).
One thing to point out, on a feedback revision they can also give you another negative. This recently happened to me. The first negative was harsh, the second was a bit toned down, but still a negative. Oh well. I'm over it,
Thank you for your video. I tried the appeal route without success. I then tried the eBay for Business Facebook page as you recommended and was able to get the negative comment removed.
I'm glad you were able to get the negative removed! That's what I've found as well. There are different levels of customer service reps at eBay that have different amounts of jurisdiction when it comes to removing feedback. Some have no ability to, whereas others are allowed to remove the feedback with no questions asked. I too have found that the best customer service reps seem to be working on the "eBay for Business" side. Glad you were successful!
Received my first negative feedback today for a reason i clearly outline in my ads. It has been getting me down but your video has put me back on track. Thanks 👍
Thank you sir! Followed the steps, kept it professional and mentioned "out of my control" and "fulfilled all seller obligations" and was able to get a negative feedback removed within 2 hours of requesting. Thanks!!!
Dude out of 330 positive feedback I just received my 1st negative feedback because the buyer did not like how much he paid for the shipping of the purchase. He didn’t receive it damaged nor was there anything wrong with it. He didn’t like how much he paid for the shipping. That’s so dumb bro… definitely going to eBay messenger and going to try that call route because that’s petty!
I’m sorry to hear that. That is ridiculous! Not only is it petty, it’s buyers remorse which should be removable (especially since you did nothing wrong). If you don’t have any luck getting it removed on eBay messenger, try reaching out to eBay for Business on Facebook. They seem to be the most responsive and helpful these days. I wish you the best, but don’t let it stop you from selling. You’re a great seller and there’s too much money to be made to let one negative person get you down. ~ Justin
I just recently dealt with a scammer who claimed the item I sold him was broken. He messaged me trying to get a refund on shipping. I told him to contact eBay first to receive it as the listing said no returns or refunds. He then said, “I don’t want to talk to them! I want to talk to you! Now I demand a refund!” I reported him twice and no response.
Really over it with these buyers that thing that they can be keyboard Warriors and destroy a reputable sellers feedback just because they’re disgruntled over something the seller had nothing to do with!. I recently had a buyer who is also a seller that purchased an item from me got the item used the item, damaged the item and opened to return request and was fully refunded by me once I receive the item back and they had the audacity to leave me negative feedback and didn’t actually think to block my username because they are a seller and didn’t have the foresight to think that I would make a purchase from them because as far as I’m concerned what goes around comes around. & the only was I was able to get em to revise the lies they told in my feedback was to basically TELL them I purchased this item from you now, so NOW I’m the customer, & NOW I have the same power you had! Long story short, they deleted the negative feedback and canceled the order. I placed with them in fear of what I would say, and their feedback. I good enough! She deserved it. Everyone who reads this block user name “housewareoutlet” she’s a scammer w absolutely no morals & should be ashamed of herself!
If you get negative feedback theres a high chance you deserve it. I encourage all consumers that leave negative feedback is to track it and make sure it has not been removed. Its CRITICAL to know why negative feedback was introduced is to keep sellers honest. Summary is - dont sell garbage and you wont get negative feedback.
Great video and great advice, I do think also that regrettably there will be just a minority of people that will find fault with anything to get some kind of partial refund if they can.
Thank you for this. I had to do this yesterday and its gone. eBay team was very helpful. Mine was very obvious it should not remain, buyer didn't like how long it took USPS to make the 4,000 mile journey. Thank you!!!
Some just blatantly lied and said I sold there item to someone else I was super confused. I literally requested they give me 24 hrs to locate their missing item. How is that selling the item to someone else. Buyers are out here acting like they have road rage, crazy
I got my first one in 17 years because i refused to come down on the price of a different item than the one the buyer bought. I have called 3 times. I feel like English is not the first language of the operators and they do not understand the concept of what i am trying to explain to them. I will take your advice and call a few more times
Hey JB! Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this. Since covid started, eBay phone support has been terrible. I have an anchor store and get concierge support with better call reps (the best eBay reps here in America). An anchor store may seem out of reach, but if you can build your inventory up, the call support is worth it by itself. Otherwise, yes...you're probably getting a call support center in India when you call. If you can't get help over the phone, try messaging eBay through the "eBay for Business" group on Facebook. The support on Facebook seems to be the same type of reps that anchor store users get help from when they call. They're typically pretty responsive and are getting people results lately. I know it's easy to feel defeated, but 17 years without a negative is incredible! Keep doing what you're doing and just remember that it's not going to affect your sales in the meantime. Best regards, Justin
Thank you so much! Resuming you should not believe on the reviews that we see there. I got a SCAM TWICE, the reviews were removed . I rather pay more in stores. I was really nice with seller, waited until he refunded me only part of the payment, after sending me a empty fragrance :(
I agree with you. It usually is always buyers with little to no feedback or users that have little to no experience on eBay. It’s really kind of sad that good sellers with thousands of transactions even have to fight so hard to defend their reputations from these neglectful / abusive buyers. I understand that transactions on eBay go both ways and that there are bad sellers out there as well. Which is why feedback is important. BUT, to punish the good sellers isn’t fair and it’s sad that that the feedback system is just a blanket approach. In my opinion, the current feedback system is outdated anyway. It’s about the only thing that hasn’t changed at all or been improved upon since the day eBay was founded. It could really use some positive changes.
@@CoachCommerce I agree the system is very outdated. I've been selling long enough to remember when buyers and sellers could leave negative feedback. They dumped that around 2007 or so. I also agree its absurd that a seller who has a great reputation with hundreds or thousands of positive feedback can get negged by someone who is new and doesn't know what they are doing. The feedback system is broken. The only reason I even care about the feedback is that it can potentially hurt your seller status and cost you more in fees. I'll be spending the next week trying to get something removed from a buyer with 0 feedback lol
I had a buyer who cancelled the order because of late despatch (ok it was my fault). They had a refund (no problem). Yet they were able to leave neutral feedback even though NO sale had actually taken place. It does not seem right that someone can leave feedback when nothing has been purchased. Do you have any thoughts on this, Thanks, Richard.
Hi Richard. Sorry to hear that happened to you. A buyer can still leave feedback on a canceled transaction, unless the order was canceled because they didn't pay for the item. I agree that it's somewhat ridiculous because the transaction didn't even happen. I've asked eBay reps about it in the past and the response I got is that feedback is based around the customer's entire experience with a transaction on eBay (whatever that means). Personally, I don't put to much stock into neutrals. Neutrals don't bring down your total feedback percentage or even bring down your seller metrics at all. They're just...well...neutral. When I get a neutral, I'll typically always reply to the feedback with my own comment so that prospective customers can see that I'm responsive and provide good customer service. You can still always try and contact eBay support and see if you can get it removed. I've had a neutral taken off in the past, but now I don't even bother. I figure if I'm going to take the time to contact eBay I'll just save the energy for if or when I get a negative. In the end, all neutrals and negatives fall off after a year. The main thing I'd say is just focus on doing what you do well, and keep providing great service. The rest will take care of itself!
Any advice for not taking negative reviews so personal? I've just gotten a neutral and negative review the span of 24 hours and it honestly has me feeling really down. I'm trying my best to resolve the issues but it's off putting.. This is my 2nd month as a seller.
I was surprised at how bad I felt when I got my first one. They wouldn't remove it, So I posted a reply. But for a while I just wanted to close my store! I was so bummed.
@@terryscarborough729 I think you eventually get used to it. I just got another one this week about my product not working and then the same guy messages me saying it works and asked if there was a way to change it. I simply said no, here's your money back and I'm not interested in his business and blocked him as a buyer. Since my comment I've had people buy an item and try to scam / ask to change address / cancel order with implication they'll rebuy (they don't). If you full refund, the negative review automatically gets removed, only worth it for cheap items.
I got one negative review and my account is now restricted from selling. I’m new to eBay. All it takes is one if you don’t have any other feedback. Now I can’t even sell more than 1 item at a time. This is extremely frustrating.
Hey Chris. I’m really sorry to hear that that happened to you. Yes, you’re right Ebay doesn’t often make it easy for new sellers. Even if you don’t have negative feedback, they gate you in terms of how many items you can list and how much you can have in your store inventory. They make new sellers try to prove themselves to ensure that the marketplace is safe and people don’t just open up accounts to commit fraud. That being said, I know that you’re not do anything wrong but just had some bad luck. Have you tried calling Ebay or talking to a customer service rep to see if there’s anything that can be done? If you have, try calling again and seeing if you can get more sympathetic or understanding person on the other end of the line. I found in the past that customer support varies greatly depending on who you speak to at eBay. I hope this helps. ~ Justin
Tbh i being 100~% the last year -someone has just complained that the cd was damp(theres being bad storms here and it definetely wasnt damp when posted!)they also complained 1 cd was fine but the other was defective due to the damp cover(its a 1cd set -i had 2 copies and threw them a spare 1 in free -both discs were like new so if the cover did get damp the side you play on certainly couldnt be damaged but there review makes it look like its a 2 disc set -however once e bay are back to there working hours im fairly confident theyll remove it-i had a negative before which was blatant lies and they removed it!Im pretty sure they will when i phone -only thing id say is dont wait as if it gets too long they cant take it down though ill be ringing tomorrow if open if not monday -2 days will be fine!
Yeah I have a guy trying to do me over at the moment. He left me negative feedback as the items (CDs) he bought arrived damaged and broken, and they were not in that condition when sold. It’s the mail carriers fault or this guy damaged them himself… how do I go about this?
Hi thanks so much for this video and I am now subscribed to your channel! I only have one negative feedback and I got it today. I almost have 100 feedbacks and all the rest are positive. I have contacted the buyer and I'm hoping to resolve it with them. I don't feel it was my fault the item got there damaged so your information was very helpful! Thanks and good luck to you and your informative channel.
I never look at my feedback and did this morning and noticed I have all good feedback except for one....my over all number was 4.9.....the one who gave me a bad rating with the message it was late.....I think I'm gonna call ebay as when looking into it I can't make the post office work harder on my orders...lol...I send all orders off everyday at night....that really ticks me off as over 20 years I received something like that
If you refunded them quickly (due to an oversight on us), told them not to return the item. Then they still leave negative feedback. Will ebay remove that negative
They said in the store plan you have the ability to remove negative feedback, but that’s unfair how they lie on that part. Also unfair you have to contact the buyer.
I really appreciate your videos, I received a neg for the first time in 14 years today and it was from a customer who received a product that had a manufacturer flaw on ounces printed on the sealed product, and when they opened the seal it was not the same amount on the inside. They were exremely rude and demanded I send them a new one. I did not have one so I refunded them immediately, and even told them to keep the product, and a free gift i included. I sent them 2 very kind messages saying how sorry I was genuinly for this error, and was heartfelt, only to be ignored. I then wake up today a month later and they dropped a negative. I am beyond crushed, and actually in shock they would be so cruel. I even wrote them asking why they would do that after I did everything to help them, and crickets. I tried to get them to revise it and they declined it immediately. I called ebay twice and they said they have to escalate the issue to a different department and they will get back to me? I only received 2 automated replies. I feel very taken advantage of, and upon further looking I see this customer has left hundreds of negatives in 2 years and very rude as well. I'm sorry this is so long, but I am at a loss and wondered if you had any ideas? I have worked night and day to provide excellent service only to lose it all with one guy who has an apparet power trip. Thanks for your time.
Hey there. I'm so sorry to hear that this happened to you. Getting negative feedback can be very violating. Especially when you've done all that you have and have provided exceptional customer service. My first advice is don't let it stop you from selling. As crazy as it sounds, some people get so defeated when they get negative feedback, that it causes them to quit. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't give up. Obviously, the seller isn't going to help so I would continue working with eBay. I'd try calling to see if you can get it overturned. If you get denied, try again because it can't hurt. Some customer reps are more helpful and more entitled to remove the feedback than others are. If you can't get it removed over the phone, try messaging ebay for business on facebook (or emailing them). I'd also report the buyer if you haven't already. If they have the track record that you mentioned, they're probably only a few steps away from an IP ban on eBay. Lastly, if you can't get the negative removed it will eventually fall of in a years time. I know this isn't ideal, but remember...no negative is forever. Keep doing what you're doing and your customer service will speak for itself. eBay needs sellers like you!
@@CoachCommerce I honestly can't thank you enough for taking the time to respond, and your kindness means so very much. This entire situation has been very painful needless to say. I will definitely not give up as I have built my business from the ground up and I've only had one other negative (that was revised) as it was my first 6 months selling and I made an error. I have gone 13 years plus with 100% and for one disgruntled person to take that away is extremely painful, but like you said not to give up and I will listen to that very sound advice. I did everything I could as far as contact ebay via phone twice, and they say they have to file a report and escalate it to another department, to only receive what seems like a generic response 10 minutes after the call. I did report him but it was on Friday evening and not sure if it was too late on the business day to hear back. As far as the Facebook contact I will definitely pursue that as like you said it is worth a shot. I honestly feel so duped as I allowed him to keep the product, full return, and free gift. It makes me wonder after seeing all the negatives he has given out if he may be scamming others like he did with me? Maybe not but just food for thought? I am curious how he gets away with leaving so many negatives in less than a year, and how he can use derogatory remarks such as "you suck" and you are "an idiot" I was under the notion that you could not use language such as that? Or abuse the feedback system? Sorry this is so long, just know that I really appreciate you taking out the time and your advice, and kindness mean so much. I subscribed and look forward to your content. Thank you again 😄
I know exactly what you mean and where you are coming from. Ironically, I just got my first negative in two years yesterday. It does hurt...especially when you put so much work and energy going above an beyond what most other sellers do. I have to say though, the fact that you went 13 years without getting a negative is incredible! I know it doesn't negate getting the negative you just got, but that tells me everything I need to know about you as a seller. You're incredible! That being said, you are correct that buyers can't use profanity or intimidating language in feedback. That alone should be cause enough for eBay to remove it and I'd definitely use it as evidence if I were in your shoes. Regardless, keep in mind that even if you cant get it removed it isn't permanent. All feedback drops off after a year. It's not fun having a negative for a year, but it isn't the end all be all. Plus, these days seller defects are worse than bad feedback. If you get to many defects it can put your account in jeopardy. You'd have to get a LOT of bad feedback to get sanctions on your account and that will never happen to you because you're a great seller. Keep positive and keep doing what makes you such a great seller! You're better than that bad buyer...don't let him/her stop you. ~Justin
@@CoachCommerce Thank you again for taking time out of your day to respond, it really means a lot to your subscribers, and especially with the way I have been feeling since this entire situation has taken place. I am furious to hear that you received a negative feedback a few days ago. People amaze me? I am so sorry to hear that, at this point sad to say it amost seems inevitable. You just can't seem to please them no matter what you do. I guess this is that harsh reality, and the nature of the game. I remember starting my career in retail, and it really wasn't much different then, the people I sometimes dealt with were impossible, I guess it is par the course? Yes, i went 13 years without any negatives. I did have a few neutrals in the very begining back in 2007 as i did not know what i was doing LOL, and back then you could ask the customer to remove them, and these people were kind enough to do so. Back then it was added to this little revisions area and it would give a number of how many revisions you had but it never actually showed the transactions of the details of the neutral, or negatives you had removed. I don't think it is there anymore, but as far as negatives go this is the first after 14 years on the platform, and i pray the last. Thankn you for the compliment, I have worked night, and day to accomplish it as with every customer, i wrap each order with special wrapping paper, and ribbon, I wrap breakables extremly carefully, and each order gets a special gift IE: if you order a bracelet you will get matching earings, or hair clip, and same thing for everyone. If the order is expensive you get multiple gifts based on what you ordered. I give each person a thank you card, and a business card. I pretty much go overboard LOL, but it has helped me maintain that feedback score, and honestly, it was my goal when I was able to step down from retail in the corporate world that I would focus on providing a shopping experience that would make people happy, and remember the nice experience they had. So in the end it os worth it to take out the time to do extras. What I am more concerned about is how a guy who has been on ebay only 2 years is doling out multiple negative feedbacks? He seems to get a kick out of it because in just 2 years he has left 50 negative feedbacks?? i just can't believe that can be ok? I mean part of me thinks he might be a scammer, as how many people may have done what I did and just allowed him to get a full refund, and keep the product in hopes of making him happy out of fear of retaliation and possibly getting a negative feedback? He coud have done this very easily if you think about it. He also had plenty of sellers who responded to his feedback stating that he wanted a return from the begining, mand to beware, so who knows after 50 negative feedbacks what he has been getting away with? I'm so sorry how long this is.. LOL I digress... Thank you again for your continued kindness, sympathy, and tips it truly means more than you know. I am so sorry to hear of your negative the other day too. I hope it can be revised in the days to come. All the best, Jenn
Hey Jenn, Wow!.The effort that you put into your store with gift wrapping, sending gifts, writing notes, ect is incredible! I have to admit that I've never gone that far and above. It really speaks volumes to me about the type of person that you are and I know it does to your buyers as well. Unfortunately, you're correct in saying that sometimes negatives are unavoidable. There are terrible people in this world, and when you sell enough, you're bound to have an interaction with some of them (just like you mentioned with brick and mortar customers as well). Saying that doesn't make it any easier when it happens, and it doesn't take the sting away. But I always try to remember the 99.9% of wonderful people that I deal with otherwise. Plus, I always remind myself that it must be a terrible way to live being that type of negative person and I pray for those people. You're correct in that people that act and behave in abusive manners don't belong on eBay. If you haven't already reported that person, I would definitely do so. If enough sellers do (and should) that person will eventually be banned from eBay. The good news is that when that happens, the negative feedback would get removed as well with the account being terminated. It will all catch up to that person in the end. I know I've said it before, but keep doing what you've always done. You'll never get enough negative feedback to where it will have any tangible effect as a seller. You're awesome and an inspiration to other sellers (myself included). Keep up the awesome work! ~ Justin
I had someone to leave me negative feedback the other day and they never messaged me and told me they had any issues with the item or anything they just left me negative feedback and what it was was they purchased a sports card that came with a coin which I had shipped in a white eBay standard shipping envelope like normal and they said that they received the the item with no coin in the envelope and the envelope was torn and I know for a fact fact that I sent that coin I placed it in a protective sleeve and take it really good to a piece of paper and folded it and put it in the envelope and there was no way it could have fell out and they said that they received the envelope with no coin and the envelope was torn they never wrote me or anything and it was a $2 item I wrote them and said why did you not write me and tell me you had this issue I would have given you a refund but do you think I can get this negative feedback removed since it was out of my control and it may have happened while in transit?
I sell my art. 1 negative feedback took me from perfect to 95%. I thought, if I got more positive feedback it would go back up but, it isn't. I didn't realize I had a deadline to rebuke feedback.. she got her refund. now that account has been deleted,, strangely. should I just start over? 😢
I got a negative feedback by a buyer that requested I cancel as soon as he purchased. 3 days later he left me a negative feedback for not sending the item. I told him that left a false review he says he’s not removing it until he gets item but I already sent him his money. Will this stay on my store
I have a buyer that is angry that I didn’t sell him an item when the auction ended. I decided not to let that Item go. He didn’t even pay yet when I decided to cancel it. One month later he left feedback saying that I (the seller) didn’t sell him the item because the price was too low. To make it short, he is pissed that I didn’t sell him the item so he left negative feedback. Any chance in having it removed? I mean I don’t think he has the right to provide feedback on that matter
I would like to know were you found a number to call ebay? The last number I had was before 2020 and when the pandemic show up they disconnected their number to speak to a representative. I have not yet to find a number to call to speak with a person that works for ebay. Thank you for your time and the video.
What if buyer leaves a negative review where the shipment had a shipping delay out of your control? You did everything you can to help. They just didn't want to wait and wanted a refund?(I'm not going to just refund them and for the item to eventually get to them so they double dip) Even opened a case that they didn't win. But in review, say "item was damaged or bad quality" instead of "arrived late"?
Hello I started my ebay business about 3 months ago. It was running quite well until a scammer came and left 10 negative feedbacks. He didn’t even received items and mentioned that my products are not same as shown in photos. I contacted ebay for the same but they asked to deal with buyer. Its been almost 2 weeks now and I am not getting any sales. I had only 30 positive feedbacks and he left 10 negative feedbacks and he is not willing to remove feedbacks. Can some one please suggest what should i do now? Should i keep listing and wait for a year to get rid of these fake negatives or open a new ebay selling account? Some one please suggest I am very confused.
Hey man awesome video! What would be my best option if I messed up the description by saying that the product is a two pack but only send one. What’s the better way of going about this without using a revision
Great question! Have they left a Feedback yet? If not, I always try to work with the buy to prevent negative feedback by offering a return or partial refund. If they’ve left negative feedback already you can send the buyer a revision request, but they probably won’t change it unless you attempt to resolve their problem. If the buyer is unresponsive or unwilling to help, I then will reach out to eBay to see if I can get it removed. What is great about eBay messages is that eBay reps can see that you’ve been supportive to the buyer when trying to resolve the problem. This usually works in your favor and they’ll remove it. If you have to contact eBay, I suggest messaging them through eBay for business on Facebook. It’s more time efficient and the reps there seem more supportive and knowledgeable there. I hope this helps!
i got a negative feedback of someone lying. they bought my item then cancelled 10 minutes later. left negative feedback saying pictures were blurry (they wer enot you can clearly see the item quality) and said i cancelled the item. yet they requested it.
The customer that did that more than likely didn't know what they were doing and left the negative score on accident. If you haven't done so already, call eBay and they should be able to remove it. If the wont, call again and speak to a different rep. If that gets you nowhere, try messaging your customer that left the negative and ask if they're revise the feedback. If they're willing, send them the revision request and you should be good to go!
I have had issues with people that bid on my 7 day auction and not pay so the last auction I had someone canceled a bid. 20 minutes before the auction ended. Leaving me with one bid. When the auction was over someone won. But didn’t pay. eBay says they send them a reminder to pay so why should I? After 2 days no communication to me so I canceled the order. He leaves negative feedback saying I didn’t give him enough time to pay. I’m new to eBay so for me this holding products for 11 days max to get paid is stupid. It was only $112. If you didn’t have the money don’t bid in an auction!!!
I agree. If I buyer wins an auction and doesn’t pay, you have the right to open an unpaid item case and cancel the sale. I realize the buyer left you a negative, but that one should be easy to get removed. If you call or contact eBay, you should be able to get a rep to remove the feedback because t he y didn’t pay for the item. If not, try calling again and speaking to a different rep. I hope this helps. ~ Justin
Hello, If you've used all 5 of your feedback revision requests, your only option would be to call ebay and see if you can get a helpful rep to remove the feedback. If the first rep doesn't, I've had success in the past trying again with calling once more and speaking to someone else. You could also contact eBay support on facebook in the "eBay for Business" page. They're pretty responsive and helpful on there as well. Remember, even if you can't get the negative removed it will eventually expire after 1 calendar year. As long as you don't get too many seller defects, negatives won't affect your ability to sell on eBay. Keep pressing on, and best of luck with getting the negative removed. ~ Justin
Hello, How do buyers request feedback when a seller has not sent any feedback to them of any kind. eBay use to let buyers request feedback after 30 Days. I am currently 99 total feedback however I have purchased over 500 items, most of the missing feedback is from bigger stores. Thank you for your time
Hi Michael! The best way to go about requesting feedback from a seller is to send them a message and politely request for them to leave feedback. Buyers and sellers on eBay aren't required or forced to leave feedback for any transaction. Personally, as a seller I have automated feedback set up so that any person that buys from me will receive positive feedback as soon as they pay. It can be really time consuming to leave manual feedback as a seller (especially if you sell a lot of products), so the automated system is nice. A lot of sellers don't know that it is an option that eBay offers. Regardless, you'll probably have the most luck just sending them a message. You can even save the message and copy and paste it any time you make a purchase. I hope this helps. ~ Justin
@@CoachCommerce Hello Justin, Thank you very much for you fast reply. I realized after asking you the question, the eBay AU and USA Sites are different. or I can not locate things that you show like printing labels or as you stated in you reply to myself the Auto-Feedback on Seller accounts. Again Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
Look, this is a very good video... but there are things that new and old sellers NEED to know. THE BUYER ALWAYS HAS THE UPPER HAND and eBay allows the buyer to get away with illegal activity. It is common for other collector eBay sellers - who are buyers also - to purchase on eBay switch out what they bought with something else that is broken they ALREADY OWN and return it to the seller (you) and request a refund. They then turn around and sell the item they scammed from YOU on their own eBay site. It is important that you realize that eBay allows them to get away with this activity unabated. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM. Additionally, eBay does NOTHING to remove the negative feedback from these SCAM buyers/sellers who consider YOU a fellow eBay competitor. There is absolutely NOTHING that eBay will do to back YOU up or prevent this from happening.
Thanks for the complement Adam! You are correct, on eBay the buyer always has the upper hand. eBay doesn't support sellers like they do buyers. But, there are instances when you can get negative feedback removed. The more I took the time to learn eBay's "feedback rules" the better I've gotten at appealing the negatives. Sadly, it's easier for larger sellers like myself (anchor store and above) to get better help with removing negatives, because they have concierge customer support (with better customer support that isn't overseas). eBay support just isn't as equitable for smaller sellers. Scammers do tend to target new ( more inexperienced sellers) as well because they're easier targets. I get far fewer problem buyers 10 years in as I did in my early days. With that being said, it's always important to report abusive buyers. Buyers that repeatedly abuse eBay policies do get punished and can get their account restricted or blocked. In my 10 years on eBay, I've had plenty of cases where buyers deliberately abuse eBay policies. But in my opinion, it's not "common" for me in my store. Happens to me like 1 in 100. But I typically sell in categories that have less scammers (for example, electronics have a high scam rate). I try to stick to categories that have low return rates and it seems to help. How often do you get scammed? I hope that it doesn't keep you from selling on eBay. There's too much opportunity to let bad people stop you from your business. Best regards, Justin
@@CoachCommerce THANK YOU Justin. Your input is extremely helpful. I was on eBay a number of years ago (2001 - 2005) and I NEVER got scammed. We just recently began selling again this past year and we have been scammed twice already with only a little over one hundred sales. Sadly, aside from blocking scammers and non-payers, I don't see many alternatives to prevent it from continuing. The management at eBay seems most unhelpful. The majority of scammers that we have run into (as outlined above) are fellow eBay-ers who are looking for ways to put their competitors out of business via theft and giving bad feedback through their purchases. I wish I could prevent fellow eBay sellers from purchasing from us altogether - but even that would not prevent it from happening. I may be wrong, but since eBay's recent acquisition (4+ years ago), their policies have changed to value ONLY the buyers and not the sellers. We have an inventory to move - we'll see what happens during that period in order to properly assess whether or not is is worth our while to continue. Thank you AGAIN for your kind ear and assistance.
@@CoachCommerce Yes! I agree with another comment you made in another post. If restrictions were placed on buyers placing negative feedback by allowing more avenues of resolution by the seller, it would be a move in a positive direction. Sadly, I do not see that eBay is attempting to resolve this issue by any method.
What do you do when the buyer boldly lied that something was broken (zipper) but it absolutely wasn't. They might have bought it to get a part off and use to repair their thing. They sell the same brand of what they bought. Also dinged my $7 shipping charge so badly I dropped significantly on my shipping score. This is a scammer customer.
I used my old Android tablet to buy some CD-ROM game (The American Girls Premiere) and some 1974 board game (Miss America Pageant Game) on eBay (prior to my iPad)
Agreed. There’s no room on eBay for bad sellers. It only hurts the marketplace just as bad customers do. Whenever I see a seller that is cutting corners, deceiving customers, or flat out trying to scam people I always report them. It’s easy to do and if a seller gets enough defects on their account eBay will suspend or even ip ban them from selling. Believe it or not, eBay works hard to control bad sellers than they do at patrolling abusive buyers. Most people don’t realize it, but eBay is a completely safe marketplace for buyers. Most every item sold on eBay is backed by eBay with a 100% guarantee. I encourage people to shop with confidence.
I got a positive feedback with all caps negative feedback in it because as a buyer I had to open a case for a broken doll that smelled heavily of cigarettes and I am allergic to it. I won the appeal for 14.00!!!! And now getting harassed by the seller. I reported the seller, she really has been soooo nasty and I can’t believe she is wasting so much time on something so small, wish she would leave me alone!!! They need to shut her down!!! I’m sure I am not the only one she has abused!
I’m afraid this is not good. EBay does not support the sellers and they are actually ruining a lot of sellers that are now even giving up on their businesses on eBay. Especially now that you can’t give a negative feedback to the buyer. All the buyers have 100% positive feedback, how is that right?
Hack Number 1: Honor your Auction and Ship in a timely manner. After that let the buyer leave his Feedback. Because it is the Buyers Feedback and not yours! Terrible that people try to do this. This is why eBay is getting worse and worse, the bad sellers can not be avoided because they know how to take away Feedback. SAD SAD SAD! One day eBay will be gone if this keeps up.
It’s honestly REALLY hard to get bad feedback removed. And, buyers can leave negative feedback even when a seller offers good service and does nothing wrong (but I’m sure you know that). If a good seller gets to much unfair feedback their account gets penalized. Plus, eBay reps won’t remove feedback for bad sellers. There are valid times when feedback should be removed, such as if a buyer is extorting a seller or being abusive. Which is why I made this video. I’d never advocate rewarding bad sellers. But, eBay should be a safe marketplace for both buyers and sellers.
@@CoachCommerce I left a Neutral Feedback that was the seller cavaliercards fault with several days trying to contact to combine shipping in which his auction was all combined was FREE and after the seller did no combine shipping for free but a discount so I feel that other buyers deserve to know that and without giving the Negative. Now the Seller got the Neutral took down and the kicker was he contacted me asking me to take it down fist and saying he would block me for life and he has 400 sellers on eBay that will block me also if I do not take it down. Now that should be wrong. The bad thing is I can't even contact eBay because they make it so hard to contact them. So the Seller extorted me and I get my voice shut down!
Not always. Most times eBay will not remove negative feedback when the seller is at fault. The times when feedback can be removed are when the seller isn't in the wrong. Negative feedback can be removed if the buyer is using threats, profanities, or leveraging feedback for extortion. Buyers on eBay can leave negative feedback even if there was noting wrong so eBay puts up protections and safeguards for sellers just as they do for buyers. Lastly, feedback is somewhat antiquated on eBay these days anyway. Seller defects are what really matter. If there's a bad seller out there eBay will put sanctions on their account even if their feedback is flawless. eBay is really a safe marketplace for the buyer and the seller. I hope this helps. ~ Justin
Sometimes buyer just won’t respond as unfair as it is. The good thing is that now there is a record on eBay showing that you are trying to resolve things with your buyer. This is helpful when you call eBay support. That’s what I would recommend trying if you haven’t done so already. Even if you’ve had one rep tell you that it can’t be removed it’s beneficial sometimes to keep trying. Different reps at eBay have different levels of abilities. It can be worth persisting sometimes, because even when one rep won’t remove it another will. I’m sorry to hear you’re having troubles getting it removed, and I hope that one of the other methods works in your favor.
Also, if you have Facebook try messaging an eBay rep through the “eBay for business” group. Those reps seem to have the most authority to make feedback removals.
That is true. I found that if you’re professional in your reply, that it can go a long way. Maybe not go a longway with the person that left the negative, but it will go a long way in persuading prospective buyers into having the confidence to buy your items from you.
yo wht the fk , i gave bad feed cuz seller said things he woulda done for me and didnt do them . . . and it got removed , what . . . no curse nothing , ill call ebay say to put it back
Call?? What number? I think it's AI now. Doesn't work well anymore. 1). They don't remove blatant extortion feedback. 2) Did not remove a feedback that made no sense, and had verifiably easy to see contradictory false details. Was a perfect seller for 11 years and suddenly bombed and extorted in fall 2024 (during my slowest ever traffic). Got a negative after a same day refund, after they claimed they didn't know how to mail item back. Triple threat - they got out item, money, and defaced our page - 1st time ever for that stunt. The latest one is using malicious claim insults - which formerly would get removed. ebay DIDN'T remove the feedback, but censored the word????!!!. Huh? Tired of 'no accountability' normalization. Normalization of apathy is having it's effects everywhere.
Agreed. Ever since Covid started their call centers have been terrible. I’ve had better luck as of late with getting help on Facebook by messaging Ebay for business. I hope this helps.
ive had 3 negative feedback removed thanks to this video. i always emailed ebay rather than calling and everytime within minutes the feedback was removed.
Very well said ane ebay also take buyers side I don't know why and ebay don't delete
100% true. This has just happened to me and it was 100% out-with my control, what happened.
Great video. I had 496 positive reviews and my first negative review today had me SHOOK. Appreciate your help.
@@KW-ov2dv Hope you got it removed
I really enjoyed your video, I got a nasty feedback and it really discouraged me from selling but after seeing this, I'll keep at it. Thanks for posting this one👍
Awesome video. I had 2 negative feedbacks on my page and I put it off for a while🤣 I didn’t let it bother me however I knew the buyers were full of you know what. I requested them to be revised and I kid you not in 5-10 minutes they were erased!!!
how can we work on ebay from pakistan can u please help me
Really informative video that helped me as a buyer understand what sellers have to go through, but as a buyer I worry that my honest feedback will be removed and any bad sellers get away with not sending items or sending faulty items and blaming the postal service.
Oh well. I'm over it,
Wow an Ebay Rep told me they could not revise negative to negative or nuetral to negative. .
They don't support their buyers. As soon as ebay has a viable, competitor, i'm offski. Never to return, after what happened to me.
Thanks 👍
you're genuinely the best eBay youtuber on the internet, no BS no long intro just straight info.
Thank you sir! Followed the steps, kept it professional and mentioned "out of my control" and "fulfilled all seller obligations" and was able to get a negative feedback removed within 2 hours of requesting. Thanks!!!
Did you call. Customer service to do this how did you do it I am in a similar situation where it's out of my control
Best regards,
Justin
@@CoachCommerce Thank you will do ! Keep up the good work !
Got your success?
Thank you so much! Resuming you should not believe on the reviews that we see there. I got a SCAM TWICE, the reviews were removed . I rather pay more in stores. I was really nice with seller, waited until he refunded me only part of the payment, after sending me a empty fragrance :(
I sell a around 500 items a year and what I notice is that when there is a problem with a buyer, it is *ALWAYS* the ones with few (
I agree with you.
Thanks to you I just got ebay to remove negative feedback left by a nutcase of a buyer,
I had a buyer who cancelled the order because of late despatch (ok it was my fault).
They had a refund (no problem). Yet they were able to leave neutral feedback even
though NO sale had actually taken place.
I like your positivity.
Thanks for the advice! I learn something new everyday.
~ Justin

Are you still working on eBay? I need some help.😊
No. Don't ever refund a buyer hoping you will get feedback removed. You can certainly refund for other legit reasons.
They said in the store plan you have the ability to remove negative feedback, but that’s unfair how they lie on that part. Also unfair you have to contact the buyer.
Great video with easy to follow recommendations. Thanks. 👍
Thanks for the complement Robert! I'm glad I could help!
Buyers will not read for most part. One lady leaves "Accurate", but neutral. She did it to 17 sellers.
Very helpful, best wishes from UK

Hey Jenn,
Wow!.The effort that you put into your store with gift wrapping, sending gifts, writing notes, ect is incredible!
Keep up the awesome work!

what are the options now-and-days when it is seemingly impossible to get hold of a real human through both phone and chat?
Thank you that was great information.
great content. thank you so much. answers a lota questions!
Thank you so much for this really helpful
Just what I needed
Thank you for the information!
Very helpful, thank you so much
I got a negative feedback by a buyer that requested I cancel as soon as he purchased.
If he won an auction and you failed to deliver the item he has a right to be upset. If you changed your mind, you gotta pay the price.
This has worked for me in the past but I can’t even get on the phone with anyone or even talk with a real person at all. Please help
Thank you jason so helpful
Very good informative video.
👍👍👍👍👍
Great video. Thank you !!
Thanks for these tips
Any time! Glad I could help!
I would like to know were you found a number to call ebay? The last number I had was before 2020 and when the pandemic show up they disconnected their number to speak to a representative. I have not yet to find a number to call to speak with a person that works for ebay. Thank you for your time and the video.
There is no #.
Hello
I started my ebay business about 3 months ago.
Ebay for business won’t even respond on FB messenger.. do they always take a while to respond?
make sure it is between 8am-11am PST
I got a postive review comment from a buyer but negative review I’m so confused why
If they're willing, send them the revision request and you should be good to go!
we have no revision request left and customer agreed to delete the feedback but ebay can't remove it please tell us if any solution
customer has to delete it themselves.
I sold shoes. the gal saying to big, but they were wides returned worn scuffed on bottom
~ Justin
No call back. No customer service at all for 2 days....help!
Now in days you can’t talk to anyone in eBay. And that’s sucks.
Great video!
Thanks!
Ebay protects power sellers from negative ratings regardless of their accuracy because it drives up sales.
Hi Sr
i used my 5 revision request what i can do now
Hello,
If you've used all 5 of your feedback revision requests, your only option would be to call ebay and see if you can get a helpful rep to remove the feedback.
I had a seller give me a fake cologne so I gave a negative feedback and he had it removed. Now nobody will know that they sell fake colognes. Unreal
Try calling eBay. They may be able to help appeal the removal. Sorry to hear that you had an experience with a bad seller.
Best regards,
Justin
Thank your very much
Ppl really need to understand that there’s actually a human being on the other end of a transaction!
So your not going to leave eBay number?
they don't have a # anymore. you have to contact ebay through the website and they call you.
Do you know the phone number, everytime I call they tell me its outside of business hours but im calling at 2pm ET on a Tuesday.
If a seller repeatedly misdescribes items...aka condition, measurements. They should be placed on probation then possibly banned.
Thank You so much!!!
You're welcome Joseph!
I’m sure I am not the only one she has abused!
thank you...
I’m afraid this is not good. EBay does not support the sellers and they are actually ruining a lot of sellers that are now even giving up on their businesses on eBay. Especially now that you can’t give a negative feedback to the buyer. All the buyers have 100% positive feedback, how is that right?
I just got my negative feedback removed for feedback extorsion.
Thanks!
So you get to cover up your failures. Got it.
~ Justin
What's wrong David B. ? Are you mad that you can't sh*t on reputable seller's accounts and make them as miserable as you ?
eBay doesn’t give 2 shits
.
They dont take nothing away
So I have emailed the buyer, no response yet 🙁
Thanks I'm trying to contact EBay again.
Cant get them to call me back!
Yeah you can reply but the buyer can then reply back to your reply
Ebau is ZERO HELP when it comes to feedback there is no phone number nowadays
Agreed. Ever since Covid started their call centers have been terrible. I’ve had better luck as of late with getting help on Facebook by messaging Ebay for business. I hope this helps.
